Blair, Darlene

Funeral arrangements for Darlene Blair, of Litchfield, are pending at Meinschein Funeral Home. Mrs. Blair, 70, died at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, in St. Francis Hospital. Memorial service for M. Darlene Blair, of Litchfield, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 6, in Meinschein Funeral Home. The remains will be cremated. No visitation is being held. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Lung Association. Mrs. Blair died at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 70 years old on May 9. She was born in rural Litchfield, a daughter of Chris and Rosie Beyers Allen. She married Hobart D. Blair in 1977 in Reno, Nevada; he died May 20, 1999. Surviving are a daughters, Peggy Immel and husband David of Chinook, Wash., Diann Hodges and husband Jay of Lawrenceville, Ga.; a step daughter, Ann V. Blair of Modesto, Calif.; step son, Dr. Hobart Don Blair II and wife Loretta of Tremont; sisters, Ida Mae Allen, Ruby L. Allen, Mary L. Jones and husband Bud, Wilma "Chris" Schoen, all of Litchfield, Lucille Landers and husband Ellsworth of Bunker Hill, Lucy A. Makler of Nilwood; two grandchildren, John and Chris Hodges of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and three step great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were sisters, Cleo Allen, Geneva A. Elliott and another sister in infancy.

Blair, Hobart D.

Services for Hobart D. Blair, of Litchfield, are pending at Meinschein Funeral Home. Mr. Blair, 86, died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, May 20, in St. Francis Hospital. Memorial service for Hobert D. Blair, of Litchfield, was held Sunday afternoon in Meinschein Funeral Home with Steve Revisky of The Christian Church of Litchfield officiating. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, or to the library in either Virden or Girard. Mr. Blair died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 86 years old on April 9. He was in the farming and insurance business. He resided in Virden from 1941 to 1976 when he moved to Modesto, Calif. He lived there for 10 years then moved to the Ozarks in Missouri where he lived for two years. He returned then to the area, residing in Fillmore for two years before moving to Litchfield. While in Virden, he became a member of the Rotary Club and had 40 years of perfect attendance. He served as district governor of Rotary International District 646 in 1968-69, and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was active for many years in the Boys Scouts of America and was a recipient of the Silver Beaver award. He was a member of the Church of the Brethern in Virden. He was born in Blue Mound, a son of Jesse and Hazel Culberson Blair. He married M. Darlene Allen on June 21, 1977, in Reno, Nevada. Surviving besides his wife, Darlene, are two children from a previous marriage, Dr. Hobart Don Blair II and wife Loretta of Tremont and Amy V. Blair of Modesto, Calif.; step daughters, Diann Hodges and husband Jay of Lawrenceville, Ga., Peggy Immel and husband David of Chinook, Wash.; a brother, Jesse Blair of Washington; three grandchildren and two step grandchildren. Preceding him in death were brothers, Ralph and Merle Blair.

Blankenship, Elizabeth M.

Graveside service for Elizabeth Maud Blankenship, of Coffeen, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, rural Coffeen, with the Rev. Ron Tucker officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Toberman Funeral Home, Coffeen. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Montgomery County Cancer Society or the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Blankenship died at 8:25 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 1999, in St. Anthony's Hospital, Alton. She was 72 years old on May 8. She was a bank teller for most of her life, working for Coffeen National Bank, Hillsboro National Bank and First Bank and Trust of Green ville. She was affiliated with the Free Methodist Church of Coffeen. She was born in Fillmore, a daughter of Cecil Towell Graham. She married Dale Blankenship on July 15, 1952, in Buffalo, N.Y. He died April 13, 1992. Surviving are a son, Kenneth E. Blankenship of Hillsboro; daughters, Kay Raymond of Green ville, Karen Werner of Roxanna, Kathy Seidler of Bethalto; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Blankenship, Nancy L.

Services for Nancy L. Blankenship, formerly of Coffeen, were held Sunday afternoon in the First Baptist Church of Green ville. The Rev. Jeff Kristensen officiated. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in rural Coffeen. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Green ville First Baptist Church or the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Mrs. Blankenship died at 3:52 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 1999, as the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Nashville, Tenn. She was 60 years old on January 12. She taught accounting at Green ville College for the past 20 years, and last month received the Faculty Award from the Green ville College Alumni Association. She graduated from Hillsboro High School and in 1975, from Green ville College. She earned a master of Business Administration in 1979 from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. In 1982, she became a certified public accountant. She was born and reared on a farm near Coffeen, a daughter of Woodrow George and Dorothy Lorraine Savage Huber. She married Reginald "Sam" Blankenship on August 16, 1957, in Corinth, Miss. He survives. Surviving also sons, Richard "Rick" Blankenship of Bloomington, R. Mark Blankenship of Coffeen; daughter, Laura Blankenship of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, David Huber of Hillsboro; sister, Carol Sanford of Coffeen; three grandsons, Adam, Ethan and Nikita.

Blaseck, Roy

Roy Blaseck, formerly of Mt. Olive, died Saturday, December 26, 1998, in St. Mary's Hospital, Tuscon, Ariz. He was 91 years old on August 22, and an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Dow Chemical in 1972 and moved to Arizona in 1980. He was a son of Charles and Minnie Blaseck, who resided in Mt. Olive. His wife, Lois, survives. Blasko, Michael

Michael Blasko, formerly of Witt, died December 14, 1999, in Chicago. He was 87 years old on December 3. He retired from Swift and Company, where he worked in quality control. In the early 1930s and for many years afterwards, he was employed as a waiter at the Blackstone Hotel. He was born in Witt, a son of Mike and Katherine Hudak Blasko, and attended Nokomis Township High school. He married Ann Lunter on November 20, 1937, in Chicago; she preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, two brothers, a sister, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, none from the local area.

Bledsaw, Phyllis

Services for Phyllis Bledsaw, of Hillsboro, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hough and Sons Funeral Home there with the Rev. Dallas White officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Hillsboro Hospital or Heartland Home Health Care. Mrs. Bledsaw died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. She was 78 years old on July 15. She worked at Hawthorn Nursing Home and at the Hillsboro Green house before she retired. She was born in Hillsboro, a daughter of Frederick and Alice Eliza Fielding Matthews. Her parents had come from London, England in the early 1900s to work in the local coal mines. On December 30, 1937, she married Ray Bledsaw in St. Louis. He survives. Surviving also are daughters, Betty Jean Bledsaw and Alice McDice, both of Hillsboro; a son, Ray Allen Bledsaw, also of Hillsboro; a sister, Beatrice Webb of Hillsboro; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Bliss Sr., Louis M.

Services for Louis M. Bliss Sr., father of Janice K. Jones of Raymond, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home in Girard. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery at Mulberry Grove. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Macoupin Center for Developmental Disabled in Carlinville or to the Girard Rescue Squad. Mr. Bliss died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in his home in Girard. He was 75 years old on August 25. He was an inspector and supervisor with Fiat Allis for 38 years before he retired in 1983. He was a former union steward with UAW Local 1235 in Springfield, and was a board member and active in the Developmental Disabled in Carlinville. He was born in Detroit, a son of Marion E. and Marie C. Derendorf Bliss. He married Violet M. Overby in 1943 in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Louis M. Bliss Jr. of Girard, Tim A. Bliss of Canton, Mo., Gary L. Bliss of Carlinville; another daughter, Connie A. Hefley of Girard; brother, Bernard W. Bliss of Jacksonville, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Bloome, George W.

George W. Bloome, formerly of Carlinville, died at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 1998, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 57 years old on October 16. He resided in Springfield where he was vice president of Hanson Engineers. He assumed the vice presidency of the firm last October when the engineering firm he headed as president, Ralph Hahn and Associates, merged with the company. He had worked for the Hahn company for 32 years. He was respected professionally and received several honors. He was also active also in his church and the community. He was born in Carlinville, a son of William J. and Margaret Rosentreter Bloome. He married Judi Monti on September 1, 1962, in Carlinville. She survives. Surviving also are sons, David Bloome of Atlanta, Ga., Brian Bloome of Divernon; daughter, Dawn Holladay of Springfield; mother, Margaret Bloome of Carlinville; brothers, Peter D. Bloome of Corvallis, Oregon, Richard A. Bloome, Daniel R. Bloome, both of Carlinville; sister, Carol J. Love of Jacksonville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 South Sixth street, Springfield. Blount, Charles Russell

Charles Russell (Shorty) Blount, brother of Helen Brown of Raymond, died Thursday, August 27, 1998, in his home. He was 79 years old on October 14. Mr. Blount, of Morrisonville, was a retired farmer, a member of the Morrisonville Masonic Lodge 681 and the Sportsman Club. He also worked with the pony and little league baseball teams. He was born in Christian County, a son of James Cleveland and Anna Martha Johnson Blount. He married Wanda Vidmar on October 31, 1945. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Charles Allan Blount and wife Lorna of Morrisonville; daughter, Peggy Blount and husband Mark Elliott of Virgilina, Va.; brothers, Robert Blount of Morrisonville, James Blount of Palmer; another sister, Leota Yard of Springfield; four grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday in Moffitt Funeral Home at Morrisonville. Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery.

Blumenthal, Helen C.

Graveside service for Helen Chervenak Blumenthal, formerly of Taylor Springs, will be held at 2:15 p.m. Friday in St. Agnes Cemetery, Hillsboro, with the Rev. Father Ted Schelich officiating. Mrs. Blumenthal died Thursday, June 10, 1999, in Chicago. She was 84 years old last July 20. She was born in Taylor Springs, a daughter of Michael and Barbara Mraszko Cherevenak, and attended elementary school there. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in the class of 1932, and often returned for reunions of the class. Over the years she remember her Hillsboro roots by contributing to various Hillsboro fundraisers. Her husband, Carl Blumenthal, preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter, Carlene M. Blumenthal; a son, Carl A. Blumental; sisters, Mary Pinder, Elizabeth Payne, Anne Poulos; brothers, George, Andy, Michael and John Chervank. Preceding her in death were a sister, Margaret Chervenak and brother, Frank Chervenak.

Boblick, William E.

William E. Boblick, of Carlinville, died Saturday, December 11, 1999, in Heritage Manor of Carlinville. He was 71 years old on March 15, and a veteran of the Korean war. Mr. Boblick was a past president of the Carlinville school board and an accountant for Exxon - Monterey Coal Company from 1951 to 1988. He was born in Roselle Park, N.J., a son of Edward A. and Mary Murphy Boblick. He married Dolores A. Sippel in 1952 in Roselle. Surviving are sons, Dr. William E., Jr. and Dr. John K. Boblick of Oak Park, Dr. James R. Boblick of Western Springs; daughters, Susan Ann LeVora of Carlinville, Ann Marie Boblick of Chicago; sisters, Elizabeth Whelan of Roselle, N.J., Marie Driscoll of Randolph, N.J.; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Davis - Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in SS. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church there. Burial will be in New Calvary Cemetery.

Bockewitz, Fern

Services for Fern Bockewitz, of Raymond, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Raymond Methodist Church with the Rev. Kent Lolling officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hough Funeral Home, Raymond. The family suggests memorials bedirected to the Raymond Methodist Church or theAmerican Cancer Society. Mrs. Bockewitz died at 2:43 p.m. Monday, July 27, 1998, in her home. She was 94 years old on February 23. She was instrumental in forming the Raymond communities Fourth of July celebration along with the late Elmer Carriker. Active in the Raymond Methodist Church, she served on many of its committes. She was an avid organist, Sunday School teacher for many years and a member of the Mizpah class. During World War II, she always took all the cheerleaders to all of the high school games. She was born in Hammond, a daughter of Elbert H. and Ella S. Smith Brown. She married Ned O. Bockewitz on February 23, 1922, in St. Louis. He died September 28, 1986. Surviving are daughters, Lolita Johnson of Springfield, Marlene Walker of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Ned A. Bockewitz on June 4, 1990; brothers, Robert Brown in 1968, Loren Brown in 1985, Lloyd Brown in 1966 and sisters, Emma Wetz in 1975 and Hazel Gunn in 1989.

Boden, Gwen Loretta

Services for Gwen Loretta Boden, of Litchfield, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Meinschein Funeral Home with the Rev. David N. Gilley of Eldorado officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Order of Eastern Star rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. by Highland Chapter 524. The family suggests memorial donations be directed to the Endowment Trust Fund of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Boden died in the emergency room of St. Francis Hospital at 4:26 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 1998. She was 47 years old on August 6. She served in the Army Nurse Corps during the Vietnam War, then worked as a nurse at Monterey Peninsula Hospital for several years. She was a graduate of Rio Vista, Calif., High School, Mills College in Oakland, Calif., and Hartnell College in Salinas, Calif., where she earned her nursing degree. Following her husband's retirement from the military, she moved to Litchfield. She was an active member in the First Baptist Church of Litchfield, a state officer in the Order of Eastern Star, Grand Lecturer of Illinois Grand Adah in 1994, and Past Worthy Matron of the Highland chapter of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the American Legion and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed downhill skiing and traveling. She was born in Oakland, Calif., a daughter of Lawrence J. and Loretta Riberdy. She married Robert William Boden on July 18, 1972, in Litchfield. Surviving are her husband, Robert; daughter, Kristin Loretta McCarter and husband Robert of Orange Park, Fla.; father, Lawrence Riberdy of Litchfield; her twin brother, Gill Riberdy of Munford, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Darrien McCarter of Orange Park. Her mother, Loretta, died October 26, 1986. Services for Gwen Loretta Boden were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Meinschein Funeral Home with the Rev. David Gilley officiating. Burial was in Edgewood Cemetery. Jackie Bean gave the eulogy. Musical selections were "In the Garden," "How Great Thou Art," and "My God and I." Carol Garner was the soloist. Irene Graden was the organist. Pallbearers were Dave Andrews, Cliff Gerdes, Dan Webster, Ron Bray, Chance Mix, Rob Griffin. Honorary pallbearers were Junior McCarter, Mike Boden, Don Boden, Ron Boden, Alan Chiles and Bob Bean. Mrs. Boden, 47, died Wednesday, June 18, in St. Francis Hospital.

Bodine, Charles L.

Services for Charles L. "Chuck" Bodine, father of Julie Mueller of Farmersville and brother of June Koontz of Hillsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Berlin Christian Church. Burial will be in Berlin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the McCullough - Delaney Funeral Home at New Berlin. Mr. Bodine, of New Berlin, died at 9:14 a.m. Thursday, August 12, in Gridley lake in Cass County. He was 53 years old on December 25. He was born in Berlin, a son of Earl M. and Beulah Baker Bodine, and married Jeanenne Dudley in 1965 there. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Jeffrey and two other daughters, Wendy Power and Carla Albert, all of New Berlin; his mother, Beulah Bodine of Berlin; brothers, James, Glen, Phillip and Robert; another sister, Joyce Corgan; and six grandchildren.

Boedecker, Iola Leonore

Services for Iola Lenore Boedecker, of Litchfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church of Litchfield with Brother Bob Mallicoat, of Jacksonville, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in Plummer Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Boedecker died at 2:54 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 1998, in her home. She was 87 years old on June 24. She was employed as a clerk at the old J.J. Newberry department store in downtown Litchfield, She also served as an election judge. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Litchfield, the Fidelitas Class, Keenagers and was a Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher for several years. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery and writing poetry. She was born in Owensville, Mo., a daughter of Lewis and Martha Bogue Poppenhouse. She married Melvin Mitchell Boedecker on June 25, 1931, in Litchfield. He died January 16, 1985. Surviving are a daughter, Joyce DeWitt of Litchfield; eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Gary Boedecker on October 30, 1982; brothers, Charlie, Chester, Victor and Donald Poppenhouse; sisters, Flora Milanos, Elsie Sanders, Ruth Quarton and Violet in infancy. Services for Iola Leonore Boedecker, of Litchfield, were held at 10 this morning in the First Baptist Church of Litchfield. Brother Bob Mallicoat, of Jacksonville, officiated. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Michelle Sweet was the organist. She accompanied Shirley Edwards who sang "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were Rick McBride of Baton Rouge, La., Russell DeWitt, Greg Matthews, Sterling Painter, Curt Simmons, Rod Bergmann, all of Litchfield, Tom Blackburn and Chad Blackburn, both of Chatham. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Following the committal service a meal was provided for the family and friends by the women of the church. Hough Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Boehler died at 4:18 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. He was 81 years old on October 1. He was a farmer, member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau and president for more than 20 years of the Pitman Township Drainage District. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Farmersville, member and past Grand Knight of the Farmersville Knights of Columbus Council 1152, member and past Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree Msgr. Patrick F. Carroll Assembly. He was born in Waggoner, a son of Nicholas and Mary L. Martin Boehler. He married Lora Helen Irwin on February 6, 1939, in St. Mary's Church, Farmersville. She survives. Surviving also are sons, David of Morenci, Ariz., Donald and Patrick of Hillsboro, Michael of White Fish, Mont., Phillip of Waggoner; daughters, Betty Tischkau and husband Joe of Farmersville, Barbara McKinney and husband Larry of Taylorville, Ginny Brockmeyer and husband Terry of Raymond; 29 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were four brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren.

Boehler, Roy C.

Funeral Mass for Roy C. Boehler, of Raymond, was held at 1:30 this afternoon in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Farmersville. The Rev. Fathers William Maul and Alan McIntosh officiated. Burial was in St. Martin Cemetery, Farmersville. Mr. Boehler died Friday, March 12, 1999, in Hillsboro Health Care Center. He was 83 years old on August 11. He was lifelong grain and livestock farmer in the McVey area, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4696 of Raymond, former member of the Kiwanis Club of Raymond, and a member of the Farm Bureaus in both Montgomery and Macoupin counties. He was born in Waggoner, a son of Nicholas and Mary L. Marten Boehler. He married Catherine C. Krager in 1937; she died in 1983. He later married Helen Painter in 1984, in Morrisonville; she survives. Surviving also are sons, John N. Boehler and wife Cheri of Girard, Allen R. Boehler and wife Carol Ann of Atwater; a daughter, Evelyn Voyles and husband Earl of Girard; step son, Ronald Painter and wife Andrea of Texas; step daughters, Rosalie Hallowell and husband Jim of Morrisonville, Dottie Colbrook and husband Michael of Goreville, Elaine Held and husband Don of Farmersville; a brother, Ralph Boehler of Litchfield; 14 grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren. Funeral Mass for Roy C. Boehler, of Raymond, was said at 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Farmersville, by the Rev. Fathers William Maul and Alan McIntosh. Peggy Jordan, organist, accompanied the church choir as they sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Let There Be Peace." Pallbearers were Tom Boehler, Gene Boehler, Phil Boehler, Pat Boehler, Dale Millburg and Danny Millburg. Honorary pallbeareres were Harry Jackson, Tom Sweatman, Glenn E. Karrick and Robert Tucker. Burial was in St. Martin Cemetery at Farmersville. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Boehler, 83, died Friday, March 12, in Hillsboro Health Care Center.

Boerckel, Charles E.

Services for Charles Edward Boerckel, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Perfetti Funeral Home, Sorento, with the Rev. Ronald Rhodus officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Sorento. Friends may call in the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Boerckel died at 7:21 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 57 years old on November 8. He had lived in Sorento for most of his life before moving to Litchfield two years ago. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro. He was born in Sorento, a son of John T. and Edith Simpson Boerckel. He married Wanda Mae Mick on November 22, 1958, in Hillsboro. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Charles Boerckel Jr. of Fillmore, Michael "Moe" Boerckel of Litchfield; daughters, Donna Hoff of Hillsboro, Lori Dierkes of Sorento, Lisa White of Farmersville; sisters, Charlotte Oary of Sorento, Viola Dobrinick of Mt. Olive, Ruby Cerlock of Nokomis. Preceding him in death were four sisters and four brothers.

Bohannon, Ella L.

Ella L. Bohannon, sister of Vivian Stout and husband Jack of Litchfield, died Wednesday, September 29, 1999, in Dennison, Texas, where she resided. She was 70 years old on September 18. She was born in Green view, a daughter of Davis and Florence Buhl Pryor. Her husband, Donald F. Bohannon, died in March this year. Surviving are a daughter, Darlene Ralston and husband Russel of Palmyra; sons, Douglas and Ronald Bohannon, both of Dennison, Texas; another sister, Margaret Fowler of Springfield; brother, Bob Pryor of Springfield. Her remains were to be cremated.

Bohenen, Viola I.

Services for Viola I. Bohenen, of Staunton, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Zion Lutheran Church there with the Rev. Leslie J. Mitkos and the Rev. Michael Kloepping officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery at Alhambra. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton. The family suggests memorials be directed to Staunton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or the Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Bohenen died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, August 31, 1998, in Heritage Manor of Staunton. She was 89 years old on April 24. She was teacher for 37 years, working in the Bethalto school district and also in schools in Alhambra, Livingston and Moro. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton, Staunton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary of Staunton, American Legion Auxiliary of Livingston and Staunton, Senior Citizens, Zion Senior Citizens, and L.W.M.L. She was born in Alhambra, a daughter of Louis and Ida McDonnell Nemnich. She married Orville Highlander on April 27, 1929. He died February 2, 1950. She then married John Bohenen on July 26, 1952. He died December 11, 1965. Surviving are a daughter, May Bohnenstiehl and husband Alvin of Marine; sons, Fred Highlander and wife Pat, Kenneth Highlander and wife Pat, all of Staunton; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Eva Doerr and five brothers, Louis, Lester, James, Albert and Donald Nemnich.

Bohlman, William H.A.

Graveside service for William H.A. Bohlman, formerly of Litchfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Breum, pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church of Mt. Olive officiating. Plummer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Monroe Center Fire Department. Mr. Bohlman, of Monroe Center, Ill., died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 1998, in Rochelle Community Hospital. He was 86 years old on January 28, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was born in Litchfield, a son of William H. and Minnie Hanneke Bohlman. He married Mamie Seago on July 15, 1940, in Litchfield. She died August 24, 1984. Surviving are a son, Timmy Bohlman and wife Diana of Royal Oak, Mich.; daughters, Flora Bell Tarrence of Kissimmee, Fla., Norma Stucker and husband Keith of Monroe Center; sisters, Katherine Basso of Litchfield, Minnie Caldwell of Royal Oak; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a brother, Henry Bohlman and a sister, Frieda Thomas. Services for William H.A. Bohlman, formerly of Litchfield, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Breum, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church of Mt. Olive, officiated. Pallbearers were Robert and William Stucker, Benny Bohlman, Susan Bohlman‘Sandnes, Eugene Adamson Jr. and Wendy Bohlman. The flag was presented to a son, Timmy Bohlman, by Wilbur Tackaberry, commander of American Legion Post 436. Mr. Bohlman, 86 of Monroe Center, died Wednesday, December 9.

Boll, Mary M.

Funeral Mass for Mary M. Boll, of Farmersville, will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Church there. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery, Farmersville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Bramley Funeral Home, Divernon. The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Isidore School of Farmersville or the Farmersville - Waggoner Ambulance Service. Mrs. Boll died Sunday, December 26, 1999, in Sunrise Manor Health Care Center, Virden. She was 94 years old on May 3. She was a licensed practical nurse and a member of St. Mary's Church. She was born in Farmersville, a daughter of Tisdale and Margaret Mooney Murphy. She married Walter J. Boll on April 7, 1951, in Farmersville. He died December 20, 1999. Surviving are sons, Larry Boll and wife Roberta of St. Paul, Minn. Paul Boll and wife Diane of Rochester; a sister, Mabel Boston of Farmersville; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Boll, Walter J.

Funeral Mass for Walter J. Boll, of Farmersville, will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Church there by the Rev. Father Alan McIntosh. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery. Mr. Boll died Monday, December 20, 1999, in Sunrise Manor Health Care Center, Virden. He was 91 years old on February 15. He was a mine examiner at Freeman Crown Mine, Farmersville, for 18 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary's Church and Knight of Columbus Council 1152 of Farmersville. He was born in Pawnee, a son of Lawrence J. and Mary Flood Boll. He married Margaret Keller in 1934 and she died December 8, 1945. He married Mary Murphy on April 7, 1951, in Farmersville. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Larry Boll and wife Roberta of St. Paul, Minn., Paul Boll and wife Diane of Rochester; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Bollman, Gladys M.

Services for Gladys Mae Bollman, formerly of the Waggoner area, were held this morning in the Hull United Methodist Church with burial in Oak Creek Cemetery, south of Buckhart. Mrs. Bollman died Thursday, August 19, 1999, in her home in Hull. She was 82 years old on March 7. She was a cook at Waggoner Grade School for 17 years before retiring in 1980. In 1985, she moved to Pike County. She was active in the Methodist Church for many years, serving as Sunday School teacher and holding various offices in the United Methodist Women's organization and church administrative boards. She was born in near Buckhart, a daughter of Clarence and Minerva Hayes Wilson. She married Roy William Bollman in 1938; he died in 1987. Surviving are a daughter, the Rev. Dorothy Browning of Hull; sister, Pat Jaeger of Mt. Auburn; three half sisters and two half brothers; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were an infant brother, Lewis Wilson in Twist, Ark.

Bonati, Gena

Services for Gena Bonati, of Hillsboro, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Patton Memorial Home there with the Rev. Father Dave Schmidt, pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday in the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Hillsboro Educational Foundation or the Golden Manor Nursing Home, Nokomis. Miss Bonati died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, July 10, 1998, in Golden Manor Nursing Home, Nokomis. She was 82 years old on April 14. She resided in Hillsboro most of her life and taught school there and in Kortkamp. She was a member of St. Agnes Church. She was born in Hillsboro, a daughter of Fred and Amelia Tossi Bonati. She never married. Surviving are a sister, Annie Bonati McComas of Evergreen Park and nephews, Tony Bonati and wife Peggy of Peoria, Ron Bonati and wife Christine of Dunlap, Steven and Fred Bonati, both of California. Two brothers, Pete and Fred Bonati preceded her in death.

Bond, James (Ed)

Graveside service for James (Ed) Bond, formerly of Staunton, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Staunton City Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Bond officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service in Williamson Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Alzheimer's Association. Mr. Bond died at 1:10 p.m. Monday, January 11, 1999, in Hitz Memorial Home, Alhambra. He was 92 years old on May 22. He retired in 1968 as a machinist with Olin Corporation in East Alton. In the 1950s he served as police magistrate in Staunton. He was born in Dorchester Township of Macoupin County, a son of Charles and Ada Poore Bond. He married Wilma Poore in 1938. She died in 1979. Surviving are sons, Charles "Art" Bond and wife Renee of Bethalto, Edward Bond of Benld; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Jerome Bond, four sisters and three brothers.

Bonds, Rosa E.

Rosa E. Bonds, of Donnellson, died at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 1998, in her home. She was 77 years old on April 20. She was a life long resident of Donnellson and worked as a telephone operator for the GTE company for many years. She also worked for a short time at the elevator in Donnellson. She was of the Baptist faith. She was born in Sorento, a daughter of Cleve and Ida R. Cowell Bonds, and never married. Surviving are sisters, Shelia Rufus of Taylor Springs and Iola Durbin of Irving. No services or visitation are planned. Burial will be take place at a later date in Donnellson Cemetery. Perfetti Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
