Mrs. Madge Bernice Dooley, 68, died at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at her residence, 823 W. O'Gara St., Harrisburg.
She married Albert "Bud" Dooley on Feb. 14, 1947. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1975.
She was born on Aug. 31, 1930 in Stonefort, to the late Amol and Bernice (Betts) Carlson.
She was a member of the Spillertown General Baptist Church and was active in Girl Scouts of America Shagbark Council for 15 years.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Lee and Sandy Dooley of Rock Springs, Wyo.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ruth Hall of Muddy and Lisa and David Landis of Harrisburg; a grandson, Adam Thomas Dooley of Rock Springs; two granddaughters, Brandy Michelle Dooley of Rock Springs, and Mrs. Shawn (Brooklyn) Sivels of Eldorado; two great-grandchildren, Mercedes Ann Dooley and Austin Sivels.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Samuel Taylor, and a sister, Agnes Farley Hicks.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Edward "Shorty" Alsip will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg.
Lois Graves
Mrs. Lois Graves, 88, of 22550 Shain Cemetery Rd., Norris City, died at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at Eldorado Care Center.
On Sept. 6, 1934, she married Jess Graves. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1975.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1910 in Inman, to the late Otis and Lucy (Burch) Bryant.
Mrs. Graves was a member of the Omaha Nazarene Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. George (Deloris) Zoph of Norris City; a son, Frank Graves of Omaha; a sister, Virginia Hudgins of Eldorado; two grandchildren, Frank Graves Jr. of Omaha and Terry Zoph of Eldorado.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Joe Patton will officiate and burial will be in Shain Cemetery at Norris City.
John Marvin White
John Marvin White, 85, of 1101 Moore St., Eldorado, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 1999 at Eldorado Care Center.
He was born on May 11, 1913, in Lawton, Okla. to the late J.P. and Mary Ann (Edgmond) White.
He retired as an oil well pumper.
Surviving are two sons, John Paul White of Ashtabula, Ohio and Marion White of Eldorado; two daughters, Betty Morris of Eldorado and Carolyn Young of Millington, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by grandchild, three brothers and six sisters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado, where friends may call from 12 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery near Eldorado.
Rodney Smock
A graveside memorial service for Rodney Smock, 83, of Tucson, Ariz., will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 1999 at Fluorine Cemetery at Rosiclare. The Rev. Vernon Shaw Jr. will officiate.
Mr. Smock, a former resident of Rosiclare, died April 4, 1999 in the Tucson General Hospital.
He was a retired miner.
Surviving are two sisters, Mayme Wallace and Myrtle Moore; and a niece, Carlene Shockley, all of Rosiclare.
Ronald F. Meyer
Ronald F. Meyer, 73, of Las Vegas, Nev., died Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at 7 a.m. in Las Vegas.
He was born Feb. 12, 1926, in New York City, to the late Albert and Ouida (Ruben) Meyer.
He retired as a space engineer and was a World War II Air Force veteran.
Surviving are a daughter, Onzalee Fanning of Glen Rock, N.J.; a son, Dan Muenstermann of Las Vegas; a cousin, Dorothy Leibowitz of Longboat Key, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Michael Callaghan, Kevin Fanning and Lindsay Fanning, all of Glen Rock.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 1999 at Cottage Grove Cemetery at Equality.
Vickery Funeral Chapel of Equality is in charge of the arrangements.

Gladys Mae Parks
Mrs. Gladys Mae Parks, 90, of Thompsonville, died at 7:55 a.m. Tuesday 27, 1999 at the home of her daughter in West Frankfort.
She married Marion Parks on Oct. 19, 1927. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1962.
She was born on Jan. 8, 1909, in Franklin County to the late Ameal and Ardine (Troops) Doering.
Mrs. Parks was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert E. and Marie Parks of Thompsonville, Jess and Goldie Parks of Fairfield and Bill and Phyllis Park of Thompsonville; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Dor McCormick of Lockport, Frances and Vic Pearce of West Frankfort, Doris and Fred Ellis of Murphysboro and Sheila Wece of West Frankfort; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, and a grandchild.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. John West will officiate and burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, south of Thompsonville.
Grace M. Cummins
Mrs. Grace M. Cummins, 88, of 809 Park St., Eldorado, died at 9:48 a.m. Monday, April 26, 1999 in Ferrell Hospital at Eldorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cummins in 1967.
Mrs. Cummins was born on Sept. 11, 1910, in Equality to the late George and Ellen (Ward) Sullivan.
She was a member of the Rocky Branch Social Brethren Church.
Surviving are a son, Carl Cobb of Tacoma, Wash.; two daughters, Irene Tedford of Bourbonnais and Brenda Cummins of Eldorado; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two nieces, Helen Rice and Ellen Ingersoll; and a nephew, Bill Ewell.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Hubert Bradley will officiate and burial will be in Cottage Grove Cemetery.
Anna Margaret Morgan
Mrs. Anna Margaret Morgan, 87, widow of Gordon Morgan, formerly of Rosiclare, died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 1999 in the Pope County Care Center at Golconda.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelene and Dale Stone of Rosiclare, Ruby and Bob Buchanan of Rural, Golconda; a sister, Beatrice Cox of Harrisburg; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Gordon, two brothers, Rodney Hurford and Barnard Hurford, a sister, Earlene Lee, and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will precede burial at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Fluorine Cemetery in Rosiclare. The Rev. Roy Lee Baker will officiate and burial will be in the Fluorine Cemetery at Rosiclare.
There will be no visitation at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare.
Silas H. Gordon
Silas H. Gordon, 76, of Springfield, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at St. John's Hospice.
He was born on Nov. 2, 1922, the son of George W. and Mary (Kirk) Gordon.
He married Elvine Torian, she preceded him in death. He later married Virginia Portee and she preceded him in death. In 1980, he married Arline Auker. She died on June 9, 1993.
Mr. Gordon was owner and operator of Captain Worm Bait Shop in Harrisburg. He was a World War II Army Veteran CPL, 8th Air Force Headquarters, 461st Aviation Squadron and a member of the American Legion in Harrisburg.
Survivors include a son, Silas E. and wife, Genoveva Gordon of Springfield; four stepsons, William and wife, Dorothy Fossie, Wesley and wife, Mary Fossie, all of Murphysboro, Lowell Moss of Chicago, and Harold Newsom of Harrisburg; four daughters, Lana and husband, Ron Hayes of Houston, Texas, Connie and Sian Gordon, of Springfield, and Rose Mary Givens of Lansing, Mich.; seven step-daughters, Detra Tucker of Springfield, Marquetta Newsom of Carrier Mills, Wilma Fossie, Julie Fossie, Brenda Alexander and Barbara and husband, Orlin of Campbell, all of Elgin, and Mary Fossie of Peoria.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Keela Gordon of Lancaster, Texas, Kandice Gordon of Springfield, Monique Hayes and Justin Hayes, both of Houston, Texas, Faith Givens and Jamison Givens, both of Lansing; 19 step-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer Gibson and Edward Gibson, and two sisters, Elizabeth Russ and Oletha Gordon.
Burial was in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield on Monday, April 26, 1999.
