MERCER ISLAND, Wash. - Lloyd Grant Cochran, 86, of Mercer Island,
Wash., died Wednesday (Sept. 12, 2001) at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue,
Wash.
The funeral was 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Monica Catholic Church in Mercer
Island, Wash. Burial was in Holyrod Cemetery in Shoreline, Wash. The
Green Funeral Home in Bellevue, Wash., was in charge of the
arrangements.
He was born March 9, 1915, in Sullivan, the son of Grant and Ethyl Collins
Cocharan. He married Eunice Johnson in 1942; she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Gerald Cochran of Derby, Kan., and Steve
Cochran of Livermore, Calif.; one daughter, Kathy Cochran of Seattle; two
brothers, Don Cochran of Sullivan and Leon Cochran of New Bern, N.C.;
three sisters, Nona Neal of Urbana, Helen Yelvington of Mattoon and
Melba Strong of Clearmont, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cochran retired from the Aerospace Division of Boeing Corp. He was
a member of the Woodlake Condominiums Association.
Warren Croy
TOLEDO - Warren E. Croy, 81, of Toledo, passed away at 6:35 p.m.
Thursday, September 20, 2001 at Convalescent Care Center in Mattoon.
The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Barkley Funeral
Home in Toledo. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery. Visitation will be
from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Warren was born August 12, 1920 in Toledo, the son of Wm. Elmer and
Letta (Ralston) Croy. He married Ruth Grissom on June 6, 1942. She
preceded him in death on March 3, 2001.
Surviving are two sons, John Croy and his wife Linda of Toledo and David
Croy and his wife Corinthia of Lerna; three daughters, Evelyn Young and
her husband John of Toledo, Sheri Lindsay and her husband Tom of
Springfield, and Debra Barnes and her husband Mike of Toledo; and 14
grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters.
Mr. Croy was a farmer and seed corn salesman for 30 years. He owned C
& K Implement in Toledo for many years. Warren was a member of the
Cumberland County Farm Bureau.
Frances Moberley
MATTOON - Frances Moberley, age 67, of Mattoon, formerly of Gays,
passed away at 8:25 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2001, at Sarah Bush
Lincoln Health Center.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2001 at the
Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, with Reverend Robert C. Clark officiating.
Interment will be in Windsor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.
to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Frances Moberley was born September 13, 1934 at Detroit, Michigan, a
daughter of James and Rita Stevens Hoback. She married Ralph Moberley
May 12, 1951 at the First Baptist Church in Mattoon, he preceded her in
death January 14, 1997. She is survived by her children, Jan Austin of
Neoga, Becki Anderson of Mattoon, Don Moberley and his wife Melissa,
Marla Leasher and her husband Bill of Neoga. A brother, Jim Hoback and
his wife Joyce of Decatur; a sister, Betty Shorter and her husband Bill of
Pluto, Missouri; and sisters-in-law Elenore Moberley of Sun City, Arizona
and Edith Moberley of Mattoon also survive. Frances leaves her
grandchildren, Tabi Leasher, Bruce Austin, Ben Austin, Jaymee Farrier,
Michelle Farrier, Ryan Farrier, Don Moberley, Jason Hypes and Jenna
Leasher and great-grandchildren Tyler, Torey and Trey Leasher and
Mercedez Austin.
Frances was a member of the Gays Christian Church and Royal Neighbors
of America. She enjoyed her life with her husband of over forty years.
Frances spent much time doing things for her family and others such as
cooking and baking wedding cakes. She thoroughly loved time spent with
her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her life was especially enriched
the past two years with her youngest grandchild Jenna.
DUSTY ALLEN MITCHELL
Dusty Allen Mitchell, 15, of Mattoon died at 8:25 AM Thursday September
20, 2001 at the Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.
Funeral Service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday,
September 22, 2001, at the Epperson Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Al Groner
officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until time of service.
Burial will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery.
Dusty was born June 20, 1986 in Mattoon, the son of Lewis Allen and
Sonya Renea (Cowger) Mitchell. He is survived by his parents, of Mattoon;
one sister, Ashley Mitchell of Mattoon; Grandfather, Albert Mitchell of
Mattoon; Grandmother, Betty Cowger of Mattoon; and Grandmother, Bev
Dengler of Greenup. Several Aunts and Uncles and many friends also
survive him.
Dusty was a sophomore in High School. He had a great love for sports
where he earned his letterman In football his freshman year. Dusty was
also an avid skater as well. He was always helpful to others and always on
the go but always with a smile. He had a great love for all his friends, and a
great love for life in general. Dusty was a member of the First Southern
Baptist Church in Mattoon.

Peyton Humphrey
HUMBOLDT - Peyton Elizabeth Humphrey, infant daughter of Cory and
Tamara Dowell Humphrey, was stillborn at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday (Sept.
19, 2001) at the family's residence in Humboldt.
A private graveside service will be held at the Arcola Cemetery. The
Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her parents of Humboldt; paternal grandparents, Robert
and Audrey Humphrey of Arcola; and paternal great-grandmothers, Wanda
Reynolds of Arcola and Doris Humphrey of Atwood.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents and
great-grandfathers.
Iva Oye
ARTHUR - Iva P. Oye, 95, of Arthur, died at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday (Sept.
18, 2001) in The Arthur Home, Arthur.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the McMullin-Young Funeral
Home, Arthur. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be one
hour before the service at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1906, in Tompkinsville, Ky., the daughter of Clyde
and Nancy Ford Hale. She married Michael Oye in 1924; he died in 1992.
Survivors include one sister, Thelma Drew of Oakdale, Calif.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and two
sisters.
Mrs. Oye was a member of the First Baptist Church, Arthur.

JUDITH K. (McNUTT) SAMUELSON
SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Judith K. Samuelson, age 61, of Scottsdale, Arizona
and formerly of Charleston, passed away at her home on September 3,
2001 after a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Friends are
invited to attend Memorial Services celebrating her life at 1:30 p.m. on
Sunday, September 23, 2001 at the Wesley United Methodist Church,
2206 Fourth Street in Charleston. Reverend Dale Beck will officiate.
Judith was born August 31, 1940 in Charleston, the daughter of Jack T.
and June (Featherstun) McNutt. She married Orion Samuelson on August
31, 1974 in Charleston.
Survivors include her husband Orion of Northbrook, Illinois; a step
daughter, Kathryn Samuelson, also of Northbrook; one step son, David
Samuelson and his wife Carla of St. Charles, Illinois; her father, Jack
McNutt and step mother Reata of Charleston; one brother, James McNutt
and his wife Sabina of Charleston; and one sister, Lynn Cunningham and
her husband Gary of Pontiac, Illinois. She was preceded by her mother.
Judith spent much of her life in Chicago, successfully pursuing a career in
communications and advertising. Her interest in Las Madrinas, the auxiliary
of the Scottsdale Foundation for the Handicapped, was the catalyst
responsible for her close relationship with the Scottsdale, Ariz., community,
a relationship that began in the late 1980's. She served as Chairperson of
Las Madrinas' annual fund-raising gala for several years.
In lieu of flowers, Judith's family requests that memorials in her honor be
made to Lincolnland Hospice, American Red Cross or ALS Foundation.

Virginia "Ginny" Dolan
SULLIVAN - Virginia "Ginny" Grace Dolan, 80 of Indianapolis, Indiana,
formerly of Sullivan died at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday (September 18, 2001) in
Community North Hospital, Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Reed Funeral Home,
Sullivan with Rev. Dr. David Leslie officiating. Visitation will be two hours
before services. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. A memorial
services will also be held in the Third Christian Church, Indianapolis at a
later date. Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross or the
donor's choice.
Virginia was born March 16,1921 in rural Sullivan the daughter of John H.
and V. Grace Bracken Dolan. She graduated from the Two Mile School
and Sullivan High School before earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education
from Eastern Illinois State Teacher's College, Charleston, IL and a Master's
Degree from Teacher's College - Columbia University, New York, New
York. She began her teaching career at Webber School in Saginaw,
Michigan and then taught as a primary teacher in the Indianapolis Public
Schools at Schools # 85, 73, and 87, for a career of forty-two years of
teaching.
Virginia was an active member of the Third Christian Church, Indianapolis,
IN., serving as an Elder, department chairperson, and Past President of the
Christian Women's Fellowship. She was actively involved in many
organizations including the Delta Kappa Gamma Society - Beta Chapter
(Teacher Honorary Society - past president); Women's Department Club,
former member and past-president of the Meridian Toastmistress Club and
Past State President of the Toastmistress Clubs.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Jean Dolan of Decatur; brother, Gerald
Dolan and his wife Norma of Sullivan; nieces, Nancy Kuhns and her
husband Ervin, Melissa Dolan both of Sullivan, Eudora Drollinger and her
husband Ken of Windsor; great nieces and nephews, Ben and Carrie
Kuhns, Brett Drollinger and Emily Hudson. She was preceded in death by
her parents and grandparents.
Martha Wichman
CHARLESTON - Martha Ann Wichman, 64, of Charleston, formerly of
Seymour, Ind., died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 19, 2001) at Prairie
View Care Center.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Riverview Cemetery, in
Seymour, Ind., with the Rev. Douglas Heiman officiating. The Caudill-King
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Sept. 22, 1936, in Seymour, Ind., a daughter of Clarence and
Anna Schmidt Wichman.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Art (Eunice) Snider of Charleston; a
nephew, Robert Snider of Granville.
Miss Wichman was a member of the United Methodist Church in
Charleston.
Harry Wilson
SULLIVAN - Mr. Harry V. Wilson, Jr., 66, of Sullivan, died at 12:30 a.m.
Monday, September 17, 2001, in the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in
Houston, Texas.
Private family services will be Friday, September 21, 2001, in the church in
Fairview, IL. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the
McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Burial will be in Fairview
Cemetery, Fairview, IL. Memorials: Moultrie County Chapter American
Cancer Society.
Mr. Wilson was born on January 21, 1935, the son of Harry V. and Gladys
Ramp Wilson. He was C.E.O. of the First National Bank of Sullivan. He
belonged to numerous clubs and organizations. He married Mary Jane
Brown on May 1, 1978, in Urbana.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane of Sullivan, mother; Gladys Wilson
of Galva; son, Henry M.B. Wilson and Wanda of Sullivan; three
grandchildren, Henry M.B. Wilson III, Ashlie Nicole Wilson, Brooklyn
Dawn Wilson all of Sullivan; sister, Cheryl Weber and husband Richard of
Galva.
He was preceded in death by 3 sons, 1 daughter, and father.
