Ardell M. Kinzinger, nee Pflueger, 88, of Millstadt, died Nov. 30, 2010 in Belleville. She was born Jan. 4, 1922 in Maeystown, the daughter of the late Harvey and Minnie (Fauss) Pflueger. Mrs. Kinzinger is survived by her grandchildren, Robert (Jane) Heiken, Karen (David) Crehan and William (Brooke) Heiken; great grandchildren, Samantha Heiken, Travis Hart, Pamela, Paige and William Jr. Heiken; and brothers Eugene (Arlene) Pflueger and Alvin Pflueger; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Leopold H. Kinzinger, a son, George Heiken; sister, Doris Watters; and brothers Arnold and Levi Pflueger. Ardell was a member of Zion Evangelical Church and the Millstadt VFW Auxiliary. Visitation is Saturday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral will immediately follow with Pastor Darrell Weber officiating. Mrs. Kinzinger will be buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery.
Ruth A. Huebner, nee Bachelier, 71, of Waterloo, died Nov. 30, 2010 in Waterloo. She was born Dec. 7, 1938 in Prairie du Rocher, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ida (nee Laurent) Bachelier. Mrs. Huebner is survived by her children, Derrick (Stacie) Huebner, Chris Hansell and Suzanne (Dale) Aycock; grandchildren Lane, Bailey and Trevor Huebner, Kasey Hansell and Brittany and Robert Aycock; sisters Pauline Barbeau, Dina Godfrey, Jenine (John) Casey and Marquita (Don) Rench; and brothers Tom Bachelier and Martin (Shari) Bachelier; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Huebner; a sister, Audrey Thompson; and a brother, Franklin Bachelier. Ardell was an owner of Huebner Concrete Contracting and also a homemaker. Visitation is Thursday, Dec. 2, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home. A service will immediately follow with Father Osang Idagbo officiating. Mrs. Huebner will be buried at a later date. Bob G. Small, 77, of Columbia, died Oct. 3, 2010 at Scenic Nursing and Rehab Center in Herculaneum, Mo., following an extended battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born Nov. 10, 1932 in East St. Louis, the son of the late William and Pearl (nee Burris) Small. Mr. Small is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia (nee Farrar) Small; sons Scott (Kay) Small and Brett Small; daughters Lisa Sue Mohr and Stephanie Steinhardt; grandchildren Aaron Paul (Nikki) Steinhardt, Jennifer Small, Taylor Small, Robbie Small and Harrison Mohr; great-grandchildren Ashley and Ryan Steinhardt; a brother, Claude (Marie) Small; and a sister, Betty (Scotty) Marlen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Small; his sisters Bernice Hotto and Dorothy Maxwell; and his grandson, Joshua Small. Bob served in the U.S. Navy and later established Nu Way Lighting in Dupo. He and his wife were co-owners of Small’s Real Estate. Bob was active in the community, serving on the Cahokia School Board and the Kaskaskia River Board. He was a member of the Masons, the Shriners and Jaycee’s. In his spare time, Bob loved to fish, camp and tinker on his land. Visitation is Wednesday, Oct. 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dashner-Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo. Richard Lee Allen, 42, of Waterloo, died Oct. 6, 2010 in Red Bud following a vehicle accident. He was born March 22, 1968 in Englewood, Colo., the son of Ray and Margaret Allen of Montgomery, Mo. In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Cynthia Allen of Waterloo; sons Zachery and Jeremy Allen; a sister, Amanda Dace of Monroe City, Mo., and a niece. Mr. Allen was a member of Local 42. A memorial gathering will take place Saturday, Oct. 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at DeFabio Funeral Home.
Danny Allen Garner, 55, of Prairie du Rocher, died Oct. 7, 2010 at his residence. He was born Oct. 1954 in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Claude and Lelia (nee Schaper) Garner. Mr. Garner is survived by his children, Christopher (Michelle) Garner and Jamie (Jerry) Pelate; grandchildren Triston Garner and Kaden, Alena, and Drake Pelate; and siblings James Michael Garner, Terry Lee (Jacqueline) Garner, Claudia Kay Herndon and Mark Ernest (Dawn) Garner; along with an aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Cara Garner, and nephew Nick Garner. Mr. Garner was a veteran U.S. Army. Charles H. Marshall, 87, of Columbia, died Oct. 8, 2010, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis, Mo. He was born Aug. 28, 1923 in Chicago, the son of the late Charles and Alice (Herrman) Marshall. He married Evelyn (Keiner) Marshall in DuQuoin in 1952. She died in 2004. Mr. Marshall is survived by his sons Eric Marshall and Gary Marshall, both of Columbia; along with other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Marshall. Mr. Marshall served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a retired cartographer with the Defense Mapping Agency in St. Louis, Mo. Charles attended St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia, and was intrigued by the Swedish culture. Roger Lee Stearns Sr., 63, of Farmington, Mo., died Oct. 7, 2010 in Farmington. He was born Jan. 29, 1947 in Orange, Calif., the son of the Edward and Helen (nee Davie) Stearns. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stearns is survived by his wife, Regina (nee Baker) Stearns; children Roger (Melody) Stearns Jr., Victoria Stearns (Steven) Kehrer and Valarie Stearns Nesbit; grandchildren Chelsie Burnette, Dylan Nesbit, Phoebie Nesbit, Janie Kehrer, Kyle Kehrer, Jakob Carlson, Connor Stearns and Parker Stearns; brothers Wesley (Teri) Stearns and Kevin (Janette) Stearns; a niece, Cara Garner; and nephew, Nicholas Garner. Ardell M. Fauss, nee Mentel, 99, of Effingham, formerly of Waterloo, died Oct. 13, 2010, the daughter of the late George and Frances (nee Lang) Mentel. She was born Dec. 14, 1910 in Waterloo. Mrs. Fauss is survived by her son, Vic (Jeanne) Fauss; grandchildren Matthew (Joyce) Fauss, Heather (Jake) Hoene and Stephen Fauss; great-grandchildren Taylor Fauss, Ethan Fauss, Eli Fauss, Abigail Hoene and Ella Hoene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J Fauss; and a sister, Cari Zimmer. Visitation is Monday, Oct. 18, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. Robert A. Strong, 77, of Prairie du Rocher, died Oct. 14, 2010 at his home. He was born March 16, 1933 in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Charles and Hattie (nee Black) Strong. Mr. Strong is survived by his wife, Virginia Strong nee Percy, children Deborah (Michael) Glossip, Sharon (Jack) Bartosik, Roger (Kimberly) Strong, Sandra (Ken) Kolmer and Audrey (Ken-Boy) Kelly; grandchildren Shelby (John) Satko, John Michael Glossip, Robyn Glossip, Jason (Kristine) Bartosik, Aaron Bartosik, Jamie (Josh) Matthews, Nathan (Amy) Strong, Nicki Strong, Kelli Strong, Casey Kolmer, Connor Kolmer, Cole Kolmer, Carter Kolmer, Jessica Kelly, Tait Kelly, Tia Kelly and Rockie Kelly; along with nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael R. Strong; a granddaughter, Wendy Glossip; brother, Charles Strong; and sisters Dorothy Madl and Helen Strong. Mr. Strong served in the United States Navy and attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Renault. Adrienne Monet Glauber, 19, of Freeburg, died Oct. 15, 2010 as the result of an automobile accident in Columbia. She was born Jan. 4, 1991, in Belleville, the daughter of David Charles Glauber and Gloria Kay (nee Middendorf) Glauber of Freeburg. In addition to her parents, Ms. Glauber is survived by her younger sister, Erika Simone Glauber of Freeburg; special friend John Dennis of Belleville; paternal grandmother, Mary (nee Renner) Glauber of Mascoutah; maternal grandmother, Jeanette (nee Wienstroer) Middendorf of St. Libory; aunts and uncles Paul (Karen) Middendorf, Beverly (Steve) Maher, Jeffrey (Lisa) Middendorf; Gerad (Jan) Middendorf and Mary Lyles; cousins Beth Middendorf, Adam and Alex Hill, Mallory and Renee Middendorf, Andre and Sarah Middendorf and Melissa, Michael and Gregory Lyles; and her beloved dog, Scooter. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Charles Glauber; and her maternal grandfather, Paul Middendorf. Adrienne graduated from Freeburg High School and was currently working towards an associate degree in fine arts at Southwestern Illinois College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was making plans to transfer to Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. Adrienne was passionate about music, art, her friends, and having fun. She, her sister Erika, and her cousins, Mallory and Renee had a Beatles tribute band called the Fab Four. Adrienne sang and played guitar and trombone. She was also an adjunct member of the band, Still Montgomeries. Visitation is Monday, Oct. 18, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Freeburg. Funeral is Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. at the church with Father Mark Reyling officiating. Ms. Glauber will be buried at St. Liborius Cemetery in St. Libory.
