Hutchins, Josephine M.

Services for Josephine M. Hutchins, nee Bensko, formerly of Witt, will be held at noon Saturday in St. Barbara's Catholic Church there with the Rev. Father Pat Jakel officiating. Burial will be in St. Barbara's Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday in StiehlİDawson Funeral Home, Witt, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Hutchins died Tuesday, November 10, in her home in Tinley Park. She was 77 years old on July 6. She was a member of St. Georges Church in Tinley Park. She was born in Witt and was married to Leo Hutchins. He died December 27, 1990. Surviving are a daughter, Leona Gamache and husband Alan of Matteson; sons, Richard Hutchins and Edward Hutchins of Tinley park; sisters, Mary Fedele of Ballwin, Mo., Margaret Bensko of Witt, Dolores Bensko of Tinley Park; brothers, John Bensko and wife Reba of Boulder, Colo., Raymond Bensko and wife Gloria of Williamsville; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Among others surviving is a sister in law, Lillian Bensko of Hazelwood, Mo. A brother, Michael Benkso, died in February 1967.

Hutchins, Vivian C.

Services for Vivian Carricker Hutchins, formerly of Mt. Olive and Witt, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Witt United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gloria Davis officiating. Burial will be in Witt Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Stiehl-Dawson Funeral home, Witt. Mrs. Hutchins, of Ocala, Fla., died at 11:14 p.m. Friday, April 30, 1999, in her home. She was 63 years old on October 19. She was retired from Hillsboro Glass Company and a member of the Witt Methodist Church. She was born in Witt, a daughter of Everett and Velma Grounds Carricker. Her husband, Ernest Hutchins, preceded her in death. Surviving are seven children, Steven Hutchins of Mt. Olive, David Hutchins of Brighton, Vicky Tipsword of Ocala, Susan Santastevan of Dunnwllon, Fla., Terry Stratton of Mt. Olive, Joetta Burris of West Palm Beach, Fla., Tricia Kierbach of Mt. Olive; sisters, Patricia and Judy Carricker, both of Springfield; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A grandchild preceded her in death.

Hutchison, Debbie

Funeral Mass for Debbie Hutchison, of Hillsboro, will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Agnes Catholic Church there. The Rev. Father Dave Schmidt will be the celebrant, assisted by the Rev. Father Pat Jakel. Burial will be in Hubbart Cemetery at Beecher City. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Patton Memorial Home, Hillsboro. Prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Louis Catholic School in Nokomis or to Masses. Mrs. Hutchison died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 1999, in here home in rural Hillsboro. She was 39 years old on October 15. She was a teacher in the primary grades at St. Louis School. A resident in the Hillsboro area for the past 12 years, she was an active member of St. Agnes Church. She particiapted in the RCIA program, the children's Sunday School program and was a member of the CCW. She graduated from St. Anthony High School in Effingham in 1978 and from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1988. She was born in Effingham, a daughter of Don and Joan Willenborg Koester. She married Harry Hutchison on June 14, 1980, in Effingham. Both he and her parents survive. Surviving also are a daughter, Hope, and a son, Aaron, both at home; brothers, Greg, Carl, Alan and Dale Koester, all of Effingham; and her grandmother, Mildred Koester of Effingham.

Huttes, Julia

Julia Huttes, formerly of Nokomis, died Sunday, January 24, 1999, in Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana. She was 99 years old on June 6. She was born in Nokomis, a daughter of Frank and Pauline Hawkey Mizeur. She married Edmond A. Huttes in pana in 1925. he died in 1969. Surviving is a son, Gene Huttes and wife Rosemary of Pana. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesay in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pana, with burial in Calvary Cemetery there. Kennedy and Sons Funeral Home, Pana, is in charge of arrangements.

Ice, John

Services for John Ice, of Hillsboro, were held Monday in Crain Funeral Home, Tamms. Burial was in McCrite Cemetery there. Mr. Ice died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, in Sunrise Rehabilitation Center, Carlinville. He was 82 years old last May 22. He was born in Miller City, a son of James and Stella Simpson Ice. He married Ruby Marvell on April 8, 1939. She died November 18, 1995. Surviving are daughters, Carol Joselyn of Scandia, Minn., Phyllis Holloway of Hillsboro; sons, Phillip Ice of Thonotoassa, Fla., Jerry Ice of Vera, Okla., Gary Ice of Denver, Colo.; brother, James Ice of Miller City; sisters, Martha Nehring of Murphysboro, Florence Miller of Anna, Audrey Hood of Van Cleave, Miss.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Ingle, Naomi O.

Services for Naomi Orie Ingle, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Lellelid, interim pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Plummer Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Montgomery West Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Ingle died at 4:25 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 72 years old on May 24. She was employed in bookkeeping as an accounts receivable and inventory clerk in the office of the Litchfield Creamery Company, now known as The Milnot Company, for more than 30 years before she retired in 1988. She had also been employed at the J.J. Newberry department store and Montgomery's Photo Studio, both once located in downtown Litchfield. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and had served as the church secretary. She was also a member of the Phi Beta Phi sorority. She enjoyed bowling. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of Fred and Orie Klein Rentz, and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1945. She married John V. Ingle on July 19, 1947, in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. He survives. Surviving also are a son, Dana Lee Ingle of Menasha, Wis., and two grandchildren, Jacob Ingle of Dillon, Colo., and Katherine Ingle of Neenah, Wis. Preceding her in death was a brother, Wayne Rentz. Services for Naomi Orie Ingle, of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Monday in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Paul Lellelid, interim pastor, officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace" were sung by vocalist Paul Hampton and "Lift High the Cross" and "Abide with Me" by the congregation. Mary Beth Taylor was the organist. Pallbearers were Bill Adams, Harold W. Buske, Tom Jones, Randy Prange, Brent Rutherford and Dick Weiss. Following the services a lunch was provided for family and friends by the women of the church. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Ingle, 72, died Thursday, July 8, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Ippolito, Erica D.

Services for Erica Diane Ippolito, sister of Magan Berns of Nokomis, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in McCracken Funreal Home, Pana. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Miss Ippolito, of Pana, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, in Christian County. She was 25 years old on September 21. She was employed by Hardee's in Pana. Surviving are two children, John Anthony Ippolito and Holly S. Williams, both at home; her mother and step father, Erica Diann and Walter Pall of Pana; seven other sisters, Lisa Bono of Portage, Ind., Tammy Ippolito of Chesteron Ind., Renee Syed, Regina and Angela Ippolito, all of Pana, Chelsa and Charity Ippolito of Lake Station, Ind.; and her fiancee, Robert Nation of Pana.

Isaacs, Elizabeth (Liz)

Graveside service for Elizabeth "Liz" Isaacs, formerly of Gillespie, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville, with the Rev. Dennis Hill officiating. Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie, is in charge of arrangements. Miss Isaacs died March 30, 1998, in her home at the Oaknoll Retirement Residence in Iowa City, Iowa. She was 80 years old on September 25. She was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., a daughter of Alfred and Eslie Isaacs of Gillespie. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, in 1939, earned a master's degree in English literature from Columbia University in 1940, and taught English in Edwardsville for three years before beginning a college teaching career. She first taught at Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Mo., then in 1948, returned to Cornell College and remained a member of the faculty there until her retirement as a full Professor of English in 1983. She earned a doctorate in modern poetry from Washington University, St. Louis, in 1957. She was the author of two literary studies: An Introduction to the Poetry of Robert Frost (1962) and An Introduction to the Poetry of Yvor Winters (1981). A devote traveler who had circumnavigated the globe, Professor Isaacs taught American and English literature during an exchange semester at Bishop Otter College in Chichester, Sussex, England. She wrote several unpublished pieces, including many poems and a volume of anecdotes about her family's farms in Illinois and South Dakota. After her retirement she continued teaching. She organized a poetry circle at the Oaknoll residence, taught poetry at the Iowa City Senior Citizens' Center, and continued contributing to the Elderhostel program at Cornell College. An accomplished musician, she was also a member of the Senior Center chorus. Surviving are a sister, Helen Isaacs Leigh of Davis, Calif.; a niece and two nephews. A memorial scholarship fund has been established in her name at Cornell College. Memorials may be sent to the Isaacs Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Cornell College, Development Office, Mt. Vernon, IA 52314.

Isaacs, Helen S.

Graveside service for Helen S. Isaacs, step mother of Lawrence Isaacs of Staunton, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rochester Cemetery. Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Isaacs died Monday, December 28, 1998, in Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was 83 years old on March 17. She was born in Herrin, a daughter of Robert and Jenny Hillman Wilkie, and married Len Isaacs there in 1934. He died in 1979. Surviving besides the step son are a daughter, Susan Rice of Camp Verde, Ariz; a sister, Betty Christenson of St. Charles, Mo.; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Isaacs, Lawrence G.

Funeral Mass for Lawrence G. Isaacs, of Staunton, will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Michael's Catholic Church there by the Rev. Father George Radosevich. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Livingston. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Lesicko Funeral Home, Livingston. Mr. Isaacs died at 2:45 a.m. Monday, February 1, 1999, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. He was 69 years old on December 3. He was a truck driver for 40 years, last working for Growmark, Inc., at South Roxana. He retired in April 1992. He had resided in Staunton for the past eight years and before that lived in Edwardsville for 38 years. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Teamsters Local 525 of Alton. He was born in West Frankfort, a son of Len O. and Catherine Sarko Isaacs. He married Patricia J. Meyer on July 3, 1979, in South Roxana. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Glen Issacs and wife Kathleen of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; daughter, Kathy Carter and husband Chris of Santa Maria, Calif.; step sons, Tim McBride and wife Tammy, Mike McBride and wife Lois, Bob McBride and wife Sheri, all of Staunton; half sisters, Teresa Quick and husband Larry of Hanover Park, Susan Rice and husband Frank of Camp Verde, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a half sister, Carol Trettenero and a half brother, Jimmy Trettenero.

Jachino, Mina E.

Funeral Mass for Mina E. Jachino, of Nokomis, will be said at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Louis Catholic Church there by the Rev. Father Pat Jakel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Mrs. Jachino died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 1999, in Pana Community Hospital. She was 89 years old on March 31. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, the Altar Society of the church, Quilting Ladies and historian of the Navy Mothers organization. She a 1928 graduate of Decatur High School. She was born in Hammond, Indiana, a daughter of Oscar and Mabel Wildman Wood, and was reared by an uncle and aunt, Carl and Dell Wood. She married Peter Jachino on March 31, 1931, in Decatur. He died April 23, 1975. Surviving are a daughter, Delores Lange of Raymond; son, Robert J. Jachino of Green wich, Conn.; a brother, Burle Wood of Decatur; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Ray, Hubert and Lee Wood and a sister, Neta Challans.

Jackson, Harold R.

Memorial service for Harold R. Jackson, of Litchfield, will be held at 7 tonight in Meinschein Funeral Home with the Rev. Father Ted Schelich, chaplain at St. Francis Hospital officiating. The remains have been donated to science. Mr. Jackson died at 8:16 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 62 years old on February 4. He was an Army veteran having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he lived and worked in Chicago, Leeds, Alabama and Litchfield. He was a member of the VFW of Staunton, Amvets and the Moose Lodge in Litchfield. He was born in Butler Grove Township of Montgomery County, a son of Hubert Clifford and Charlotte Marie Fogle Jackson, and graduated from Litchfield High School. He married Sarah Kendrick on April 16, 1958. She died in May 1987. He married Arrietta May Weaver on December 15, 1995, in Litchfield. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Ivy K. Jackson and Joseph C. Jackson, both of Litchfield; daughters, Annie Jackson and husband Terry of Stockbridge, Ga., Susan S. Williams and husband Jerry of Leeds, Ala.; brothers, Wesley Jackson of Litchfield, William Jackson of Panama, Wayne Jackson of Coffeen; sisters, Betty List and Alice "Peg" Popovich, both of Litchfield; two grandchildren, Kerri Ann Jackson and Robert Lee Jackson of Stockbridge. Preceding him in death were sons, Harold I. and Hubert E. Jackson; brother, Eugene Jackson; and an infant sister, Alberta Jackson. Memorial services for Harold R. Jackson, of Litchfield, was held at 7 p.m. Friday in Meinschein Funeral Home. The Rev. Father Ted Schelich officiated. Irene Graden was organist. Mr. Jackson, 62, died Thursday, November 5, in St. Francis Hospital. His remains were donated to medical science.

Jackson, Mina Jean

Services for Mina Jean Jackson, a retired teacher and wife of David A. Jackson who was the managing editor of the NewsİHerald for many years, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Sandlin, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hillsboro, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Litchfield Carnegie Public Library for large print books or to Illinois College at Jacksonville. Mrs. Jackson, of Litchfield, died at 7:33 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 1998, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was 69 years old on September 3. She taught in the Litchfield school district for many years, including homebound and hospitalİbound students, fourth grade at Madison Park school in 1954 and English at the high school from 1974 until her retirement in December 1989. She helped establish the Veterans of Foreign Wars Voice of Democracy contest at Litchfield High School. She also had been a tutor in the Lincoln Land Community College literacy program and for many years, a story teller to kindergarten classes at Madison Park school. A graduate of South Bend, Indiana, High School, she was salutatorian of her class. She attended Illinois College at Jacksonville, earning a bachelor of science degree in Education and graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors in 1950. Later, in 1974, she attended Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, working towards a master's degree. In 1986, she was awarded the Distinguished Service honor by Illinois College. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Suburbanite unit of the Home Extension Association, Illinois College Alumni Association, and Friends of Litchfield Carnegie Public Library. She also enjoyed playing bridge. She was born in La Crosse, Wis., a daughter of Noble J. and Bessie E. Woyahn Miller. She married David A. Jackson on February 18, 1950, in South Bend. He survives. Surviving also are sons, David Miller Jackson and wife Sharon of Tuscola, Jeffrey Abbot Jackson of Litchfield; daughters, Anne McEwen of Jacksonville, Jennifer Elizabeth Martin and husband Gary of Litchfield; sister, Geraldine Elizabeth Smith and husband Mahlon of Haslett, Mich. Services for Mina Jean Jackson, of Litchfield, were held at 10 a.m. today in Plummer Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Sandlin, pator of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lewis Baney, Mason Bouillon, Howard Jones, Nelson Kessinger, William Matthis, all of Litchfield, Frank Allbright of Pana, Mahlon Cooper Smith IV of Milford, Mich., Don W. Yaeger of St. Louis. Following the graveside committal service a meal was provided for family and friends by the Women of the Moose. Mrs. Jackson, 69, died Saturday, July 11, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Jackson, Norman Paul

Norman Paul Jackson, formerly of Waggoner, died at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 1998, in his home in Daleville, Alabama. He was 69 years old last December 2, and an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was engaged in trucking and farming before he retired. After serving 20 years in the Army, he owned and operated a truck leased to the North American Van Lines exhibit fleet. He had resided in the Daleville area for the past 29 years. He was a member of the Lutheran faith and a lifetime member of VFW Lodge 6020 in Daleville and the Moose Lodge in Ltichfield. He was born in Waggoner and resided in the Litchfield area for 15 to 20 years. He married Geraldine Blankenship here and they were later divorced. A sister, Roberta Mitts of Raymond, survives. Surviving also are his wife, Palma Jean Jackson of Daleville; sons, Donald Jackson of Georgetown, Calif., Gary M. Jackson of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughters, Crystal Conrad, Faye Caldwell and Lisa Chance, all of Daleville; eight step children; 10 grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sunset Memorial Park, Dothan, Alabama, with the Rev. Paul Estes officiating. The family suggests memorials be directed to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Box 2127, Dothan, AL 36302. His first marriage, to Geraldine Blankenship, ended in divorce. His second wife, Palma Joan, survives in Daleville. Others surviving include two sons, three daughters, eight step children, 10 grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren and six great grandchildren, none from the local area. In addition are sisters, Roberta Mitts and husband Howard of Raymond, Dorothy Stickles and husband Kenneth of Payson, Ariz., and a brother, Clinton E. Jackson of Great Falls, Mont. Jacob, Jr., Henry R.

Services for Henry R. Jacob, Jr., of rural Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Meinschein Funeral Home with Rev. Father Larry Auda, pastor of SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Gillespie, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Litchfield. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. The family suggests memorials be directed to SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Masses or the Alzheimer Association. Mr. Jacob died at 3:24 this morning, Friday, February 26, 1999, in Heritage Manor of Carlinville. He was 93 years old on September 21. He was a fermer, member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church until it closed and member of SS. Simon and Jude Church in Gillespie. He enjoyed traveling and loved hunting and fishing. He hunted all over the North American Continent, including five times in Alaska. He also hunted in Newfoundland. He was born in East Peoria, a son of Henry and Rosa Rebholz Jacob. He married Crescentia L. Boehm on June 26, 1929, in Litchfield. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Vernon Jacob of Litchfield; daughters, Velva Homan and husband William of Godfrey, Vida Marit and husband Charles of rural Litchfield, Viva Wolfe and husband Jim of rural Gillespie; a brother, William V. Jacob of Raymond; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Virgil and a daughter, Velma Jacob. Services for Henry R. Jacob, Jr., of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Monday in Meinschein Funeral Home. The Rev. Father Larry Auda officiated. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Musical selections were "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art." Michelle Sweet was the organist. Dorothy Lewey was the vocalist. Pallbearers were Ron Grosenheider, John Frerichs, Howard Hartke, Don Frerichs, Butch Booher, Dale Hammond. Honorary pallbearers were Ben Frerichs, Norman Rull and Maynard Hartke. Mr. Jacob, 93, died Friday, February 26, in Heritage Manor of Carlinville.

Jacob, Ruth Lorraine

Services for Ruth Lorraine Jacob, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Union Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Jay Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Jacob died at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 62 years old on July 22. She was a member of the Union Avenue Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Litchfield. She was also a member of the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary, volunteer for Meals On Wheels, Litchfield Food Pantry and the American Red Cross. She was an avid sports fan. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of Howard and Mary Soboleski Billiter, and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1954.She attended Eureka College for two years. On March 9, 1957, she married Vernon Henry Jacob in the Union Avenue Christian Church. He survives. Surviving also are sons, David Jacob and wife Shari of Springfield, Steven Jacob and wife Diane of Hillsboro; a daughter, Diane Renken and husband John of Springfield; a brother, Tom Billiter and wife Sue of Litchfield; six grandchildren, Ashley, Danielle, David and Noah Jacob, Dylan and Savannah Renken; and three step grandchildren, Alex, Gabrielle and Kelsey Gee. Other survivors include a nephew, Tim Billiter. Services for Ruth Lorraine Jacob, of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Friday in Union Avenue Christian Church. The Rev. Jay Johnson officiated. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Musical selections were "Amazing Grace" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee." Vocalists were Kay and Millie Christman. Linda Maulding was organist and pianist. Rev. Johnson read the eulogy written by Mrs. Jacob's daughter in law, Shari Jacob. Pallbearers were Gary Birkenkamp, Andy Furman, Lynis Niehaus, Denny Stewart, Curtis Cooper and Steve Jachino. Following the services a meal was provided for family and friends by the women of the church. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Jacob, 62, died Tuesday, February 9, in St. Francis Hospital.

Jacobs, Belva D.

Memorial service for Belva D. Jacobs, of Staunton, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Williamson Funeral Home there with the Rev. Matthew Richardson officiating. Interment of the cremains will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. The family will meet friends on Thursday in the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Staunton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Jacobs died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 1999, in Rosewood Care Center, Alton. She was 84 years old on September 10. She worked for the Martha Manning Manufacturing Company in Collinsville, retiring as an instructor in 1975 after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Macoupin County Genealogy Society. She was born in Alhambra, a daughter of George and Johanna Eilers Coalson. She married Lewis "Sally" Jacobs on June 9, 1936. He died August 17, 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Lanida Frizzo and husband Eugene of Alton; sisters, Nigel Ott of Staunton, Marjorie Ulrich of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; brother, Loyal Coalson of New York; and one granddaughter, Lainee Frizzo of Tuscaloosa, Ala. Preceding her in death was a brother, Udell Coalson.

Jacobs, Lewis W.

Memorial service for Lewis W. "Sally" Jacobs, of Staunton, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Williamson Funeral Home there with the Rev. Matthew Richardson officiated. His remains will be cremated and interred at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to Memorial Hospital in Staunton or the Alzheimers Association. Mr. Jacobs died at 12:03 p.m. Monday, August 17, 1998, in St. Clare's Hospital, Alton. He was 86 years old on July 10. He was active in the city of Staunton, serving as city treasurer, alderman in the fourth ward and on the school board. He worked for Hochmuth Oil Company and Service Station in Staunton, retiring as its manager. He was also a member of the Forrest Lake Fishing Club. He was born in Staunton, a son of Edward and Emma Werner Jacobs. He married Belva Coalson on June 9, 1936. Surviving are his wife, Belva of Bethalto; daughter, Linda Frizzo and husband Eugene of Alton; sister, Edna Schutte of Staunton; brother, Vincent Jacobs of Staunton; a granddaughter, Lainee Frizzo of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Preceding him in death were brothers, Robert and Harry Jacobs.

Jahn, Anita L.

Friends of Anita L. Jahn, of Eagarville, may call in Kravanya Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. Her remains will be cremated. Mrs. Jahn died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 1998, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was 42 years old on October 25. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of James A. and Jeanette Gray McKenzie. They survive. Her husband, Mark Jahn died July 6, 1991. Surviving, besides her parents, James and Jeanette McKenzie of Plainview, are daughters, Candy L. Butts of Eagarville, Yvonne D. Jett of Eagarville; brothers, Lewis A. McKenzie of Plainview, James A. McKenzie Jr. of Belton, Texas; grandmother, Adele Gray of Litchfield. Preceding her in death were grandparents, George and Pearl McKenzie and Lewis Gray along with an aunt and an uncle.

Janssen, Paul E.

Funeral arrangements for Paul E. Janssen, of Raymond, are incomplete at Hough Funeral Home. Mr. Janssen, 64, was pronounced dead in his home by Montgomery county coroner shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 5. Services for Paul Eugene Janssen, of Raymond, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Hough Funeral Home there with Maurice Bruce officiating. Friends may call on Sunday in the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Mr. Janssen was found dead in his home and the county coroner pronounced the death at 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 1998. He was 64 years old on May 6, and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired after 28 years of service with PPG at Mt. Zion and was a member of the Morrisonville Knights of Columbus and United Steelworkers of America Local 193 in Mt. Zion. He was born in Rountree township, a son of Dick and Mary Londa Wernsing Janssen. He married Gwendolyn Beatty on January 22, 1956 in Waterloo, Iowa. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Deborah J. Armes and husband Robert of Nokomis, Donna Kay Applegate and husband Terry of Hillsboro; sons, Donald Janssen of Carlinville, Danny Janssen of Tower Hill, Dalbert Janssen of Harvel; sisters, Meta Rose Brookshire of Coalton, Mary Ann Robinett of Raymond, Martha Kay Reed of Nokomis, Margery Al Abondi of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.

Janssen, Ruby Anna

Services for Ruby Anna Lena Janssen, of Nokomis, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church there with the Rev. Bert Eickhoff officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Mrs. Janssen died at 3:12 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 1998, in Golden Manor Nursing Home, Nokomis. She was 87 years old on March 1. She was born in Nokomis, a daughter of Henry and Bertha VerHusen Mindrup. She married Theodore e. Janssen on November 24, 1935, in St. Paul's Church. He died January 22, 1985. Surviving are sons, Gerald Janssen of Cypress, Calif., Loren Janssen of Munfordville, Ky.; daughter, Jolene Garofolo of Perth, West Australia; five greandchildren, five step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Arlene on December 28, 1963; a brother, Lonis Mindrup and a sister, Mildred Mindrup as a child.

Jarman, Daisy

Services for Daisy Jarman, of Mt. Olive, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Becker and Son Funeral Home there with the Rev. Father Larry Anchutz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Mt. Olive Cemetery or the Mt. Olive Ambulance Service. Mrs. Jarman died at 9:31 this morning, Friday, September 11, 1998, in her home. She was 84 years old on December 4. She was a seamstress at Rawlings Sporting Goods Company in St. Louis before she retired. She was born in Cherry, Ill., a daughter of Sylvio and Maria Venturi Gualandi, and attended Schram City schools. She was married three times. Her first husband was William Kaimann. They were married in 1935 in St. Louis and he died in 1941. She then married Voicy Samuel Bush in March 1943 in St. Louis. He died June 23, 1970. Her third husband, Robert Lee Jarman, whom she married in January 1972 in Carlinville, died August 11, 1991. Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Siddens of St. Louis; brothers, Dante and Joe Gualandi of Hillsboro, Louis Gualandi of Taylor Springs; three grandchildren, Richard Turner of Grafton, Bruce Turner of St. Louis, Robert Turner of Key West, Fla.; and five great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Gino, Paul, Calso and Settemo, and a sister, Katie Johnston. Services for Daisy Jarman, of Mt. Olive, were held at 11 this morning in Becker and Son Funeral Home there. The Rev. Father Larry Anschutz officiated. Burial was in Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bruce and Rick Turner, Larry, Gene and Gary Gualandi and Larry Monak. Following the services a lunch was served to family and firends in the Mt. Olive VFW Hall. Mrs. Jarman, 84, died at 9:31 a.m. Friday, September 11, in her home.

Jarman, Lucille B.

Services for Lucille B. Jarman, formerly of Sorento, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Perfetti Funeral Home there with the Revs. Norman Fenton, Elmer Lynn Fenton and R.E. George officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funreal home. Mrs. Fenton died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, August 30, 1999, in Alton Memorial Hospital. She was 84 years old on July 29. She had spent all of life in the Sorento, Staunton and East Alton areas. She was born in Sorento, a daughter of Elbert and Effie Glennn Caulk. She married Orviflle Jarman on January 20, 1934, in Walshville. He survives. Surviving also are sons, Daniel Jarman of Festerburg, Delmar Jarman of Jacksonville; daughters, Delta Sabolo of East Alton, DeMova Cline, Della Jarman both of Springfield; brothers, Lloyd Caulk of New Jersey, Robert Caulk of Sorento; sisters, Evelyn Young of Sorento, Norvella Redell of Erie, Mildred Rameriz of Los Angeles, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Herschel in infancy and sisters, Mildred Jarman and Stella Price .

Jarman, Sylvester N.

Services for Sylvester N. Jarman, of Litchfield, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Meinschein Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Osborn of Living Stones Fellowship officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Jarman died at 11:31 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 79 years old last October 5, an an Army veteran of World War II. He was a life long resident of Litchfield. He worked for American Radiator in Litchfield, Commonwealth at Granite City, did carpentry work for George Longworth in Ltichfield, American Steel Foundry in Granite City and retired from Roller Derby Skate Company in Litchfield. He was born in Litchfield, a son of James J. and Mamie Grant Jarman. He married Wilma M. Hicks on April 24, 1941, in St. Charles, Mo. She died November 7, 1989. Surviving are sons, Tom Hicks of O'Fallon, Sylvester N. Jarman, Jr., of Litchfield, Richard L. Jarman of Litchfield; daughters, Rosemary Martin and husband Darrel, Teresa M. Hemken and husband David, Janet Faye Conner, all of Litchfield, Jolynn F. Hemken and husband Kevin of Walshville; 21 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Others surviving include a special friend, Loretta Cash of Litchfield. Preceding him in death were brothers, Edward, Robert, Charles, James and Avery Jarman and sisters, Irene Estell and Betty Fenton. Services for Sylvester N. Jarman, Sr., of Litchfield, were held at 1 p.m. Friday in Meinschein Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Osborn officiating. Michelle Sweet was the organist. Pallbearers were Stephanie Conner, Bill Robbins, Brian Martin, Scott Martin, Corey Martin, David Jarman, Mark Jarman and Mike Jarman. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Jarman, 79, died Tuesday, September 21, in St. John's Hospital.

Services for June Jascur, of Staunton, were held at 10 this morning in the Zion Lutheran Church there with the Rev. Leslie J. Mitkos officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Zion Stained Glass Window Fund. Mrs. Jascur died at 4:%7 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 1998, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. She was 74 years old on June 21. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton and the Ladies Aid of the Church. She was born in Staunton, a daughter of Samuel and Ida Gruner Hefer. She married John M. Jascur on December 10, 1942, in the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton. He died May 3, 1993. Surviving are sons, Gary Jascur and wife Kathy of Highland, Jerome Jascur and wife Nancy of Staunton; a brother, Melvin Hefer of Staunton; five grandchildren, Tammy, Kimberly, Christopher, Johnny and Michael Jascur and three step grandchildren, Dr. Todd Plocher, David and Shana Plocher. A sister, Cula Mosser, preceded her in death.
