Mr. Jack Bote
Jack Bote, 66, of rural Murrayville died Friday afternoon, April 19, 2002, southwest of Woodson. He was born on February 24, 1936 in Jacksonville the son of Everett and Florence Roach Bote. He married Margaret Drake on June 13, 1970 at the Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville and she survives.
He is also survived by one son, Chad (wife, Erin) Bote of Beaufort, South Carolina; one brother, James Bote of Florida; and one sister, Patricia (husband, Melvin) Zulauf of Marietta.
Mr. Bote bred and raised Buckskin Quarterhorses. He had worked at Colorcraft in Jacksonville for over 20 years and had retired in April of 2001 from EMI in Jacksonville. Mr. Bote served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958-62. He was a member of the International Buckskin Association, American Quarterhorse Association, and the Church of Our Saviour.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Calvary Cemetery at Jacksonville. Friends may call after 12 Noon on Monday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.

Mr James B. Braley
James Berton Braley, 81, of Palmyra, died Thursday, October 31, 2002 in his home in Palmyra. He was born June 10, 1921 in South Palmyra Twp, Macoupin County, Illinois a son of Clayton Ira and Mazie Pratt Braley. He is survived by a brother Wendell “John” Braley of Jacksonville and a sister Mary Dugger of Palmyra, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Henry, Edward, Edwin, Irving, and George Ralph who died in infancy; and one sister Clara Braley. He retired from the State of Illinois, farmed and worked construction. He was a precinct Committeeman for South Palmyra Twp. for many years. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday, November 4, 2002 in Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra. The family will receive friends from 4pm until 7 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Palmyra. Memorials are suggested to Northwestern Rescue Squad.

Mrs. Phyllis Jean Braley (Hanneman)
Phyllis Jean Braley, 71, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday evening, September 17, 2002 at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield. She was born on October 14, 1930 in Mountain View, Missouri, the daughter of Herbert and Hazel Mae Olson Hanneman. She married Wendell R. Braley on January 1, 1949 in Carlinville and he survives. She is also survived by two sons, Wendell C. (wife, Nannette) Braley of Jacksonville and Kevin R. (wife, Wendy) Braley of Murrayville; three daughters, Regina Bartelheim of Jacksonville, Becky R. Braley of Allendale, and Janel M. Kornegay of Belleville; four grandsons, Jason Bartelheim, James Braley, Eli Braley, and Quinton Kornegay; three great-grandchildren, Monica Braley, James Braley, Jr., and Priscilla Bartelheim; two brothers, John (wife, Claudia) Caverzagie of Falls City, Nebraska, and Herb Hannaman, Jr. of Burwell, Nebraska; and four sisters, Donna Mitch of Hettick, Yvonne Marsh of Burwell, Nebraska, Nan Louise (husband, Jay) Barber of Sabetha, Kansas, and Mary Elaine Dew of Greeley, Colorado. She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Kelley. Mrs. Braley was retired from the Jacksonville Developmental Center and was a homemaker. She attended the Explorer Bible Study Group and Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. Mrs. Opal Brannan (Shaw)
Opal Brannan, age 94, of Eldred, died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 24, 2002 at her residence. She was born Sept. 25, 1908 in Woodville Township, the daughter of James and Josephine Logan Shaw. She married Kenneth A. Brannan on May 26, 1927 in Carrollton and he preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1961. She is survived by one son, Max (wife, Betty) Brannan of Eldred; one daughter, Frances (husband, Cliff) Gangwish of Gibbon, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one son, James T. Brannan; two sisters, Frances Ursch and Evelyn Eagleton and two brothers, George Shaw and Joseph Logan. Mrs. Brannan was a member of the Eldred Baptist Church and a past member of the Green e County Home Extension and the Eldred Past Time Club. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2002 at the Eldred Baptist Church with burial at Dayton Cemetery, south of Eldred. The family will meet friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Eldred Baptist Church. Memorials are suggested to the Eldred Baptist Church or the Green e County Health Dept. Home Healthcare. Bobbie L. Brannan
CARROLLTON - Bobbie L. Brannan, 70, died at 10 p.m., Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Eldred, Ill., the first of two children of Charles and Julia Brannan of Eldred.
He excelled in football, basketball and track at Carrollton High School and basketball and track at Eldred High School. He was champion in the 100-, 220- and 440-yard dash in the Green e County and Illinois Valley Conference meets in 1948 and 1949. He qualified and competed at the state track meet in the 440-yard dash as a high school senior in the one-class system. After graduation in 1949 at Carrollton High, he attended Illinois State University on a full football and track scholarship.
In 1950, with the outbreak of the Korean War, he enlisted in the Navy, serving for four years overseas.
During 1951, he was a starter at split end and corner back on the Bremerton, Wash., Naval team that won the Pacific Coast Armed Forces championship.
He worked at Shell Oil Refinery in Wood River from 1955-1990, finishing there as an industrial hygienist after several years in the safety department.
He married the former Clara Carmody March 2, 1957, in Carollton and she survives. The couple have two children: Dan (wife Victoria) Brannan of Alton and Sharon (husband Gary) Brightfield of St. Louis. Dan is the executive editor of The Telegraph.
Other survivors include six grandchildren: Mary Brightfield, Megan Brightfield, Sarah Brightfield and Michael Brightfield of Maryland Heights, Mo., and Savannah Brannan and Sierra Brannan of Alton; and a brother, Jim Brannan and sister-in-law, Jean Brannan, of Denison, Texas.
His mother, Julia, and father, Charles, preceded him in death.
He was a lifetime member of the Wood River VFW and the Eldred American Legion.
Funeral services will be at 3 P.M.Thursday, Feb. 7, at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Friends may call from 1:30 P.M. until service time at 3 P.M. Burial will follow at Dayton Cemetery in Eldred with full military rites provided by the Eldred American Legion.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ms. Roberta Mae "Bert" Bratsch
Roberta Mae “Bert” Bratsch, 50, of Jacksonville, died Friday evening, September 13, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on December 8, 1951, in Jacksonville, the daughter of August Eugene and Pearl June Scott Bratsch. She is survived by one daughter, Bridget Rana Bell of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Kramer Wilder, Kaeleah Wilder, and Zaiden Taylor; special friend Robert “Bob” Dial of Springfield; four sisters, Linda Lou Lacey of Jacksonville, Barbara (husband, Jim) Kerr of Battle Creek, Michigan, Debra Jean Crawford and Sandra Dee Hawkins, both of Meredosia; six brothers, Glenn Bratsch of Gas, Kansas, James (wife, Barbara) Bratsch of Carlinville, Randolph Scott (wife, Mildred) Bratsch, Harold Deck Bratsch, Donald Wayne (wife, Lila) Bratsch, and Brant Shannon Bratsch, all of Jacksonville; and 25 nieces and nephews. Ms. Bratsch worked with Laborers Union Local 253 for 23 years. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, cooking, and riverboat gambling. She loved being a grandmother to her grandchildren and was a friend to everyone. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Bloomfield Cemetery near Winchester. Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Roberta “Bert” Bratsch Cancer Fund at the Farmers State Bank and Trust.

Charles "Chuck" Brickley
Chalres J. “Chuck” Brickley of Camp Springs, MD. died on Tues. Sept. 24, 2002. Surviving are his wife Winifred (Varble) Brickley (formerly of Carrollton), 2 sons: Charles Brickley of California and John Brickley of Arizona, 3 daughters: Linda Grenier of California, Lou Ann Peters of North Carolina and Bonnie Truitt of North Carolina, 2 sisters: Dorothy McDaniel and Rosemary Brickley and a brother Patrick Brickley and 9 grandchildren. Local visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Prayer service will be a 6 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wed. at 10 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Carrollton with burial to follow in the Carrollton City Cemetery.

Mrs. M. Rhea Bristow (Bettis)
M. Rhea Bristow, 91, of Palmyra, died Thursday, January 2, 2003 in Pleasant Hill Village in Girard, IL. She was born March 1, 1911 in Macoupin County, near Modesto, IL, a daughter of George Washington, and Dora Frances Shores Bettis. She married Clarence “Buster” Bristow on February 26, 1930 in Springfield, IL and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1994. Surviving are: one son; Raymond (wife Donna) Bristow of Palmyra; two daughters: Thelma (husband Bill) White of Palmyra, Pauline King (husband Paul) Jones of Carlinville, IL. eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers: Clarence, Otto, Orville, Carl, Melvin, Fred, Welcome Bettis; and brother, Oren Bettis in infancy; five sisters: Annie Hartsook, Ora Pierson, Rae Crawford, and Gracie Edminston, and one sister, Mary Bettis in infancy. She was a member of Trailblazers Camping Club, and Pleasantdale Southern Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, January 6, 2003, in Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra, IL. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Sunday, January 5, 2003, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Girard City Cemetery, Girard, IL. Memorials are suggested to Northwestern Rescue Squad.

Mr. Doyle O. Brobst
Doyle O. Brobst, age 87, of Joplin, Mo. died Wednesday afternoon (August 28, 2002) at St. Johns Hospital in Joplin, Mo.. He was born November 1, 1914 in Wheeling, Mo. son of the late Archie and Maude Springer Brobst. He married Clara Grimsley on May 28, 1944 in Overland, Mo. and she survives. Also surviving is one sister, Frances Burton of Moberly, Mo.; two brothers, Louis Brobst and wife Elizabeth of Meadville, Mo. and Sid Brobst and wife Marjorie of Meadville, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Tressie Head; and one brother, Buel Brobst. Mr. Brobst was a machinist working with Curtis Wright in St. Louis, Mo during W.W. II and later with McDonald Douglas in Torrence, California retiring in 1971. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday (August 31, 2002) at the Pittsfield West Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Eugene E. Brockhouse
Eugene E. Brockhouse, 88, of Concord died Monday morning, March 11, 2002 at his residence. He was born on December 17, 1914 in the Joy Prairie Community of Morgan County the son of Chester A. and Hannah Willims Brockhouse. He married Esther Bourn on November 19, 1939 in Bowling Green , Missouri and she preceded him in death on July 29, 1997.
He is survived by two sons, Max E. (wife, Mary Rae) Brockhouse and Rex E. (wife, Kathy) Brockhouse, both of Chapin; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Carroll Brockhouse (surviving wife Lucille of Jacksonville.)
Mr. Brockhouse attended Sunnyside Grade School and graduated from Chapin High School. He was a lifelong farmer in the Concord area. Mr. Brockhouse was of the Methodist faith and had attended Grace Chapel Church in the Cracker’s Bend neighborhood. Mr. Brockhouse served as sexton of the Concord Cemetery for 25 years. He enjoyed nature and the outdoors.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Concord Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Concord Cemetery.

Mr. Donald Dean Brockhouse
Donald Dean Brockhouse, 72, of Chapin died Wednesday afternoon, April 24, 2002 at his residence. He was born on April 8, 1930 in Concord the son of Paul L. and Clarice E. Caywood Brockhouse.
He is survived by two sisters, Mary Stout of Coal City and Glenoid Gregory of Denham Springs, Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Junior Brockhouse.
Mr. Brockhouse was a skilled tree cutter and trimmer. Earlier in life he had mowed for the State of Illinois Department of Transportation, and had farmed. He enjoyed his daily walks, fishing, a talking with friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Chapin Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.

Mrs. Kathryn Brown (Anderson)
Kathryn Brown, age 72, of the Sycamore Health Care Center in Quincy, Ill. and formerly of Griggsville, Ill. died late Wednesday evening (Aug. 28, 2002) at the Health Care Center. She was born January 9, 1930 in Griggsville, Ill. daughter of the late John and Anna Martin Anderson. She married Cecil Brown on May 16, 1955 in Quincy, Ill. and he survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Terry Fawcett of Anna, Ill.; Darla Cookey and husband Jim of Griggsville, Ill.; and Dawn Steinbach and husband Richard “Hank” of Leavenworth, Kansas; one son, Harlan “Buddy” Brown and wife Lisa of Pittsfield, Ill.; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harlan Anderson and Morris Anderson. Mrs. Brown was a 1948 graduate of Griggsville High School. She was a past employee of Trio Manufacturing in Griggsville, Ill.. She was a member of the Nebo First Baptist Church in Nebo, Ill.. She enjoyed sewing and making crafts and clothing. Committal services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Griggsville Cemetery in Griggsville, Ill. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Sycamore Health Care Center c/o the funeral home. Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville, Ill. is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Patricia R. Brown (Casey)
Patricia R. Brown, 64, of Jacksonville died Friday morning, February 15, 2002 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was born on December 27, 1937 at Our Saviours Hospital in Jacksonville, the daughter of James T. and Alma M. Connolly Casey. She married Walter B. Brown, Jr. on September 24, 1966 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Murrayville and he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Janet E. (fiancé, Robert Reddish) Brown of Jacksonville; two sons, James J. (wife, Melissa A.) Brown of Lincoln and John Walter (fiancé, Stacy Dressler) Brown of Bloomington; four grandchildren; four sisters, Sr. Elizabeth Marie of Springfield, Agnes (husband, James) Gaw of Elmhurst, Frances Lawless and Janet (husband, Paul) Hansen, both of Franklin; and three brothers, Tom (wife, Joyce) Casey of Murrayville, David Casey of Jacksonville and Paul (wife, Rachel) Casey of White Hall.
Mrs. Brown had been a telephone operator with G.T.E. for 33 years and later worked as switchboard operator at Passavant Hospital. She currently took great pleasure in her work in the cafeteria at Jefferson School in Jacksonville, where she cherished her daily interactions with the students. She was a member of the Church of Our Saviour and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and playing bingo, but her greatest joy came from her relationships with her family and her time spent with her grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2002 at the Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville with burial at St. Bartholomew Cemetery at Murrayville. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 3:00-6:00 p.m. A prayer service will be conducted at 2:45 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Church of Our Saviour or Jefferson School.

Mr. Lawrence R. Brumley
Lawrence R. “Larry” Brumley, 61, of Jacksonville, died Friday evening, November 1, 2002, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. He was born on November 5, 1940, in Naples, the son of Woodrow Swisher and Imogene Gregory. He is survived by his mother, Imogene Gregory Garrison of Jacksonville; one son, Larry R. “Boomer” Brumley of Jacksonville; one daughter, Cindy (husband, Jeff) Flynn of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; and one half-sister, Beverly Wood of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Roy Brumley, and one half-sister, Barbara Lahey. Mr. Brumley was a self-employed painting contractor and later worked for J.B. Large and Son. He enjoyed playing pool and belonged to several teams. He was a member of the American Pool Players Association and was a Minnesota Vikings fan. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after noon on Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mr. Jason Hillery Brundage
Jason Hillery Brundage, 36, of Great Falls, Montana, and formerly of Jacksonville; died Wednesday, October 16, 2002 in Great Falls. He was born on November 29, 1965 in Jacksonville, the son of Jerry and Wanda Smith Brundage. He is survived by one son, Jason, and one daughter, Adrian, both of Killeen, Texas; his mother, Wanda Smith Brundage of Kirland, Arizona; his fiancé, Dawn Desjardin of Great Falls, Montana, one brother, Daniel Brundage of Kirkland, Arizona; one sister, Donna Clark of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, Jeff Brundage. Mr. Brundage served in the United States Army. He was currently living in Great Falls, working in automobile repossession. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery, near Patterson. The family will meet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to his children’s education fund.

Mrs. Gladys Mae Bugger (Young)
Gladys Mae Young Bugger, 68, of Chapin died Thursday afternoon, May 16, 2002 at her residence. She was born on October 18, 1933 in Jacksonville the daughter of Roy Elmer and Ora Tinsley Young. She was married to Sylvester Bugger and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Magelitz of Jacksonville and Debi Townsend of Fort Madison, Iowa; one grandson, and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Bugger had worked as a telephone operator, and was later employed as a seamstress at J. Capps and Sons for many years. She then served as Postmaster at Naples, Illinois. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and NAPUS.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2002 at Chapin Cemetery. The family will meet friends following the service. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Margaret Bunting (Stanhope)
Margaret Bunting, 93, of Jacksonville died Wednesday morning, March 6, 2002 at Scott County Nursing Center in Winchester. She was born on March 18, 1908 in Albion the daughter of Archibald and Annie Schofield Stanhope. She married James David Bunting on March 20, 1930 in Albion and he preceded her in death on September 10, 1992.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn (husband, Dr. Vernon) Lindell of Jacksonville; one son, James (wife, Rebecca) Bunting of Half Moon Bay, California; eight grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Selma Dardon and one brother, Francis Stanhope.
Mrs. Bunting moved to Jacksonville with her husband, in the late 1930’s. She had attended Central Christian Church and was currently a member of First Christian Church. Mrs. Bunting was a member of PEO, Tuesday Club, Women’s Club, Home Extension, Ebenezer Unit; and Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, cooking, and entertaining. Mrs. Bunting wintered with her husband in Harlingen, Texas for 22 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home, where the family will meet friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Graceland Cemetery at Albion. Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Fund or First Christian Church in Jacksonville.

Mr. Gary L. Burnett
Gary Lee Burnett, 59, of Jacksonville died Tuesday morning, February 27, 2002 at Passavant Area Hospital. He was born November 7, 1942 in Galesburg the son of John Ellsworth and Verna Lee Stewart Burnett. He married Pat Ellis and they later divorced.
He is survived by four brothers, Chester (wife, Jean) Burnett of Arizona, Gene (wife, Shirley) Burnett of Naples, Coy (wife, Leona) Burnett and Dale (wife, Nancy) Burnett both of Jacksonville; two step-daughters and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Burnett was a heavy equipment operator for many years. He was a member of Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church and the Midwest Operating Engineers. He served in the United States Army in Korea from 1960-1964 and later with the United States Navy Seabees in Vietnam from 1967-1968.
Military graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Franklin Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Patsy June Bushnell (DeShasier)
Patsy June Bushnell, 64, of White Hall died early Sunday morning Dec. 15, 2002 at her residence following a lengthy illness. born on May 1, 1938 in White Hall she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mae Cox DeShasier. On Jan. 31, 1957 she married Lee Bushnell and he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1987. Surviving are 3 daughters: Dana Bushnell at home, Marcia (husband Don) Hardy of Roodhouse, Lisa (husband Kenny) Loy of White Hall, 7 grandchildren: Candi, Stacey, Ashley, and Derek Hardy, Laci Ford, Kaci Loy, a step grandson: Sean Castleberry, a great grandson: Jolyon Derek Waterfallen, 4 sisters: Nina DeShasier of Denver, Co., Edna Rochester of Virginia, Il., Darlene McAdams of Winchester, Harriett Lockhart of Jacksonville, 6 brothers: Bill DeShasier of Beckemeyer, John DeShasier of Casper, Wyo., Louie DeShasier of White Hall, Danny DeShasier of Alton, Tom DeShasier of Joplin, Mo., and Ed DeShasier of Griggsville. She was preceded in death by 2 sons: Rick and Pete Bushnell, 3 sisters: Betty Savage, Linda Stewart, Shirley DeShasier and 3 brothers: Gene, Donald and Michael DeShasier. Mrs. Bushnell had worked for 10 years at White Manufacturing (Bunn Corp.) in White Hall retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Hillview Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until service time at 11 A.M. on Wednesday at the Hillview Baptist Church in Hillview. Burial will follow in the White Hall Cemetery. Memorials are to a charity of one’s choice. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall is in charge.

Mrs. Esta Lee Elizabeth Beadles Cadell (Mitchell)
Esta Lee Elizabeth Beadles Cadell, 78, of Edinburg, Texas and formerly of Jacksonville; died Friday, June 14, 2002 at Edinburg Regional Hospital in Edinburg. She was born on October 18, 1923 in Jacksonville the daughter of Thomas and Reba Mitchell. She married John Paul Beadles on June 15, 1941 in Bowling Green , Missouri and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1980. She married Jess Cadell on February 14, 1987 and he survives at their home in Texas.
She is also survived by two sons, Tom (wife, Vicki) Beadles of Franklin, Tennessee, and Ron (wife, Gail) Beadles of Southlake, Texas; one step-daughter, Sharon Dotson of East Peoria; four grandchildren: Chad Beadles of Franklin, Tennessee; Kathy Holtz of Nashville, Tennessee; John Paul and Laura Beadles of Southlake, Texas; and two great-grandchildren: Cade Beadles of Franklin, Tennessee and Hope Beadles of Washington, Illinois. She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Sierra Beadles and her mother and step-father, Reba and Rex Kugler.
Mrs. Cadell was a member of several area organizations, and had served as president of the Amvets Auxiliary of Illinois from 1959-1960.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service. Private committal services will be at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the charity of choice.

Lloyd R. Camerer Jr.
Lloyd R. Camerer Jr., 78, of Hillview died on Wed. Sept. 25, 2002 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville. born in Eldred on May 4, 1924 he was the son of the late Lloyd and Lillian Ruyle Camerer Sr. He married the former Mary E. Mielke on May 9, 1959 in Michael, Il. and she survives. Also surviving are: 2 daughters: Janie Wickenhauser of Milton, Liz (husband Larry) Staats of Hillview, 2 sons: Lloyd (wife Kathy) Camerer of Winchester and Donald L. (wife Melody) Camerer of Milton, 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter, 2 sisters: Peggy Turner of O’Fallon, Mo., Patsy Camerer of Hardin and a brother Tim Camerer of Wellsville, Mo. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Norman and Arthur Lee, a sister: Bertha and 2 stillborn siblings. Mr. Camerer was a WWII and Korean Confict veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a lumberjack. Friends may call from 10 A.M. on Sat. until 11 A.M. at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Following visitation graveside rites will be held at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Eldred. Memorials are mentioned to the American Diabetes Assn.

Ms. Willa Mae Campbell
Willa Mae Campbell, 90, of Jacksonville died Tuesday evening, March 12, 2002 at Skyview Terrace, Ltd. in Jacksonville. She was born on October 29, 1911 in Jacksonville the daughter of Ora R. and Willa May Worsham Campbell.
She is survived by one niece, Shirley L. (husband, Vance) Wheeler of Galesburg; one nephew, George F. (wife, Carrol) Campbell, Jr. of Carrollton, Texas; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Byron Campbell and George Francis Campbell.
Ms. Campbell was an operator with General Telephone for 37 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine #57, Rebekah #13, Jacksonville Women’s Club, and attended the First Assembly of God in Jacksonville.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2002 at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville. The family will meet friends from 1 to 2:15 p.m. on Friday at the Williamson Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to First Assembly of God in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Sharon Louise Patterson Campbell (Hagen)
Sharon Louise Patterson Campbell, age 54, of Roodhouse, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 3, 2002 at the Jerseyville Hospital in Jerseyville. She was born Dec. 31, 1947 in Louisiana, Missouri, the daughter of Elza and Lenora Gates Hagen. She married Gene Patterson on Oct. 27, 1989 in Louisiana, Missouri and he preceded her in death on March 3, 1993. She later married Sonny Campbell on Dec. 7, 1994 in Jerseyville and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1998. She is survived by one son, Phillip Prater of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Andria and David; one sister, Linda Steele of White Hall and one brother, Irvin Hagen of Roodhouse. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marie Prater. Mrs. Campbell was of the Baptist faith and had attended the Hillview Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.Nov. 6, 2002 at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery near Patterson. The family will meet friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mrs. Grace I. Canatsey (Mc Farland)
Grace I. Canatsey, 80, of South Jacksonville died Monday, February 11, 2002 at Prairie Village Health Care Center in Jacksonville. She was born December 15, 1921 in Jacksonville the daughter of Albert and Esther Claus McFarland. She married Stanley M. Canatsey on November 1, 1958 at the Central Christian Church in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2001.
She is survived by one sister, Betty (husband, Maurice) Cooper of Jacksonville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Albert McFarland, Jr.
Mrs. Canatsey had been employed as an assistant to Dr. Englebach in Jacksonville for many years and later worked for the Village of South Jacksonville as an office clerk. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Jacksonville. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Texas, Florida and Arizona.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2002 at Diamond Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Prairieland Liberty Church. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
