Memorial services for Leonard L. Lindsey of Gainesville, Fla. will be held Saturday, May 1, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Ingram Hill Baptist Church.
The Rev. David Gilley will officiate.
The ashes will be interred in Ingram Hill Cemetery.
He died Dec. 27, 1998 at the Shand's Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla..
Bonnie W. Burnam
Mrs. Mark (Bonnie) W. Burnam, 71, of 805 S. Ledford St., Harrisburg, died at 1:02 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She married Mark Burnam on Aug. 25, 1925, in Mount Vernon, Ind. He preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1992.
Mrs. Burnam was born on May 5, 1907, in Belknap to the late Joseph and Cynthia (Crossland) Crawford.
She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg and the Ladies Auxiliary of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Nyla June and Charles Heffington of Stuart, Fla. a grandson, Mark and wife, Joan Heffington of Derby, Kan.; two great-grandchildren, Grant Heffington and Guy Heffington; two step-grandchildren, Gavin Moore and Garrison Moore, of Derby; and a half-sister, Wilma Huckelberry of Belknap.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Crawford, a daughter in infancy, and two sisters, Mae Abernathy and Bess Conrad.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The Rev. Ben Anderson will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Dennis Doane.
Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Belknap.
Wilma Sexton Gilliam
Mrs. Wilma (Sexton) Gilliam, 71, of Golconda, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at her home.
She was married on March 9, 1946 to James Gilliam.
He preceded her in death on July 3, 1987.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1928, in Pope County to the late Lester and Rosa (Shetler) Sexton.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Golconda and a graduate with the Class of 1947 from Golconda High School.
Mrs. Gilliam was a secretary at Pope County Elementary School for 19 years and at the Golconda Job Corps for five years.
Surviving are a special friend, Clarence Moody of Golconda; a sister-in-law, Loudean Hicks, and several cousins.
A brother preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 1999 at Aly Funeral Home in Golconda, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The Rev. Paul Sadler and the Rev. Tim Sadler will officiate.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Golconda.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Golconda.
The Rev. Wilson Rister
The Rev. Wilson Rister, 76, 2017 State St., Eldorado, died at 10:03 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was born on Oct. 23, 1922, in Omaha to the late Jess and Ivalee Ora (Brown) Rister.
He was self employed as a farmer and minister and was a World War II veteran.
He was a member of Emmanuel General Baptist Church and had been a minister for more than 40 years.
He was one of the founder of Camp Oxford Youth Camp.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Rister Nov. 17, 1990.
On April 14, 1991, he married Mary Davis. She survives. Also surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Sandy Rister, Richard and Deborah Rister and Ivan and Cheryl Rister, all of Harrisburg; four stepsons, Robert Davis of Eldorado, Mike and wife, Karen Davis of Harrisburg, Paul and Sherry Davis of Omaha, and William and wife, Sheri Davis of Harrisburg; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charlie (Mary Ann) Curry of Eldorado; two brothers, Adrian and wife, Wilma Rister of Harrisburg and Eugene and Shirley Rister of Broughton; a sister, Mrs. Harry (Reta) Awalt of Batavia.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tammy Basham, Sherie McCormick, Zachary, Matthew, Rachel, and Pam Rister; 10 step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, Kean, Kren, Karis and Ashton Whiting, Elijah, Beth Ellen and Eva Marie McCormick; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Little Chapel Church, north of Raleigh, where friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
The Rev. Jeff Rush, Steve Glenn and Charlie Curry will officiate.
Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery at Eldorado.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Camp Oxford Trust Fund.
Envelopes will be available at the church or at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado.
Perley Glen Owen
Perley Glen Owen, 82, of Broughton, died at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999 at his home.
He was born May 1, 1917 in Pope County, to the late A. W. and Minnie (Morse) Owen.
He retired from Wilcox Co. in Mount Vernon, Ind. as a tool repairman and was also employed for the Indiana Farm Bureau for several years.
He was a Navy veteran during World War II serving in the U.S. Seabees section of the Navy.
Mr. Owen was a member of the McLeansboro American Legion Post 106, Carmi Veterans of Foreign War and a member of the Broughton Masonic Lodge No. 963 for 57 years.
He was a Protestant by faith.
On July 5, 1938, in Morganfield, Ky., he married the former Opal Delane Tanner.
She survives along with a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Vicki Owen of Orchardville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine and Robert E. Barker of Broughton, Leona and Charles Reed of Crete and Virgie and Paul Ledford of Shorewood; three brothers, Harvey Owen of Clinton, Mich., Claude Owen of Broughton and Wilburn Owen of Finley, Ohio; four sisters, Essie Graham, Myrtle McDonald and Irene Partain, all of Broughton, and Genevieve Jones of Dixon; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Virgil, A.W. Jr. and Earl Owen.
Services are at 11 a.m. Sunday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, where friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The Rev. Bill Gholson will officiate and burial will be in Hickory Hill Cemetery at Broughton with military rites by American Legion Post 106.
Wayne Lanham
Wayne Lanham, 81, of 817 Land St., Harrisburg, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Galatia.
He was born Nov. 22, 1917, in Cottonwood to the late Arthur and Gussie (Strange) Lanham, but was raised in the home of the late D.O. and Elma Lanham.
Mr. Lanham retired from Sahara Coal Co. after 45 years. He was a member and a deacon at the Eldorado First Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge in Raleigh and in Detroit, Mich. He was also a Shriner and a member of the Blue Lodge.
Surviving is his wife, JoAnn Lanham of Harrisburg. They were married on Jan. 1, 1980.
Also surviving are two sons, Curtis Tite of O'Fallon, Mo. and Mike Tite of Eldorado; a daughter, Donna K. and her husband, Ron Dawes of Plano, Texas; nine grandchildren, Wesley Tite and Sheena Tite, both of Eldorado, Ryan Dawes of Plano, Rhona Pinkney of Alpharetta, Ga., Kim Sampson of Blue Grass, Iowa, Becky Moreland, of Moline, Josh, Joel, and Justin Tite, all of O'Fallon; and nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Wayne Lanham in March of 1979, three brothers, Russell, Ray and Shelby Lanham and a sister, Catherine Dallas.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Howard Scott will officiate.
Burial will be in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with Masonic services at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Gail A. Miller
Gail A. Miller, 74, of Merrillville, Ind., formerly of Harrisburg and Carrier Mills, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999 at his home.
He retired from U.S. Steel, Gary Works as main garage mechanic and was also a bus driver for Merrillville School Corp.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Dora Miller; two sons, Gale A. Miller of Crown Point, Ind. and Richard K. and wife, Donna Miller of Hebron, Ind.; a sister, Virginia Owens of Harrisburg; a brother, Jack Miller of Carrier Mills; nieces and nephews.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999 at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, where visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Pastor Dan R. Estes and Richard K. Miller will officiate.
Burial will be in the cemetery at Schererville, Ind.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Lora M. Stacey
Mrs. Lora M. Stacey, 89, of 7530 W. Melody Circle, Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of Rosiclare, died at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999 at Park View Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Surviving are a son-in-law, Floyd Joiner of Fort Wayne; a granddaughter, Mrs. Arlie (Lynda) Elam, Fort Wayne; a grandson, Michael and wife, Kathy Joiner of South Elgin; and a brother, Alvin Banks of Herod.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Datis and Mary Banks, a daughter, Molly Frances Joiner, infant twin daughters, four brothers, Alfred, John Robert, Ora and Arvil Banks, three sisters, Alpha Hubbs, Maudie Hill and Verba Gibbs.
Graveside services preceded burial at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 1999 in Good Hope Cemetery at Herod. Bro. Bob Goins officiated.
Hosick Funeral Chapel in Rosiclare was in charge of the arrangements.

Pete H. Stankunas
Memorial services for Pete H. Stankunas, 83, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.

It was Mr. Stankunas' request that his body be donated to science.
