88-year-old Geraldine "Jerry" Debenport of Fairfield died at 10:26 Thursday morning, Dec. 27th, 2001 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are a son, Robert A. Debenport and wife Carol of Fairfield; 2 brothers, Robert and Dan Burkhart both of Martinsburg, West Virginia; a sister, Mary Jaine Mead of Atlanta, Georgia; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Geraldine "Jerry" Debenport were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29th at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29th until the time of service at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Fairfield.
Pearl Harris
90-year-old Fairfield resident, Pearl Harris died at 2 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001 at Wayfair, Fairfield.
Her survivors include two sons, Charles Harris of Fairfield and Delbert Harris of Bonne Terre, Missouri; two daughters, Mary Joe Johnson of Mt. Carmel and Nancy Mathews of Evansville, IN, twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Pearl Harris were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29 at Johnson Chapel with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28 at Johnson Chapel, Fairfield.

Margaret A. Frankland
79-year-old Margaret A. Frankland, formerly of Albion, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, December 27th, 2001 at Doctors Health and Rehab Center in Salem.
Surviving are a son, Kevin Frankland of Indianapolis; 2 daughters, Mrs. Sharon Sullens of Salem and Danielle Frankland of Joplin, Missouri; a brother, Donald of Albion; 4 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Margaret A. Frankland will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30th at Nales Funeral Home in Albion with burial in Graceland Cemetery.
Visitation was from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29th at Nales Funeral Home in Albion. Memorials may be made to the Little Prairie Christian Church.
Charles E. Metcalf
86 year old Charles E. Metcalf of Albion died at 9:30 Monday evening, Dec. 24th, 2001 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. A navy veteran of World War II, he had worked as a self employed automotive body repairman.
Survivors include four sons, Ray Metcalf of Albion, Robert Metcalf of Evansville, Ind., Richard Metcalf of Bonne-Terre, Missouri and Rodney Metcalf of Evansville, Ind.; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 Friday morning at Nales Funeral Home in Albion. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.
Visitation was from 6-8 Thursday evening at Nales Funeral Home in Albion.
Memorials may be made to the Edwards County Senior Citizens.
William Ian Mathes
21-year-old W. Salem resident, William I. Mathes died Sunday morning, Dec. 23, 2001 following a traffic accident in rural Wabash County. He was in his fourth year at the University of Illinois.
Survivors include his parents, James and Patricia L. Rudolphi Mathes of West Salem, a sister, Lauren Mathes, and his maternal grandparents, Melvin and Helen Rudolphi of rural Olney.
Funeral services for William I. Mathes were held at 10a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem with burial in the Moravian Cemetery.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26 at the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem.

74-year-old Flora resident, Charles R. Peters died at 5:13 Saturday morning, Dec. 22, 2001 at the Clay County Hospital in Flora.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean, two sons, Larry of Flora and Charlie of Flora; two daughters, Dorothy Kauble of Clay City and Mary McCullough of Flora; a son-in-law, David Wilson of McLeansboro, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

85-year-old Lyman D. Works of Albion died at 10:10 Wednesday night, Dec. 19th, 2001 at CLC Nursing Home in Sumner.
Surviving are 3 sons, Robert and David both of Albion, and William L. Works of Addison, Texas; a daughter, Debra Barreto of Corsicana, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

93-year-old Hester Elliott of Albion died at 6:10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22nd, 2001 at the Oakview Heights Nursing Home in Mt. Carmel.
Among her survivors are 2 sons, Steve Elliott of Mt. Carmel and Ron Elliott of Orlando, Florida; 2 daughters, Gail Jennings of Albion and Brenda Fraker of West Salem; and a sister, Cuma Chapman of Albion.
Graveside services for Hester Elliott were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at Graceland Cemetery in Albion.
