CHARLESTON - Beatrice "Bea" Pelton, 77, of Charleston, died at 5:10 p.m. Monday (July 16, 2001) at her residence.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Prevo officiating. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday evening at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home.
She was born July 26, 1923, in Charleston, the daughter of James E. and Dorothy Cox Roberts. She married James Pelton in 1940; he died in 1996.
Survivors include four sons, Kirk and Bruce Pelton of Charleston, Jimmy Pelton of Louisville, Ky., and Bob Pelton of Santa Rosa, Calif.; one daughter, Debbie Kay Craig of Charleston; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pelton was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the VFW Post Ladies Auxiliary both of Charleston.
Lenora Ramey
GREENUP - Lenora P. Ramey, 96, of Greenup, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday (July 17, 2001) at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation in Effingham.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Westlawn Memorial Park Newton. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Barkley Funeral Home in Greenup.
She was born Aug. 15, 1904, in Rose Hill, the daughter of Bert and Goldie Cummins Nichols. She married Lester Ramey in 1924; he died in 1988.
Surviving are one daughter, Corine Howard of Greenup; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Ramey was a homemaker.
Iva Raymond
OAKLAND - Iva Mae Raymond, 74, of Oakland, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday (July 18, 2001) at the Arthur Home, Arthur.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Villa Grove Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Sweeney officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Taber Funeral Home, Oakland.
She was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Ware, the daughter of Charles and Edna Hayes Rogers. She married Harold Gilliland in 1945. She later married Earl Raymond in 1965; he died in 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Chuck Gilliland of Arcola and Bob Gilliland of Oakland; one daughter, Jeanne Crites of Rantoul; five stepsons, Kenneth Raymond of Tuscola, Jon Tanzyus of Decatur, Floyd Raymond of Toronto, Paul Raymond of St. Charles and Tom Raymond of Mt. Vernon; one stepdaughter, Mary Alice Dente of Villa Grove; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; and 21 step-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one stepson, one step-grandchild, three brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Raymond was a practical nurse and tended bar at the French Embassy in Arcola for many years.

David Allison
CLEVELAND - David A. Allison, 38, of Cleveland, formerly of Charleston, died at 9:04 a.m. Saturday (July 14, 2001) in Cleveland.
A graveside memorial service for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Shiloh Cemetery with the Rev. Susan Reichenberg officiating. The Harper-Swickard Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
He was born Nov. 27, 1962, in Claremont, N.H., the son of Richard E. and Martha Anne Ward Allison.
Survivors include one brother, Tim Allison of N. Collins, N.Y., and one sister, Nancy Rogers of Port Una, Calif.
Mr. Allison was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cleveland.
Myrtle Banning
SHELBYVILLE - Myrtle F. Banning, 90, of Shelbyville, died at 3:25 p.m. Monday (July 16, 2001) in the Shelby Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at the Lockart and Sons Funeral home in Shelbyville. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Visitation will be one hour before the service today at the funeral home.
She was born June 3, 1911, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Orlie Leroy and Josephine Shumbarger Hill. She married Lee Banning in 1966; he died in 1996.
Survivors include one stepson, James Banning of Carpentersville; one stepdaughter, Maryann Eddy of Pana; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters.
Ruben Cassiday
TEUTOPOLIS - Ruben Clarence Cassiday, 90, of Teutopolis, formerly of Humboldt, died at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday (July 17, 2001) at Lakeland Nursing Center in Effingham.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Shrader Funeral Home in Arcola, with pastors Allen and Alycia Smith officiating. Burial will be in Humboldt Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 6, 1910, in Coles County, the son of Daniel and Martha Ann Pearcy Cassiday. He married Martha Gilbert Frye in 1945; she died in 1979.
Survivors include three daughters, Nadine Parker of Morristown, Tenn., Sharon Lee of Marysville, Wash., and Carol Ann Beauchamp of Glasgow, Ky.; two stepsons, Lloyd Frye of Chicago and Robert Frye of Chillicothe; two stepdaughters, Dorothy Carter of Jacksonville, N.C., and Sharon Bentley of Warner Robins, Ga.; one brother, Albert Cassiday of Mattoon; and one sister, Nancy Farris of Charleston.
He was preceded in death by four brother, three sisters and one grandson.
Mr. Cassiday worked at Humboldt and Dorans grain elevators for many years.

Mary L. Kensil
SHELBYVILLE, Illinois - Mary L. Kensil, 84, of Shelbyville, died at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2001 in Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with Rev. Cathy Minor officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church or Habitat for Humanity in Shelby County.
Mrs. Kensil was born on August 2, 1916 in Windsor, the daughter of Amon Lawrence and Myrtle Estella Blue Ross. She was a 1934 graduate of Windsor High School and was a cook at Olivewood Health Care Center for ten years and later cooked for the Rotary and Lions Clubs all of Shelbyville. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church near Shelbyville where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She married Dexter J. "Judd" Kensil on January 18, 1948 in Fayette County. He died on March 3, 1971.
Surviving are her son, Dave Kensil and wife Patti of Shelbyville; daughter, Susie Kensil and companion Chip Reider of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Mary Jo Adams and husband Greg, James R. Killam, Jr., Michael D. Killam and wife Daphne, Carissa Brownback and Andrea Brownback; great-grandchildren, Casaundra Killam, Caitlyn Killam, Megan Fox and Ethan Cole Brownback and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Bob, Ronald and Gerald Ross; and two sisters, Thelma Gannaway and Evelyn Mousseau.

Dora Schrock
ARTHUR - Dora E. Beachy Schrock, 78, of Arthur, died at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday (July 17, 2001) at her residence in rural Arthur.
The funeral will be 9 a.m. Thursday at the family residence, rural route 1 Box 191, Arthur, with Bishop David E. Schrock officiating. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery, rural Arthur. Visitation will be anytime prior to the service at the family residence. The Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola is in charge of he arrangements.
She was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Arthur, the daughter of Eli D. and Cora E. Yoder Beachy. She married Jonas M. Schrock in 1949; he died in 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Velvon J. and Mikel R. Schrock both of Arthur; three daughters, Oma J. Schrock of Arcola, Lela J. Otto of Sullivan and Loretta J. Schrock of Arthur; two brothers, Ervin E. Beachy of Arthur and Rufus Beachy of Staunton, Va.; one foster sister, Katie Graber of Arthur; and 12 grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one grandchild.
Mrs. Schrock was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish.
