Mrs. Mildred A. Linton (Kennedy)
Mildred A. Kennedy Linton, age 91, of the Pittsfield HealthCare Center in Pittsfield, Ill. and formerly of Griggsville, Ill. died 4:14 a.m. Wednesday (February 6, 2002) at the HealthCare Center.
She was born August 1, 1910 in Griggsville, Ill. daughter of the late Delbert S. and Lula A. Bonnett Kennedy.
She married Elwin D. “Ed” Linton on April 28, 1950 and he preceded her in death on January 18, 1994.
Surviving is one son, Delbert Carnes and wife Constance of Juneau, Alaska; three grandchildren, Linda Blefgen and husband Lawrence, Denice McPherson and husband Scott, and Wayne Carnes and wife Merry all of Juneau, Alaska; a great-grandson Arne Ellefson-Carnes of Juneau, Alaska; three sisters, Margaret Sargent and Rosalee Sleight both of Griggsville, Ill., and Dorothy Johnson of Laramie, Wyoming; one brother, Earl Kennedy of Pittsfield, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Marguerite Kennedy of Perry, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Fern Warton, Lucy Wade, and Nina Birch; and three brothers, John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Chuck Kennedy.
Mrs. Linton was a graduate of Griggsville High School in Griggsville, Ill. who lived in Texas, Wyoming, Alaska, Kansas and Maryland before retiring to Griggsville, Ill. with her husband. She loved to decorate the inside of her house for Christmas and in the summer, enjoyed her flowers and the family get-togethers in Griggsville and Perry.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday (February 14, 2002) at the Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville, Ill. with Rev. David Schultz officiating. Interment will be in Griggsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Griggsville United Methodist Church.

Mr. Clarence "Sonny" Lister
Clarence “Sonny” Lister, age 78, of Griggsville, Ill. died early Monday morning (May 27, 2002) at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill..
He was born June 9, 1923 in Griggsville, Ill. son of the late Elmer Lee and Alice Lee Lloyd Lister.
He married Harriet LaTier on April 27, 1946 in Chicago, Ill. and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Patty Norton and husband Roger of Buffalo, Ill., Laraine Outly and husband Alan of Kansas City, Mo., Cathy Bonds and husband Brady of Griggsville, Ill.; five sons, Stephen Jay Lister and wife Martha and Dennis Lister and wife Robin all of Springfield, Ill., Thomas D. Lister and wife Peggy of Carlinville, Ill., Tony Lister and wife Kim of Lansing, Michigan, and Danny Lister and wife Anne of Minooka, Ill.; twenty-three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Harold Lister and wife Mary Lee of Barry, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lavina who died in infancy; two brothers, Robert and Paul Lister.
Mr. Lister was a 1941 graduate of Griggsville High School. He was a W.W. II veteran serving in the U.S. Army in the Philippines. He was employed for many years as a plumbing and heating contractor before becoming LP gas manager for Pike County Farm Service retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Griggsville United Methodist Church and a past member of the Griggsville American Legion. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish.
A Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville, Ill.. Friends may call one hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Mr. Rex Eugene Little
Rex Eugene Little, age 63, of Maryville, formerly of Roodhouse, died
Monday, May 6, 2002 at the Elmwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in
Maryville.
He was born Oct. 24, 1938 in Lorenzo, Texas, the son of Floyd
Calvin and Mildred Lucille Feazelle Little.
He is survived by one daughter, Leanna Louise Williams of Grants
Pass, Oregon; two sons, Ricky Farrel Little and David Feazelle Little, both
of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sisters, Naomi Ruth Radka of Pigeon Forge,
Tennessee and Mildred Anita Adkins of Collinsville. He was preceded in
death by one brother, James Little.
Mr. Little retired from the U.S. Navy in 1981 after 27 years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The Airsman-Hires Funeral
Home in Roodhouse is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Marie Locher (Fairfield)
Marie Locher, age 79, of Roodhouse, died early Monday morning, Oct. 28, 2002 at the White Hall Multicare Center in White Hall. She was born Nov. 10, 1922 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Floyd Russell and Georgia Lee Brooks Fairfield. She married Emerson Locher on Aug. 23, 1948 in Roodhouse and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1994. She is survived by one son, Jerry L. (wife, Lillian) Locher of Roodhouse; one grandson, Thomas Locher of Roodhouse; three great grandchildren, Daniel, Clayton and Cameron; two brothers, Russell Eugene Fairfield of Jacksonville and Harold Lee Fairfield of Conroe, Texas and one sister, Mrs. Hal (Doris) Brock of Jacksonville. Mrs. Locher worked at RECO for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Roodhouse United Methodist Church. She was a member and past president of the Roodhouse American Legion Auxiliary and also a member of the Roodhouse VFW Auxiliary. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002 at the Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse. Memorials are suggested to Meals On Wheels. The Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Patricia L. Lockman
Patricia Lockman, 51, of Jacksonville, died Monday evening, September 2, 2002 at Modern Care Convalescent Center in Jacksonville. She was born on November 29, 1950 in Quincy, the daughter of Charles and Harriett Hanley Lockman. She is survived by her father of Jacksonville, four brothers, Thomas (wife, Cathy) Lockman of Savoy, Joseph Lockman of Jacksonville, Stephen Lockman of Chicago, and Timothy (wife, Teresa) Lockman of Jacksonville; four sisters, Joan Ryan of Jacksonville, Carol (husband, Rick) Dwiggins of Wood River, Barbara (husband, Bill) Long of Franklin, and Molly (husband, Ted) Harris of St. Louis; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and one nephew. Ms. Lockman was a 1968 graduate of Routt High School and a 1972 graduate of MacMurray College. Following her college graduation, she taught at St. Dominics Catholic School at Quincy before returning to Jacksonville to teach at Our Saviour Grade School for nearly 20 years. She also worked at the Jacksonville Public Library, and as a substitute teacher for Jacksonville School District 117 and the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired. In addition, she volunteered at Passavant Hospital. She served as organist at the Church of Our Saviour for over 40 years. She began playing at church services at the age of 9, after being encouraged to do so by Monsignor Driscoll. She went on to serve as the parish music director and choir director, and participated in both the adult and contemporary choirs. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2002 at the Church of Our Saviour with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Jacksonville. Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Williamson Funeral Home where the family will meet friends after 7 p.m. A prayer service will be conducted at the conclusion of the visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Chuck and Harriett Lockman Scholarship, which has been established though the Our Saviour School Education Foundation; or Hospice Care of Central Illinois, Jacksonville Branch.

Mrs. Lorraine L. Lomelino (Lindgren)
Lorraine L. Lomelino, 75, of Jacksonville died Thursday evening, January 10, 2002 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born on January 5, 1927 in Chicago, the daughter of Gustaf Theodore and Ethel Tiggelaar Lindgren. She married Henry Joseph Nault, Ernest Carey and David J. Lomelino, all of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter: Ethel Darlene Francis of Cadiz, Kentucky; three sons: Gustaf “Bud” Nault, Douglas J. Nault (wife, Susan) and David E. Lomelino all of Jacksonville; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother: Ronald Lindgren (wife, Eleanor) of Lodi, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two infant children: Robert Wayne Nault and Lucretia Grace Nault and a son, Edward L. Carey in July of 1999, two grandchildren; a sister, Pearl Mae Lindgren and two brothers: Edward Lindgren and Lloyd Lindgren, (surviving wife, Virginia, of Chicago)
Mrs. Lomelino was employed by the Jacksonville State Hospital for many years. She also worked at Our Saviours’ and Norris Hospitals and at several of the area Nursing Homes. After her retirement from the State, she served many Jacksonville families by caring for the elderly as a Home Health Aid. She loved to cook, and was quite a “handyman” never afraid to tackle any project. She attended Harvest Temple United Pentecostal Church, and formerly attended Liter Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville. The family will meet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Rebekah services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to Teen Challenge of Mid-Michigan or Harvest Temple United Pentecostal Church Flower Fund.

Mrs. Frances "Sue" London (Mahoney)
Frances Sue London, 51, of Jacksonville, died Saturday evening, September 7, 2002 at her residence. She was born on May 28, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of James and Hazel Marie Smith Mahoney. She married Donald Ray London on June 12, 1980 in Beardstown, and he survives. She is also survived by two sons, Kevin (wife, Jennifer) Coker of Roodhouse and Steven Scott London of Jacksonville; one daughter, Dawn Renee London of Jacksonville; one granddaughter, her stepfather, William Sanders of Jacksonville; four brothers, Chris Sanders and Lloyd Mahoney of Jacksonville, Kenneth Mahoney of Oklahoma, and Randy Sanders of Springfield; and one sister, Cathy Miller of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Sharon Mahoney. Mrs. London was a paper carrier for the Jacksonville Journal Courier for over 12 years. She enjoyed music, flowers, video games, and dancing. She loved spending time with her children and granddaughter, and visiting family and friends. Mrs. London was of the Baptist faith. Private funeral services will be held. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jessicia Lachole Long
Jessicia Lachole Long, infant daughter of Tim and Lydia Rainey Long of Jacksonville, was stillborn on Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, 2002 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She is also survived by two brothers, Timothy L.S. Long and Kodie D. Long, both at home; one sister, Miranda N. Long at home and one half sister, Kristy M. Long of Franklin; maternal grandmother, Mary Rainey of Jacksonville; paternal grandmother, Lavina Long of Lakeland, Florida and paternal great grandmother, Clara Scoggins of Carrollton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery near Patterson. The family will meet friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday.

Helen Kathy Long (Surratt)
Helen Kathy Surratt Long, 56, of Virginia, died Tuesday morning, December 17, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on October 19, 1946, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Melvin S. “Jack” and Helen Virginia Alexander Surratt. She is survived by one son, Frank J. Long, II, of Virginia; her mother of Ashland; four brothers, Donald Surratt of Ashland, Dick (wife, Millie) Surratt of Rushville, Danny Ray (wife, Rose) Surratt of Lovington, New Mexico, and Melvin (wife, Mary) Surratt of Jerseyville; one sister, Darlene (husband, Dick) Marshell of Mission, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, and two brothers, Emil Surratt and Jackie Surratt. Mrs. Long worked at the Human Resource Center in Virginia and also cleaned homes in Virginia. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2002, at the Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville with burial at Chapin Cemetery near Chapin. Friends may call after noon on Thursday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 4-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.

Virginia Lee Lorton
Virginia Lee Lorton, age 87, of White Hall, died early Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at her residence. She was born Feb. 18, 1915 in White Hall, the daughter of Warren and Grace Goodwin Lorton. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Mary Underwood (companion, Bruce Milner) of Roodhouse; Fred (wife, Peggy) Westerhold of White Hall; Lynne (husband, Joe) Clewis, Alan “Bud” (wife, Reita) Lorton, Carol (husband, Phil) Gentry and Mary Lee (husband, David) Dyer, all of Dallas, Texas; and several great nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by one sister, Jeane Westerhold Garlo and one brother, Warren Lynn Lorton. Ms. Lorton was the secretary and bookkeeper for the Princess Theater in White Hall until 1939 when she moved to Springfield and went to work for the Illinois Department of Public Safety for 37 years, retiring on Sept. 23, 1976. She moved back to White Hall in 1981. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2002 at the White Hall Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Blessing Hospice of Green e County. The Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. John R. Manning
John R. Manning, 89, of Waverly, Il. passed away Thursday, May 30, 2002, in St. John's North in Springfield, Illinois. He was born May 6, 1913 in Salem, Missouri, a son of Troy and Marjorie (Mc Bride) Manning. He married Margaret C. Saffer of New Berlin, IL. on November 5th, 1931 in Springfield, IL, and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters: Margaret Waltrip of Charleston, IL, Virginia Hubble of Virden, IL., five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, eighteen great great grandchildren, two brothers: William (Wife Edith) Manning of Franklin, IL, Norman (wife Beulah) Manning of Florida, two sisters: Lura Prince of New Berlin, IL, and Marjorie (Husband Sidney) Bartz of Murrayville, IL.
He was preceded in death by one daughter; Marie, two sons: Robert and John Jr, two grandsons, two granddaughters, one great grandson, two brothers Rollie and Albert and one sister, Bernice Mills.
Mr Manning worked as a farm hand, truck driving, and had his own lime apreading business. After he retired he did yard work in the area for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 3, 2002 in Neece Funeral Home in Waverly, IL. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 2, 2002 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Family.

Mr. Kenneth Marable
Kenneth Marable, age 31, of Detroit, Ill. died late Monday evening (July 29, 2002) at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. He was born November 7, 1970 in Pittsfield, Ill. son of Kenneth Wayne Gwartney and the late Rebecca Mae McGlasson Marable. He married Sheila Ashburn on August 8, 1993 in Pittsfield, Ill. and she survives. Also surviving is his father Kenneth Wayne Gwartney and step-mother Shelia of Barry, Ill.; two sons, Kenneth Lee Marable and Kylar Ahron Marable both of home; four brothers, David Marable and wife Kate of Bloomington, Ill., Kenneth Wayne Gwartney, Jr. and wife Debbie and Tommy Rowden and wife Stephanie all of Pittsfield, Ill., and Jamie Gwartney and wife Pam of Deep Run, North Carolina; six sisters, Bobbie Jones and husband Robert of Bowling Green , Mo., Jeri and Gary of ; Janet Pine and husband Kris and Bonnie “Jeannie” Motley and husband Greg all of Baylis, Ill., Lorrie Guthrie and husband Gary of Clayton, Ill., and Michelle Main and husband Tim of Barry, Ill.; a paternal grandmother, Jan Gwartney of Pittsfield, Ill.; two paternal great-grandmothers, Elsie Renoud and Lavina Blacketter both of Pittsfield, Ill.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Mae Marable; a paternal grandfather, Kenneth Gwartney and paternal grandmother, Norma Jean Gwartney. He was a past employee of Gully Transportation in Quincy, Ill., Rennecker Equipment in Barry, Ill., and Dyno Corporation and Pike Feeds in Pittsfield. He was an avid sportsman who loved nature and being in it. He also loved to go hunting with friends and especially coyote hunting with his father. He also enjoyed camping with is family and friends. He was a man who would do anything for anybody at anytime. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (August 3, 2002) at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. with burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Pittsfield, Ill.. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. A meal will be provided for family and friends at the Detroit Town Hall in Detroit, Ill. following the services.

Betty Lou Marquis (Solomon)
Betty Lou Marquis, 78, of Carlinville, Illinois; formerly of Palmyra, Illinois and Chatham, Illinois; passed away Sunday, November 10, 2002 at Heritage Manor in Carlinville, Illinois. She was born November 12, 1923 in Palmyra, Illinois, the daughter of Elbert and Opal Ophelia Hartsook Solomon. She was a long time employ with the State of Illinois, as a clerk with Dept. of Public Aid. She was a member of the American Legion Aux. Post#1034, Palmyra, Illinois was a member of the Baha’i Faith in Springfield, Illinois. She is survived by 3 sons; Steven R. Marquis of Sunnyvale, California; Bryan Marquis of Sunnyvale, California; Darin Marquis of Springfield, Illinois; 4 daughters; Becky Mallas of Springfield, Illinois; Nadene(Greg) Davis of Rochester, Illinois; Karen Martin of Chatham, Illinois; Lisa Marquis of Springfield, Illinois; 2 brothers, Harvey Solomon of Palmyra, Illinois; Coy Solomon of Palmyra, Illinois; 2 sisters; Grace Stults of Palmyra, Illinois; Norma Scroggins of Palmyra, Illinois; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; Harold Solomon and Bruce Solomon; and 1 sister, Geneva Solomon, in childhood. Funeral services will be at 2:30pm, Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at the Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra, Illinois. Family will meet friends from 12:30 to 2:30 on Wednesday. Mrs. Vera Louise Martin (Myers)
Vera Louise Myers Martin, age 79, of White Hall, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 27, 2002 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born Nov. 10, 1923 in White Hall, the daughter of Frank and Lillian Katherine Elizabeth Lindig Myers. She married William R. Martin on April 24, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky and he survives. She is also survived by one daughter, Kathy J. Newingham (companion, Jeff Baise) of Green field; two sons, Barry A. (wife, Kathy) Martin and Randy K. (wife, Diana) Martin, both of Springfield; five grandchildren, Darby (wife, Kim) Martin, Karly Martin, Nathan (wife, Amber) Newingham, Elizabeth Anne Martin and Bryan A. Loy; two great grandchildren, Layne Michael Newingham and Cicely Paige Leonetti; and one brother, Wesley D. Myers of Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Martin worked for the North Green e Unit District #3, where she was a secretary/treasurer for 22 1/2 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Wrights. She was a member for over 40 years of the White Hall Night Unit Green e County Homemakers Extension. She was also a member of the Ladies’ Literary League, the White Hall Elementary Book Buddy, Women’s Missionary Union. She actively participated in all church activities while serving as pastor’s wife in eight churches. She was an avid reader and loved doing crafts, most of which were gifts for others. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at the Calvary Baptist Church in White Hall with burial at the White Hall Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall. Memorials are suggested to the Green e County Relay For Life, the Carmi Children’s Home or the Sandy Creek Retreat Center.

Avery E. Martin
Avery E. Martin, 94, of Carrollton died Saturday evening Jan. 19, 2002 at
Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
Born in Woodville Twp. on Oct. 26, 1907 he was the son of the late Orson
and Clara Elizabeth Tillery Martin.
He married the former Virginia Harper on Oct. 16, 1942 in Alton and she
preceded him in death on August 13, 1989. Surviving are 2 sons: Dan
Martin of Carrollton and Gary (wife Linda) Martin of Switzerland, Fla., 3
brothers: Dean (wife Irene) Martin of Carrollton, Charles Martin and Curtis
Martin both of Carrollton. He was preceded in death by a brother Orson
Martin and 2 sisters: Clara and Cleda Martin.
Mr. Martin was a lifelong farmer and member of the Carrollton First
Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday at the Airsman-Hires
Funeral Home in Carrollton. Funeral services will be held at the funeral
home at 10 A.M. on Thursday with burial in the Upper Alton Cemetery in
Alton. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Burt E. Martin
Burt E. Martin, 86 , of Jacksonville, Illinois, formerly of Waverly, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville, Illinois. He was born April 18, 1915 in Waverly, Illinois. He was the son of Heye and Phebe McCready Martin. He married Norma E. Keirly on June 12, 1984 in Waverly, Illinois, she survives.
He farmed near Waverly, was a school bus driver, and for a time, was employed at St. Charles Boy's School in St. Charles, Illinois. He was a member of the Jacksonville Moose Lodge and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife; 3 sons, Russell (Lili) Martin of Waverly; Richard Lee (Judy) Martin of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Warren Earl (Pam) Martin of Auburn, Illinois; 1 daughter, Wilma (Quentin) Plesch of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 2 sisters, Hazel Reed of Jacksonville, Illinois; Lois (Marvin) Sims of Waverly, Illinois; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 1pm, Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at the Neece Funeral Home in Waverly, Illinois. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery in Waverly, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to the Moose Lodge of Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters, Edna Jones and Alice Leigh.

Mr. Andi Masias
Andi Masias, 38, of Jacksonville died Monday evening, February 18, 2002 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born November 1, 1963 in Mexico.
Mr. Masias was a member of the Catholic faith. He had been employed at Lonzerotti’s Italia Restaurant in Jacksonville for the past 5 years.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2002 at Calvary Cemetery in Jacksonville. Memorials are suggested to Catholic Children’s Home in Alton. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Ruby J. Massey (Wilson)
Ruby J. Massey, 86, of Jacksonville, died Sunday morning, September 15, 2002 at her residence. She was born on January 16, 1916, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Isaac and Nellie Hayes Wilson. She married Lloyd E. Massey on June 26, 1936 in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1990. She is survived by one son, Charles (wife, Linda) Massey of Jacksonville, and one sister, Iva Mae Menscer. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Wilson and Louis Hayes, and one sister, Helen Ward. Mrs. Massey was a seamstress at J. Capps and Sons and later worked as a dietary aide at the Jacksonville Developmental Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2002, at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.

Mrs. Ramona Fayne Mattera (Grimmett)
RAMONA GRIMMETT MATTERA WAVERLY,IL Ramona Fayne Grimmett Mattera, of Springfield, IL, formerly Waverly and Palmyra, IL, died Wednesday, December 25, 2002 in Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL.. She was a daughter of Paul J. and Florence Browne Grimmett. Surviving are: three sons: Donald Wayne Stratton of Springfield, Missouri; Michael Kent Stratton and Michael Anthony Mattera both of Springfield, IL.; one daughter:, Angela Nicole Martin of Springfield, IL, one brother, Paul Clark Grimmett, of Jacksonville, IL, two sisters Linda McNeely of Waverly, IL, and Connie Livingway of Phoenix, Arizona, and fifteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Robert Scott Stratton, who died in 1990 and one daughter Dawn Rene Kraushaar, who died in 1991. She was an LPN at the Triangle Center in Springfield, IL. and a member of Abundant Life Church in Auburn, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, December 29, 2002 in Neece Funeral Home in Waverly, IL. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 2::30 pm at the funeral home.Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to The Triangle Center in Springfield.
