Clifford H. Schrader, 93, of Columbia, died July 3, 2010, at Oak Hill Care Center in Waterloo. He was born Feb. 27, 1917, in Chesterfield, Mo., the son of the late Waldemar and Pauline (Yokel) Schrader. Mr. Schrader married Victoria (Guebert) Schrader in 1947 in Red Bud. She died in 2008. Mr. Schrader is survived by his daughter, Susan (Rick) Stemler of Columbia; a brother, William Schrader; sister, Beatrice Kuzmich; and a sister, Lillian Zierenberg, all of Chesterfield. Mr. Schrader served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Cliff graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and served as an alderman and longtime city clerk with the City of Columbia. He had retired from sales at K-Mart in St. Louis. Mr. Schrader was a member of American Legion Post 581, the Columbia Rotary Club and St. Paul Lutheran Church of Columbia. Visitation is Monday, July 5, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral is Tuesday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia with Pastor Tony Troup officiating. Robert J. Liddy, 62, died July 3, 2010, the son of the late Bertram Liddy of Red Bud and Cecilia (nee Harsey) Liddy of Waterloo. Mr. Liddy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rita M. (nee Stuesse) Liddy; his children, USAF Lt Col Robert (Jeanette) Liddy (Ret) of Albuquerque, NM., Kathryn (Steve) Grzesik, Therese “Jane” Liddy; USAF Col. Steven Liddy and Suzanne (Dr. Timothy) Gutierrez of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Gina (Mike) Prokopeak, Robert Joseph (Emily) Liddy, Kathleen and James Grzesik, Corinne and Michael Liddy; and Michelle and Timothy Gutierrez Jr.; a brother, Daniel (Celeste)Liddy; and a brother in-law, Zachary (Therese, nee Stuesse) Davisson IV; along with cousins in Monroe and Randolph Counties. Mr. Liddy served with the U.S. Army’s 71st Infantry Division during the European campaign of World War II. He graduated from of Saint Louis University High School and Saint Louis University. He was employed as an accountant. Visitation is Wednesday, July 7, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kutis Funeral Home on Gravois Ave. in St. Louis. Funeral is Thursday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church in St. Louis. Mr. Liddy will be buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Twila Feldmeier, nee Asselmeier, 82, of Fults, died July 4, 2010 in Waterloo. She was born Jan. 11, 1928 in Valmeyer, the daughter of the late Albert and Lydia (nee Heusohn) Asselmeier. Mrs. Feldmeier is survived by her husband, Clarence Feldmeier; a daughter, Carla Feldmeier; sister, Wilma Johnson; and sisters-in-law Melba Asselmeier and Florence Feldmeier; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Asselmeier. Mrs. Feldmeier was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown. Visitation is Tuesday, July 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral is Wednesday, July 7, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Patrick Poole officiating. Charlotte M. Heise, nee Koopmann, 84, of Waterloo, died July 4, 2010 in Waterloo. She was born Dec. 15, 1925 in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Frank and Eunice (nee McNabb) Koopmann. Mrs. Heise is survived by her husband, George Heise; children Bernie (Fay) Ross and Cheryl (Tim) Williams; grandchildren Julie (Jay) Whitlock and Kristin Williams; step-grandchildren Jason (Jill) Crouch and Ryan (Dawn) Crouch; great-grandson, Logan Whitlock; and a brother-in-law, Nick Pautler; along with step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by a first cousin, Alvin Ross; and a sister, Dorothy E. Pautler. Mrs. Heise was the owner of Heise’s Main Street Tavern in downtown Waterloo, a member of the Belleville Women’s Bowling Association and former member of Monroe County Liquor Association and the Waterloo Sportsman’s Club. Margaret Mary Schuermann, nee McFarland, 55, of Waterloo, died July 9, 2010 in Waterloo. She was born Jan. 23, 1955, the daughter, of the late Edwin Philip and Sally (nee Noll) McFarland. Mrs. Schuermann is survived by her husband, Eugene Schuermann; daughter, Hanna Schuermann; and brothers, Mike (Barb) McFarland and Edwin (Tammy) McFarland; along with extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her a brother, James Sheridan McFarland. Mrs. Schuermann was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Waterloo, was a grade school soccer coach and was a employed as a clerk at Scott Trade. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Francis H. Heller, 86, of Fults, died July 10, 2010 in Des Peres, Mo. He was born May 4, 1924, the son of the late Frank and Anna (Krupp) Heller. Mr. Heller is survived by his wife, Joyce (Koch) Heller; children Donna (Don) Gariglietti and Terry Heller; grandchildren Greg (Dana) Hahn and Carrie Hahn; step-grandchildren Chad (Nike) Gariglietti and Nicole (Justin) Tolliver; and step-great-grandchildren Christopher Gariglietti, Morgan Orverbey and Sadie Tolliver; along with a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Meyer. Mr. Heller was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Renault and the Monroe County Farm Bureau. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Paul F. Schlemmer, 81, of Columbia, died July 12, 2010 in Columbia. He was born June 22, 1929, the son of the late Armin and Mildred (Kuni) Schlemmer. Mr. Schlemmer married Annette (Grasshaw) Schlemmer in 1952 in Columbia. In addition to his wife, Mr. Schlemmer is survived by sons, Gary Schlemmer of New York, Michael (Mary Broome) Schlemmer of Valmeyer, Paul (Laurie Cousin) Schlemmer of Columbia, Steven (Donna) Schlemmer of Columbia, Mark (Kathy) Schlemmer of Waterloo, Dan (B.J.) Schlemmer of Columbia and Scott Schlemmer of Valmeyer; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters Violet E. Hemstedt of Columbia and Lucille (Ellard) Rieso of Columbia; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Armin Schlemmer; and a grandchild, Austin Schlemmer. Mr. Schlemmer served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired as a flight line mechanic from Boeing. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Columbia and American Legion Post 581. Visitation was at Lawlor Funeral Home in Columbia. Private family services were held with Pastor Matt Friz officiating. Mr. Schlemmer was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Dennis L. “Denny” Hamann, 66, of Millstadt, died July 12, 2010 at his residence. He was born Sept. 8, 1943, in Belleville, the son of the late Howard and Irene (Speichinger) Hamann. Mr. Hamann is survived by his wife, Rosemarie (nee Strecker) Hamann; daughter, Julie Ann (Bradley) Gaffney; sons Jeffrey Scott (Hannah) Hamann, Michael Lacy (Laura) Hamann; and step-son, Kevin Allen (Jaime) Dill; and grandchildren Reis Alexander Gaffney, Logan Thomas Gaffney, Hannah Rebecca Hamann, Blake Thomas Hamann, Seth Thomas Hamann, Paige Elise Dill and Macie Lynn Dill; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Hamann. Mr. Hamann started right out of high school opening up Denny Hamann Signs in 1973. He was a member and disc jockey of the M.U.S.I.C. dance club. Visitation is Friday, July 16, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt. Funeral is Saturday, July 17 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Matt Friz officiating. Harold L. Brady, 100 of Columbia, died July 12, 2010. He was the born Jan. 18, 1910, in Beloit, Kan., the son of the late John Patrick and Nina Ellen (Vanstrom) Brady. He married Ruby Faye (Jones) Brady in 1933 in Topeka, Kan. In addition to his wife, Mr. Brady is survived by his son, Gerald L. Brady of Columbia; a granddaughter, Michelle Brady of Columbia; grandson, Benjamin Brady of Bourbon, Mo.; sister, JoAnn Garrett of Tulsa, Okla. He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Brady. Mr. Brady was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was a self-employed antique dealer. A memorial mass will be Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church in Columbia with Father Carl Scherrer officiating. Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund.
Kenneth Rahn, 75, of Maeystown, died July 13, 2010 in Maeystown. He was born Oct. 20, 1934, the son of the late William and Frieda (Eggers) Rahn. Mr. Rahn is survived by his wife, Jean (nee Vogt) Rahn; a daughter, Debbie (Terryl) Walster; grandson, Josh (Traci) Crimm; sister, Leona Kent; and brother, Bill Rahn; along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Orville, Harold and Norman Rahn; and brother-in-law, Lee Kent. Mr. Rahn was a member of St. John UCC, Maeystown Sportsman’s Club and he loved to hunt and fish. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral was at St. John UCC in Maeystown with Pastor Patrick Poole officiating. Mr. Rahn will be buried at the church’s cemetery.
