Services for Annabelle Harlan, of Waggoner, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Ellinger - Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, 437 North Sixth street, Springfield, with the Rev. James D.W. Borop officiating. Mrs. Harlan died at 1:49 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 1999, in the emergency room at St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 73 yers old on February 19. She worked for Illinois Bell Telephone for 20 years before retiring in 1973. She was active in the Meals on Wheels program in Waggoner. She was also an usher at the University of Illinois, Springfield. Her memberships included the Order of the Eastern Star chapter in Girard, the Royal Neighbors of America and Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of the Christian Chruch of Waggoner for 41 years and taught Sunday School there. She was born in Illiopolis, a daughter of Albert and Myrtle Rager Rogers. She married Claude William Harlan on May 31, 1942, in St. Louis. He survives. Surviving also are a son, Claude W. Harlan Jr. and wife Carol of Plainview; brother, Albert Rogers of Girard; half brother, Larry Rogers of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Alberta Moore of Dawson, Doris Grubb, Mary Miloshevich, Margaret "Peg" Smith, all of Springfield; half sister, Pam Sartore of Springfield; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Harley, Mark L.
Mark L. Harley, formerly of Litchfield, died in an early morning house fire January 1, 1999, in Corning, Arkansas. He was 40 years old. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Eugene and Lorraine Marit Harley, and attended elementary schools here. The family moved to Arkansas. He graduated from high school in Corning and continued to reside and work there. Surviving are two children, Joshua and Samantha Harley of St. Louis; his mother and stepfather, Lorraine and Jerry Lavenhagen of Effingham; brothers, Dan and Roger Harley of Corning, Tom Harley of St. Louis and Dewayne Harley of Terre Haute, Ind. Other survivors include an aunt, Wanda Johnson of Raymond; uncle Paul Marit of Spring Green , Wis.; grandfather, Dwight Marit of Spreen Green ; and six cousins. Preceding him in death were his father, Eugene Harley and grandparents, Ruth and Leroy Harley and Wilma Marit. Memorial services are being planned for a later date in Corning,Ark.
Harmening, Edna C.
Edna Caroline Harmening, mother of Pat Brink of Hillsboro, died Thursday, January 14, 1999, in Rosewood Care Center, Swansea. She was 84 years old on June 7. She was a daughter of Herman and Caroline Renkensmeyer Schrieber and married Amos Harmening on May 18, 1935, in Covington. They made their home on the family farm near New Minden. He died September 4, 1986. Surviving besides Mrs. William Brink are daughters, Sharon Hermening of New Baden, Carol Bartelsmeyer and husband Fred of Belleville, Norma Kaufman and husband Morris of Nashville; and eight grandchildren. Services were held Sunday in Nashville.
Harms, Melinda L.
Services for Melinda L. Baugher-Harms, of Hillsboro, were held at 10 this morning in Patton Memorial Home there. The Rev. Randy Sands, pastor of the Free Methodist Church of Hillsboro, officiated. Burial was in Wares Grove Cemetery, Butler. Mrs. Harms died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. She was 26 years old on October 26. She resided most of her life in Hillsboro, graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1990, and from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a degree in Psychology in 1997. For the past two years she worked as a case worker for the Macoupin County Mental Health Department of Aging. During her school years she worked at the Hillsboro IGA. In high school she was a member of the Key Club and on the student council. She was active in the school band, winning All State Band honors in both her junior and senior years and the John Phillip Sousa award in her senior year. In college she was active in the Psi-Chi Honor Sorority for Psychology. She was born in Madrid, Spain, a daughter of Dann and Paula Isaacs Baugher. She married Darin Harms on June 13, 1998, in Wares Grove Lutheran Church, Butler. He survives. Surviving also are her parents, Dan Baugher of San Antonio, Texas, Paula Baugher of Hillsboro; maternal grandparents, Billy and Ann Marie Isaacs of Hillsboro; paternal grandmother, Louise Ashley of Eldorado. Others surviving include her parents in law, Henry and Gerry Green Harms of Hillsboro.
Harper, Linda B.
Memorial service for Linda Bandy Harper, sister of several local residents, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Harper, of Charleston, W.Va., died Saturday, October 23, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital at Charleston after a long illness. She was 55 years old on May 19. She was a daughter of June and Dorothy Pease, and wife of Roy Harper. Her husband survives in Charleston and her mother in Taylor Springs. Others surviving are a son, Roy Harper Jr.; daughter, April Bailey and husband Don; brothers, Robert Bandy of Litchfield, Louie Pease of Schram City, Dennis Pease of Irving; sisters, Alice Wilson of Litchfield, Stella Stokes of Hillsboro, Sally McFadden of Hillsboro; and two grandchildren. Her father preceded her in death. Memorial service for Linda Bandy Harper was held at 1 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church, Hillsboro. Mrs. Harper, 55, died Saturday, October 23, 1999, in Charleston, W.Va., after a long illness. Her obituary was in Monday's paper.

Services for Olive Lenora Harrigan, of Standard City, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville with the Rev. Jeanne Lischer officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Shriner's Childrens Hospital or St. Paul's UUC Building Fund. Mrs. Harrigan died at 8:04 a.m. Friday, March 5, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 93 years old on November 11. She worked for the Secretary of State's office for eight years and also in the records department of Memorial Medical Center. After retirement she took care of children in her home. She was a member of St. Paul's Church of Christ, the Eastern Star Abraham Lincoln Chapter 509 of Springfield, the women's auxiliary to VFW Post 4495 of Taylorville and the State Employees Association. She was born in Shaws Point Township, a daughter of William and Correna Edwards Schwertfager. She married Ed Harrigan in 1940 in Chicago. He died in 1952. Surviving are sons, Robert E. Muhlenbruch of Standard City, William D. Muhlenbruch of Stockton, Calif.; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Wayne Muhlenbruch on February 26, 1998 and a half sister, Wilma Schwertfager.

Services for Maynard W. Harrington, of Litchfield, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Meinschein Funeral Home with Steve Revisky of The Christian Church of Litchfield officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday in the funeral home from noon until the time of service. Mr. Harrington died at 4:57 a.m. Sunday, July 4, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 86 years old on April 6. He worked as a truck driver before he retired and resided in the Litchfield area all of his life. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Francis and Margaret Duncan Harrington. He married Ruth M. Culp on January 6, 1938, in Missouri. She died December 3, 1994. Surviving are a son, John P. Harrington and wife Gini of Northville, Michigan; daughters, Ruth Ann Hodges and husband Melvin of Jacksonville, Millie McConathy and husband Jim of Litchfield; sister, Helen Kucharski and husband Eugene of Sun City, Arizona; four grandchildren, Marty and Steve Hodges of Jacksonville, Maureen McConathy of Litchfield and Neil Harrington of Northville; and four great granddaughters. Preceding him in death were sons, Glenn A. Harrington on June 3, 1992, and another son in infancy; two brothers and one sister. Services for Maynard W. Harrington, of Litchfield, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Meinschein Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Revisky officiated. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Ella Mae Harris, mother of Debrah Meyers and husband Harold of Litchfield, died Saturday, September 5, 1998, in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. Mrs. Harris, a resident of Assumption, was 79 years old on May 10. She was born in Waynesburg, Ky., a daughter of Baxter Monroe and Myrtle Britton Simpson. She married Lloyd H. Harris in 1935, in Ottenheim, Ky. He died in 1980. Surviving are four other daughters, Eva Martin and Rosetta Cochran, both of Stanford, Ky., Sally Pankey of Danville, Ky., Julie Lowis of Palmer; six sons, John, Eddie and Cecil Harris, all of Taylorville, Kirby Harris of Edwardsville, Ralph and Jimmy Harris both of Assumption; sisters, Elsie Dowell and Frances Sndyer, both of Waynesburg, Ky., Vernie Playforth of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Marvin and Ernest Simpson of Cincinnati, Bennie Simpson of Waynesburg, Ky.; 23 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Services were held this morning in Taylorville. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery at Assumption.

Services for Helen P. Harrison, mother of Clara Mae Harrison Fleming of Hillsboro and Dale Harrison of Fillmore, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Allen and Sutton Funeral Home, Fillmore. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery there. Mrs. Harrison, of Vandalia, died Thursday, July 23, 1998, in Fayette County Hospital. She was 75 years old on May 20. She was born in Fayette County, a daughter of Alva and Florence Horton Jackson. She married Bert Harrison in 1940. He preceded her in death. Surviving also are four other sons, Herbert D. Harrison of Bingham, Elbert D., David and Dean Harrison of Vandalia; another daughter, Kay Sue Chase of Vandalia; a sister, Wanda Gelsinger of Vandalia; 23 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Mr. Hart died at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 1999, in Heritage Manor of Litchfield. He was 79 years old on December 10, and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He retired from Yellow Freight Trucking Company in St. Louis after 28 years of service. In his youth he graduated from Pioneer Instrument Service School in St. Louis and Air Force Technical School then worked at Curtis Wright Aircraft Company in St. Louis. He entered the Army Air Corps during World War II as an airplane instrument mechanic with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He also served at Chanute Air Base in Rantoul and at Lincoln Air Base in Lincoln, Neb. He returned to Litchfield in 1947, working at Wikomi and then as a truck driver for a number of trucking companies, including Yellow Freight. He was a member of Union Avenue Christian Church and American Legion Post 436. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Orville and Edith Mitchell Hart. He married Deana I. Williams on June 6, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Gerald D. Hart and wife Nancy of Chantilly, Va.; daughter, Sharon Wood and husband Michael of rural Litchfield; sister, Vivian Leinicke of Litchfield; seven grandchildren, Stephen Fiscor of Chicago, Jaime Koonce and Corey wood of Litchfield, Amy Blanton, Jason, Angela, Trevor Hart, all of Chantilly; and four great grandchildren, Adrienne and Kristin Koonce of Litchfield, Jesse and Megan Blanton of Chantilly. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Neil and Orlan "Bill" Hart. Services for Gerald M. Hart, of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Meinschein Funeral Home. The Rev. Ray Johnson officiated. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Musical selections were "How Great Thou Art" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee." Shirley Edwards was the vocalist. Taps was played by Heidi Johnson. Mr. Hart, 79, died Tuesday, June 22 in Heritage Manor of Litchfield.

Mr. Hart died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, August 4, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 78 years old on January 6, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He worked in the custodial department of the Secretary of State's office for 15 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Everett C. Burton American Legion Post 701 in Waggoner İ Farmersville. In his early years he attended Waggoner Christian Church. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Aaren and Berniece Henderson Hart. He married Mildred Schoen on December 15, 1940, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Derald "Butch" Hart and wife Linda of Raymond; brother, Larry Hart of Athens; grandson, Darren Hart of Wilmington, N.C.; step grandchildren, Tammy Johnson, Mike Hart and Alyssa Crawford; step great grandchildren, Dakota and Gabrielle Johnson and Alexis Crawford. A sister, Betty Everett preceded him in death.

Burial was in Clear Springs Cemetery in rural Hillsboro. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Clear Springs Cemetery Association. Mrs. Hartgrove died at 10 a.m. Friday, October 1, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 88 years old on February 16. She was a talented seamstress, having worked for the Pants Factory, Rice Stix and Betty D. Garment for more than 40 years. She attended Craigtown Grade School, Ramsey High School and Charleston Teachers College. She was born in Hurricane Township of Fayette County, a daughter of James Bradley and Rose M. Bauerle Sanders. She married Turner Hartgrove on December 24, 1937 in St. Louis and they celebrated their Golden anniversary in 1987. He died March 6, 1991. They only child, Donna Jeane Hampton, preceded them in death on November 25, 1968. Surviving are four grandchildren, Carol Berry and husband Alan of rural Hillsboro, Mary Horn and husband Kevin of Springfield, Gary Hampton and wife Debbie of rural Litchfield, Connie Hampton of Columbus Air Force Base, Miss.; six great grandchildren, Scott, Brad and Sarah Deaton of rural Hillsboro, Carissa, Samuel and Kaitlin Hampton of rural Litchfield. Also, brothers, Morris Sanders of Bingham, Ray Sanders of Ramsey; sisters, Betty Worker of Ramsey, Louise Lee of Flint, Mich. Preceding her in death besides her parents, husband and daughter were a grandson, Dale Eugene Hampton in 1959; brother, Milton Sanders in 1979; sisters, Vada Worker, Melba Morse and Leola and Virginia Sanders as young children.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Meinschein Funeral Home. Mrs. Hartke died at 9:05 a.m. Sunday, March 14, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 94 years old on March 11. She farmed with her husband, Edgar, and enjoying flowers, she took charge of providing the flowers for her church, Trinity Lutheran, for many years. She was a member of the women's ELCW of the church. She was born in Bunker Hill, a daughter of Henry and Emma Erelman Gosch. She married Edgar W. Hartke on February 25, 1936, in the parsonage of Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Litchfield. He died June 24, 1987. Surviving are a son, Maynard W. Hartke and wife Leta of rural Litchfield; daughters, Dorothy Ernst and husband Harvey, Evelyn Schuette and husband Alvin, all of rural Litchfield; brother, Edward Gosch of Bunker Hill; grandchildren, Amy Glisson of Louisville, Ky., Abby Schuette of Normal, April Schuette of St. Louis, Charles Ernst, Elaine Frerichs, Paul Ernst and David Hartke, all of rural Litchfield; and 11 great grandchildren. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed traveling. He was born in Litchfield, a son of August Frederick and Anna Marie Rull Hartke. He married Ellen Marie Boden on April 13, 1941, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Larry Hartke and wife Marilyn, Mark Hartke and wife Marcie, all of Litchfield; daughter, Diane Cohn and husband John of Litchfield; brothers, Oliver Hartke and wife Mabel of Mt. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Litchfield, the Ladies Aid of the church and the Farm Bureau Women's committee. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and her children and grandchildren. She was born in Mt. Olive, a daughter of Charles and Anna Tiemann Zuber. She married Delbert W. Hartke on June 17, 1939, in Macoupin County. He survives. Surviving also are a son, Ralph Hartke Sr. and wife Beverly of Maple Valley, Wash.; daughter, Beverly Fearfott and husband Jack of El Paso, Ill.; a sister, Catherine Wegner of Staunton; two grandchildren, Ralph Hartke Jr. of Gainesville, Fla., and Julie Sargent of Solana Beach, Calif.; and two great grandchildren, Brandon and Kennan Harkte of Gainesville. Mildred Matli Hartlieb, formerly of Litchfield, died Thursday, January 28, 1999, in Pana Community Hospital. She was 70 years old on June 12. She was born in rural Litchfield, a daughter of Bernard G. and Anna Josephine Kellenberger Matli. She married Ivan A. Hartlieb on October 11, 1941, in Raymond. He survives. Surviving also are a son, Ron Hartlieb of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughters, Linda Wells of Green ville, Ky., and Karen Ann Swisher of Pana; and five grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pana, with the Rev. Father Donald Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in St. Raymond Cemetery, Raymond. He was 84 years old on March 22. He farmed most of his life and also worked for Allis Chalmers in Springfield for 25 years. He was born in Centralia, a son of Frederick Alphonse and Myrtle Estelle Bayley Hartman. He married Lela Lorene McCammon on June 14, 1939, in Mechanicsburg. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Teddy Lee Hartman and wife Jette of Byron; daughter, Tamela Lorene Matthews of Springfield; sister, Helen Browning of Coffeen; four grandchildren, Wendy Griffey of Byron, Danielle Keith of Coffeen, Meagan Matthews of Mt. Arie, N.C., Jesse Matthews of Springfield; and two great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a brother, Merritt Dean Hartman; sister, Henrietta Hartman; and a grandchild, Shawn Hartman.

Steven Lamar Hartman, son of Lamar and Hester Anne Morehead Hartman of Irving, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind., having suffered an apparent stroke. He was 52 years old on February 27, and a Navy veteran. He resided in Indianapolis and worked as an over the road truck driver. He previously worked for an insurance company. He was born in Hillsboro and graduated from high school in New Salem, Ind. His marriage to the former Barbara Frazier ended in divorce. Surviving besides his parents are a son, Michael of Holland, Mich.; daughter, Laura Hartman of Pittsboro, Ind.; brothers Barry Hartman of North Augusta, S.C., Jeffrey Hartman of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Marianne Owens of Spring, Texas; and a grandson, Taylor of Brownsburg, Ind. A daughter, Lisa, died in an auto accident in the early 1990s.
Harty Sr., Paul Hampton
Paul Hampton Harty, Sr., father of Paul Harty, Jr., of Taylor Springs, died Wednesday, November 18, 1998, in Dextor Memorial Hospital, Dextor, Mo. A resident of Zalma, Mo., he was 76 years old on March 9. He farmed and worked in farm related businesses most of his life in southeast Missouri and west central Illinois. He was also an Army veteran of World War II. He was born in Bloomfield, Mo., a youngest of eight children of Ruben Franklin and Cora Elsie Carnall Harty. He married Celesta Izella Lewis on October 4, 1942. She died April 4, 1969. He later married Lelah Lavern Simmers Schrader on December 10, 1977. She survives. Surviving also are other sons, Jack Harty of Prairie City, Gordon Harty of St. Peters, Mo., Gary Harty of Easton, Pa.; daughters, Eileen Lafary of Bushnell, Phyllis McGuire of Winchester, Paulette Johnston of Williams, Ariz., Mary Holdiness of Jackson, Mo., Ramona Harty of Cape Girardeau; step sons, Randy Schrader of advance, Mo., Mike Schrader, Stan Schrader of Arab, Mo., Jeff Schrader of Sturdivant, Mo.; a brother, Claude Harty of Flint, Mich.,; a sister, Mary Brewer of Fulton, Mo.; 28 grandchidlren, eight great grandchidlren, 14 step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Services were held in Advance, Mo. with burial in Bloomfield Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
Harvey, Sr., Russell E.
Graveside services for Russell E. Harvey, Sr., father of Shirley Gunn of Raymond, will be held privately. His remains were to be cremated. Boardman - Smith Funeral Chapel, Springfield, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Harvey, of Springfield, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in Doctors Hospital there. He was 84 years old on May 2. He was a manager for Thrifty Drug Stores and also worked for The State Journal - Register before he retired. He was born in Athens, a son of Claude and Loretta Overstreet Harvey. His wife, the former Mary Alice Gowin, survives. Surviving also, besides Mrs. William Gunn of Raymond, are sons, Russell Harvey Jr. of Lincoln, Rich Harvey of New Berlin; another daughter, Marilee Cramer of Sherman; 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Harwood, Jr. George W.
Services for George William "Jack" Harwood, Jr., of Springfield and step son of the late George Wise, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bisch Funeral Home West Chapel with the Rev. Terry Edele and the Rev. Kathy Krstulovich, pastor and associate pastor of the Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery. Patton Memorial Home, Hillsboro, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the Bisch West Chapel. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Organ Fund at Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church, of which he was a member, or to the Sangamon County Chapter of the American Heart Association. Mr. Harward died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, October 2, 1998, in his home. He was 66 years old on January 15, and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a life long resident of Springfield and was most recently employed as a greeter at Sam's Wholesale Club. He retired in 1989 from industrial sales at Blacks Hardware where he had worked for 25 years. Before that he worked for 14 years for Sangamo Electric.He was co founder and charter member of the Land of Lincoln Barbershop Chorus, of which he served as president three times. He was also a past member of the Springfield Home Builders Association. He was born in Springfield, a son of George William Harwood Sr. and Amy Raymond Harwood Wise, and graduated from Feitshans High School in 1949. He married Carol Fuller on July 21, 1957, in Hillsboro. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Carla Rae Matrisch and husband David of Auburn, Amy Lyn Kurfman and husband Charles of Jacksonville; and four grandchildren, Brad Clark Matrisch, Caleb Matrisch, Lily Kurfman and Hope Kurfman. A sister, Peggy Ann Sommer, preceded him in death.
Haslett, Edwin L.
Edwin L. Haslett, brother of Twila Presnell of Nokomis, died Wednesday, August 26, 1998, in St. Elmo. He was 74 years old. He was a son of the Robert and Maude Haslett, and was retired from Crane Packing in Vandalia. Surviving besides his sister are a son, Steve of Altamont; brothers, Don of colorado, Joe of Missouri, Bill of Kentucky, Verlin of Lebanon, Henry of Brownstown; other sisters, Shirley Reimer of Decatur, Virginia Strancee of Arkansas, Wanda Julius and Glynis Wright of St. Elmo. Preceding him in death besides his parents were three brothers and three sisters.
Hasquin, Ida Elizabeth

Mrs. Hasquin died at 6 this morning, Thursday, March 11, 1999, in Heritage Manor of Gillespie. She was 83 years old on May 8. She was born in Sawyerville, a daughter of John and Estelle Malone Morgan. Her husband, Joseph Hasquin, died November 17, 1985. Surviving are sons, David Hasquin of Gillespie, Emil Hasquin of Frankfort, Ky., Robert and Frank Hasquin, both of Carlinville; a daughter, Estelle Fleenor of Kingsport, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were sons, John and Joseph Hasquin; brothers, Ray, Charles and Jesse Morgan; and a sister, Mae Meyers.
Hassel, Oscar J.
Oscar J. Hassel, formerly plant manager and general superintendent of American Zinc, now Midwest Zinc, in Taylor Springs, died January 5, 1999, in a nursing home at Hot Springs Village, Ark. He was 84 years old on October 24. He moved to Hillsboro in 1957 and became plant manager in 1964. From 1971 to 1979, he was general superintendent. In 1979, he and his wife, Fern, moved to Arkansas. While in Hillsboro, he was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church, Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge 51 AF&AM and the Ansar Shrine in Springfield. He was born in Parsons, Kan., a son of Ralph and Agnes Fisher Hassel, and married Fern Jamison in Olathe, Kan., on June 1, 1938. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Patricia Beers of Springfield; sisters, Zelma Bayless of Parsons, Kan., Martha Runyon of Pittsburgh, Kan.; and one grandson, Larry Beers. Mr. Hauschild died at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 1999, in Litchfield HealthCare Center. He was 83 years old on April 7. He was a farmer before he retired. He was born in Gillespie, a son of Otto and Pearly Curtis Hauschild. He married Wannabelle Smith on January 3, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Leo Hauschild of Shipman; brother, Gilbert Hauschild of Guttenburg, Iowa; grandchildren, Amy and Andrew Hauschild of Shipman. Preceding him in death was a son, Larry Hauschild.
Haustein, Minnie
Services for Minnie Haustein, of Staunton, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Williamson Funeral Home there with the Rev. Mark Allison officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Staunton Memorial Hospital or the First United Baptist Church of Staunton. Mrs. Haustein died at 10:14 a.m. Sunday, April 15, 1999, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. She was 95 years old on December 16. She owned City Hotel in Staunton, was a member of the First United Baptist Church of Staunton, Staunton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Pocahontas Lodge. She was born in St. Louis, a daughter of Joseph and Christine Schneider Gunn. Her first husband, Matt Spagnola, preceded her in death. Her second husband, Lawrence Haustein, died September 25, 1990. Surviving are a sister in law, Ruby Gunn of St. Louis and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were brothers, William, George, Walter, Joseph and Arthur Gunn.
Havron, Katherine
Services for Katherine Havron, of Panama, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Perfetti Funeral Home there with the Rev. Linda Peyla officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Panama. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mrs. Havron died at 2 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 80 years old on February 23. She spent most of her life in the Panama area. She worked at Hillsboro Glass, retiring in 1981. She was a charter member of the Panama VFW Auxiliary. She was born in Germany, a daughter of Henry and Mariea Marak Bremen. She and her husband, Gomer Havron, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year, having been married in St. Louis on February 21, 1939. Surviving also are a son, Charles "Butch" Havron of Panama; daughters, Henrietta Miller and husband Marvin, Karen Chesser and husband Terry, and Mary Kay Spensberger, all of Panama; sisters, Mary Faudi of Panama and Melba Rossa of Collinsville. Preceding her in death were a grandchild and two brothers.
