Mrs. Geraldine Fehrenbacher of Newton, IL passed away at 6:45 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2000 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. - Funeral mass will be held at 9:30 AM Friday, September 22, 2000 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Joseph Molloy celebrating mass. - Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin, IL. - Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2000 at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with a wake service at 7:00 PM. - In her memory, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas School.
Geraldine was born in Richland County, Illinois on January 4, 1922 the daughter of Joseph and Johanna (Nix) Hinterscher. - She married Hull Fehrenbacher in 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1994. - She was a homemaker and loving mother of seven children. - She lived most of her adult life in Newton, residing the last six years at the Newton Rest Haven. - She was a faithful member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church of Newton, IL and the Alter Society.
Geraldine is survived by daughters Mrs. Tom (Carolyn) Frieburg of Lisle, IL and Mrs. Joe (Susan) Ryan of Edwardsville, IL; sons Wayne (Debbie) Fehrenbacher of Montrose, IL and Dan (Janet) Fehrenbacher of Newton, IL; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. - She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, two daughters and a grandson.

Mrs. Carol Lee (Headlee) Franklin Age 46
Carol Lee Headlee Franklin of Rural Newton, Illinois passed away at 2:05 PM Monday, February 28, 2000 at her home. - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2000 at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with Dale Hood officiating. - Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. - Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, March 2, 2000 at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton. - Memorials may be made to the Lady in Pink or to the Hospice of Southeastern Illinois in her memory.
Carol was born on June 29, 1953 in Dieterich, Illinois the daughter of Barbara Rodgers. - She married Jess Lee Headlee on October 16, 1971 and he passed away on October 1, 1983. - Carol was a Certified Nurses Assistant and a Beautician. - She was a memeber of the Newton Central Christian Church.
Carol is survived by her monther Barbara Elzy of Funkhouser, Illinois; Fiance Marion Callahan of Casey, Illinois; daughter Lisa Clark of Willow Hill, Illinois; step-daughter Tammy Bushnell of Wyoming; son Bill Headlee; step-sons Dameon Franklin and Gary Franklin both of Missouri; brothers Dale (Sue) Harris of Newton, IL, James (Betty) Harris of Willow Hill, IL, Kenny (Anne) Harris of Effingham, IL; sisters Mary Ann McCoy of Mattoon, IL, Mrs. Jim (Jodi) Huntington of Effingham, IL, Mrs. Les (Glenda) Blair of Edgewood, IL, Lynn Leininger and Mrs. Gary (Cheryl) Moore all of Effingham, IL; grandchildren Jesse Clark, Dakota Clark, Cody Bushnell, and Casey Bushnell. - She was preceded in death by her husband, grandparents, and special grandmothre Ethel Rodgers who raised her.

Mrs. Mary Minerva Huddlestun Age 82
Mary Minerva Huddlestun of Yale, Illinois passed away at 5:30 AM Monday June 12, 2000 at her daughter's residence in Charleston, Illinois. - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday June 14, 2000 at the Barkley Funeral Home in Greenup will Brother Larry Stivers officiating. - Burial will be in the DeBord Cemetery in Grandvile Township Jasper County, Illinois. - Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 13, 2000 at the funeral home.
Minerva was born February 7, 1918 in Yale the daughter of Walter and Lola (Whisennand) Read. - She married Denzil Huddlestun on April 27, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1982. - Minerva was a homemaker and a member of the Yale Church of Christ.
Minerva is survived by sons Stephen Huddlestun of Shreveport, LA and Dean Huddlestun of Mahomet, IL; a daughter Susanne Andrews of Charleston, IL; a brother Stephen Read; and a great-grandchild. - She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a daughter.

Kent Richards Age 62
Kent Richards of Newton, Illinois passed away at 3:06 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 13, 2001 at the First Presbyterian Church, Newton. - Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, January 12, 2001 at the Crain Funeral Home in Newton. - Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery, Newton.
Mr. Richards was born on December 6, 1938 in Olney, Illinois the son of Delmar and Isabella (Danforth) Richards. - He married Susie Harvey on February 4, 1961 and she survives. - He owned and operated Richard's Firestone in Newton. - Memberships include the First Presbyterian Church and the Jasper County Fair Board. - Kent had been active in various civic organizations through the years.
Kent is survived by his wife Susie Richards of Newton; daughters Cheryl Kay Earnest and husband Jed Earnest of Newton and Jennifer Carter of Robinson, Illinois; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother Don Richards of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents. - Memorials may be made to the Danforth Scholarship Fund in care of the First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Charles Claxton Age 81
Mr. Claxton of Newton, Illinois passed away at 12:53 AM March 1, 2000 in St. Charles Missouri. - Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 4, 2000 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton. - Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, March 3, 2000 at the Crain Funeral Home in Newton with a 7:30 PM Masonic Service. - Graveside services will be in the Greenllawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, Illinois on Sunday March 5, 2000 at 1:30 PM with visitation from 11:00 - 1:00 PM at the Barkett Funeral Home, Mounds, Illinois.

Surviving are daughters, Vicki Hyman of East Alton, and Ava Absher of St. Louis; and a sister, Patricia Absher of Texas City, Tx. Services were in Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Bethalto. Memorials may be given to the Shriners Hospital in St. Louis, and to Voluntary Services of the Harry Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

Irene Patty Acker, 95, died Sept. 8, 1997. Her husband, Ambrose, preceded her in death. Surviving are 15 grandchildren 29 great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren. Services were through Staten Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, the Heart Association and for masses.

Ralph C. Ackerman, 86, died Jan. 15, 1997. He married Verna H. Harvey, who survives. Also surviving are brothers, Tom of Bonne Terre, Mo., and Mervin of Joliet; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were in Elias-Smith in Alton. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association and the Heart Association.

Surviving are a son, Bill of Alton, and a step-son, Robert Of Houman, La.; a daughter, Kathlyn Tillman of Bella Vista, Ar.; and a sister, Olinda Austin of Vellville, Ar. Services wre in Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be given to the Ronald McDonald House.

H. Oswald Acord, 79,died Dec. 31, 1999. He married Mabel Chilton, who survives. Also surviving are sons, Don and Rick, both of St. Louis, and Jeff of Bloomington, Mn.; a daughter, Joan Gefferth of O'Fallon; and a sister, Retha Wesley of Cottage Hills. Services were through Marks Mortuary in Wood River.

Margaret E. Adams, 97, died Jan. 21, 1997. Her husband, Leslie, preceded her in death. Surviving are daughters, Dorothy Rexford of Medora, Harriet Christianson of Jerseyville, and Marine Jones of Godfrey; and seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren. Services were in Targhetta in Medora. Memorials may be given to the Medora Unit of the Area Ambulance Service.

Surviving are sons, Harold of Hermann, Mo., and William of Bunker Hill; daughters, Harriet Edler of West Alton, and Nancy Miller of Denver, Co.; sisters, Fanny Kjer of Illmo, Mo., and Agnes Hopke of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services were through Burke-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
