REPUBLIC, MISSOURI - Rosella M. (Roby) Kirk, age 80, of Republic,
Missouri, formerly of Summerfield, Florida and Gays, Illinois, passed away
at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, on Tuesday,
May 22, 2001.
Mrs. Kirk was born February 19, 1921, in Gays, IL, to Orval and Edith
(Langston) Roby. She married Orion Kirk in 1937. He preceded her in
death in 1980.
Mrs. Kirk leaves five sons, William Kirk and wife Pauline of Republic,
Missouri; Gene Kirk and wife Judy of Hayesville, North Carolina; John
Kirk and wife Donna of Tuba City, Arizona; Rev. Jim Kirk and wife Ruth
of St. Louis, Missouri; and Garret Kirk and wife Paula of Gulfport,
Mississippi. She leaves one daughter, Rosalie Waskow and husband
Richard of Vian, Oklahoma. She is survived by a sister, Lois Daily of
Neoga, Illinois, as well as 21 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and one daughter, Vivian Marie preceded her in death.
Rosella was formerly a Nursing Assistant at Mattoon Memorial Hospital.
She was also a former member of the Mattoon First Church of Nazarene.
Visitation for Mrs. Kirk will be held Friday, May 25, 2001, from 4-8 p.m.
at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home in Mattoon. Funeral services will be
held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 26, 2001, at the First Church of Nazarene
in Mattoon. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. Memorials may be made
to the First Church of Nazarene.
Dylan Mansfield
MATTOON - Dylan Thomas Mansfield, infant son of Robert W. and Ann
M. Pardieck Mansfield, was stillborn at 1:28 a.m. Monday (May 21, 2001)
at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
A private graveside service was conducted Wednesday at the Humboldt
Township Cemetery with the Rev. James Dona officiating. Dawn Saxton
sang "Jesus Loves Me." The Schilling Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.
Surviving are his parents of rural Mattoon; one brother, Lukas Lee
Mansfield, at home; two sisters, Kaitlyn Jo Mansfield and Taler Alexandra
Mansfield, both at home; and grandparents, Robert and Phyllis Mansfield
of Jewett, and Robert and Ann Pardieck of Mattoon.
He was preceded in death by one grandmother.
Helen Paxton
BLOOMINGTON - Helen Pauline Paxton, 62, of Bloomington, formerly
of Mattoon, died at 7:40 p.m. Monday (May 21, 2001) at her residence.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Kibler-Smith Memorial Home,
Bloomington, with the Rev. Dan Wissmann officiating. No visitation is
planned.
She was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Mattoon, the daughter of Herman Lloyd
Hite and Vivian Josephine Fraizier. She married William A. Paxton in 1962;
he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Kathleen Paxton; four brothers, Milton
Hite of Mattoon, Tom Hite of Belton, Texas, Jack Hite of Germany and
David Ealy; three sisters, Josephine Petigo of Mattoon, Saretta Todd of
Thompsonville and Marilyn Anderson; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son and one sister.
Mrs. Paxton was a homemaker.
Michael Zytka
TOLEDO - Michael John Zytka, 37, of Toledo, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday
(May 20, 2001) at his residence.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Toledo Christian Church with the
Rev. Jim Watts officiating. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery. No
visitation is planned. The Barkley Funeral Home in Toledo is in charge of
the arrangements.
He was born Sept. 27, 1963, in Flushing, New York, the son of Ronald F.
and Patricia F. Slavin Zytka. He married Nancy Ruth Sowers in 1987; she
survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Charleston; two daughters, Erika Nichole
and Megan Danielle Zytka, both at home; and one sister, Patricia Lampley
of Charleston.
Mr. Zytka was the regional manager for Safety Klean Corporation for 13
years. He was a member of the Toledo Christian Church.

Stanley Cornelison
ST. CHARLES - Stanley L. Cornelison, 70, of rural St. Charles, died
Sunday (May 20, 2001) at his residence.
Private services are planned. Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles is in charge
of the arrangements.
He was born Feb. 12, 1931, in Gibson City, the son of Loyal B. and Helen
Johnson Cornelison. He married Mona Cross in 1954. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy Cornelison and Marcia Johnson,
both of St. Charles; and one grandson.
Mr. Cornelison was a senior partner for Andersen Consulting and owner of
Rolling Oaks Farm. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the
American Trakehner Association.

Stanley Mast
ARTHUR - Stanley Mast, 57, of Arthur, died at 7:35 p.m. Monday (May
21, 2001) at his residence.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Pleasant View Church in
Arcola with Bishop Howard Kuhns officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant
View Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the
church. Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola is in charge of the arrangements.
He was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Arthur, a son of Henry and Barbara Plank
Mast.
Surviving are two brothers, Melvin Mast of Sarasota, Fla., and John Mast
of Mahomet; and four sisters, Mary Miller of Sarasota, Fla., Sarah Miller of
Macon, Miss., Carolyn Kauffman of Arthur and Linda Weaver of East
Earl, Pa.
Mr. Mast was an employee of the Moultrie County Beacon in Sullivan and
a member of the Pleasant View Church
Lloyd O'Dell
MATTOON - Lloyd O'Dell, 63, of Mattoon, died at 7 p.m. Saturday (May
19, 2001) at his residence.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Schilling Funeral Home with
the Rev. Jack Turner and the Rev. Sharon Monroe officiating. Burial will
be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the
funeral home.
He was born Jan. 14, 1938, in Ashmore, a son of Lloyd Vesper and Edna
Clara Kissell O'Dell.
Surviving are one son, John Tennyson of Virginia Beach, Va.; three
daughters, Patricia Rivera of Puerto Rico, Suzahn Owens of Campbell,
Calif., and Vickie Bircher of Charleston; his mother, Edna Clara O'Dell of
Lawrenceville; three brothers, Fred O'Dell of Tower Hill, Gene O'Dell of
Dieterich and Mark O'Dell of Bridgeport; two sisters, Dorcus "Susie" Dow
of Mattoon and Shelly O'Dell of Decatur; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, two sisters and one daughter.
Mr. O'Dell had worked for General Steel and Metals and the Charleston
Foundry and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the American
Legion of Parkville, Mo., and the Leon A. Robbins Memorial Post 318.
Hershel Swick
TRILLA - Hershel L. Swick, age 72, of Trilla, passed away at 10:05 p.m.
Monday, May 21, 2001 at the Odd-Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral
Home in Neoga with the Reverend Henry Graham officiating. Burial will be
in Songer Cemetery near Rose Hill. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m.
Wednesday at the funeral home.
Hershel was born December 30, 1928 in Jasper County, the son of Edward
M. and M. Florence (Griffith) Swick. He married Carol J. Tubbs on
December 30, 1982.
Surviving are his wife, Carol J. Swick of Mattoon, step-daughter, Mrs.
Allen (Nancy) Ferguson of Marion, Ind.; brother, Carl L. Swick of rural
Neoga; and one step-grandson and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mr. Swick was a employee of the former Young's Radiator Company in
Mattoon and a retired carpenter. He was a member of the Mattoon Eagles
Club.

Linda Wilkins
IOLA - Linda K. Wilkins, 52, of Iola, died at 3:33 p.m. Monday (May 21,
2001) at her residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Pagel Funeral Home in
Edgewood. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m.
Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 22, 1949, in Vandalia, a daughter of Elwood E. and
Pauline Strange Brown. She married Darrel Pilcher in 1967. He died in
1994. She later married Howard Wilkins in 1998. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael of Effingham and Ron of Mattoon;
one stepson, B.J. Wilkins of Edgewood; one stepdaughter, Becky
Markham of Augusta, Ga.; one brother, Elwood Brown of Effingham; two
sisters, Sarah Phillips of Belle Rive and Mary Ann Pflueger of Odin; two
grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mrs. Wilkins was a homemaker and member of the Lynn Branch Church
in rural Edgewood.

Stephen Allison
CASEY - Stephen L. Allison, age 58, of Casey, passed away at 10:30 a.m.
Friday, May 18, 2001, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at the First Church of The Nazarene in
Casey with the Pastor Steve Greene and Pastor David Vaughn officiating.
Burial will be in Casey-Cumberland Cemetery. Markwell & Son Funeral
