SHELBYVILLE - Rose Mairi Davis, 72, of Shelbyville, died at 6:44 p.m.
Saturday (May 26, 2001) in Shelby Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Howe and Yockey Funeral
Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. Paul Pryor officiating. Burial will be in
Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.
She was born April 26, 1929, in Victoria, the daughter of the Rev. Dan S.
and Violet M. Worthington Crane. She married Harry G. Davis Jr. in 1948;
he survives.
Other survivors include a son, H. Glenn Davis III of Shelbyville; daughters,
Victoria M. Davis Fender of Woodridge and Mary Jane Frost of
Shelbyville; a brother, Jean M. Crane of Blytheville, Ark.; and six
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a grandchild.
Mrs. Davis was a retired caseworker for Shelby County Community
Services. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville.

Ben Gray
TUSCOLA - Freeman Benjamin Gray, 81, of Tuscola, formerly of Arcola,
died at 1:05 p.m. Monday (May 28, 2001) at the VA Illiana Health Care
System in Danville.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola,
with Bret Hammond officiating. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery.
Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born July 25, 1919, in Kemp, a son of Samuel and Laura Conner
Gray.
Survivors include one son, Adam Gray of Sacramento, Calif.; two
daughters, Charmaine Riggins of Adel, Iowa, and Karla Romero of
Kerrville, Texas; two brothers, Thomas Gray of Assumption and Jim Gray
of Dayton, Ohio; five sisters, Gracie Burch of Mattoon, Jessie Burch of
Arcola, Mary Burton of Montrose, Bessie Maynard of Paris and Sarah
Trudell of Barnett, Wis.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Gray was retired from Otis Elevator in Bloomington, Ind. He was a
member of the Kemp Church of Christ and an Army veteran of World War
II.
John Neal Sr.
OCALA, Fla. - John W. Neal Sr., 89, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Coles
County and Louisville, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday (May 25, 2001) at the Life
Care Center in Ocala, Fla.
A private family service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Neal Funeral Home in
Louisville. Burial will be in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation
will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic rites.
He was born Jan. 17, 1912, in Coles County, a son of J. Elmer Neal and
Gertie Walters Neal. He married Martha L. Taylor; she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Jack Neal of Louisville; a daughter, Carla
McKay of Swartz Creek, Mich.; a sister, Eleanor Skillman of Raleigh; six
grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Mr. Neal was a retired funeral director for 66 years, the former owner and
operator of the Neal Funeral Home, Louisville. He was a 50-year member
of the Louisville Masonic Lodge and was also a member of the Louisville
Christian Church, the Louisville Rotary Club, the Illinois Funeral Director
Association and National Funeral Director Association. He was a former
mayor of Louisville and a Navy veteran of World War II.

ARCOLA - Amy Kay (Bergfield) Reinhard, 42, of Arcola, IL passed away
at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at Carle Foundation Hospital in
Urbana.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2001 at the
Arcola Free Methodist Church, 231 North Walnut, Arcola, IL. Rev. Tim
Massengill, Rev. James Reinhard, and Rev. Walter Truex will officiate.
Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00
p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East
Main Street, Arcola, IL.
Amy was born on January 23, 1959, in Tuscola, IL. A daughter of Lloyd
and Phyllis (Spanhook) Bergfield. She married Mark Reinhard August 9,
1981 in Arcola, IL.
She is survived by: 1 Daughter, Breanne Lynn Reinhard of Arcola, IL;
Breanne's Father, Mark Reinhard of Springfield, IL; Her parents, Lloyd
and Phyllis Bergfield of Arcola, IL; 2 Brothers, Ebby Bergfield of Arcola,
IL and Don Bergfield and his wife Carol of Bellflower, IL; 2 Nephews,
Tyler Bergfield who is serving in the mission field in the Philippines and
Lee Bergfield of Bellflower, IL; 1 Niece: Crystal Bergfield of Arcola, IL.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents.
Amy was a lay minister and a member of the Arcola Free Methodist
Church. She was also a member of the Arcola Ministerial Association,
Christian Counselors of America, and the Jeff Gordon Fan Club. Amy was
honored to be crowned Miss Arcola in 1976. She graduated in 1977 from
Arcola High School and she was very active in student council, National
Honor Society, basketball, volleyball, and scholastic bowl. She graduated
Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Greenville College
where she was a member of the Ladies of El Penice. In 1986 she graduated
with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois
University at Edwardsville.
Amy was a mental health therapist at Montgomery County Mental Health
in Hillsboro, IL from 1981 to 1995. She became director in 1985. In the fall
of 1995 Amy moved to Arcola and operated a private practice. She was
very active at the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro and Arcola.
Memorials may be made to establish an Arcola High School Scholastic
Bowl award or to the Arcola Free Methodist Church.
Rose Warner
CHARLESTON -- Rose Marie Napier Warner, 44, of Charleston, formerly
of Robinson, died at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday (May 29, 2001) at Douglas Care
and Rehabilitation Center in Mattoon.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Goodwine Funeral Home in
Palestine with the Father Richard Weltin officiating. Burial will be in
Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday with a
Catholic Wake service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 12, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of John
Wayne Napier and Shirley Gilarti Eveland.
Surviving are her mother and step-father, Shirley and Dean Evelin of
Palestine; two brothers, Johnny Napier of Fort Worth, Texas and Mike
Napier of Sullivan; one sister, Angie Nethery of Palestine; one step-brother,
Henry "Hank" Evelin of Palestine; and two step-sisters, Deana Tracey of
Oblong and Connie Kimberlin.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother.
Ms. Warner worked for Lincoln Land Hospice and was a member of the
Charleston Catholic Church.

Bradley Wienke
TUSCOLA - Bradley K. Wienke, 41, of Tuscola, died at 10:30 a.m.
Sunday (May 27, 2001) at his residence.
A private graveside service was conducted Tuesday at Payne Cemetery,
north of Brocton, with Virgil Haynes officiating. Taber Funeral Home of
Oakland was in charge of the arrangements.
He was born June 15, 1959, in Danville, the son of Jack and Virginia
Merritt Wienke. He was previously married to Gina Wilson; she survives.
Survivors include his parents; a stepson, Brent Wilson of Tuscola; and a
grandmother, Thelma Fitzgerald of Brocton.
Mr. Wienke was a welder/final assemblyman at Trailmobile in Charleston.
He was a member of the Embarras Valley Chapter ABATE and the
Tuscola Moose Lodge.

Nellie Yeisley
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Nellie C. Yeisley, 89, of Melbourne, Fla., formerly
of Mattoon, died Sunday (May 27, 2001) at Holmes Regional Medical
Center in Melbourne, Fla.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at the Brownlie-Maxwell Chapel in
Melbourne, Fla. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
She was born Dec. 25, 1911, in Irving, a daughter of Charles Leslie Carr
and Mary Frances Rutledge. She married Jack Yeisley of Melbourne, Fla.;
a stepson, Keith Yeisley of Clearwater, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Saundra Hall
of Bloomsburg, Penn.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Yeisley was an employment interviewer at the Illinois State
Employment Service in Mattoon and in Florida. She retired as a secretary
for the Boeing Co. at KSC. She was a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Melbourne, Fla., the OES of Melbourne, Fla., Ladies
Nobility, Daughters of the Nile and was Past Grand Worthy Advisor of the
State of Illinois Rainbow for Girls.

Carl Brandenburg
MARTINSVILLE - Carl Vincent Brandenburg, 70, of Martinsville, died at
6:30 a.m. Saturday (May 26, 2001) at his residence.
The funeral was held Monday at the Markwell & Son Funeral Home in
Casey with the Rev. Marvin Oakley and Rev. Gene Southard officiating.
Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery in Casey.
He was born May 12, 1931, in Casey, a son of Earl Edgar and Lillie Swim
Brandenburg. He married Ruth Newsome in 1949. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Steven Brandenburg of Casey; three daughters,
Nancy Shafer of Toledo, Carla Zachary and Joy Myers, both of
Martinsville; one brother, Stanley Brandenburg of Mattoon; nine
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one brother and one sister.
Mr. Brandenburg was a retired oil field driller and a carpenter. He was a
member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Casey.
Eudean Cooper
MARSHAL L Eudean Ruth Cooper, 74, of Marshall, died at 8:40 p.m.
Friday (May 25, 2001) at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel in
West Union with Brother Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will be in
Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Oblong, a daughter of Otis James and Flora
May Hungerford Malone. She married Ira F. Cooper in 1949. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Malinda Norton of Fairfax, Va.; two sons,
Doug Cooper of Rock Island and Ira F. Cooper, Jr. of Columbia, S.C.; two
brothers, Ivan Malone of Wyoming, Mich. and Loren Malone of
Columbus, Miss.; three sisters, Dorothy Dykstra of Grandview, Mich.,
Genevieve Hickox of Casey, and Inez Irby of Lowell, Mich.; and five
grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one
great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Cooper was a nurse and member of the Marshall TOPS Club. She
was a Red Cross volunteer and active in the Marshall Bowling League.
Ronald Darling
MATTOON - Ronald L. Darling, 66, of Mattoon, died at 10:30 p.m.
Sunday (May 27, 2001) at Douglas Nursing Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Barkley Funeral Home in
Greenup. Burial will be in Jewett Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour
prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1934, in Jewett, the son of Denver and Garnett
Tucker Darling.
Surviving are his mother, Garnett Darling of Pompano Beach, Fla.; three
daughters, Rhonda Haythorne and Kayla Darling, both of Effingham and
Sheryl Morris of Bourbonnais, one son, Tim Darling of Toledo; one sister,
Susan Ives of Pompano Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Mr. Darling was a retired AmerenCips worker and Army veteran.
