WEST UNION - Eunice R. Prevo, 85, of rural West Union, died at 10:50
a.m. Monday (Oct. 22, 2001) at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel,
West Union, with the Rev. Richard Chapman officiating. Burial will be in
Hutsonville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 7 a.m.
until service time Thursday at the funeral chapel.
She was born Aug. 31, 1916, in Hutsonville, the daughter of Everett
Matheney and Alta Gaddis Matheney. She married Stanley Kraemer; he
died in 1943. She married Stanley "Buss" Prevo; he died on Sept. 30,
2001.
Survivors include one son, Stanley Kraemer of Marshall; one daughter,
Patsy Emanus of rural West Union; four sisters, Zona Murphy of
Hutsonville, June Woolsworth of Hot Springs, Mont., Imo Hightshoe of
Trimble and Alma Metheny of Robinson; seven grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Mrs. Prevo was a member of the Hutsonville First Christian Church and
former member of the Home Extension in the West Union area.
Memorials may be made to the Hutsonville Cemetery.
JUANITA EATON
SULLIVAN - Juanita Morgan Eaton, 76, of Sullivan, went home to be with
the Lord in the presence of her family Sunday morning October 21, 2001,
at 8:30 a.m. in her home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 24, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. in the
McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be Tuesday,
October 23, 2001, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be
in the Turner Cemetery. Lovington. Memorials: Southern Baptist Church,
Sullivan, or the Moultrie County Chapter American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Eaton was born on June 1, 1925, in Lovington, the daughter of Lewis
"Pete" and Carrie Ann Eskridge Morgan. She was retired from Brown Shoe
Company and K-Mart. She was a member of the Sullivan Southern Baptist
Church, "Sullivan Spot Coffee Club." She married Delure Lee "Lum"
Eaton on September 21, 1946, in Glasgow, KY, he passed away on June 1,
1986.
Surviving is a son, Allen Lee Eaton and wife Debbie of Sullivan; daughter,
Linda Sutton and husband Ron of Sullivan; grandchildren, Derik Eaton and
wife Michelle, Ron Sutton Jr. and wife Annette, Tony Isaacs all of Sullivan,
Lisa Moritz and husband Roger of Mattoon, Jill Inman and husband Joe of
Sullivan, Holly Eaton of St. Joseph, Sarah Eaton of Sullivan; 7
great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Rose Ann Clements of Lovington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and nephew Reese.
Juanita will be missed by her loving family and those whose lives she
touched.
Kenneth Gargus
TUCSON, Ariz. - Kenneth Gargus, 63, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of
Sullivan, died Saturday (Oct. 20, 2001).
A service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the Christ Community Church. The
East Lawn Palms Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Rory Gargus and Darren
Gargus; one daughter, Michelle Martinez; one brother, Bennie Abbott of
Neoga; two sisters, Dorothy Borden and Sondra Smith of Mattoon;
stepfather, Carl Abbott of Mattoon; and one grandchild.
Mr. Gargus worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Arizona.
Grace Clifford
MATTOON - Grace M. Clifford, 91, of Mattoon, died at 3:20 p.m.
Monday (Oct. 22, 2001) at the Convalescent Care Center.

CHARLES RAYMOND GREGG
CHARLESTON, IL - Charles Raymond Gregg, age 69 of Charleston, died
on Monday, October 22, 2001 at his residence. Graveside Services
celebrating his life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24
(2001) at Roselawn Cemetery with Reverend Dale Beck officiating.
Charles was born July 13,1932 in Willow Branch Township in Piatt
County, Illinois, the son of Charles and Mae (Jordan) Gregg. On June
19,1955, he married L. Joan Green in the Long Creek Methodist Church
near Decatur, Illinois. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Steve Gregg and his wife Peggy of
Byhalia, Mississippi and David Gregg and his wife Renee of Bloomington,
Illinois; two grandchildren, Nathan Gregg and Nicole Gregg, both of
Bloomington; and one sister, Ilene Story and her husband Joe of Floresville,
Texas. He was preceded by his parents.
Charles was a member of the Cerro Gordo (IL) Masonic Lodge and the
Charleston Country Club. Business Education was his profession. For thirty
years he taught or held administrative positions in his field, and retired as
Chairman of the Business Division at Lake Land College. A Military
Veteran, he served with the United States Air Force during the Korean
Conflict. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and during his son's Little League
playing days, Charles was a coaching volunteer. Many will remember him
as the man who walked his brown unleashed dog along Lincoln Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, Charles' family requests that memorial gifts in his honor
be made to the Coles County Humane Association or the American Lung

Robert LeMay
STERLING - Robert LeMay, 73, of Sterling, formerly of Casey, died
Sunday (Oct. 21, 2001) at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Charles Borromeo
Catholic Church, Casey. Burial will be in Washington Street Cemetery,
Casey. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. at the Markwell and Son Funeral
Home, Casey.
He was born March 5, 1928, in Casey, the son of J.T. and Gladys Miller
LeMay. He married Edna Boos in 1954; she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Dr. Jeffrey P. LeMay of Sterling, and Lt.
Col. Scott P. LeMay of Montgomery, Ala.; two daughters, Carol Kopplin
of Waterloo, Wis., and Mary Lynn Mackey of Sterling; one sister, Norma
L. Schmalhausen of Indianapolis; and 15 grandchildren.
Mr. LeMay was the president of Central Lumber Co. in Casey, Martinsville
and Marshall.
Doris Meekins
CHARLESTON - Doris Bell Meekins, 89, of Charleston, died at 2:25 p.m.
Monday (Oct. 22, 2001) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

William Wright
SHELBYVILLE - William C. "Charlie" Wright, 56, of Shelbyville, died at
11:23 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 21, 2001) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Howe and Yockey Funeral
Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born Feb. 11, 1945, in Shelbyville, the son of William E. "Bud"
and Chelsea Ruth Goben Wright. He married Donna Thomas in 1965; she
preceded him in death. He married Donna Ditzler in 1974; she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Shaine Wright of Beecher City and Clark
Wright of Shelbyville; two daughters, Tonya Reynolds of Pewaukee, Wis.,
and Shonnie Arthur of Shelbyville; mother, Ruth Wright of Shelbyville; two
sisters, Kathy Edwards and Gail Depew, both of Shelbyville; one
grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one sister.
Mr. Wright retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. of Decatur.
Earl Chaplin Jr.
ENGLEWOOD, Fla. - Earl D. "Nick" Chaplin Jr., 66, of Englewood, Fla.,
formerly of Charleston, died Oct. 9, 2001.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Caudill-King Funeral
Home. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, near Greenup.
Marjorie Tame Battleson
COLUMBUS, IN - Marjorie Beth Tame Battleson, age 77, of Columbus,
IN, died at 5:15 p.m. Oct. 17, 2001, at her home in Bartholomew Co. She
was born Nov. 13, 1923, in Clay Co., Morehead, Minnesota, a son of the
late Perrin R. Fritch and the late Marjorie Best Fritch. She married Ellwood
(Dick) Tame on May 22, 1944, he passed away in February of 1979. She
married Robert D. Battleson on December 29, 1984, he survives.
Family members include: sons, Steven & Angie Tame of Mattoon, IL,
Douglas & Kristi Tame of Bowling Green, OH, and the late Ronnie Tame;
stepsons: David & Nancy Battleson of Greenville, IL, Dale & Debbie
Battleson of Omaha, NB; daughters, Ramona and John McHenry of
Mattoon, IL; stepdaughters, Donna & Bob Yardy of Mahomet, IL;
brothers, Mark Fritch of Tulsa, OK and the late Glen Fritch; sisters, Fern
Keoppel of Boise, Idaho and the late Fay Greve, Ruth Fritch and Beulah
Laursen; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob, Jared, Anthony, & Abigail,
Dakota Tame; Bobbie, Keith, Andrea, & Andrew Battleson, Jason &
Rebecca McHenry; Rachel, Bethany & Nathan Yardy.
Mrs. Battleson was a member of the Columbus Free Methodist Church.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 23, 2001 at the First Church
of the Nazarene in Mattoon, IL, with the Rev. John Ruzich officiating.
Calling hours will be Tuesday (Oct. 23, 2001) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00
p.m. at the church in Mattoon, IL. Burial will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery
in Mattoon, IL. Memorials are preferred to First Church of the Nazarene in
Mattoon, IL.
