Estes retired as an advertising sales representative for the former Alton Telegraph. He owned Estes Kennels in Godfrey. Also surviving are sons, Robert, Edward, Kevin, James and Thomas; daughters, Kay Iftner and Jane Estes; and 10 grandchildren. Services were through Staten Funeral Home in Alton.
