Services for George William Giller, of rural Sorento, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Perfetti Funeral Home there with the Rev. Ernest Flowers officiating. Mr. Giller died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 10, 1999, in Memorial Hospital, Belleville. He was 45 years old on July 19. He was born in Litchfield, a son of charles and Margaret Whitman Giller, and a lifelong resident of the Sorento and Donnellson area. He married Sharon Miller on January 20, 1979, in Coffeen. She survives. Surviving also are sons, George Fredrick Giller, William Dean Giller, both of Sorento; daughters, Becky Lou Giller, Roxy Giller, also of Sorento; brothers, Tommy Giller of Green ville, Kenny Chismarick of Morris, Edward Giller of Sorento; sisters, Sandra Fontana and Nancy Weller of Hornsby, Sue Blackwell of Granite City, Ruth Vollintine of Metropolis, Birdie Eccles, Maggie Haycroft and Lillie Cook, all of Vandalia; and four grandchildren. A brother, Robert Giller, preceded him in death.

Mary E. Gillett, sister of Vi Fellers of Hillsboro, died Friday, July 23, in Arlington, Texas. She was 80 years old on May 18. She was born in Mattoon and after moving to Texas, first lived in Midland before moving to Arlington in 1978. Surviving, besides her sister, Mrs. Park Fellers, are her husband, Bill Gillett; sons, Stephen Gillett of Tulsa, Okla., Roger Gillett of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughter, Martha Brown of Arlington; eight grandchildren and one great grandson. Services were held this morning in the First United Methodist Church of Arlington with burial in Moore Memorial Gardens.

Services for Richard A. Gilmore, of Witt, were held at 11 this morning in Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Witt. The Rev. James Kessler officiated. Burial was in Irving Cemetery. Mr. Gilmore died at 8 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. He was 24 years old on December 5. He worked as a laborer. He was born in Peoria, a son of DeWayne and Brenda Brent Gilmore. Surviving are a son, Seth Gilmore of Nokomis; daughters, Beverley Weatherall and Alexandria Gilmore, both of Havana; his father, DeWayne Gilmore of Wisconsin; his mother, Brenda and stepfather, Paul Moon of Witt; brother, Chad Gilmore of Havana; and sisters, Tanya Carver of San Diego, Calif., and Gloria Bradley of Hillsboro. Preceding him in death was a stepfather, Henry Bradley.

Mr. Gimlin died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 17, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 75 years old on March 19. He worked for 18 years for the Illinois Department of Transporation, retiring April 7, 1989, and was a member of New Hope Church of Litchfield. He was born in Atwater, a son of Enis Edmond and Ethel Davis Gimlin. Surviving are his children, Mary Curry of Litchfield, Carl W. Gimlin of Standard City, Carolyn Gimlin of Carlinville, Michelle Pocklington of Farmersville; and several grandchildren and great grandchidlren. Others surviving include a companion, Frances Presswood of Escondito, Calif. Preceding him in death were a son, Ed Gimlin in 1980 and a sister, Jane Hardt.

Services for Ralph R. Ginder, father of Prudy Chumley of Hillsboro, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Williamson Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial will be in Arcadia Cemetery near Jacksonville. Mr. Ginder, of rural Jacksonville, died Sunday, October 10, 1999, in Passavant Hospital there. He was 87 years old on February 15, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a farmer, teacher in Arcadia school district and inspector for Caterpillar. He was born west of Arcadia, a son of John C. and Clara Goodpasture Ginder. His wife, the former Viola A. Brunk, died in 1998. Surviving are a son, John Ginder of Metamora; another daughter, Betty Roberts of Rushville; brothers, Alvin, Wayne, Dale Ginder, all of Jacksonville, Clyde and Lloyd Ginder, both of Arenzville; sisters, Blanche Henderson of Jacksonville, Ruth Reichert of Virginia, Helen Finn of Chandlerville, Mildred Lewis of Murrayville, Marie Hembrough of Winchester; and six grandchildren.

Viola A. Brunk Ginder, mother of Prudy Chumley of Hillsboro, died Sunday, September 27, 1998, in St. John's Hospital. She resided in Jacksonville and would have been 77 years old on September 30. She was born in Jacksonville, a daughter of Edward and Cora Smith Brunk. She married Ralph R. Ginder in 1939. He survives. Surviving also besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Norman Chumley, are a son, John Ginder of Metamora; another daughter, Betty Roberts of Rushville; sisters, Pearl Smith of rural Jacksonville, Kathryn Prather of Virginia and Velma Wernsman of Germantown Hills; and six grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Williamson Funeral Home, Jacksonville, with burial in Arcadia Cemetery.

Henry F. Giorgis, formerly of Nokomis, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at Hines V.A. Hospital in Hines. He was 83 years old. A longİtime resident of the Joliet area, he was born in Nokomis, a son of John and Mary Giorgis. He served in Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was known as an avid collector of tamps, books and memorabilia. Surviving are four daughters, Chryll Stebbins, Paula Ostrem, Nina Kirincich and Cindy Kontos; brother, Guido Giorgis; sister, Lillian Sharp; step sister, Lena Bortolussi; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Others surviving include a former wife, Jean Sharp. Preceding him in death were sisters, Anna Catrain, Leona Fiocchi and a brother, John Giorgis. Interment was in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

She married Mike Girardi on November 18, 1939, in Carlinville. He survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Carol Ostrowsky and husband Don of Cape Coral, Fla.; sisters, Dorothy Girardi and Irene Filippini, both of Wilsonville; grandsons, Kevin and Jeff Ostrowsky, also of Cape Coral; and three great grandchildren. Virgil A. Girardini, formerly of Eagarville, died at 1:07 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 1999, in St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley. He was 83 years old on June 9, and an Army veteran of World War II as a combat engineer. He was a resident of the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle. Formerly a resident of Peoria, he worked as a multigraf operator at Hiram Walker in Peoria for 40 years before he retired. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria, the Elks and the Old Timer's Baseball Association. He was born in Eagarville, a son of Fred and Kate Schey Girardini. he married Lena M. Frasco on May 16, 1949, in Peoria. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Fred Girardini and wife Christina of Peoria and three grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a brother and a sister. Services for Mr. Girardini will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Vincent de Paul Church with the Rev. Father Patrick Henehan officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. The Wright and Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association or the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle.

Services for Betty Jo Gleason, of Staunton, were held at 10:30 Monday morning in Becker and Son Funeral Home, Mt. Olive. The Rev. Ernest Atwood officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Specials songs played during the service were "Love Me" by Collin Raye, "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You" by NSYNC, and pianist and soloist Rosemary Messner performed "One Day at a Time." Pallbearers were Dustin Bramley, Kenny White, Tony Masinelli, Bill Wilkins, Chad Matesa and Mike Atwood. Mrs. Gleason died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 2, 1999, in St. John's Hospital North, Springfield. She was 61 years old on June 13. She was born in Granite City, a daughter of William James and Katherine Menefee Runner. She attended schools in Canton, Mo., the Baptist grade school in Bridgeton, Mo., and graduated from Pattonville High School in Bridgeton with the class of 1956. She married George Byron Gleason on October 21, 1971, in Granite City. He survives in Staunton. Surviving also are sons, Michael Johnson of St. Louis, Lance Kreger and wife Michelle of Livingston; daughters, Pamela Billings of Staunton, Kathy Bollman and husband Dave of Staunton; mother, Katherine Griggs of Madison; sisters, Shirley Williams of Granite City, Patty Lou Griggs of Madison; 12 grandchildren, David, Eric and Chelsea Bollman of Staunton, Keri, Jessica, Michael and Michelle Johnson of St. Louis, Dustin Bramley of Staunton, Brittani, Dakota and Kane Kreger of Livingston, Tara Billings of Staunton; two great grandchildren, Tiffany and Logan Billings of Staunton. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Maxine Billings and her father, William Runner.
Goad, Jesse M.
Jesse M. "Buzz" Goad died at 11:30 p.m. Friday, December 17, 1999, in Santa Barbara, Calif. He was 84 years old on December 9, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was an aerospace worker before he retired and had lived in Goleta, Calif., for the past 30 years. He was born in Hillsboro, a son of Jesse and Hazel Goad, and was a 1933 graduate of Hillsboro High School. He married Geraldine Lehman in 1938, in Beverly Hills, Calif. She preceded him in death. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Komadine of Wittier, Calif., six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Jesse M. Goad III in 1990 and brothers, William and Robert Goad. The remains were cremated and scattered in the Pacific Ocean. A private family remembrance service will be held after the holidays.

Memorial service to celebrate the life of Kevin David Goad, of Taylor Springs, will be held at at 7 p.m. Friday in Patton Memorial Home, Hillsboro. The Rev. Matt Ferguson of the First Presbyterian Church of Hillsboro will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Mr. Goad died at 9:35 p.m. Monday, July 19, 1999, in his home. He was 43 years old on June 20. He worked for Hillsboro Glass Company for 13 years, from 1983 to 1996, and then attended Vatterott College where he earned a certification as a Master Welder. Along the way he earned 12 certificates. For the past two months he was employed as a welder for Schien Manufacturing in Carlinville. A resident of Hillsboro for most of his life, he graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1975. He was born in Hillsboro, a son of Robert and Rosemary Livingston Goad. He married Tanja Lynn Traylor on March 13, 1982, in Hillsboro, Texas. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Ty Traylor Goad and Tobin Goad, both at home; sister, Susan Hucker of Hillsboro; brothers, Bob Goad and wife Paula of New Berlin, Charles Goad and wife Judy of Hillsboro. Others surviving include his parents-in-law, Kenny and Deanna Traylor and brother in law, Craig Traylor, all of Hillsboro. His parents preceded him in death.

He was the owner and operator of Goby Chevrolet Garage in Newman for 46 years before retiring in 1991, and a 50 year member of the Newman American Legion. He was born in Raymond, a son of Gus T. and Estella Smith Goby. He married Lillian Trinkle on October 5, 1940, in St. Louis. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Kenneth Goby Jr. of Newman; brother, Gerald Goby of Raymond; sister, Anita Hall of Raymond; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Goebel died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in Walnut Ridge Healthcare at Springfield. She was 92 years old on June 29. She was a member of St. Maurcie Catholic Church, the church Altar and Rosary Society, and the Forresters - Catholic Daughters of America. She was born in Harvel, a daughter of Henry and Cora Hamilton Bergschneider. She married Clarence F. Goebel in 1924. He died in 1968. Surviving are sons, John Goebel of Chatham, Bill Goebel of Springfield; daughters, Pat Moore of Rochester, Mary Smith of Overton, Nev., Helen Sullivan of Morrisonville, JoAnn Heil of Viola; a brother, Lawrence Bergschneider of Chicago; sister, Louise Gooden of Springfield; 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral Mass for Sister Mary Emmanuel Goebel, OP, who taught in schools in the area, will be held at 7 p.m. today in the Motherhouse in Springfield. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Sister Mary Emmanuel died Monday, October 12, 1998, in the Sacred Heart Convent at Springfield. She was 97 years old. She was born in Pesotum, a daughter of John and Rosina Reinhart Goebel and later lived in Virden and Morrisonville. She entered the novitiate of the Dominican Sisters in 1918 and pronounced religious vows in 1920. She devoted 54 years to the teaching of science and mathematics in secondary education, after earning a bachelor's degree at DePaul University and a master's degree in science at the University of Illinois. Her teaching career took her to schools in East Moline, Odell, Farmersville, Mt. Sterling, Chicago Heights and Richmond, Mich. She also taught at the Sacared Heart Academy in Springfield for 15 years, and then worked part time as audio visual librarian for 13 years before retiring to the Moutherhouse. Surviving are three nephews and two nieces.

Services for Esther S. Goeke, of Zanesville Township, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church of Litchfield with the Rev. Richard Olson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Meinschein Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Esther S. Goeke Litchfield School Library Memorial Fund or the First Presbyterian Church of Litchfield Memorial Fund. Mrs. Goeke died at 9:47 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 1998, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 83 years old on August 17. She was a teacher for more than 20 years before retiring in 1975. She began her teaching career in 1938, at Litchfield High School. After her marriage the following year, she and her husband, Harold, moved to the Pittsburgh, Pa., area. There, she taught in New Kensington, Pa., and later in Dayton, Ohio. She again taught at Litchfield High School in 1945. After a post war move to the New York City area, the family returned to the Litchfield area and established their home on a farm in Zanesville Township. In the ensuing years, she spent a year teaching at Carlinville High School and then had numerous assignments in the Litchfield Junior and Senior High Schools. She was junior high librarian, senior high yearbook adviser for 12 years, English and journalism instructor. She received both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Education from the University of Illinois, Urbana İ Champaign where she was also a member of Alpha Chi Omega Social Socority and an Education honorary of Kappa Delta Pi. An accomplished pianist and organist, she was frequently called on to play at weddings, funerals, church services, organization meetings, and accompany student soloists. Her participation in the First Presbyterian Church of Litchfield was important to her. She was an ordained elder and served in many ways, including as church school teacher, youth leader, organist and president of Litchfield Presbyterian Women. She served on the General Council of the Southeastern Illinois Presbytery and as president of the Southeastern Illinois Presbytery Women's Association. In addition, she was an active member of the Montgomery County 4İH Club program and was coİleader with her husband of the Harvesters 4İH Club for 15 years. born and reared in Litchfield, she was a daughter of Harry C. and Mary E. Bringhurst Stuttle. Her father was once a state senator. Her great grandfather was William E. Bacon, first mayor of Litchfield. On October 22, 1939, she married Harold E. Goeke in Litchfield. He survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Mary I. Wilde and husband Robert of Alexandria, Va.; son, Joseph C. Goeke and wife Joyce K. of Litchfield; grandchildren, Diane Wilde Christopher and husband David of Strongsville, Ohio, James D. Wilde, Susan E. Goeke; and two great grandchildren, Katrina and Alan Christopher. Services for Esther S. Goeke, of Zanesville Township, were held at 5 p.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church of Litchfield. The Rev. Richard Olson officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Musical selections were "For the Beauty of the Earth," "In My Heart There Rings a Melody" and "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee." Linda Maulding was the organist. A grandson, James Wilde, played a trombone solo. Two readings were given during the Recognition of Life, "Our Granny" and "In Thanksgiving." Mrs. Goeke, 83, died Saturday, September 5, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Goesmann, Mildred Marie
Mildred Marie Goesmann, sister of James K. Hartley of Gillespie, died Friday, July 3, 1998, in Deaconess West Hospital, St. Louis. She was 77 years old on November 6. She retired as a teacher's assistant in the Hazelwood School District. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron in Chapter 161, Florissant, Mo., in 1967. She was born in St. Louis, a daughter of Jesse and Helen Kearney Hartley. She married John Goesmann in 1941 in Bowling Green , Mo. He died in 1982. Surviving also are daughters, Barbara Altman of Hudson, Mass., Chris Hogan and Nan Hartley, both of St. Louis; and four grandchildren. Graveside service was this afternoon in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville.

Clela L. Goff, formerly of Hillsboro, died October 11, 1999, in Port Charlotte, Fla. Inurnment was held Tuesday in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro. Mrs. Goff, wife of the late Lionel E. Goff, Sr., was 92 years old on September 13. She had resided in Port Charlotte since 1989, having moved there from Tuscon, Ariz. Surviving are a son, Lionel E. Goff Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif., three grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were besides her husband was a daughter, Clela Mae Watson.

Olive and St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Granite City, the CFU Croation Lodge 217 and the VFW Auxiliary in Mt. Olive. She was born in Benld, a daughter of John and Marie Rauker Seketa, and graduated from Benld High School in the class of 1936. Her first marriage was to Joseph Michael Dragovich on June 29, 1940, in Benld; he died June 6, 1969. She married Paul Goldasich on April 2, 1977, in the Church of the Ascension, Mt. Olive; he died March 22, 1991. Surviving are sons, Nick Dragovich of Granite City, Joseph Dragovich of American Samoa; and three granddaughters, Deanna Dragovich of Granite City, Anastasia Hendricks of Gillespie and Alexandrea Weinberg of Benld. Preceding her in death were brothers, John, Thomas and Nicholas Seketa and sisters, Katherine Spudic and Mary Seketa. Following the services a lunch for family and friends will be served in the Ascension hall by the church Altar and Rosary Society. Funeral Mass for Frances Dorothy Goldasich was said at 11 this morning in the Church of the Ascension, Mt. Olive, by Rev. Father Larry Anschutz. Altar servers were Daniel Dragovich, Braden Grejtak and Anthony Obernuefemann. Organist Amy Dragovich accompanied the Ascension choir and soloist Rosemary Messner in "Amazing Grace" and "Beyond the Sunset." Dragovich also accompanied Ted Dragovich on brac in performing the Croatian song "Sve Dokje Tuoga Blagoga Oka." Pallbearers were Joe Seketa, Tom Rauker, Ted Dragovich, Fred Schwappach, Dan Rocker and Mike Dragovich. Burial was in Benld Cemetery with prayer offered at graveside by Croatian Lodge speaker Matt Turcol. Following the services a lunch was served for family and friends in the Ascension Hall served by members of the Altar and Rosary Society. Services for Michael Vincent Goldasich, of Litchfield and formerly of Mt. Olive, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home with the Rev. Father Ted Schelich officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Holy Family Church, the Litchfield Park District or to Catholic Charities. Mr. Goldasich, who resided in Heritage Manor of Gillespie, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 92 years on February 2. He was employed by Brown Shoe Company in Litchfield for 40 years until its closing, and then by the State of Illinois Treasurer's office until he retired. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. In his youth he was a talented amateur baseball player and he coached several Litchfield little league baseball teams and 3M baseball teams. He was born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, a son of Michael and Barbara Michalic Goldasich, and became a U.S. citizen in 1930. He married Edith Irene Bouillon on June 15, 1932, in Hamel. She died September 15, 1994. Surviving are sons, James Goldasich and wife Marjorie of McNabb, Michael R. Services for Michael Vincent Goldasich, of Litchfield and formerly of Mt. Olive, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home with the Rev. Father Ted Schelich officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. Goldasich, who resided in Heritage Manor of Gillespie, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 92 years on February 2. He was employed by Brown Shoe Company in Litchfield for 40 years until its closing, and then by the State of Illinois Treasurer's office until he retired. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. In his youth he was a talented amateur baseball player and he coached several Litchfield little league baseball teams and 3M baseball teams. He was born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, a son of Michael and Barbara Michalic Goldasich, and became a U.S. citizen in 1930. He married Edith Irene Bouillon on June 15, 1932, in Hamel. She died September 15, 1994. Surviving are sons, James Goldasich and wife Marjorie of McNabb, Michael R. Goldasich and wife Betty of Jacksonville, Robert Goldasich and wife Jo of Fayetteville, Tenn.; a brother, Paul Goldasich of Green ville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Vanessa Kramer of Carlinville, Gail Cochran of Timewell, Keirsa Grosenback of Crystal Lake, Matthew Goldasich of Springfield, Carol Goldasich of Jacksonville, Kevin Goldasich of Fayetteville; and five great grandchildren. Mr. Goldasich, 92, died Saturday, March 13, in St. Francis Hospital.
Golden, Esther M.
Services for Esther M. Golden, of Nokomis, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Stiehl - Dawson Funeral Home, Witt, with the Rev. Jeff Bapst officiating. Burial will be in McCord Cemetery at Hillsboro. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mrs. Golden died at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. She was 72 years old on October 15. She was born in Witt, a daughter of John and Lettie Sammons Altevogt. Her husband, John D. Golden, died October 9, 1993. Surviving are a daughter, Martha Brumberlow and husband Rick of Nokomis; sisters, Mary Terness of Hillsboro, Dorothy Hoffman of Oreana, Paulina Roemig of Florida; four grandchildren, two step grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, John D. Golden Jr., daughters, Barbara and Esther Golden; brothers, Guy, Henry and Frank Altevogt; sisters, Bertha Ishmael, Hazel Rowland, Ethel Thiele and Catherine Williams.
Goodall, Zelda
Zelda Goodall, formerly of Hillsboro and Litchfield, died Friday, April 2, 1999, in Cali Mesa, Calif. She was 84 years old on March 25. A licensed funeral director, she was active in the family business, Carroll Funeral Home, while she resided in Litchfield. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Litchfield and a founding member of the Zonta Club of Litchfield. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1933. She was born in Hillsboro, a daughter of Roscoe and Clara Elledge Moomaw. She married Lee T. Carroll in November 1935 in Iowa. He died in April 1956. Surviving are daughters, Fran Gambino and husband Richard of Redlands, Calif., Nancy Rhodes and husband Jim of Litchfield; sisters, Nadine Walker of Litchfield, Barbara Pfeiffer of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren, Lee and Chuck Compton of Litchfield, Bobby Barbibeau of Redlands; and four great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a sister, Maxine Reimringer and her step mother, Martha Moomaw who resided in Edwardsville. Memorial service for Mrs. Goodall will be held locally at a later date. In the obituary of Zelda Goodall which appeared in Tuesday's paper, Martha Moomaw, her step mother, should have been listed among others surviving. Mrs. Moomaw resides in Edwardsville. Tony Bell, pastor of St. Timothy United Methodist Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Goodall, 84, died Friday, April 2, in Cali Mesa, Calif. Her obituary was in the paper on April 13.
Gooden, Louise B.
Services for Louise B. "Berky" Gooden, formerly of Harvel, were held this morning in Taylorville with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery there. Mrs. Gooden died Friday, October 1, 1999, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. A resident of Taylorville, she was 80 years old on February 19. She retired from Morton's Pharmacy in Tayloville in 1986 after 38 years of service. She was born in Harvel, a daughter of Henry and Cora Hamilton Bergschneider. She married Dwight E. "Jim" Gooden in 1947 in Taylorville; he died in 1981.
Gorman, Opal A.
Opal A. Gorman, of Farmersville, died Sunday, November 8, 1998, in her home. She was 84 years old on September 11. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Farmersville, and the Farmersville Senior Citizens. She was born in Altus, Oklahoma, a daughter of James and Mary Havron Vollentine. She married Michael Gorman in 1933 in Farmersville. He died in 1961. Surviving are sons, Michael J. Gorman of Farmersville, Martin L. Gorman of Breese, Robert L. Gorman of Waggoner; daughters, Mary Alice Ryan of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rose Gorman of Woodland Hills, Calif.; a brother, Cleo Vollentine of Litchfield; sisters, Eva Morton of Azle, Texas, Frances Aherin of Princeton, Cleta Bray of Girard, Mary Ellen Schnedeke of Carlinville; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Friends may call in Bramley Funeral Home, Divernon, from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be said on Wednesday in St. Mary's Church, Farmersville. The time has not yet been set. Grabow, Beatrice F.
Services for Beatrice F. Grabow, of Irving, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Patton Memorial Home, Hillsboro, with the Rev. Bill Baughman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hillsboro, officiating. Committal service and burial of the cremains will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Irving Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Grabow died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 1998, in Hillsboro Health Care Center. She was 73 years old on November 20. She worked for Hillsboro Glass for 33 years before retiring in July 1982, and had resided in Irving since November 1973. Before that she resided in Scram City for 13 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hillsboro, VFW Auxiliary to Litchfield Post 3912, and the Friday Night Women's Bowling League in Hillsboro. She was born in Ramsey, a daughter of Charles, Sr., and Anna Eller Casey. She married Everett "Bud" Grabow on October 31, 1961, in Hillsboro. He survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Louise Gates and husband Paul of Hillsboro; sons, Larry Allen White of Taylor Springs, Ron Grabow and wife Marsha of Irving, Gary Grabow and wife Linda of Aurora; brothers, Dale Casey and wife Janet of Fort Pierce, Fla., Charles Casey, Jr., and wife Maxine of Schram City, Cordon Casey of Harvel, David Scott of Nokomis, Sam Casey of Hillsboro; sister, Charlotte Havron of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, Sonya Gates, Kelly Gates, Christopher White, Jeremy White, Angie Satterlee, Ronnie Grabow, Johnathan Grabow and Matthew Grabow; and five great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Robert Grabow; a brother, Billy Casey and a sister, Darlene Sergott.
