Ardell Lozier nee Mueller, 86, of Waterloo, died October 30, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born April 22, 1919, in Waterloo, the daughter of the late John and Christine Mueller nee Werling. She was married to the late Roy Lozier. She is survived by her brother Milton J. Mueller of Florissant, Mo.; niece Tonya (Bob) Kleekamp of St. Charles County, Mo.; nephew John (Rachel) Mueller of St. Louis County, Mo.; and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Lozier was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. Gertrude F. Rengstorf nee Van DeRiet, 90, of Waterloo, died October 31, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born October 16, 1915, in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Van DeRiet nee Koestner. She was married to the late Elmer Rengstorf. She is survived by her daughters Carol (Harvey) Charlton of Hannibal, Mo., and Sharon (Jack) McClenahan of Belleville; son-in-law Ray Doiron of Red Bud; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Olive L. Happy nee Schroeder, 89, of Columbia, died September 1, 2005, in St. Louis. She was born July 16, 1916, in Columbia, the daughter of the late Gustav and Agatha Schroeder nee Hardnacke. She was married to the late Curtis Happy. She is survived by her sons Donald J. Happy of Columbia and Roger Happy of Columbia; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers Norman Schroeder of Columbia and Claude Schroeder of Columbia; and other relatives and friends. Earl H. Osterhage, 82, of Waterloo, died September 2, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born November 5, 1922, in Waterloo, the son of the late Emil and Edna Osterhage nee Klohr. He was married to Nadine Osterhage nee Loewe. He is survived by his wife; children Sandy Osterhage of Waterloo, Linda (Charles) Wallace of Waterloo, Randy (Karen) Osterhage of Waterloo, Joy (Ronald) Hoffmann of Waterloo, and Scott (Lorrie) Osterhage of Waterloo; grandchildren Grant Osterhage, Katherine Wallace, Amanda Wallace, Nicholas Osterhage, Bethany Osterhage, Sarah (Karl) Krebel, Brian (Tara Miller) Hoffmann, Amy Osterhage and Eric Osterhage; great-granddaughter Klair Krebel; brother Warren (Ada) Osterhage of Waterloo, nephew Al (Melinda) Studt of Columbia; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Alice Studt, and brother-in-law Richard Studt. William Gallagher, 78, died September 7, 2005, in Columbia. He was born January 6, 1927, in East St. Louis, the son of the late John and Stella Gallagher nee Walsh. He married Marlene Gallagher nee Dannehold in 1953; she survives him. He is also survived by his children William J. Gallagher of Columbia, Linda Gardner of Springfield, Terry Gallagher of Chicago, Patrick (Toni) Gallagher of St. Louis, and Paul (Angela) Gallagher of St. Louis; granddaughter Stacey Gardner; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Catherine Gallagher, Helen Rehmus and Ann Weir, and brother John T. Gallagher. Mr. Gallagher was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a member of American Legion Post #581 and 40/8 Voiture #926. He was a former alderman and member of the police board. Dorothy E. Fernandez nee Kollme, 93, of Waterloo, formerly of St. Louis, died September 7, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born December 1, 1911, in East St. Louis, the daughter of the late Harrison L. and Bessie E. Kollme nee Allen. She was married to the late Joseph “Pete” Fernandez. She is survived by her daughters Donna Rheinecker of Waterloo and Darielle (Doyle) Perkins of Fenton, Mo.; grandchildren Jeff (Sue) Rheinecker, Robert (Debbie) Rheinecker, Barbara Rheinecker, JoAnn Rheinecker, Lyn Falk, John (Janeen) Rheinecker, Linda (Matt) Mosley and Julie (Don) Jones; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. William W. “Bill” Richno Jr., 59, of Red Bud, died September 9, 2005, in Red Bud. He was born September 29, 1945, in Springfield, the son of the late William and Jeanne Mae Richno St. nee Cooper. He married Shirley Richno nee Horrighs in 1966. He is survived by his wife; son William “Billy” W. Richno of Red Bud; daughter Rebecca “Becky” Richno of Red Bud; grandchildren Clarissa Richno, Ashley Finch, Zoë Bingham, Katie Lane Richno, Skylr Blu Richno and Jacqueline West; sister Linda Baker of Riverton; and brothers Steve Rincho of Ocean View, Hawaii, and Kim Richno of Paris. He was preceded in death by his parents and son David Comstock. Mr. Richno was a coal miner with Ziegler/Old Ben Coal Mine in Sparta for 33 years. William “Bill” Mallory, 60, of Columbia, died September 10, 2005, in Columbia. He was born October 13, 1944, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Bill and Alice Sudmeier nee Gray. He married Barbara Mallory nee Adams in 1989. He is survived by his wife; children Robin (Kevin) Meyer of Farmington, Mo., and Jeff (Julie) Mallory of Terredulac, Mo.; stepchildren David Walster of Dupo, and Stephanie Walster of St. Louis; grandchildren Seth Meyer, Zach Meyer and Molly Mallory; sisters Joy Burton of Phoenix, Ariz., and Brenda Whalen of Tucson, Ariz.; brother Scott (Robin) Mallory of Lenexa, Kan.; mother-in-law Dorothy E. Adams nee Srock of Waterloo; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Ron Burton. Mr. Mallory was retired from Crown Cork & Seal Can Company. He was a member of Columbia Sportsman’s Club and National Education Association, and was a retired member of United Steel Workers of America. He was an avid deer hunter. Melvin “Butch” Stumpf, 70, of East Carondelet, died September 13, 2005, in East Carondelet. He was born October 13, 1934, in Belleville, the son of the late Herbert W. and Arthena Stumpf nee Kalbfleisch. He married Marion Stumpf nee Leister in 1966. He is survived by his wife; son Kurt (Mickie) Stumpf of Waterloo; daughter Kelly (Keith) Denzl of St. Louis; grandchildren A.J. Denzl, Ashley Denzl, Devin Stumpf and Paige Stumpf; sister Marilyn (Rudy) Landgraf of Columbia; and other relatives and friends. Mr. Stumpf attended Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo. He retired from ABF in St. Louis as an over the road truck driver and was a member of Goldwing Road Riders Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Lois J. Rexinger nee Orrell, 80, of Waterloo, died September 15, 2005, in Stratham, N.H. She was born April 13, 1924, in Casey, the daughter of George and Faye Orrell nee Swim. She was married to the late Edmund Rexinger. She is survived by her daughter Mylia (Michael) Fairley nee Reynolds of Stratham, N.H.; grandchildren Heather Fairley and Fay Fairley; sisters Roberta Hern of Waterloo, Marian Maag of Waterloo, and Georgia (Ervin) Borcharding of Waterloo; and aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Rexinger was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She and her husband lived in Alameda, Calif., for nearly 25 years, where Mrs. Rexinger was active with First Presbyterian Church, serving as deaconess for many years. Her efforts also helped save the church from closing. She participated in Bible studies and attended conferences of the Fellowship of Christian Airline Personnel with her daughter and son-in-law. She returned to Waterloo in 1992. She traveled around the world with her husband, daughter and sister. She was an excellent “puzzler” and spent hours pouring over difficult crosswords and acrostics.
