Mrs. Rosalee Fark, 67, wife of James Fark, of 890 Jenny Ridge Rd., Carrier Mills, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, 1999 at St. Mary Medical Center, Evansville, Ind.
She was born on July 17, 1931, in Evansville, Ind. to the late Earl and Ada (Van Bibber) Beard.
Mrs. Fark was a member of the Land Street Missionary Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Kimberly Bruce, Brenda Lisa Patterson, and Sheila Bruce, all of Harrisburg and Pam Bruce of Metropolis; a brother, Terry Beard of Rushville, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sons, Thomas Brown, James O. Fark Jr., Heath Fark and Keith Fark.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The Rev. Kendall Jones will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery at Harrisburg.
Anna L. Somers
Ms. Anna L. Somers, 83, of Canton, died at 12:10 a.m. Monday, April 26, 1999 in Graham Hospital Extension Care.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1916, in Harrisburg, to the late Jess and Netta (Abney) Moore.
She married Fred Somers on Sept. 14, 1935 in Harrisburg. He preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1981.
Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Strode of Canton, Peggy Frank of Irvine, Calif., and Judy Cully of Athens; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nina Thompson of Canton and Marilouise Ulrey of Redfield, Ark.
She was a legal secretary for Lawrence McMunn in Canton for many years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton, Order of The Eastern Star in Canton and the local Daughters of the American Revolution.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Murphy Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton, where visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The Rev. Larry Campbell officiated and burial was in the White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Canton.
Leonard L. Lindsey
Memorial services for Leonard L. Lindsey will be held Saturday, May 1, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Ingram Hill Baptist Church.
He died Dec. 27, 1998 at the Shand's Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla.
Surviving are his wife, Corinne (Smith) Lindsey, formerly of Harrisburg; two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Leslie) Winfrey of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Lisa Lindsey of Charlotte, N.C., five sisters, and two brothers from the Herrin area.
The Rev. David Gilley will conduct the service.
The ashes will be interred in Ingram Hill Cemetery.
Hazel Potter
Mrs. Hazel Potter, 84, of 10 E. National St., Harrisburg, died at 3:45 a.m. Friday, April 30, 1999 at her home.
She was the widow of Samuel R. Potter.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Nancy Potter of Kansas City, Mo.; and a sister, Muriel Partain of Harrisburg.
Further family details and funeral arrangements will be announced later from Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
Leo Clarida
Leo Clarida, 91, of Carrier Mills, died at 8:32 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 1999 in the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1907, in Brushy Township to the late Jess and Emma (Allen) Clarida.
Mr. Clarida retired from Peabody Coal Mine and was a Protestant by faith.
On April 16, 1933, he married the former Mildred Hickman. She survives. Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Karen Clarida of Harrisburg; a daughter, Judy Pemberton of Marion; a brother, William J. Clarida Sr. of Eldorado; a sister, Virginia White of Galatia; six grandchildren, Brynn and Lindsey Clarida, Audrey Poole, Amy Schuhadt, Kelly Martin and John Clarida; and three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Katrina and Johnathan Martin.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Dale Clarida and a sister, Loretta Sanders.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The Rev. Vola Sittig will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery at Harrisburg.
Charles "Red" Kingston
Charles "Red" Kingston, 82, of 400 Park St., Shawneetown, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, former Pauline Greer. They were married on July 3, 1943. Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Marilyn Rogers of Shawneetown and Mike and Dawn Kingston of Homer; three sisters, Emma Jane Wallace of Equality, Dolly Wheeler of Rantoul, and Eva Hanes of Sydney; four grandchildren, Sam Rogers, Sandra Riley, Ashley and Lance Kingston; and five great-grandchildren, Lara Riley, Samuel, Dean, Mandy and Lauren Rogers.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, Frank, Virgil, Joe, Sim, Ed and Orval Kingston, two half-brothers, Marion and Walter Kingston, three sisters, Minnie Engelton, Maggie George and Ella Kingston, and a half-sister, Sally Payne.
He was born on March 17, 1917, in Junction to the late Sim and Dona (Roberts) Kingston.
Mr. Kingston retired as a laborer from the Cabinet Factory and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The Rev. Ron Johnson will officiate and burial will be in the McGhee Cemetery at Junction.
Military rites will be performed by the Ridgway American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War.

Graveside services for Leroy Williams, 59, of Harrisburg, will precede burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 1999 at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Harrisburg.
The Rev. Roger Lyons will officiate.
There will be no visitation at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
James Thomas Russell
Private services for James Thomas Russell, 77, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ledford Cemetery.
His wife, Evangelist Margaret Ann Russell will officiate.
Military rites will be by the Carrier Mills American Legion.
