MATTOON -- Margaret Lou Stillions, 85, of Mattoon
died at 10:18 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 1, 2001) at Sarah
Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the
Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints with
Bishop T. Ned Lunt officiating. Burial and graveside
services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Roselawn
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday at the Schilling Funeral Home.
She was born Nov. 29, 1915, near Sumner, the daughter
of James Cyrus and Mabel Claire Adamson Piper. She
married Woodrow W. "Woody" Stillions in 1940. He
died in 1994.
Surviving are one son, C. A. Stillions of Washington,
D.C.; one daughter, Sally Stillions of Mattoon; and two
grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by six brothers.
Mrs. Stillions was a retired teacher in the Mattoon
Community School district. She was a member of
Daughters of the American Revolution and the Church
of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints.

MATTOON -- Chester C. Sturgeon, 84, of Mattoon
died at 8:05 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 1, 2001) at his
residence.

Gerald M. Trainor
LOVINGTON - Gerald M. "Jerry" Trainor, 86, of
Lovington, died at 11:29 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2001
in his home.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in the First
Christian Church, Lovington, with the Rev. Kevin Ray
officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00-8:00
p.m. in the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington.
Burial will be in the Keller Cemetery, Lovington.

John's Hospice.
He was born on November 30, 1914, in Shelby County,
the son of William S. and Clara T. Giles Trainor. He
retired from the Brown Shoe Company, Sullivan. He
was a member and Elder Emeritus of the First Christian
Church, Lovington, member of the Lovington Kiwanis
Club.
He married Melba E. Townsend on October 2, 1943 in
Lovington and she survives.
Surviving are his sons, Steven Trainor and his wife
Fran of Cary, David Trainor and wife Nancy of
Kewanee; daughter, Marlene Jenkins and husband Alan
of Sullivan; 8 grandchildren, Matt, Trent, Tara, Todd,
Ty, Beth, Kyra, Wyatt; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan
and Jackson.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

MATTOON -- Janice Wagner, 60, of Mattoon died at
10:10 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 2, 2001) at Douglas Care and
Rehabilitation Center.

CHARLESTON - Harold Davis, 80, of rural Charleston,
died Friday (Aug. 31, 2001) at Sarah Bush Lincoln
Health Center.

Leola Richardson
MARTINSVILLE - Leola Richardson, 92, of
Martinsville, died Friday (Aug. 31, 2001) at Burnside
Nursing Home, Marshall.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the
Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, with the Rev.
Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn
Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home.
She was born June 24, 1909, in Clark County, the
daughter of William and Nevada Ellen Fain Ulrey. She
married Golden Richardson in 1929; he died in 1999.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard Richardson of
Martinsville and Dean Richardson of Oklahoma City;
one sister, Evelyn Richardson of Washington state; five
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister
and one grandson.
Mrs. Richardson was a homemaker and a member of
the Willis Chapel Church.
ETHEL WILLS
Ethel Yvonne Wills, age 90, of Mattoon, formerly of
Eldorado, passed away at 3:14 a.m. on Thursday, Aug.
30, 2001, at the Beehive Home in Mattoon.
Funeral services celebrating her life will begin at 1:30
p.m. on Sunday at the Schilling Funeral Home. Burial
will be Monday in the Poplar Cemetery near Eldorado.
Visitation will be held from noon until time of service
Sunday at the funeral home.
Ethel was born July 12, 1911, in Eldorado, the daughter
of John and Ada Overton Wettaw. She married Phillip
Westbrook Wills in 1931. He passed away in 1970.
Survivors include two sons, John R. Wills and wife
Jacquelyn of Aberdeen, South Dakota and James A.
Wills and wife Sheri of Morton Grove; two daughters,
Yvonne Sims and husband Gary of Lake of the Ozarks,
Missouri and Margaret Light and husband Gary of
Mattoon; eight grandchildren, fifteen
great-grandchildren; and special caregivers at the
Beehive Home.
Mrs. Wills was a homemaker and also served as a cook
for a fraternity at Eastern Illinois University. She was a
member of the Hurricane Baptist Church, the
Charleston Christian Women's Club, the Coles County
Home Extension and the Coles County Farm Bureau.

Ruth Amerman
ST. BERNICE - Ruth Imogene Hopkins Amerman, 83, of St. Bernice, died
at noon Thursday (Sept. 27, 2001) at her residence.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at the St. Bernice First Church of
the Nazarene with the Rev. Randy Perry officiating. Burial will be in Sugar
Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Frist Funeral
Home and one hour before the service at the church.
She was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Danville, the daughter of Harry W.
Hopkins and Sadie E. Murphy Hopkins. She married David Amerman in
1936; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, David Amerman of Indianapolis; two daughters,
Connie Frazier of St. Bernice and Linda Lewis of Charleston; two brothers,
Max Hopkins of Minnesota and Ralph Hopkins of St. Bernice; three sisters,
Mary Kyle of St. Bernice, Barbara Krabbe of Florida and Pat Alabaugh of
Clinton; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.
Mrs. Amerman was a homemaker and member of the St. Bernice First
Church of the Nazarene.
Claire Davis
NEOGA, IL - Claire Lucille Davis, 8 month old infant daughter of Kirby D.
and Angela N. (Newland) Davis of Neoga, died at 1:54 p.m. Thursday
(Sept. 27, 2001) at St. Louis Children's Hosptial, St. Louis, MO.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the First Christian Church,
in Neoga, with the Rev. Mike Johnson and the Rev. Ron Lake officiating.
Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour
before the service at the church. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home, in
Neoga, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born January 15, 2001, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, in
Coles County, the daughter of Kirby D. and Angela N. (Newland) Davis.
Survivors include her parents of Neoga; grandparents, Carl Davis of Arthur,
IL and David and Sharon Newland of Morris, IL.
She was preceded in death by a grandmother and great-grandparents.

Russell Henderson
GREENUP - Russell D. Henderson, 80, of Greenup, died at 12:30 a.m.
Friday (Sept. 28, 2001) at the Cumberland Nursing Center in Greenup.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Bishop Funeral Home in
Greenup with Rev. Ron Lake and Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will
be in the Aten Cemetery in Hildago. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at
the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1921, in rural Greenup, the son of Loren and Hylah
Warfel Henderson. He married Beulah Isley in 1940; she died in 1978. He
married Betty Romack-Whalen in 1979; she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Larry Henderson of Hidalgo; two
daughters, Carol Volkman and Janet Henderson, both of Newton; one
stepson, Rex Whalen of Keenesville, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Sandra
Steidinger of Charleston; two brothers, Wilbur Henderson of Evansville,
Ind., and Wayne Henderson of Toledo; two sisters, Evelyn Starwalt of
Toledo and June Easton of Greenup; two grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and nine
step-great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by one stepson and two brothers.
Mr. Henderson was a retired farmer and member of the Rose Hill
Methodist Church.
