MATTOON - Marie A. Stoner, 94, of Mattoon, formerly of Charleston,
died at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday (May 15, 2001) at the Odd Fellow-Rebekah
Home in Mattoon.
Burial will be at a later date in the Edgar Cemetery in Paris. Caudill-King
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born June 8, 1906, in Paris, a daughter of William and Emma
Hastings Mercer. She married Forrest Stoner; he died in 1972.
Surviving is a daughter, Joyce Dolson of Mattoon; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Mrs. Stoner was a homemaker.
Wilbur Bosler
MARTINSVILLE - Wilbur Ray "Web" Bosler, 82, of Martinsville, died at
8:45 a.m. Wednesday (May 30, 2001) at his home.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Greenwell Funeral Home,
Martinsville, with the Father Jeff Grant and the Rev. George Nika
officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Roselawn Cemetery,
Charleston. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born June 3, 1918, in Coles County, the son of Tribly Dana Bosler
and Edna Gordan Bosler. He married Dorothy Elizabeth Clough; she died
in 1965. He married Wanda Daughhetee Bennett; she survives.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Bosler of Charleston; two stepdaughters,
Sherry Repp of Palestine and Brenda Ludwig of Oakland; two brothers,
George Bosler of Westfield and Robert Bosler of St. Elmo; a sister, Thelma
Brown of St. Louis, Mo.; one grandchild; five step-grandchildren; one
great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son and two sisters.
Mr. Bosler was a retired State of Illinois meat inspector and from 1960-69
operated Bosler Grocery Store in Westfield. He was a navy veteran of
World War II, a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of
Charleston and the Martinsville American Legion Post 515.

Imogene Collier
ROBINSON - Imogene Collier, 89, of Robinson, formerly of West Union,
died at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday (May 29, 2001) at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Home
in Robinson.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel in
West Union, with Brother, Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will be in
York Cemetery, southeast of West Union. Visitation will be after 5 p.m.
Friday and after 7 a.m. on Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
She was born May 23, 1912, in rural Clinton, Ind., a daughter of David
Gideon and Belle Williamson Gideon. She married Allen Collier in 1930; he
died in 1969.
Survivors include one son, Jim Collier of rural Martinsville; one daughter,
Toots Beabout of Robinson; two sisters, Alene Baum of Terre Haute, Ind.
and Doris Belcher of French Lick, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister.
Mrs. Collier was a homemaker. She was a member of the County Line
Christian Church, rural Blanford, Ind. She was a former member of the
Rebekah Lodge of West Union and the West Union Home Extension Unit.
Memorials may be made to the York Cemetery for upkeep.
Mabel Crowell
MURPHYSBORO - Mabel Marie Holmes Crowell, 78, of Murphysboro,
formerly of Mattoon, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday (May 29, 2001) at St. Louis
University Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro. A
graveside service will be 1 p.m. at the Robinson Cemetery in New
Burnside. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Stone Fort, the daughter of Robert William
Holmes and Pearl Anna Spencer Holmes.
Survivors include a daughter, Anna Marie Burke of Murphysboro.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Robert Foreman
CHARLESTON - Robert M. Foreman, 82, of Charleston, passed away on
Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at 12:55 a.m. at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health
Center.
He was born June 3, 1918, in Charleston, the son of Milton Clement and
Hannah Ellen Woodfall Foreman.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Faiz Hasib,
Charleston, and two grandchildren, Sarah Hasib, Austin, Texas and Reem
Hasib, Urbana, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son,
William Henry Foreman.
Mr. Foreman was a retired farmer and purebred Yorkshire swine breeder.
He was on the Coles County Fair Board, Seven Hickory Township Trustee
and Drainage Commissioner.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2001 at Caudill-King Funeral
Home. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2001 at
Caudill-King Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery.
Iva Miller
CHARLESTON - Iva Pearl Miller, 101, of Charleston, died at 5:30 a.m.
Wednesday (May 30, 2001) at Prairie View Care Center.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Markwell Westfield Chapel
with the Rev. Joe Grozik officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery,
Ashmore. Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the
funeral home.
She was born Dec. 12, 1899, in Ashmore, a daughter of Grant and Maude
Fears Farris. She married Charles E. Miller in 1921; he died in 1976.
Survivors include daughters, Wanda Hughes of Charleston, Elaine Richard
and Charlene Way both of Westfield; four sisters, Elsie Dallas, Winifred
Beavers and Betty Black all of Charleston and Jessie Starwalt of Toledo;
15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and eight
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death also by one daughter, two brothers and one
sister.
Mrs. Miller was an elementary and E.M.H. school teacher in Hutton
Township, Charleston and Westfield. She was a member of the Enon
Baptist Church in Ashmore and the Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority
of Charleston.

Gary Misenheimer
SAND SPRINGS, Okla. - Gary R. Misenheimer, 57, of Sand Springs,
Oklahoma, died Monday, (May 28th 2001) after a courageous battle with
cancer.
Gary was born Dec. 29th 1943, in Mattoon, Ill., the son of Chester E. and
Edith (Stump) Misenheimer. He married Brenda Woodrum of Mattoon, in
1964.
Gary is survived by his mother, Edith of Mattoon; his wife, Brenda of Sand
Springs, Okla.; and four daughters, Kelly Anderson, Christy Hebert, Kary
Merlock and Kacy Holman. A son, Chet, died in 1994. Also surviving are a
sister, Nancy Harper of Mattoon; two brothers, Roger Misenheimer of
Mattoon and Bill Misenheimer of Jacksonville, Fla.; and 7 grandchildren; 4
nieces and 5 nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his father and a brother-in-law.
Before moving to Oklahoma in 1974, Gary worked for the Mattoon Street
Dept. He then became a brick mason and at the time of his death was
employed as supervisor for Western Waterproofing.
Gary was a gifted musician and played in several area bands prior to
moving to Oklahoma. He and Brenda enjoyed traveling to bluegrass
festivals before he became ill in February. Gary was a member of Bass
Masters and the Brick Layers Union.

DON WORTHAM
Don Marcus Wortham, age 91, of Mattoon, passed away at 1:50 a.m.
Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Funeral services celebrating his life will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at
the Schilling Funeral Home with the Reverend Jan Kennedy officiating.
Burial will be at the Janesville Cemetery. The visitation will be from noon
until service time on Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
Don was born August 28, 1909 in Lerna, a son of Marcus and Maie
Walker Wortham.
Survivors include four nieces, Carol Croy and husband Don of Mattoon,
Dorothy Curling and husband Lewis of Richmond, Virginia, Frances
Koehler and husband Robert of Omaha, Nebraska, Eleanor Lawson and
husband Irvin of Westfield; nephews, Patrick Norris and wife Barb and
Robert Norris, all of Jacksonville, Florida and Nancy Wortham of Lerna
(wife of the late John Wortham); and several great-great-nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Wortham was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Presbyterian
Church of Lerna.

THOMAS ADAMS
Thomas Ezra Adams, age 87, of New London, Wisconsin, formerly of
Cooks Mills, passed away at 10:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2001, at his
son's residence in New London, Wisconsin.
Graveside funeral services celebrating his life will begin at 10:30 a.m. on
Thursday at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Cooks Mills with the
Reverend Jack Barton officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. this
evening at the Schilling Funeral Home.
Tom was born June 4, 1913, in Hill Ham, Tennessee, a son of Granville
and Cora Hawkins Adams. He married Juanita "Bonnie" Miller on August
23, 1936, in Moultrie County. She passed away December 16, 1983. He
was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jenny Adams, in infancy; two
brothers, Raleigh "Gus" Adams and Odas "Ode'" Adams; one sister, Maude
O'Dell; and two half-sisters, Naomi Ruth Adams, in infancy, and Macon
White.
Survivors include one son, Thomas W. "Wes" Adams and wife Lyda of
New London, Wisconsin; two daughters, Juanita Joyce "Jo" Sneed of
Mattoon and Madonna "Kay" Arnold and husband Hugh of Springfield; one
brother, Willie Hassell Adams and wife Lola of Cooks Mills; one
sister-in-law, Bessie Adams of Cooks Mills; three half-brothers, Jack
Billings and M. C. Billings, both of Sparta, Tenn. and Bill Adams and wife
Shirley of Benton, La.; two half-sisters, LaVerna Lou Karr of Kentucky
and Mary Louise Mathis of Macon; ten grandchildren, seventeen
great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Adams retired as a broommaker from the Century Broom and
Libman's Broom Companies in 1997. He was a member of the Mt. Zion
General Baptist Church.
Ronald Darling
MATTOON - Ronald L. Darling, 66, of Mattoon, died at 10:30 p.m.
Sunday (May 27, 2001) at Douglas Nursing Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the Barkley Funeral Home in
Greenup. Burial will be in Jewett Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour
prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1934, in Jewett, the son of Denver and Garnett
Tucker Darling.
Surviving are his mother, Garnett Darling of Pompano Beach, Fla.; three
daughters, Rhonda Haythorne and Kayla Darling, both of Effingham and
Sheryl Morris of Bourbonnais; one brother, Tim Darling of Toledo; one
sister, Susan Ives of Pompano Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Mr. Darling was a retired AmerenCIPS worker and Army veteran.
