SULLIVAN - Ruth V. Young, 82, of Sullivan, died on Friday, November 9, 2001, at 4:11 a.m. in the Arthur Home, Arthur.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials: Donor's choice.
Mrs. Young was born on April 7, 1919, in Humboldt the daughter of Richard Irvin and Estella Guill Basham. She retired from Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center as a Dietary Supervisor. She married Donald W. Young Sr. On May 15, 1937, in Charleston, he preceded her in death on December 7, 1978.
She is survived by her sons: Don Young and wife Janet of Sullivan, Bob Young and wife Adiline of Arthur; grandchildren: Cathy Floyd and husband Timothy, Mack Young and wife Leslie, Garon Young and wife Darlene, Curtis Young and wife Kathy, Kim Freeman and husband Bob and Rob Young; step-grandchildren: Lonnie Miller and Joetta Miller; great-grandchildren, Melinda Turney and Andrew Elder, Trisha and Alex Young, Brandon Young, Shelby Freeman; great-great-grandson, Jordan Turney; sisters, Nan Price of Mattoon, Grace Hepner of Tucson, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, 2 great-grandsons.
Betty Witt
WINDSOR - Betty Ruth Witt, 73, of Windsor, died at 4:45 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 8, 2001) at her residence.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor, with the Rev. Richard Eident officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Sand Creek Cemetery near Windsor.
She was born May 30, 1928, in Moultrie County, the daughter of Everett and Hazel Butler Spencer.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Goad of Mattoon, Donna Witt of Windsor and Nancy Kappes of Hindsboro; one sister, Helen Smith of Stewardson; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, two sisters and one grandchild.
Mrs. Witt was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Sullivan and the Windsor Christian Church.
NORMA B. MOULTON
Norma B. Moulton, 84, of Boise, died Saturday, November 3, 2001, at home of natural causes.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, November 9, at Morris Hill Cemetery, under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
Norma was born on November 3, 1917 in Lodge Pole, Nebraska, the daughter of Clyde J. and Blanche E. Ayers Schad. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, Nebraska. She met C.H. Moulton in Cheyenne, Wyoming and they were married in Kimball, Nebraska in 1943. They resided most of their married life in Mattoon, Illinois, where he was a railroad engineer for the New York Central Railroad. She moved to Idaho in 1993.
Norma was a fifty-year member of the Eastern Star and Job's Daughter's. Norma was a woman of faith who held her relationship with the Lord very close to her heart. She was raised during the dust bowl days in Nebraska and continued to carry her parent's pioneer spirit all of her life.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law R.W. and Cathy Moulton, her grandson, Clifford Moulton, and a granddaughter, Missy Rose Moulton, all of Riggins, ID; a sister-in-law, Eva Schad of Laramie, Wyoming; a brother-in-law and his wife, Jim and Clarice Moulton of Wood River, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Wayne Moulton of Mattoon, Illinois; Sister-in-law, Josephine Heidt of Madison, Wisconsin; a nephew, Joel Schad of Casper, Wyoming, and two nieces, Karla Schad Cole of Laramie, Wyoming and Kay Campbell of Laramie, Wyoming.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband C.H. in 1968 and her daughter, Bonnye Moulton in 1997.
Her family suggests memorials be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, Fairfax Ave. and Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84103
Richard "Dick" Beals
CHARLESTON, IL - Richard E. "Dick" Beals, 58, of Charleston, Illinois, formerly of Greenup and Trilla, Illinois, died at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday (November 6, 2001) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County, IL.
The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Friday (November 9, 2001) at the Free Methodist Church, in Neoga, IL, with the Rev. Steve Massengill officiating. Burial will be in Beals Cemetery Trilla, IL. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. today (November 8, 2001) at the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, IL, and one hour before the service on Friday at the church.
He was born September 5, 1943, in Sedgwick County, Kansas, to Harry N. and Florence L. (Baugh) Beals.
Survivors include stepmother, Mrs. Lela Beals of Greenup, IL; sisters, Sue Nichols of rural Neoga, IL and Marlene Vincent and husband Paul of Toledo, IL; brothers, H. Fred Beals of Greenup, IL, Gary Beals of Toledo, IL and Jerry Baugh and wife Mary Jane of Friend, Neb.; stepbrothers, Don Barnes and wife Margie of Greenup, IL and Terry Barnes and wife Betty of Watson, IL; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Beals had been handicapped for several years. He attended the Free Methodist Church in Neoga, IL.

ALBERT ALLEN BIGGS
ARCOLA, IL - Albert Allen Biggs, 79, of Arcola, IL, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2001 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2001 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 E. Main St., Arcola, IL. Rev. Margaret Misal will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2001 at the funeral home.
Albert was born September 20, 1922 in Arcola, IL. He was a son of Charles R. and Susie (Seitz) Biggs. He married Margaret Sylvester on November 19, 1942 in Tuscola, IL
Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Biggs of Arcola, IL; 1 son, Richard E. Biggs and his wife Vickie of Arcola, IL; 2 granddaughters, Dena Eggers and her husband William of Toledo, IL and Darla Hackleman and her husband Damon of Champaign, IL; 1 great-granddaughter, Hannah Eggers of Toledo, IL; 1 step-great-granddaughter, Lacey Eggers of Toledo; 1 brother, Everett Biggs of Arcola, IL; 1 sister, Mildred Smith and her husband Paul of Tucson, AZ; several nieces and nephews.
His parents; one brother, William; and one sister, Blanche preceded him in death.
Albert was a member of the Moose and Eagles Clubs in Mattoon.
Albert farmed in the Arcola area his entire life and officially retired in 1987, but he stayed very active in the farming.

Elaine Cox
ARCOLA - Elaine Eleanora Cox, 85, of Arcola, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 6, 2001) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Edwards Funeral Home, Arcola, with the Rev. Kent Conover officiating. Burial will be in Caldonia Cemetery, Sparta. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 29, 1915, in Sparta, the daughter of Chesley and Elizabeth Sykes. She married Lowell Cox in 1963; he died in 1999.
Survivors include one son, Richard Hagan of Arcola; one daughter, Ruth DeAngelo of Benton; one stepson, Bob Cox of Tampa, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Pat McFadyen Thompson of Houston; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one stepson.
Mrs. Cox was a waitress for several years and later worked for Olan Mills Photography. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Arcola and the Sparta United Methodist Church.
Jim Tedrick
CASEY - Myron Ray "Jim" Tedrick, 90, of Casey died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 6, 2001) at Heartland Manor, Casey.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, with the Rev. Tom Marsh officiating. Burial with military rites will be conducted by the Casey VFW Post 5762 at Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 24, 1911, in Vandalia, the son of John W. Tedrick and Sarah Mamie Freeze Tedrick. He married Eugenia Winifred "Tibby" Barker Tedrick in 1937; she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sharon Rue of Casey and Nancy Cummins of Lake Zurich; one sister, Audrey Hoffman of Vandalia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Tedrick was a retired history teacher and coach, having taught in Catlin and Casey. He was also Clark County superintendent for 20 years. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the First Christian Church of Casey, the Casey Country Club and the Clark County Retired Teachers Association.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Champaign.
GEORGE TUTWILER
CHARLESTON - George Tutwiler, 70, of Charleston, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
A graveside funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2001 at Mound Cemetery with Reverend Billy O. Hall officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Charleston V.F.W. Post. Visitation will be from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home.
George was born September 1, 1931 at Charleston, son of George and Vonnie Lee Tutwiler. Survivors include two sisters: Wilma Smith of Charleston and Alice Pennington of International Falls, MN. Two nieces, who were his caregivers, Fern Carver of Charleston and Ruby M. Deckard of Camargo, IL. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
George was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War, and a member of the Mattoon American Legion. He worked as a laborer through Union Local #171. After retiring, his hobby was collecting aluminum cans for recycling.
Lois Greathouse
SULLIVAN - Lois Greathouse, 86, of Sullivan, formerly of Hindsboro, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday (Nov. 5, 2001) at the Illinois Masonic Home, Sullivan.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mound Cemetery, Charleston, with Pastor Tony Crouch officiating.
She was born March 1, 1915, in Charleston, the daughter of William and Gwendolyn Griffith. She married Wayne Greathouse in 1935; he died in 1976.
Survivors include one son, Dale Greathouse of Oakland; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons and one brother.
Mrs. Greathouse was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of the Hindsboro Christian Church and 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
RUTH KITE
Ruth Elizabeth Brunson Kite, age 77, of Mattoon, passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2001, at her residence.
Funeral services celebrating her life will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Schilling Funeral Home with the Reverend Ron Dickinson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from Noon until service time on Thursday afternoon at the funeral home.
Ruth was born June 16, 1924, in Coles County, a daughter of William and Clara Switzer Runner. She married Harold O'Day in 1943 and he preceded her in 1955. She married Otis Brunson in 1971 and he preceded her in 1988. She married Fred Kite in 1994 and he preceded her in 2000. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Overmeyer; three brothers, Alfred Runner, Edsel Runner and Virgil Runner; and one infant sister, Dorothy Runner.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharyl King and husband Gary and Patti Woodard, all of Mattoon; two stepsons, Glenn Brunson and wife Bonnie of Allenville and Michael Brunson and wife Pat of Mattoon; son-in-law, Henry Overmeyer of Neoga; three sisters, Catherine Phillips of Mattoon, Lela Ames of Lerna and Laura Vinson of Arlington, Texas; nine grandchildren, Dana, David, Melissa, Sherry, Rachelle, Amy, Shawn, Cole and Christopher; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kite formerly was employed with the Mattoon Garment Factory for twenty years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mattoon.
