75 year old Melba Kincaid Boyd of Fairfield died at 4 a.m. Saturday, June 8th, 2002 at Wayfair Restorium.
Surviving are her husband, Milford Boyd; a daughter, Kim Mathews of Fairfield; a son, Stephen Kincaid of New York City; 3 sisters, Bernice Taylor of Carbondale, Twyla Stinnett of Carterville, Il. and Myrtle Grimes of Herrin, Il.; 2 brothers, Bently Robison of Laramie, Wyoming and J.L. Robison of Mt. Vernon, Il.; a step-son, Jim Boyd of Fairfield; 3 step-daughters, Pam Buettner of Mason City, Indiana, Linda Gelling of Medford, New York and Patti Bowles of Fairfield; 3 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11th at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 10th at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
Roy Dale Seidel
60 year old Roy Dale Seidel of Fairfield died at 5:48 p.m Thursday, June 6th, 2002 in St. Louis. He was the owner and operator of Seidel Farms and Trucking.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Paula Proctor of Newburgh, Indiana, and Cheryl Rainwater of Mattoon; 2 sons, Roy Seidel, Jr. of Lincoln, Il. and Michael Seidel of St. Charles, Missouri; 2 brothers, Willard Seidel of Belle Rive, and Larry Seidel of Ina; his step-mother, Opal Seidel of Wayne City; and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Roy Dale Seidel were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10th at the Archie Sanders Memorial Chapel at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City with burial in Thomason Cemetery.
Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, June 9th at the York Funeral Home in Wayne City, and after 10 a.m. Monday, June 10th at the Archie Sanders Memorial Chapel in Wayne City.

A visitation for Ollie Hamel was held from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, June 8th, 2002 at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Interrment of ashes were held at a prior time.
John Willis Jamerson
A graveside military service for John Willis Jamerson was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9th, 2002 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield.
There was no visitation. The Johnson Funeral Home of Fairfield was in charge of the arrangements.
L.A. Vaughn Smith
86-year-old West Salem resident, L.A. Vaughn Smith died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Her survivors include her husband Gene of West Salem; a son, Allen Smith of West Salem; a sister, Virgina Siebert of rural West Salem and three grandchildren.
Funeral services for L.A. Vaughn Smith were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8 at Ingram Funeral Home of West Salem with burial at Lick Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem.
Dr. Clyde W. Wilson
A well-known Grayville dentist, civic leader and businessman, Dr. Clyde W. Wilson, died Saturday night, June 1st, 2002 in an Evansville hospital.
Among his survivors are his wife Lucy, 2 daughters, Nancy Garrison and Ann Tolen both of Nashville, Tennessee; and a son, Steven Wilson of Chicago.
A memorial service was held Saturday, June 8th at the First United Methodist Church in Grayville.
Josephine Herderhorst
90-year-old Rt. 1 McLeansboro resident, Josephine Herderhorst died at 6:40 Tuesday evening, June 4, 2002 at Severins Nursing Home in Benton.
Survivors include two sons, Joy Howell of Chesapeake, Va., and James J. Howell of Rock Falls, Ill., four daughters, Jean Alcorn of Sparta, Betty Moore of McLeansboro, Sandra Talbert of Wildwood, Mo., and Josephine Champ of Cahokia; three sisters, Muriel Maine of Illinois, June Maine of MIchigan, and Ethel Dee of O'Fallon. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Services for Josephine Herderhorst were at 1 p.m. Friday, June 7 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in Blooming Grove Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Leon Solomon
55-year-old former Fairfield resident, Leon Solomon died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, a daughter, Lisa Currier of Fairfield, a son, Darrell of Alton, a step-daughter, Cynthia Boban of Minooka, a step-son, Everett Kochel of E. Alton; four sisters, Delores Brown of northern Illinois, Donna Woolever of blue Mound, Il., Kay Witter of Lombard, Il., and Phyllis Soloman of Fairfield; two brothers, Bob Solomon of Marion and Larry Soloman of Cerro Gordo, Il.
8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild also survive.
Services for Leon Solomon were at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Thomason Cemetery at Wayne City.
Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Ruel L. Scott
94-year-old Fairfield resident, Ruel L. Scott died at 5:39 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
His survivors include his wife, Louise Scott of Fairfield, three daughters, three sisters, Hazel Grubb of McLeansboro, Sara Tannahill of Rockford, IL and Henrietta Holsteine of Fairfield. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Ruel L. Scott were at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church wit burial at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Thursday at the church.
Blanche Jouett
91-year-old Blanche Jouett of McLeansboro died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at 5:53pm at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
She is survived by one brother John Edwards and his wife Helen of Mcleansboro and one sister Ruth Fann of McLeansboro. Two nephews Bill Edwards of Scranton PA. and David Skundrich of MIchigan; two nieces Carmen Edwards of McLeansboro and Nancy Brakeville of Alton, Ill. Several great and great-great nieces and nephews survive also.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 6 at 10:00am at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in the Valhalla Cemetery in Alton Ill.
Visitation was Wednesday, June 5 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
William J. "Bill" Schuster
81-year-old Piopolis, Ill. resident, William J. "Bill" Schuster died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2002 at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Schuster of Dahlgren; two sons, Daniel Schuster of McLeansboro and Stephen Schuster of Dahlgren; a brother, Anton "Sam" Schuster of Dahlgren; three sisters, Gertie Heil of Dahlgren, Lucille Herzing of Mt. Vernon, IL and Lorene Zachman of Decatur. Three grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for William J. "Bill" Schuster were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis with burial in the church cemetery. Graveside military services were performed by the VFW post 3851 of Carmi.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
