Susan "Susie" Williams (Davidson)
Susan J. Davidson Williams, 37, of White Hall died on Thursday at 10 A.M.
at her residence.
Born in Carrollton on Feb. 18, 1965 she was the daughter of Paul
Davidson of Carrollton and the late Barbara Baumgartner Davidson.
She is survived by a son Joshua Williams of Roodhouse, a grandson
Joshua Williams Jr., her fiance Paul Dawdy of White Hall, 4 sisters: Belinda Gross of Portage, Ind., Tammie Hiles
of Portland, Ore., Pam Eisch of Green Bay, Wisc., Joy Davidson of
Carrollton, 6 brothers: Dick Davidson of Carrollton, Jerry Davidson of
Carrollton, Rick Davidson of Jerseyville, Danny Davidson of Junction City,
Kansas, Paul “David” Davidson Jr. of Divernon and Marion Davidson of
Carrollton. She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother Tony
Davidson.
She had worked for 12 years at Roodhouse Envelope Co. and will be
sadly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Sat. at the Airsman-Hires Funeral
Home in Carrollton where services will be held on Sunday at 2 P.M. with
burial to follow in the Carrollton City Cemetery. Memorials are mentioned to
the family.
Mildred L. Williams (Carter)
Mildred L. Williams, 93, of Winter Haven, Fla. formerly of Carrollton
died on Thursday at Life Care Center in Winter Haven.
She was born in Carrollton on May 29, 1908 and is survived by: 3
daughters: Roberta Ann Buck of Winter Haven, Sarah W. Durham of Winter
Haven, Mildred Jane Morgan of Lawrenceville, Ga. and a son William E.
Williams of West Palm Beach, Fla., 9 grand and 12 great grandchildren.
The retired school teacher moved from Carrollton to Winter Haven in
1979. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winter Haven.
Local visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. on Sunday at the Airsman- Hires
Funeral Home in Carrollton. Graveside rites will be conducted at 10 A.M. on
Monday at the Carrollton City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the
Winter Haven Christian School Building Fund.
Mrs. Marjorie Leigh Williamson (Bossarte)
Marjorie Leigh Williamson, 93, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday evening, December 3, 2002 at Barton W. Stone Christian Home in Jacksonville. She was born on December 22, 1908, in Manchester, the daughter of James Edward and Martha Abigail Pryor Bossarte. She married Charles J. Williamson on December 25, 1932, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on November 15, 1986. She is survived by three sons, Charles P. (wife, Christine) Williamson of Minnetonka, Minnesota, James R. (wife, Alice) Williamson of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Robert L. (wife, Dixie) Williamson of Chatham; one daughter, Carolyn (husband, Gary) Benson of Dunlap; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Alfred C. Bossarte of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Yorke, Pryor, and Raymond “Bud” Bossarte. Mrs. Williamson was a school teacher for School District #117. She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, and the Exchangettes, Edna Harper Church Group, and the Home Bureau. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Barton W. Stone Christian Home.
Mrs. Stella Fae Willis
Stella Fae Willis, age 57, of White Hall, died Tuesday morning, Feb.
12, 2002 at her residence.
She was born March 30, 1944 in Hillview, the daughter of William
Isaac and Vera Leona Blane Willis.
She is survived by three sons, Rex Michaels of White Hall; Larry
Michaels of White Hall; and Billy Michaels of Springfield; two daughters,
Diane Willis of White Hall and Judy Waid of Jacksonville; ten
grandchildren; five brothers, Robert Blane, William Willis and Donald
Willis, all of White Hall; Steve Willis of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Richard
Willis of Jacksonville; and four sisters, Audrey Bick of Kampsville; Emily
Little of White Hall; Rita Willis of Waverly and Regina Kay Hardwick of
Hillview. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Phyllis and
two brothers, Everett and Jack Willis.
Ms. Willis was a member of the Hillview Baptist Church and was a
homemaker.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002
at the White Hall Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 1:00-3:00
p.m. Thursday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. John W. Wilson
John W. Wilson, 76, of Jacksonville died Thursday morning, March 7, 2002 at Skyview Terrace, Ltd. in Jacksonville. He was born on November 29, 1925 in Morgan County the son of Ernest A. and Hazel Becker Wilson. He married Norma Jeanne Wright on December 13, 1947 in Jacksonville and she preceded him in death on April 10, 1975.
He is survived by one daughter, Beverly (husband, Glenn) Coats of Jacksonville; two grandsons, Ernest (wife, Michelle) Coats of Philadelphia, PA and Michael (wife, Amy) Coats of Jacksonville, four great-grandchildren, and one sister, Frances Ann (husband, Leroy) Russell of Lynnville.
Mr. Wilson was a self-employed truck driver and enjoyed fishing and wood crafting. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Gary Allen Wilson
Gary Allen Wilson, 60, of Jacksonville, died Sunday afternoon, May 19, 2002 at his residence. He was born on June 29, 1941 in Versailles the son of Frank Allen and Orilla Arlone Daigh Wilson.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Roberta Chappell of Jacksonville; two daughters, Serena Wilson of Beardstown and Angel Wilson of Jacksonville; two step-daughters, Lynn (husband, Lon) Sumpter and Debra (husband, John) Williams, both of Jacksonville; three step-sons, David (wife, Peggy) Dyer of Beardstown and Mike (wife, Melissa) Chappell and Marshall (wife, Heidi) Chappell, both of Jacksonville; one sister, Pat (husband, Marshall) Hall of Beardstown; and six grandchildren.
Mr. Wilson recently retired from the Jacksonville Developmental Center where he had been employed for 23 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Wilson enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at East Cemetery in Jacksonville. Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the local chapter of B.U.D.S. (Bringing Up Downs Syndrome.)
Mr. Henry Robert Wilson Jr.
Henry Robert Wilson, Jr., 81, of Jacksonville died Thursday morning, June 27, 2002 at his residence. He was born on May 15, 1921 in Collinsville the son of Henry A. and Carrie Bettron Wilson. He married Helen Grandfield on July 21, 1975 in Jacksonville and she survives.
He is also survived by three sons, Robert Wilson, Lee (fiancé, Amy L. Harms) Wilson, and Michael Dunham, all of Jacksonville; one grandchild, and two brothers, Ernie Wilson of Chandlerville and Norman Wilson. He was preceded in death by one sister, Pearl Angelo.
Mr. Wilson was a union bricklayer with Local #279 for many years. Following retirement, he remained active mowing yards and scooping snow.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2002 at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia. The family will meet friends following the service. Memorials are suggested to the family. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Gudrun Augusta Olivia Wilson (Birger)
Gudrun Augusta Olivia Wilson, 93, of Carrollton died on Friday Dec. 13, 2002 at Reisch Memorial Nursing Home in Carrollton. She was born on Dec. 30, 1908 in Chicago the daughter of the late Ernest and Helga Birger. She married Dr. Arthur D. Wilson on April 16, 1933, who practiced in Carrollton for 43 years and died on Feb. 24, 1976. She is survived by 2 sons and daughters in law: Stuart D. and Marianne Wilson of Milwaukee, WI., and Eric B. and Marilyn Wilson of Oskosh, WI.; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Leslie E., Stuart B., and Thomas E. Birger. She was a member of the Carrollton Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. on Friday at the Carrollton First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jerry Boutelle officiating. Burial will be in the Carrollton City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the A.D. and Gudrun Wilson College Scholarship Fund at the Carrollton High School.
Leslie "Dick" Wollenweber
Leslie “Dick” Wollenweber, 72, of Jacksonville died on Sunday afternoon at 12:12 P.M. at his residence. He was born on June 29, 1930 in Woodville Twp. near Carrollton, the son of the late Leslie and Mary Taylor Wollenweber. He married the former Margie Lou Willenburg on May 19, 1957 in Carrollton and she survives. Also surviving are a son Mark Wayne (wife Susan) Wollenweber of Jacksonville, and a daughter Karen Sue (husband Steve) Williams of Jacksonville. Four grandchildren: Amy, Emily and Thomas Wollenweber and a grandson Seth Williams stationed in Korea with the U.S. Army. Three sisters: Louise Baldes (husband Clyde deceased) of Wrights, Betty “Susie”Grummel (husband Steve) of Green field, Judy Rhoads (husband Randall) of Carrollton, 2 brothers: Gerald “Sam” Wollenweber (wife Barbara) of Jacksonville and Glenn “Ed” Wollenweber (wife Nancy) of Carrollton, a sister-in-law Joyce Wollenweber of Green field. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Kenneth and Robert and 2 sisters Elsie and Doris (both infants). Mr. Wollenweber attended Green e Co. Schools and served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force, then farmed in Green e Co. until 1969 he then went to work at Mobil Chemical in Jacksonville retiring in 1992. Visitation will be at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday where services will be held on Thursday at 10 A.M. with burial to follow in Carrollton City Cemetery with full military rites. Mr. Richard Leroy Wood
Richard Leroy Wood 1939-2002 Richard Leroy Wood, 63, of Hettick, Illinois, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2002 at the Prairie Rose Health Care Center in Pana, Illinois. He was born March 9, 1939, the son of Clarence “Pete” Wood and Lola Marie Hart Wood in Scottville, Illinois. He married Brenda Cravens on August 15, 1967, in Palmyra, Illinois. Richard worked for Passalacqua Trucking, Hubbard Feed Mill, Stults Trucking, and Twin C. Trucking. Mr. Wood is survived by his wife; and 5 children; David Wood of El Reno, Oklahoma; Roger (Heather) Wood of Carlinville, Illinois; Tammy (Aron) Huff of Chesterfield, Illinois; Danny (Dawn) Wood of Hettick, Illinois; Tanya (James) Grey of Carlinville, Illinois; 4 grandchildren; Katie, Lakin, Austin, Jasmine, and 2 great grandchildren on the way, 2 brothers, Robert (Rachael) Wood of Shipman, Illinois; Charles “Archie” (Ramona) Wood of Scottville, Illinois; 1 sister, Gladys (Paul) Meisenheimer of Bunker Hill, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; Frances Braley, Shirley Edgington, and Waneta Sides; and 3 brothers; Dale Hart, Otto Wood, and Paul Wood. Graveside services will be at 11am, Tuesday, August 6, 2002 in Panther Creek Cemetery near Scottville, Illinois. Family will meet friends from 10 am till service time Tuesday, at the cemetery. Harold Wayne Woodall
Harold Wayne Woodall, 76, of Quincy passed away Saturday morning (September 28, 2002) at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. He was born March 31, 1926 near Alsey the son of the late Cornelius and Leta Marie Gauges Woodall. He was a 1944 graduate of Winchester High School. He attended Gem City Business College in Quincy. He served in the US Navy during World War 2. He had been employed at Brown Shoe Company in St. Louis and also at Scott Air Force Base. Survivors include his brother Jim (wife Maxine) Woodall of Fairview, IL and a sister Dorothy (husband Donald) Peterson of Martinsburg, West Virginia, 2 nephews and a niece, 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday (October 4, 2002) in the Winchester City Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester.
Carl Lee Woodcock
Carl Lee “Woody” Woodcock, 79, of Alsey passed away Monday night (May 13, 2002) at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield.
He was born October 16, 1922 in Fulton County near Canton the son of Charles Leslie and Martha Chance Woodcock.
He married Judy Arlene Fryman October 24, 1981 at the Alsey Baptist Church in Alsey.
“Woody” had lived a very diverse life. He graduated from Canton High School in 1940. He served in the US Navy during World War 2. He graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in in Chicago in 1947. He was a Drug Detail man for the Upjohn Company in Chicago. He was a licensed real estate salesman. He sold medical equipment and supplies for Mediquip Company and worked as a Boilermaker in Chicago for 3 years. He owned and operated Woodcock Funeral Homes in Winchester and Bluffs. He also owned and operated the Green e Drive-In theatre. He was elected Scott County Commissioner for three terms. He also served as Scott County Coroner.
He loved football and scouted and helped coach the Winchester Wildcats from 1957 until 1994. He was certified as a Defensive Coach in 1990. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid musician, accomplished on the saxophone, harmonica, guitar and keyboard. He also loved to dance.
He was a member of the Winchester United Methodist Church, had previously belonged to the Moose Lodge and the American Legion, he was instrumental in establishing the Scott County Nursing Center and served several years on its Board of Directors.
He is survived by his wife Judy at home, 3 daughters Christi Bell of Rockford, IL; Abbe Rohm of Baltimore, MD; and Julie Riccomini of Saratoga, CA; 2 step-daughters Connie Sue Sturgeon and Cindy Ryan; and a step-son John Fryman all of Alsey. A sister Lois Perardi of Canton. 9 grandchildren Christopher Rohn, Natalie Riccomini, Toby Nicholson, Jessi Sturgeon, J.C. Fryman, Jacob Fryman, Jimmy Fryman, Rachel Ryan and Michael Ryan.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister Jean Johnson and a brother William Woodcock.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Friday (May 17, 2002) at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester. Private burial will be in Bowers Cemetery at Alsey.
Friends may call after 4:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Leacqo Woolsey
Leacqo Woolsey, 73, of Carrollton died on Monday April 1, 2002
unexpectedly in Jacksonville.
Born on Feb. 9, 1929 in Kane he was the son of the late Edward and
Velma Webb Woolsey.
He married the former Betty Turner on April 3, 1948 in Kane and she
survives. Also surviving are 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Jim and Judy
Woolsey of Jerseyville, Robert and Debra Woolsey of Marquette Hts., Il. and
Dennis and Dianna Woolsey of Jerseyville, 9 grandchildren and 4 great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson Toby Woolsey and a
sister Glenda Darr.
He was a member of the Kane Baptist Church for 58 years and worked at
Laclede Steel in Alton for 31 years and also farmed. He graduated from
Carrollton High School in 1947.
Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday at the Airsman-Hires
Funeral Home in Carrollton. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from
1-2 P.M. at the Kane Baptist Church. Services will be held on Wednesday at
2 P.M. at the church. Burial will follow in the Kane Cemetery. Memorials
may be made to the Kane Baptist Church.
