Gilmore J. Melliere, 93, of Prairie du Rocher, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010 at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Waterloo. He was born July 5, 1916 In Prairie du Rocher to the late Warren and Clara (nee Heine) Melliere. Mr. Melliere is survived by his wife, Lorraine M. Melliere; children, Judy (Dale) Mueth of Waterloo, Bob (Kathy) Melliere of Sherrard and Denny (Sandy) Melliere of Red Bud; brothers Floyd (Marion) Melliere and Floyd (Marion) Melliere, both of St. Louis; a sister, Mae (the late Henry) Doerr of Waterloo; grandchildren, Aimee (Craig) Range, Sarah (Eric) Beck, Nic Mueth, Josh (Nicole) Mueth, Scott Melliere, Kelly (Scott) Ryckeghem, Brandon Melliere and Stefanie Melliere; great grandchildren, Sam, Jack, Ella and Lucy Range, Anna and Max Beck and Owen and Drew Ryckeghem. He was preceded in death by brothers Sylvester, Gervase, William and Howard Melliere; and a sister, Anna Laurent. Mr. Melliere was an operating engineer for Stotz Quarry for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, American Legion Post 622, Knights of Columbus Council 1952 and Operating Engineers Local 520. Visitation was is Thursday, Nov. 18 at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud. Funeral is Friday Nov. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher. Irene Buss, nee Cotton, 91, of Waterloo, died Nov. 21, 2010 in Waterloo. She was born July 26, 1919 in Leslie, Ark., the daughter of the late Henry and Ruth (nee Griffin) Cotton. Mrs. Buss is survived by her children, Betty Mueller, Bonnie Buss and Darryl Buss; grandchildren Denise Mueller, Jeff (Natalie) Mueller, Matthew Buss and Patrick Buss; great-grandchildren Christopher and Jillian Mueller; brothers Alvin (Edith) Cotton and Jack (Madiline) Cotton; and a sister, Billie Whitelock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer V. Buss; a sisters Jewel Gillian and Pearl Thompson; and a brother, Donald Cotton. Mrs. Buss was a member of St. Paul UCC of Waterloo. Raymond G. Notter, 85, of Waterloo, died Nov. 22, 2010 in Waterloo. He was born Aug. 29, 1925 in Waterloo, the son of the late Wayne and Caroline (nee Dietz) Notter. Mr. Notter is survived by his wife, Carmaleta Notter; step-daughter, Tyana (Stan) Melching; step-sons Kevin Meyer and Curt (Kellie) Meyer; a daughter, Tanya Faults; grandchildren Troy Melching, David and Caitlyn Meyer, Brittany and Patrick Meyer, and Rayette and Wade Faults; great-grandchildren Jordan and Bryce Melching and Mikayla Meyer; a sister, Mary Kay (Bill) Schmidt; brother, Cletus (Margie) Notter; sister-in-law, Arlene Notter; nephews and nieces, Jim (Cindy) Notter, Steve (Phyllis) Notter, Gary (Debbie) Notter, Deb (Ken) Toppins and Angie (Roger) Sickmeier; along with great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene “Gene” Notter. Mr. Notter served as a Machinist Mate Third Class aboard the U.S.S. Rescue during World War II. Mary A. Schweigert, nee VanDerAa, 64 of Waterloo, died Nov. 23, 2010 in Waterloo. She was born Jan. 14, 1946 in South Holland, the daughter of the late Leonard and Annie (nee DeYoung) VanDerAa. Mrs. Schweigert is survived by her husband, Merv Schweigert; children, Mark (Marla) Schweigert and Heidi (David) Grajek; grandchildren Christopher and Samantha Schweigert and Benjamin Grajek; a sister, Ruth Jacobs; and brothers Don (Shirley) VanDerAa and Glenn (Karen) VanDerAa; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. Emily M. Sievers Kueker, nee Rheinecker, 87, of Red Bud, died Nov. 24, 2010 surrounded by her family at Red Bud Regional Hospital. She was born April 28, 1923 in Ames, the daughter of the late Edward and Frances (nee Waldron) Rheinecker. Emily married Elmer Sievers in 1943 in Ruma. He died in 1972. She then married Wilbert F. Kueker in 1980 in Red Bud. Wilbert died in 1998. Mrs. Sievers Kueker is survived by her children, Judy Weber of St. Louis, Mo., Joyce (Dave) DuFrenne of Red Bud, Diane (Jim) Buch of Baldwin, Maxine “Mickey” Umbdenstock of Red Bud and Linda (Gary) Schoenbeck of Baldwin; a brother, Leroy Rheinecker of Red Bud; brother-in-law, Ardell Sievers of Alton; grandchildren Jeff DuFrenne, Kim (Scott) Brothers, Mike (fiancée Amber Fischer) Weber, Michelle (Joe) Minnemann, Brian Schoenbeck, Nicolas Umbdenstock and Bruce Schoenbeck; and great-grandchildren Adam and Austin, Skylar, Sierra, Kiana DuFrenne and awaiting the March arrival of Dawson Weber; along with nieces and nephews. She was born Oct. 13, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo., the late Everett and Gloria (nee Shaw) Jenkins. Ervin J. Rabbermann, 89, of Red Bud, died Nov. 29, 2010 in Red Bud. He was born Feb. 21, 1921 in Waterloo, the son of the late William H. and Elizabeth (nee Bicklein) Rabbermann. Mr. Rabbermann is survived by his wife, Edna Rabbermann, nee Nobbe; a son, David Rabbermann; grandchildren Ashley and Chelsea Rabbermann; and sisters Adele Vogt and Alice (Roy) Nobbe; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Adolph Rabbermann and Clarence Rabbermann. Mr. Rabbermann was a member St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo and the Metzger-Crook VFW Post 6504, and was a former member of the Waterloo Sportsman’s Club and the Maeystown Sportsman’s Club. David Lee York, 70, of Dupo, died Nov. 29, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo. He was born June 16, 1940 in Neelyville, Mo., son of the late Lester Yor and Viola (Henthorne) York-Nolan. Mr. York is survived by his wife, Linda York; his children, Tim (Lynette) York of San Carlos, Calif., Heather (Jon) Shepherd of Caseyville and Tony Viner; a daughter-in-law, Becky Dickinson of Dupo; grandchildren Riley and Jack Shepherd, Nicolas, Michael, Conor and Jake York, Alex Dickinson, Jason Adams and Jamie Mills; sisters Doris Miller of Columbia, Peggy (Ron) Patterson of Cherokee Village, Ark., and Toni (Scott) Marlen of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Gary (Sue) York of Columbia; and his Maltese dog , Duchess. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Moskaudaz. David was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for 43 years for the Union Pacific Railroad. Merrill L. Killingsworth,74, of Columbia died Nov. 30, 2010 at Oak Hill Care Center in Waterloo. He was born March 14, 1936 in Pinckneyville, the son of the late Clyde and Gertrude (Eicholz) Killingsworth. He married Ellen (Korves) Killingsworth in 1957 in Columbia. In addition to his wife, Mr. Killingsworth is survived by his children, Carol Craig of Festus, Mo.; Wayne (Pat) Killingsworth of Maeystown and Brian (Robin) Killingsworth of Dupo; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolores (Ralph) Peters of New Baden; and brothers Donald and Jim Killingsworth. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Gary Gress; a sister, Barbara Ude; and niece, Janice Killingsworth. Merrill was retired from Peabody Coal Co..
