Johnie Sivok, Sr., 64, of 205 Hilltop Rd., Harrisburg, died 4:10 a.m. Nov. 13, 2000, at his residence.
He was born January 28, 1936, in Harco to the late Andy and Teresa (Arto) Sivok.
He married Mary Ruth Carter on April 27, 1961. She survives.
Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Gaskins Funeral Home, P.C.; of Harrisburg.
Service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at Gaskins Funeral Home, P.C.
The Rev. Russell Helton will officiate. Burial is at Big Ridge Cemetery in Harrisburg.
Mr. Sivok was a coal miner.
He was a Navy veteran of Korea, a member of Ledford Baptist Church, and a member of Eldorado Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons Johnie (Marlene) Sivok, Jr. of Harrisburg, David Jewell Sivok of Harrisburg, Dennis Lane Sivok of Harrisburg; a grandson David Austin Sivok of Broughton; a granddaughter Lisa Ann Marie Sivok of Broughton; a brother Billy Sivok of Harrisburg; a sister Rosalie Farmer of Harrisburg; and a sister Elizabeth Peas of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Susan Whitehead, and a brother Andy Sivok.
Ronald Lee Bear
Ronald Lee Bear, 57, of 500 W. Sloan St., Harrisburg, died 6:20 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 18, 1943, in Havre deGrace, Md., to Leland Paul and Ada Marie (Page) Bear.
On Feb. 23, 1988, he married Elizabeth Morris Woodworth. She survives.
Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Gaskins Funeral Home, P.C., in Harrisburg.
Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at Gaskins Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold Williams will officiate.
Burial is at Lavender Cemetery in Hardin County.
Mr. Bear was self-employed as an owner of a clock shop.
He was a veteran of the Y-Branch of the Marines, a member of Saline County Historical Society and a member of the Saline County Genealogical Society.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother Ada Marie Bear of Mason City; four sons John (Renee) Woodworth of Harrisburg, Ron (Kim) Bear of Crestview, Fla., Ted (Kim) Bear of Eureka, Mo., David (Autumn) Bear of Marion; a daughter Winnie Bear of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother Jim (Joyce) Bear of Aurora, Colo.; a sister Ruth (Roger) Cohn of Pine Plains, N.Y.; two grandchildren and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father the Rev. Leland Paul Bear and a brother David Bear.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Saline Co. Historical Society.
Charles Jacobs
Charles Jacobs, 83, of McLeansboro, died 10:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital of McLeansboro.
He was born May 11, 1917, in Hamilton County to the late Lowry and Ella (Pierce) Jacobs.
He married Lovene Oldham Feb. 5, 1938, in Morganfield, Ky. She survives.
Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at Gholson Funeral Home of McLeansboro.
Service is 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Gholson Funeral Home.
The Rev. Creighton Hampton and the Rev. Charles Phelps will officiate.
Burial is in Concord Cemetery, near McLeansboro.
Mr. Jacobs was a retired welder with International Steel Corp. at Evansville, Ind., for 38 years.
He was also a farmer.
He was a member of Enfield Masonic Lodge and attended Lick Creek and Brush Harbor Baptist Church.
He served as song leader and Sunday School teacher.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons Arthur Dale (Chris) Jacobs of Kankakee, Larry Dean (Sue) Jacobs of Arnold, Mo., Mike (Kathy) Jacobs of McLeansboro, Charles DeWayne (Sue) Jacobs of Chesterfield, Mo.; three daughters Helen Sue (Bob) Stasicky of Kankakee, Janet (Joe) Anderson of Broughton, Cathy (Michael) Tick of Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters Mrs. Myrtle Carr of McLeansboro, Miss Nada Jacobs of McLeansboro; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Donald, a grandchild, two half brothers and two half sisters.
Chandra L. Ritter
Chandra L. Ritter, 26, of Murphysboro, died 2:10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room.
She was born May 10, 1974, in Pinckneyville, the daughter of Paul and Linda (Pyron) Ritter.
Visitation is 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at the Pyatt Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville and 8 a.m. till 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the funeral home.
Visitation will continue at at the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Pinckneyville until services.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Pinckneyville.

Chandra was a graduate of the Christian Fellowship High School in DuQuoin, a graduate of SIU Carbondale with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work and served her internship with Hospice of Southern Illinois in Marion.
She was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God in Pinckneyville and enjoyed playing the piano.
She is survived by her parents; a sister Christie (Ted) Hunziker of Elkville; grandfather Everett Pyron of Pickneyville; grandmother Mary Ann Ritter of DuQuoin; a niece Rachel Hunziker; a nephew Jacob Hunziker; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Virginia Pyron and grandfather Bernard Ritter.

Pauline Smith
Pauline Smith, 77, of rural Elizabethtown, died 7:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at the Willow Nursing Home of Eldorado.
She was born Jan. 24, 1923, to the late Loren and Minnie (Covert) Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers Kenneth, Raymond and Haskel Smith and a sister Lorena Hogg.
Charles Cecil Clark
Charles Cecil Clark, 72, of Carmi, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at the emergency room at White County Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1928, in Mill Shoals to the late Alvay and Lula Mossberger Clark.
He married Betty L. York on Dec. 28, 1948, in Carmi. She survives.
Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at the Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home in Carmi, and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
Service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at the Christian Church in Springerton.
Burial is in Hamack Cemetery.
Mr. Clark was a retired oil field worker.

Elaine Hood
Elaine Hood, 79, of Belleville, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at Four Fountains Nursing Home, Belleville.
She was born July 10, 1921, in Carrier Mills to the late Coy E. and Lois Nee Hensley Hood.

She was a retired School Teacher for Cahokia High School for 47 years and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She is survived by a brother James (Jane) Hood of St. Charles, Mo.; three nephews David (Alice) Hood, John (Sandra) Hood, Michael Hood; and a great-niece Erin Hood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister Betty Hood.

Carl Dennis Griffith
Carl Dennis Griffith, 47, of rural Herod, died 2:10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg.
He was born Jan. 30, 1953, in Harrisburg, to Dwight E. "Cicero Kid" Griffith and Edwarda (Phillips) Griffith.
He married Tina Iwasko on Feb. 14, 1975. She survives.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, with the Rev. Joe Poirot officiating.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home. Burial is in Sunset Garden Cemetey in Harrisburg.
Mr. Griffith was a pro bass fisherman and the owner and operator of D&G Outfitters River to River Trail Lodge.
He was a Baptist by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Griffith of Herod; one daughter, Angelique Griffith of Herod; one brother, Eugene Griffith of Harrisburg; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Clarice Joy Ewell
Clarice Joy Ewell, 68, of 927 S. Main St., Harrisburg, died at 2:22 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg.
She was born May 12, 1932, in Hardin County, to Lloyd and Katie (Hufford) Boulden.
She married Harrel G. Ewell on May 20, 1954. He survives.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, with the Rev. Mike Davis and the Rev. David Swain officiating. Visitation is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at the funeral home.
Burial is in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg.
Mrs. Ewell was a retired grocer from Ewell's Market.
She was a member of Harrisburg First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harrel G. Ewell of Harrisburg; two sons, Glen Ewell and Van Ewell, both of Harrisburg; one grandson, Austin Ewell of Harrisburg; three brothers, Albert Boulden and wife, Mary of Cleburne, Texas, Harold Boulden and wife, Jean of Las Vegas, and Calvin Boulden and wife, Sharon of Oracle, Ariz.; one sister-in-law, Zella and husband, David Jordan of Metropolis; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church or the Shriners Childrens Hospital.
Arthur J. Hinant
Arthur J. Hinant, 66, of 316 W. Church St., Harrisburg, died 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was born April 5, 1934, in Harrisburg, to Arthur J. Hinant Sr. and Mary (White) Hinant.
He married Carlene Tuttle in 1953.
