Fisher 01/20/99
Harold E. Fisher, 96, of Brussels, died Jan. 20, 1999, in Alton Memorial Hospital. He married Kathryn Held, who preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, Wayne of Alton; daughters, June Fisher of Brussels, and Doris Johnessee and Virginia Murphy, both of Alton. Services were in Staten Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be given to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey.

Wesley Leon Fisher, Sr., 69, of Brighton, died Apr. 17, 2000, in Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He married Jean Plopper, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Lee of Edwardsville; daughters, Deborah Fredenberg, and Lori Montague, both of Brighton; and sisters, Mary Belangee of Godfrey, and Lorene Christian of Alton. Services were in Targhetta Funeral Home in Brighton. Memorials may be given to the Brighton Betsey Ann Fire Department.

John O. Fite, 81, of Shipman, died Jan. 27, 1997, in St. John's Hospital in Springfield. He married Dorothy Welch, who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Shirley Grothaus of Plainview, Rita Kallal of Medora, and Maude E. Eddington of Worden; a son, Harry of Bunker Hill; sisters, Thelma Schoeneman, Esther Taggart and Verna Kahl, all of Shipman, Dorothy Strohbeck of Brighton, and Merna Buhs of Woodburn; and 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Services were in Targhetta Funeral Home in Shipman. Memorials may be given to charities of choice.

Fitzgibbons 06/06/00
Frederick M. Fitzgibbons, 67, of Roxana, died June 6, 2000, in Wood River Township Hospital. He married Lucille Harley, who survives. Also surviving are a son, William of Jerseyville; a daughter, Lisa Epps of Jerseyville; step-daughters, Theresa Willson of Indianapolis, In., and Cynthia Hallstead of Roxana; and a brother, Edward of Jerseyville. Services were in Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Bethalto. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.

Robert Joseph Flanigan, 21, of Brighton, died May 28, 2000, in Alton Memorial Hospital. Surviving are his parents, David and Deborah, and a sister, Christina, all of Brighton. Services were through Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Socity.

Marlin E. Flatt, 87, of Gilbertsville, Ky., died Nov. 13, 1999, in Oakview Nursing Home in Calvert City, Ky. He married Sarah Gass, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Adelmo Marchiori of Bethalto; a daughter, JoAnn Thornton of Keysport; and sisters, Katherine Donovan of Wood River, and Rose Schlieper of Pearl. Services were in Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Bethalto. Memorials may be given to Shriner's Hospital for Children in St. Louis.

Helen L. Fleetwood, 70, died Mar. 20, 1997. She is survived by her husband, Ray. Also surviving are sons, David of Bethalto, and Donald of Anderson, In.; a daughter, Debra Leung of Portland, Or.; and seven grandchildren. Services were through Gent's. Memorials may be given to the Vaughn Hill Church of Christ in Wood River.

Edward Earl Fleming, 76, died May 1, 1997. He married Kitty Waybright, who survives. Also surviving are sons, Richard of West Palm Beach, Fl., Jim of Charlottesville, Va., and Charles; a daughter, Sharon Wyne of Hagerstown, Md.; a brother, Russ of Godfrey; a sister, Hazel Grubb of Alton; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were through Elias-Smith in Alton. Memorials may be given to Oasis Women's Center and the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.

Randall Kent Flowers, Sr., 43, of East Alton, died Aug. 28, 1999. Surviving are a son, Randall, Jr., of East Alton; sisters, Marsha Elliott of Godfrey, Rose Browning of Fosterburg, Betty Steinacher of Carrollton, Lisa Ryan of Alton, and Karen Steward of Brighton; and brothers, Robert, Jr., and Michael, both of Alton, and Brad of Godfrey. Services were in Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Godfrey. Memorials may be given to charities of choice.

Danny Flowers, 53, died May 30, 2001. He married Rebecca Groppel, who survives. Also surviving are his parents, James and Dorothy; a son, Timothy of Jerseyville; a daughter, Tammy of East Alton; brothers, Gary of Granite City, and James of Tennessee; and sisters, Susan Hill of Granite City, and Laura Rahm of Tennessee. Services were through Marks Mortuary in Wood River.

Mae Sue Flynn, 91, of Alton, died Jan. 18, 2000, in Saint Anthony's Health Center in Alton. Her husband, Homer, preceded her in death. Surviving are sons, Richard of Alton, and Thomas of Elizabeth Town; a daughter, Anita Beatty of Alton; and a sister, Geneva Williams of Rockford. Services were in Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Godfrey. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association and Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.

Francis Xavier Folmer, 75, of Alton, died Apr. 29, 2001, in D'Adrian Convalescent Center in Godfrey. Surviving is a sister, Marie Laird of Godfrey. Services were through Burke-Fine Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be given to the Activity Department at D'Adrian.

Gloria Ruth Fones, 92, of Alton, died Oct. 19, 2000, in St. Louis. Her husband, Henry, preceded her in death. She is survived by nephews and nieces. Services were through Staten Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Corinne M. Forbes, 90, died Apr. 6, 1997. Her husband, Frederick, preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Ronald of Alton; sisters, Lucille Franz and Cosette Seal, both of Jerseyville, and Charlotte Freeman of Grafton; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were through Elias-Smith in Godfrey. Memorials may be given to St. Patrick's Church in Grafton.

Lois M. Forbes, 76, of Alton, died Sept. 4, 1997, in Saint Anthony's. She is survived by her husband, John. Also surviving is a daughter, Elaine J. Burch of Godfrey; a sister, Jacqueline Bartels of East Alton; and three grandchildren. Services were through Gent. Memorials may be given to Saint Anthony's intensive care unit.

Rose M. Forbes, 76, of Alton, died Mar. 24, 1998, in Saint Anthony's. Her husband, Henry, survives. Also surviving are a son, Charles of St. Louis; a daughter, Marilyn Koester of Florissant, Mo.; sisters, Pauline Jackson of Ladue, Mo., and Mary Rotsch of Godfrey; and five grandsons. Services were through Staten.

Calvin H. Forbes, 85, of Wood River, died Nov. 23, 1998, in V.I.P. Manor Nursing Home. He married Dorothy Sykes, who survives. Also surviving are sons, Jerry of Alton, and Dale of Oregon; daughters, Tina Roberts of Godfrey, Janice Davis of Jerseyville, Barbara Kunz of Brighton and Beatrice Forbes of Alton; and a sister, Karen of East Alton. Services were in Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Bethalto.
