McFarland, Eldon DeWitt
Eldon DeWitt McFarland, step father of Larry Thompson of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, in his home in rural Green ville. He was 66 years old on January 8, and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and as a carpenter, and was a member of Green ville VFW Post 1377. He was born in Mulberry Township of Bond County, a son of Esta and Dessie Walker McFarland. He married Mildred Haller Thompson on December 2, 1957, in Corinth, Miss. She died March 22, 1979. Surviving also are sons, Kevin McFarland of Washington, D.C., Kerry McFarland of Edwardsville, Keith McFarland of Green ville; daughter, Kathy Sharp of Green ville; step daughter, Beverly Brenneman of Springfield; brothers, Dale McFarland of Green ville, Michael McFarland of Irvin, Texas; nine grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Shawn in infancy and a brother, Elmer McFarland. Services were held Saturday in the Liberty Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
McFarlin, Julia L.
Services for Julia L. McFarlin, of Hillsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ware's Grove Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Jaffry officiating. Burial will be in Ware's Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Bass Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Ware's Grove church of which she was a member or because "she loved kids and sports" to the "Back the Track" project of the Hillsboro Sports Boosters or the Hillsboro Sports Complex project of the Hillsboro Sports Association. Mrs. McFarlin, 74 on October 27, died Sunday, August 23, 1998, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. Her death is attributed to brain trauma resulting from a fall while attending the Illinois State Fair on Tuesday, August 18. She taught first grade in the Hillsboro School district for 25 years, teaching at the Butler, Burbank and Beckemeyer schools. She retired in 1989 and in August that year, she was honored by the state board of education with an Award of Recognition for her teaching abilities. She graduated from Blackburn College in 1943 and earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She was also a 4H leader for 36 years and a 50 year member of the Montgomery County Homemakers Association. As a member of Ware's Grove church, she served as an officer of the church council and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was a member also of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary teacher's organization, and a member and officer in the Hillsboro Business and Professional Women's Club, and a member of the Montgomery County Retired Teachers organization. In February 1990, she received the Hillsboro Sertoma Club's Service to Mankind award. She was born in Donnellson, a daughter of Charles and Edna Schluckebier. She married Howard Hodges on November 20, 1943. He died in 1974. She then married Charles "Ted" McFarlin on December 18, 1993. He survives. Surviving also are her children, Sheryl of Clinton, Daryl and wife Kim and Karyl and husband Kent, all of Hillsboro, Feryl and husband Chris of Owaneco; brother, William Schluckebier of Donnellson; step son, Charles McFarlin of Hillsboro; and nine grandchildren, Tish Gerlick and huband Rich, Tyler Lecocq, Zach and Jeremy Frailey, Dana and Cody Hodges, and Charles III "Bo," David and Michael McFarlin.
McFarlin, Nelda Mae
Services for Nelda Mae McFarlin, of Hillsboro, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hough and Sons Funeral Home, Hillsboro. The Rev. Ronald Rhodus and the Rev. Gloria Davis officiated. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be directed to Hillsboro Hospital or the American Cancer Society. Mrs. McFarlin died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 1998, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 70 years old on October 29. She was born in Taylor Springs, a daughter of Frank and Hazel Merel McIlvenna Prickett. She married Lloyd McFarlin on October 13, 1943. He survives. Surviving also are sons, Dr. Roger McFarlin and wife Doris, Alan McFarlin and wife Marilyn, Randy McFarlin and wife Darla and Danny McFarlin, all of Hillsboro; a sister, Millie Laurent of Taylor Springs and four grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a brother, L.J. Prickett in 1990 and a sister, Pat Head in 1981.
McGee, Charles E.
Charles E. McGee, former Macoupin County Superintendent of Schools, died Thursday, September 10, 1988, in Hopedale Nursing Home. He was 93 years old on December 6. Mr. McGee worked in public schools for 45 years. His career began at Girard High School in 1926 where he taught science and coached all sports. In the late 1920s, he was named assistant principal at Jerseyville High School. He returned to Girard High in 1936 and served as principal as well as coach of all athletic teams. He left that position in 1948 to serve as superintendent of the school district. He was appointed county superintendent in 1952, a post he held for three years. From 1955 until he retired he worked as superintendent in the Hopedale school district, business manager in the Olympia school district and interim superintendent in the Delavan school district. He retired finally in 1972. He was also active in community life, including serving as village clerk of Hopedale for several years. He was born in Carrollton, a son of George William and Tennie Champion McGee. He married Mary Hetrick on May 20, 1933, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Patricia Steed and husband James of Schaumburg and a grandchild. Services will be held Saturday morning in Hopedale with burial in Shiloh Cemetery there.

Services for Selma Redella McGinnis, of Raymond, were held at 1:30 this afternoon in the First United Presbyterian Church there. The Rev. Herbert Goeltzer officiated. Burial was in Asbury Cemetery. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be directed to the First United Presbyterian Church of Raymond or the Asbury Cemetery Association. Mrs. McGinnis died at 11:15 a.m. Friday, November 13, 1998, in Hillsboro Hospital. She was 94 years old on August 7. A farmwife and homemaker, she was a 50 year member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Raymond, also a 50 year member and past matron of Rosalind chapter 736 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Raymond Home Arts Club. She was a graduate of Girard High School.Daughter of Edward and Grace Blyler Lively, she marriedH.P. McGinnis on December 25, 1923, in Nilwood. He died December 28, 1992. Surviving are a son, Harry E. McGinnis and wife Ruth of Raymond; two grandchildren, Cathy Elledge and husband Rusty, James McGinnis and wife Linda all of Edgewater, Fla.; seven great grandchildren, Erik and Aaron Ellege, Amy Collins, Andrea Hallas, April McGinnis, Amanda McGinnis and James McGinnis, Jr.; one great great grandson and one step great great granddaughter. Preceding her in death were a brother, Ellsworth Liveley and a granddaughter, Carliene McGinnis.

Olive Schools or the American Diabetes Association. Mr. McKechan died at 1:13 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 1998, in St. Luke's Hospital, Chesterfield, Mo. He was 74 years old on September 6. He was the owner and operator of Jack's Cleaners in Gillespie from 1945 until his death. He was retired from Granite City Steel. He graduated from Gillespie High School in the class of 1943. He was born in Gillespie, a son of Robert and Elizabeth Ballantyne McKechan. His wife, the former Helen Koschak, survives. Surviving also are sons, John A. McKechan of Gillespie, Ronald J. McKechan of Springfield, David B. McKechan of Gillespie; daughters, Marcia Schulte of Mt. Olive, Patricia A. McKechan of Gillespie; and three grandchildren, Jarid, Adam and Nicholas Schulte of Mt. Olive. Preceding him in death were a daughter, Elizabeth McKechan in infancy; brothers, Robert, James and Campbell McKechan; sisters, Martha McLaren, Ann McFarlin and Betty Revel.

Services for Sara Florence McKinney, of Fillmore, were held this morning in the Fillmore Baptist Church. The Rev. Joe Lawson officiated. Burial was in Glendale Cemetery. Mrs. McKinney died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, May 21, 1999, in her home. She was 60 years old on December 6. She was born in Cumberland, Ky., a daughter of James and Ethel McKnight Gilley. She married Roy McKinney on April 22, 1958, in Harland, Ky. He survives. Surviving also are a son, the Rev. Michael McKinney and wife Lillian of Fillmore; daughters, Sandra Shields of Fletcher, Okla., E. Clarissa Dolan and Delilah Pfeifer, all of Chicago; several brothers and sisters; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Miller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
McKenzie, John H.
Services for John Henry McKenzie, formerly of Hillsboro, were held today in the Covina First Presbyterian Church, Covina, Calif., and will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Presbyterian Church of Hillsboro with the Rev. Matthew Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday in the church after 9:30 a.m. Mr. McKenzie, of West Covina, Calif., died at 11 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 1999, in Citrus Valley Hospice Center there. He was 79 years old on March 9, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He worked in Hillsboro for about 10 years in the operation of the Latham and McKenzie stores. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce, serving as president, the Kiwanis Club, the Presbyterian Church and other organizations. He left Hillsboro in 1958 to live in California. There he worked for Plaza Plastics and retired in 1990. An avid tennis player, he participated in many amateur - pro tournaments. He attended the University of Missouri in Columbia following his graduation from the Thayer, Mo., high school. He entered the Navy in 1942 and served on destroyers in the South Pacific. After his discharge, he enrolled in the University of Michigan, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. He was born in Thayer, Mo., a son of Alexander and Nora McKenzie. He married Caroline Latham of Hillsboro in 1943, in the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Mary Margaret Thomas of West Covina; brother, Leon McKenzie and wife Pat of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; sister, Joyce Flynn and husband Maury of Alexandria, Va.; and grandchildren, John David, Alexandra and Victoria Thomas. Others surviving include in-laws, Claude and Margie Grotts of Hillsboro. Preceding him in death were two half-brothers, George and Alvin Kline.

Mr. McKenzie, of Taylorville, died at 4:42 a.m. Saturday, May 1, in the home of a niece. He was 94 years old on June 12. He was a farmer, a carpenter for the Raymond Lumber Yard for many years, and an avid horseman. He was a member of the Raymond United Methodist Church. He was born in Tovey, a son of Robert and Nellie Payne McKenzie. Surviving are a brother, Earl Jim McKenzie of Altamont Springs, Fla., and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were five brothers, a sister and a companion, Freda Vincent.

Services for Burlin H. McKinnon, of Staunton, were held at 1 this afternoon in Williamson Funeral Home there. The Rev. Paul Burden officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Staunton Memorial Hospital Meals on Wheels program. Mr. McKinnon died at 3:40 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 1999, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. He was 74 years old on May 13. He was a crane operator and fireman with the National Steel Company in Granite City before he retired in 1987. He had resided in Staunton for 30 years and before that he lived in Collinsville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rosewood Heights. He was born in Dixon, Mo., a son of Clyde and Nora Pattie McKinnon. His wife, the former Beulah Halbrook, whom he married in Collinsville, died September 26, 1994. Surviving are a son, Jim McKinnon and wife Lynn of Columbia, Mo.; step son, Tom Halbrook and wife Judy of California; sister, Betty Doyle and husband Junior of Dixon, Mo.; two step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Among others surviving is a sister in law, Louise McKinnon of Granite City. Preceding him in death were three brothers and one sister.

Services for Edgar McLean, formerly of Taylor Springs, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Ellinger - Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, Springfield. The remains will be cremated. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. McLean died Monday, November 15, 1999, in his home in Springfield. He was 68 years old on April 26. He was employed as a custodian in the Pleasant Plains School District before his retirement. He was a member of the West Side Christian Church - TNT class. He was born in Taylor Springs, a son of Richard and Martha Elizabeth Lodge McLean. His wife, the former Edna Pauline Bricker whom he married in 1951 in Alton, survives. Surviving also are sons, Richard McLean of Athens, Russell McLean of Virginia; daughter, Linda Grant of Springfield; brothers, George McLean of Springfield, Robert McLean of Monroe, Wash.; sisters, Pearl Martin of Alton, Minnie Stoner of Washington; 10 grandchildren.

Mrs. McManus, a resident of the Carbondale Nursing and Rehab Center, died at 8:30 p.m. Friday, October 15, 1999, on her 93rd birthday. She was a member of the First United Baptist Church of Staunton. She was born in Sanburn, a daughter of John Logan and Grace A. Boyd Pea. She married Julius McManus on May 18, 1925, in Edwardsville; he died in February 1964. She was the last of her family, having been preceded in death by a brother, Carl Pease and a sister, Edna Tucker. Surviving are a nephew and a niece, Eugene Pease of Carbondale and Dorris Christopher of Marion.

Doris McMillan, formerly of Hillsboro, died Sunday, September 19, 1999, in Tennessee. She resided in San Benito, Texas, and was 90 years old on August 9. She retired in 1968 from the Cranbrook Institute of Science in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., where she worked in the planetarium. She was born in Hillsboro, a daugher of Willet M. and Addie Balckburn Nichols. Her hsuband, John D. McMillan, preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter, Ann Drothler and husband Paul of Sevierville, Tenn.; son, Dan W. McMillan of Alden, Mich.; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Robert J. McMillan and a brother, Don B. Nichols.

Services for Virginia McMullen, of Hillsboro, were held this morning in Patton Memorial Home there with the Rev. Randy Sands, pastor of the Free Methodist Church of Hillsboro officiating. Burial was in Wares Grove Cemetery, Butler. Mrs. McMullen died at 3:23 p.m. Friday, September 17, 1999, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was 82 years old on August 22. She had made her home in many places, including Litchfield, Decatur, Springfield and Raymond in Illinois. She resided in Pontiac, Michigan, from 1942 until 1991, when she moved to Hillsboro. For many years she worked as a clerk for the Salvation Army in Pontiac. A daughter of Louis E. and Edna A. Pierce Elliott, she married Wilford McMullen on September 267, 1942, in Pontiac, Mich. He died in 1970. Surviving are brothers, Gaylord Elliott of Aurora, Oregon, Richard Elliott of Wood River, and a sister, Doris Fenton of Hillsboro. Preceding her in death were brothers, Walter and Frank Elliott.

Marsha Gifford McPeek died at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 1999, in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. She was 55 years old on April 20. She was owner and operator of Insurance Ease in Taylorville. She was born in Hillsboro, a daughter of Charles s. and Beatrice McClintlock Gifford. Surviving are four children, Byron Bess, Mike McPeek, Misty McPeek and Tiffany McPeek, and her mother, Beatrice Gifford, all of Taylorville. Her father, Charles Gifford, preceded her in death. Cremation rites were accorded by Sutton Memorial Home of Taylorville. There will be no services.

Mrs. McRevey, of Carlinville, died at 12:24 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 1998, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 72 years old on February 15. A registered nurse, she had worked at hospitals and nursing homes in the area before she retired. She was born in Gillespie Township, a daughter of Samuel and Lula Marie Ruyle Walker. Her husband, Wilfred McRevey, survives. Surviving also are a son, Darrell McRevey of Carlinville and a brother, Charles William "Bill" Walker of Gillespie. Preceding her in death were a son in infancy; brothers, Vernon, Robert, Thomas and Harold Walker; and sisters, Betty Boree and Mary Agans.

Mr. McRevey died at 12:03 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 1999, in Carlinville Hospital. He was 75 years old on August 27. He was a farmer before he retired. He was born in Carlinville, a son of Frank and Ethel Bounds McRevey. His wife, the former Frances M. Walker, died October 23, 1998. Surviving are a son, Darrell McRevey and a sister, Geraldine Walker, both of Carlinville. A son, Larry E. McRevey, preceded him in death.

Graveside services for Cecil H. McVey, of Carlinville, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Oak Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. Friends may call Saturday in the Stults-Neece Funeral Home, Palmyra, from noon to 1:45 p.m. The family suggests memorials be directed to Paralyzed Veterans of America. Mr. McVey died Wednesday morning, October 27, 1999, in Carlinville Area Hospital. He was 87 years old last November 20. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the European - African - Middle Eastern Theatre and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was formerly elementary guidance counselor in the Gillespie and Benld schools. Previous employment was as coach at the Bluffs and Virginia High Schools, coach, teacher and principal at Palmyra High School, and principal at Northwestern High School. He was a graduate of Carthage College, and a member of Palmyra Christian Church. He was born in Mt. Pulaski, a son of Allen and Emma Bertrang McVey. He married Martha Schwab in 1940 in the Winchester Christian Church; she died in 1962. He married Sybil Huff in 1963; she survives. Surviving also are a son, John McVey of Tracy, Calif.; daughter, Mary Willey and husband Jay of Gridley; stepsons, Stephen Huff and wife Mary Lou of Roseville, Calif., Gary Huff of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Orville McVey and wife Jeannette of Mt. Pulaski; sister, Bertha Pope of Springfield; and six grandchildren. Preceding him in death were four brothers and three sisters.

Jennie M. McWard, of Morrisonville, died Friday, November 6, 1998, in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. She operated a farm before she retired. She was born in Locust Township, a daughter of Eldon and Minnie Robertson Leach. She married Everett McWard in 1935 in Morrisonville. He died in 1964. Surviving is a sister, Mildred Leach of Pana. Services were held Monday in Taylorville. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery there.
McWilliams, J. Bert
Funeral arrangements for J. Bert McWilliams, of Litchfield, are pending at Plummer Funeral Home. Mr. McWilliams, 84, died at 8:45 this morning, Tuesday, December 15, in St. Francis Hospital. Memorial service for Joseph Bertram McWilliams, of Litchfield, former legal counsel for the city, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the First Presbyterian Church of Litchfield with the Rev. Richard Olson officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday in the church fellowship hall from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. McWilliams died at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 84 years old on March 26. An attorney with 57 years of experience, from 1941 to 1998, he was a partner with his brother, the late Paul McWilliams, in the law firm of McWilliams and McWilliams. He graduated from the Northwestern Law School in 1940. He did his undergraduate work at both Northwestern University and the University of Illinois, graduating from the latter in 1937. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Litchfield Country Club, Litchfield Lodge 236 of AF&AM, and the Montgomery County Bar Association. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, a son of Judge Paul and Lillian Butler McWilliams. He married Jane White on July 5, 1941, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hillsboro, with the Rev. Ezra Keller presiding. Surviving besides his wife are five daughters, Sarajane Campbell and husband Paul B. "Scott" of Clayton, Mo.; Suzanne Scharf and husband Ron of St. Louis; Marcy Frerichs and husband Ralph of Los Angeles, Calif., Tricie Buske of Edwardsville, Julie Zaideman and husband Robert of Wilmette; 12 grandchildren, Jeff Campbell, Christine Frerichs, both of Tuscon, Ariz, Sally Lagomarsino of Oakland, Calif., Peter Frerichs of Los Angeles, Calif., Lisa Cox of Edwardsville, Kate Lay, Jill Roberts, both of Denver, Colo., Emily Zaideman, Doug Zaideman, both of Wilmette, Andy Scharf of Litchfield, Tim Scharf of St. Louis, Matt Buske of Webster Groves; and four great grandchildren. Memorial service for Joseph Bertram McWilliams, of Litchfield, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Richard Olson officiated. Musical selections were "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" sung by Mrs. Judy Olson. Congregational hymns were "For the Beauty of the Earth" and "Oh, Come All Ye Faithful." Organist was Mrs. Linda Maulding. A quartet of Roger Maulding, Don Williams, Jim Lutz and Frank Mattioda played various jazz pieces during the seating of the guests and for the recessional. Family members and friends spoke of how Mr. McWilliams touched their lives. The flag was presented to Mrs. Jane McWilliams by Will Tackaberry, commander of American Legion Post 436. Inurnment of the cremains was in Elmwood Cemetery. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. McWilliams, 84, died Tuesday, December 15, in St. Francis Hospital.

Mrs. Mehlberg died at 7:04 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 96 years on July 14. She was a farmwife until she and her husband moved to town in 1948. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Litchfield Senior Citizens. She was born on the family farm in South Litchfield Township, a daughter of John and Wilhelmina Blanke Klein. She married August John "Auggie" Mehlberg on July 23, 1921. He died October 16, 1989. The last of her family, she is survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were three infant sons and three infant daughters, all at birth; brothers, Theodore, Roy, Elmer and Jesse Klein and a sister, Ora Rentz. Services for Flora M. Mehlberg, of Litchfield, were held at noon Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Alvin Horst of St. Louis and Rev. Paul Lellelid, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Litchfield, officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. During the service the song "In the Garden" was played and a poem entitled "Going Home" was read by Jane Fielden. Pallbearers were Bob Dressen of Litchfield, Jan Fielden of Bath, JoAnn Harris of Mabelvale, Ark., Sam Simmons of Litchfield, Kenneth Smith of St. Louis, John "Jack" Thomas of Springfield and Martha Weise of Little Rock, Ark. Following the services a luncheon was provided for the family and friends by the women of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Mehlberg, 96, died Saturday, May 22, in St. Francis Hospital.
Meicenheimer, Margureta
Services for Margureta Meicenheimer, of Litchfield, were held at 10:30 this morning in the Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Donald Langhoff officiated. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Marilyn Niehaus was the organist. She accompanied the congregation as they sang "The Lord's My Shepherd I'll Not Want" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." Pallbearers were Charles Bierbaum, Duane Gerdes, Gary Gerdes, Ed Helgen, Raymond Johnson and Ed Koretge. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Meicenheimer died at 2 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 1999, in Litchfield Health Care Center. She would have been 90 years old on August 15. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She was born in Mt. Olive, a daughter of Fred and Richa Flitz Gerdes. She married Emmit Woodrow Meicenheimer on October 4, 1930, in the Zion Lutheran parsonage in Litchfield. He died in 1978. Surviving are a daughter, Ronda Bierbaum and husband Leon of New River, Ariz.; brothers, Norman Gerdes and wife Kathlyn of Carlinville, Cliff Gerdes and wife Mary, Fred Gerdes and wife Jerri, all of Litchfield; sisters, Helen Kelley of Mt. Olive, Violet May Galloway of Fremont, Neb.; five grandchildren, Mona McLaughlin of South Fort Myers, Fla., Kim White of Edwardsville, Gloria Tiemann of Peoria, Ariz., Maj. William Bierbaum who is with the Air Force stationed in Omaha, Neb., Lawana Bierbaum of New River, Ariz.; and eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Everette Meicenheimer; brothers, Adolph, Arthur, Marvin and Luke Gerdes; and a sister, Verna Meicenheimer. The family suggests memorials be directed to Zion Lutheran Church of Litchfield.
Meier, Marion D.
Services for Marion D. Meier, of Nokomis, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church there with the Rev. James Norton officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Mr. Meier died at noon Thursday, April 8, 1999, in his home. He was 76 years old on February 19. He was a truck driver before he retired, and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was born in Rockdale, Kansas, a son of Walter and Ida DeWerff Meier. He married Grace Garwood in 1957 in Witt. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Walter Meier of Tipton, Ind., Jeff Meier of Witt and a daughter, Sharon. Preceding him in death was a sister, Addis Croon.
Meier, Otto C.
Services for Otto C. Meier, father of Earl Meier, assistant superintendent of the Hillsboro School District, will be held Friday in Hoffman. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Hillsboro Sports Complex. Mr. Meier died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, in St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia. He was 95 years old on June 26. He was born in Clinton County, a son of William and Mary Beckmann Meier. His first wife, the former Myrtle Thouvenin died December 30, 1977. His second wife, the former Marie Berning, survives. Surviving also are five other sons, Charles, Edward and David, all of Hoffman, Ralph and Clarence of Centralia; a daughter, Ruth Meier of Hoffman; three step children; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchidlren and several great great grandchildren.

Services for Theodore Martin Meier, Jr., formerly of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Plummer Funeral Home with the Rev. The family suggests memorials to Union Avenue Christian Church. Mr. Meier, of Hendersonville, Tenn., died at 9:15 p.m. Monday, October 18, 1999, in Nashville Memorial Hospital, Madison, Tenn. He was 70 years old on February 26. An Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, he held the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was self-employed as a painter in Litchfield for many years and also worked for his father for several years. He was a member of the Union Avenue Christian Church, and a 1947 graduate of Litchfield High School. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Theodore Martin and Evelyn C. Gollehur Meier. He married Barbara Maxine Oller on July 14, 1962, in Litchfield. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Delores Heisman and husband Larry of Vancouver, Wash., Brenda K. Meier of Hendersonville; brother, H. Dean Meier and wife Rose of Litchfield; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Meier, 70, died Monday, October 18, in Nashville Memorial Hospital, Madison, Tenn.
Meislahn, Christian D.
Christian Daniel Meislahn, formerly of Litchfield, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, in Sun City, Arizona. He was 87 years old. He was born in Montrose, Ill., and was employed as an accountant for Milnot Company here. In 1972, he moved to Arizona. He was a member of the Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Rotary Club of Sun City Lakeview and the Sun City Illini Club. Surviving is a sister in law, Kathryn Armstrong of Sun City. Services were held in the Fountain of Life church in Sun City.
Melm, Delmar
Services for Delmar Melm, of Staunton, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Williamson Funeral Home there with the Rev. Leslie J. Mitkos officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Staunton Athletic Booser Club or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Melm died at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 1999, in Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 53 years old on February 12. He was a gas regulator with Illinois Power Company for more than 25 years, and was previously employed as a union laborer. He was Past Master of the Staunton Masonic Lodge, former member of the Staunton school board, past president of the Staunton Soccer Association, past president of the Staunton Little League, and current manager of the American Legion team in Stuanton. He was a member of the Worden American Legion. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Frank and Lorraine Ulrich Ramach. He married Susan Drevenak on March 13, 1971, in Staunton. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Melanie Wineburner and husband Patrick of Edwardsville; son, Lucas Melm of Staunton; mother and step father, Lorraine and Frank Ramach of Staunton; brother, Gary Melm of Oregon.
