Miller, Lorayne F.

Funeral Mass for Lorayne Florence Miller, of Litchfield, will be said at 12 noon Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Ted Schelich, chaplin at St. Francis Hospital and the Rev. Father David Schmidt, pastor of the church. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Montgomery County West Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Meinschein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Miller died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, November 21, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 76 years old on June 14. She was bookkeeper for Zimmermann Equipment Company in Litchfield for many years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Holy Family Church, St. Anne's Society of the church and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was born and reared in Chicago, a daughter of Albert and Florence Finucan Pepin. She later resided in Herrin before moving to Litchfield. She married Paul D. Miller on February 24, 1944, in Charleston, S.C. He died August 1, 1990. Surviving are sons, Jimmie Lee Miller and wife Sally of Springfield, Kevin Paul Miller of Decatur; daughter, Darcy Lynne Weinstein and husband Mark of Chesterfield, Mo.; sister, Shirley Kozak of Bartlett; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a sister, Lavern Pepin. Funeral Mass for Lorayne Florence Miller, of Litchfield, was said at noon Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, concelebrated by the Rev. Fathers Ted Schelich and David Schmidt. Placing the pall were Mrs. Miller's children, Darcy Weinstein, James Miller and Kevin Miller. Taking part in the liturgy were Sr. Rosella Uding, reader; Betty Heyen and Juanita Bitter, gift bearers; minister of Eucharist, Emma Lou Feller and Rosemary Mattli. Organist was Kathy Skinner with Polly Wand as cantor. Musical selections were "Amazing Grace," "The Lord Is My Light," "Shepherd Me, O God" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were John Ficetti, Mark Weinstein, Dale Blevins, Mike Carney, Gary Rogers and Tim Kozak. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Miller, 76, died Sunday, November 21, in St. Francis Hospital.

Miller, Sr. M. Agnesine

Eucharistic celebration and rite of Christian burial for Sister M. Agnesine Miller, OSF, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel at the Motherhouse with the Rev. Father Terrence Tracey officiating. Burial will be in Crucifixion Hill Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge of arrangements. Sister Agnesine died at 10:25 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 1999, in St. Francis Convent. She was 92 years old on March 13. She was born in Ramsey as Margaret Mathilda, daughter of John Thomas and Anna Thull Miller. She entered the congregation of the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis on September 8, 1938 and professed religious vows on June 13, 1941. She was a 1929 graduate of Huber Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Pana and served as a registered nurse in hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin as well as St. Ann's Home for Unwed Mothers in Shreveport, La., and St. Monica's Home in Springfield. She retired from active duty in 1990 because of failing health. Surviving are a brother, Michael Miller of Ramsey; sisters, Kathryn Murray of Hillsboro and Johanna Kern of Pana. Preceding her in death were a sister, Mary E. Durbin; brothers, Joseph, John and Thomas James Miller.

Miller, Maynard L.

Graveside service for Maynard L. Miller, of Hillsboro, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Donnellson Cemetery with the Rev. Ernest Flowers officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Hough and Sons Funeral Home, Hillsboro. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Donnellson Cemetery. Mr. Miller died Friday, August 13, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. He was 76 years old on November 26, and an Army veteran of World War II. During the war he earned the rank of sergeant major and was a member of Pattons Third Army. He served in England, France and Germany. He was a farmer all of his life. He also worked for the Pinkerton Security at CIPS, Coffeen, as well as for both Bullards and Voyals Brothers Implement companies. He was a member of the Waveland Presbyterian Church and a past member of the Montgomery County 4-H and the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. He was born in Donnellson, a son of William O. and Maude L. Bailey Miller, and attended the Cherry Grove country school, Panama High School and then the Hillsboro High School, graduating in the class of 1941. He married Virginia Kessinger on January 20, 1962, in Fillmore. She survives. Surviving also are three children, Donna Abbott of Hillsboro, William Miller of Hillsboro, Audra Andries and husband Gene of Fillmore, and five grandchildren. Preceding him in death were brothers, Paul in infancy and Oscar Miller in 1977.

Miller, Pauline I.

Pauline Iris Miller, sister of Carol Jean Walz of Litchfield, died Monday, March 29, 1999, in Carle Hospital, Urbana. She was 65 years old on September 19. She was employed by the Macon County Health Department in the WIC program for 17 years before retiring in 1996. She also served on the selection committee for Habitat for Humanity and for 12 years as a missionary to Paraguay for the United Christian Missionary Society of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She was born in Macoupin County, a daughter of Russell Otto and Dessa Mae Wright Varner. She married Roy Miller in 1953 in Barnett. He survives. Surviving also are sons, Glen Miller of North Hollywood, Calif., Steven Miller of Hayward, Calif., Jimmy Miller of Champaign; daughter, Geneva Bernt of Lakewood, Colo; and four grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Central Christian Church, Decatur. Private burial service will be held in Cedar Ridge Cemetery near Litchfield. Graceland - Fairlawn Funeral Home, Decatur, is in charge of arrangements.

Miller, Russell W.

Services for Russell W. Miller, of Hillsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Patton Memorial Home with Rev. David Johnson of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, Litchfield, officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Sorento, with military rites by members of VFW Post 3912, Litchfield. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Mr. Miller died at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 1998, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 66 years old on October 18, and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He spent most of his life in Panama, Litchfield and the Hillsboro areas. He was a painter foreman for Illinois Central Railroad for approximately 30 years before he retired in 1983. He was a member of VFW Post 3912. He was born in Panama, a son of George and Mary Vogel Miller. He married Wanda Marie Rider on January 23, 1954, in Walshville. She died December 4, 1987. Surviving are sons, Orville Miller and wife Julie of Fillmore, Orzo Miller of Hillsboro; daughters, Donna McNew of Glen Carbon, Shirley Lyons and husband Mark of Hillsboro, Ethel Miller of Jacksonville, Laurie Osborn of Litchfield, Christina Taylor and husband Vernon of Mt. Olive, Debra Alender of Tennessee; brothers, Marion "Babe" Miller of Sawyerville, George Miller of Rushville; 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Others surviving include a companion, Clara Cravens of Litchfield. Preceding him in death were a son, Brian Keith Miller on January 2, 1992; step father, Raldo Stierwalt; brothers, John and Charles Miller; granddaughter, Annette Lyons and a great grandson, Ethan Skelton.

Miller, Thomas Lee

Services for Thomas Lee Miller, former Country Mutual Insurance agent in Carlinville, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Ellinger Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, Springfield, with the Rev. Charlie Richison officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. today. Mr. Miller died Saturday, June 20, 1998, in his home in Springfield. He was 64 years old on December 7, and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Country Mutual Insurance Company for 35 years before he retired in 1997. He served 31 years in the Carlinville office and four years in Bloomington. While with Country Mutual, he served as the property manager and national manager of the special investigation unit. He worked earlier for Standard Oil and the Illinois Secretary of State. He was a member of Elks Lodge 1412 in Carlinville, attended the San Francisco School of Law and held certifications as a commercial pilot, flight instructor and advanced ground school. He was a member of the Insurance Institute of America © AIC. He was born in Springfield, a son of George and Lillian Marie Taylor Miller. Surviving are a daughter, Marella Vlasich of Canton, a granddaughter and a great grandson. Among other survivors is a companion, Norma O'Connell of Springfield.

Millick, Michael

Private graveside services for Michael Millick, of Litchfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Father Ted Schelich officiating. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Montgomery West Chapter of the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association. Plummer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Millick died at 7:47 a.m. Sunday, February 21, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 86 years old on September 12. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Litchfield for many years. Before that he worked as a salesman for Bishop Tobacco in Mt. Olive. He was also employed by his father in law at William Cassen's Photography Studio in Litchfield. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1634 of Litchfield. He was born in Mt. Olive, a son of Gabriel and Mary Piluga Millick. He married Carmen Jane Cassens on November 18, 1939, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Scott C. Millick and wife Kathryn of Hillsboro and a brother, Peter Millick of Mt. Olive. Preceding him in death were brothers, Daniel and Paul Millick and sisters, Anna Millick and Mary Rogers. Private graveside services for Michael Millick, of Litchfield, were held at 10 a.m. today in Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev. Father Ted Schelich, chaplain at St. Francis Hospital, officiated. William Bates of American Legion Post 436 presented the flag to Mrs. Carmen Millick. Pallbearers were Lester Lowe, Joe Zalar, Hal Simpson, Bill Timmermann, Dean Bishop and Jim Titsworth, all of Litchfield. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Millick, 86, died Sunday, February 21, in St. Francis Hospital.

Mills, Lester C.

Services for Lester C. Mills, of Hillsboro, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Patton Memorial Home with the Rev. Dan Roges and the Rev. Dr. Ronald Rhodus, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in rural Mulberry Grove. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the world hunger campaign at Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Mills died at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at the home of his son in Petal, Mississippi. He worked for American Zinc and Asarco in Taylor Springs for 40 years, and he also farmed south of Litchfield from 1956 to 1969. He spent most of his life in the Hillsboro area. He was born in Bond County, a son of William and Addie Russell Mills. He married Mildred M. Davis on February 25, 1940, in Green ville. She preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, Larry C. Mills of Petal, Miss.; daughter, Joyce M. Rogers and husband the Rev. Dan Rogers of Springdale, Ark.; a sister, Opal Edwards of South Bend, Ind. Preceding him death were brothers, Lesley Mills in infancy, William and George Mills and sisters, Wavie Mills, Mabel Mayfield, Elsie Overby and Marie Hatfield.

Minnis, Lavora E.

Funeral Mass for Lavora Earl "Flint" Minnis, of Morrisonville, will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Maurice Catholic Church there by the Rev. Father John T. Hannigan. Burial will be in St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hough Colonial Home, Morrisonville. The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Maurice School or to Masses. Mr. Minnis died at 2:47 a.m. Sunday, December 26, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. He was 86 years old on June 29. He was an interior decorator for many years and was employed at Borg-Warner, Decatur, for 25 years. He was a member of St. Maurice Church. He was born in Harvel, a son of Earl and Sylvia Conlon Minnis. He married Catherine McQuade on September 2, 1939, in St. Rita's Church, Kincaid. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Mark and wife Yola, Kurt and wife Rhonda, Brian, Raymond, all of Morrisonville, and Philip and wife Linda of Marion; a daughter, Maureen Dowdy and husband Dennis of Morrisonville; a brother, Donald Minnis of Morrisonville; sisters, Temple Stieren of Farmersville, Marcella McBride of Joplin, Mo., Ruth Wallace of Stanford; eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Preceding him in death were brothers, Merle and Delmar Minnis and a sister, Melba Storer.

Mitchell, Floyd S.

Services for Floyd Stanley Mitchell, of Litchfield, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Allen of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Ridge Cemetery at Honey Bend. Friends may call Tuesday in the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church of Litchfield. Mr. Mitchell died at 9 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 1999, in Heritage Manor of Litchfield. He was 95 years old on February 28. He was employed by the American Radiator plant in Litchfield for several years. He also lived in Springfield and worked for the State of Illinois. He was a machinist, painter and contractor. He was born in Honey Point Township of Macoupin County, near Hornsby, a son of Jesse Clement and Rosa Etta Perrine Mitchell. He married Fannie Lorinia Bandy on June 11, 1927, in Granite City. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Frieda Trader and husband Rex, Sr., of Litchfield; six grandchildren, Susan Acree of Ft. Worth, Texas, Christine Beecher of Staunton, Rex Trader, Jr., and wife Donna of Hillsboro, Tina Trader of Hillsboro, Rosemary Trader of Litchfield, Shirley Hamby and husband Michael of Litchfield; 14 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were brothers, Marvel Mitchell, James and Scovil Loveless; sisters, Ina Calcott, Nina Sellers, Nova Crawford, Lina Spencer Fuller; and a great grandson, George Short. Services for Floyd Stanley Mitchell, of Litchfield, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Allen officiated. During the service the vocalist, Shirley Edwards, sang "In the Garden," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "When They Ring the Golden Bells." Michell Sweet was the organist. Pallbearers were Rexdon Boliard, Mike Hamby, Tom Roach, ERic Trader, Rex Trader Jr. and Steve Woods. Burial was in Cedar Ridge Cemetery. Follwoing the committal service a lunch was provided for family and friends at the First Baptist Church. Mr. Mitchell, 95, died Saturday, September 25, in Heritage Manor.

Margaret L. (Peggy) Mitchell died Thursday, August 13, 1998, in her home in San Antonio, Texas. born in Swan Creek, Ill., she was 76 years old on February 2. Her husband, Lloyd L. Mitchell and four brothers preceded her in death. Surviving are daughters, Sharon Gillette of San Antonio, Texas, Judy Plasters of Litchfield; a step son, James Mitchell of Galesburg; sisters, Catherine Johnston of San Diego, Calif., Marie Brewer of Loveland, Colo., Nancy Larson of Galesburg, Helen Betz of Rockford; brothers, Austin O'Malley Jr. of Galesburg, Phillip O'Malley of San Bernadino, Calif., Michael O'Malley of Lincoln; nine grandchildren, Tommy Plasters of The Colony, Texas, Shirley Plasters, Stacy Davis, Veronica Plasters, Ronnie Plasters Jr., all of Litchfield; Erick Gillette of Lovelady, Texas, Tina Mitchell of Galesburgh, Rhonda Mitchell of Ft. Lauderdale, Linda Mitchell of Tulsa, Okla.; 10 great grandchildren. Memorial ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Galesburg.

Services for Mary Katherine Mitchell, of Gillespie, were held at 2:30 p.m. today in Kravanya Funeral Home there. Burial was in Gillespie City Cemetery. Mrs. Mitchell died at 4:49 a.m. Friday, December 3, 1999, in Carlinville Hospital. She was 81 years old on June 22. She was born in Hillsboro, a son of Lloyd and Cora Kircher Downs. She married O. Wendell Mitchell on March 16, 1959, in Mississippi. He died February 20, 1982. Surviving is a sister, Marjorie Downs of Gillespie.

Services for Robert H. Mitchell, formerly of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Meinschein Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Warren, of the Westfair Baptist Church in Jacksonville, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Mitchell, of Jacksonville, died at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 1998, in the Jacksonville Convalescent Center. He was 74 years old on September 9. He farmed for many years in the Carlinville area, and retired in 1989 from Western Illinois Power Company in Jacksonville. He was a graduate of Carlinville High School. He was born in Honey Point Township, a son of Steve O. and Violet June Clayton Mitchell. He married Delores E. Schreiter on June 17, 1945, in Carlinville. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Alan Mitchell of Columbia, S.C.; daughters, Janet Kessinger and husband James of Carlinville, Joanne Krueger and husband Dennis of Hillsboro, Peggy Wade and husband David of Bloomington; brother, Maurice R. Mitchell of Arlington, Texas; sister, Dorothy Schmidt and husband Hans of Litchfield; four grandchildren, Jodee Pfaff of Arvada, Colo., Jason Kessinger of St. Louis, Melissa Krueger of Springfield, Kelly Krueger of Macomb. Mix, Robert Bruce

Private services for Robert Bruce Mix, of Onalaska, Texas, will be held Sunday at his home. The family suggests memorials be directed to cancer research. Mr. Mix died Wednesday, January 13, 1999, in Memorial Medical Center at Lufkin, Texas, after battling cancer. He was 71 years old on April 4. Prior to his retirement he was in sales for 40 years working in Houston, Texas, Ohio, Kansas and Colorado. In earlier years he taught school in Raymond, after serving two years in the Navy and ROTC and graduating from Washington University, St. Louis. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Martin R. and Arla Butler Mix. His first marriage, to Doris Darlene Wright, took place June 30, 1951. They had three children and were later divorced. He married a second time, to C. Anne Schmidt on September 18, 1981. Surviving besides his wife, Anne, are daughters, Kathy Wilson and husband Larry of Middletown, Ohio, Cindy Zoeller of Livingston, Texas; a sister, Deborah Anderson of Litchfield; brothers, Stephen and Timothy Mix of Litchfield; and nine grandchildren, Jennifer and Casey Wilson, Bill, Amy and Christopher Zoeller, Dominique, Bethany, Brian and Leah Mix of Ohio. Others surviving include his step mother, Josephine Mix of Litchfield.

Mizerny, Blanche B.

Service for Blanche Biernath Mizerny, of Staunton, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at graveside in Memorial Park Cemetery there. The Rev. Michael Kloeping will officiate. Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton, is in charge of arrangements. No visitation is planned. Mrs. Mizerny died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 1999, in Hampton Nursing Care, Alhambra. She was 88 years old on July 10. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton. She was born in Collinsville. She married Fred Biernath on May 2, 1936, in Chicago; he died October 10, 1978. She married Joseph Mizerny on August 18, 1982; he died October 14, 1993. Surviving are a daughter in law, Jane Biernath of Staunton; sister, Helen Nelson of Benton, La.; three grandchildren, Scott Biernath of Edwardsville, Jon and Sierra Biernath at home in Staunton. Preceding her in death were a son, Charles Biernath and a sister, Marie Brikner.

Moehle, Norman F.

Norman F. Moehle, of Litchfield, died at 12:06 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 1999, in Litchfield Health Care. He was 86 years old last May 13. He worked in sales for the Kroger stores before he retired. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1634 and VFW Post 3912, both in Litchfield. He was born in Mt. Olive, a son of Adolph and Orilla Rinker Moehle. He married Gail Avena on June 4, 1934. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Judy Hed and husband Terry of Mankato, Minn., Marla Tully and husband Carl of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was a sister, Thelma Keiser. No services are planned. His remains have been donated to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Plummer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Marlo Tully of Murrells Inlet, S.C., is a daughter of Norman Moehle who died April 18 in Litchfield Health Care Center. She was listed among the survivors as Maria Tully.

Moffitt, John L.

Services for John L. "Jack" Moffitt, father of Robin Sarver of Raymond and brother of Kathleen Chandler of Litchfield, were held at 1 p.m. today in McCullough-Delaney Funeral Home, New Berlin. The Rev. Dave Zeigenbein officiated. Burial was in Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Loami. The family suggests memorials be directed to the American Diabetes Association, Pleasant Hill Christian Church of Raymond or the Norton Christian Church of Norton, Va. Mr. Moffitt, of Springfield, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 63 years old on March 23. He was a sales manager for Drake - Scruggs Equipment, Inc., in Springfield for 30 years and was also a real estate broker for many years. He was a member of the Chatham Christian Church, Divernon Masonic Lodge 1158 AF&AM, and an honorary member of the Illinois Municipal Utilities Association. He served four years in the Naval Reserve. He was born in Higbee, Mo., a son of Wayne J. and Ruby Hardin Moffitt. He married Norma Jean Baker in New Berlin in 1956. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Todd Moffitt and wife Kellie of Norton, Va., Jack Moffitt Jr. of Springfield; daughter, Robin Sarver and husband Larry of Raymond; his mother, Ruby Moffitt of Springfield; sisters, Joan Finn of Greeley, Colo., Linda Cox of Springfield, Kathleen Chandler of Litchfield, Dee Dee Mathes of Springfield; and nine grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his father, Wayne J., and a brother, Wayne Moffitt.

Services for Eudora M. "Dorie" Moggio, formerly of Livingston, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lesicko Funeral Home there with the Rev. Noel Gehm officiating. Burial will be in Spangle Cemetery. Mrs. Moggio died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 1999, in Anderson Hospital. She was 78 years old September 21. She was a poet and had resided in Edwardsville for the past 10 years. She was born in Livingston, a daughter of Herman and Emma W. Gabriel Becker. She married Raymond M. Moggio on June 29, 1945, in Edwardsville. He died June 6, 1987. Surviving are a son, Raymond R. Moggio and wife Susan of Glen Carbon; daughters, Rae Fran Gusewelle and husband Lawrence of Edwardsville, Debra Rami and husband Tom of Edwardsville, Leslie Frandsen and husband J.R. of Alhambra; four grandchildren and two step grandchildren. Preceding her in death were sisters, Erma Edmiston and Loris Bernardin and a brother, Robert Becker.

Mohl, Burnetta G.

Burnetta G. "Nippy" Mohl, formerly of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, in her home in Plainfield. She was 69 years old on September 28. She worked as a secretary for the U.S. Government in San Francisco from 1948 to 1957 then at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville. She later worked for the Austin Company, Cleveland, Ohio. She moved from Cleveland to Naperville in 1965. She was an avid golfer and a charter member of the Springbrook Women's Golf League. She also enjoyed playing bridge. She was a member of the Theater Guild, Heritage Society and the Grace United Methodist Church where she did a lot of volunteer work. She was born in Hillsboro, a daughter of Harold and Ruth Green Young. Her husband, Charles W. Mohl, preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Jeffrey Mohl of Hindsdale; daughter, Cynthia Garten of Naperville; brothers, Russell Young of Tower Hill, Harold Young of Walnut Creek, Calif., Gerald Young of Hillsboro, David Young of Coffeen; sisters, Rosaleen Moseley of Fairfax, Va., Betty Roper of Decatur, Alice DeRight of Hillsboro, Judy Volk of Spring, Mich., Beverly Meyer of Witt; and six grandchildren. Services were held Saturday in Naperville.

Molen, Mary K.

Services for Mary K. Molen, of Carlinville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Davis Anderson Funeral Home there. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery in rural Girard. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. the family suggests memorials be directed to the Baptist Children's Home or the Gideons. Mrs. Molen died Friday, August 28, 1998, in her home in Carlinville. She was 92 years old on May 8. She retired from Carlinville Hospital where she worked as a bookkeeper. Before that she also taught school and had worked as a clerk. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Litchfield, Five Star Club and the Royalty Club at Carlinville Hospital. She was born in Scottsville, a daughter of Silas and Maggie Hiatt Eades. She married Johnnie T. Molen in 1928 in Carlinville. He died in 1988. Surviving are a son, the Rev. Darrell Molen of Brighton; a daughter, Marilyn Edwards and husband Richard of Mount Pulaski; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Molinar, Emilia

Mass of Christian Burial for centenarian Emilia Molinar, of Wilsonville, will be said at noon Friday in Holy Cross Church there by the Rev. Father Robert Porter. Burial will be in Staunton Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Kravanya Funeral Home, Benld. Mrs. Molinar died at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 1998, in her home. She was 100 years old on January 23. She was a member of Holy Cross Church and the Progressive Mine Workers of America Women's Auxiliary. She was born in Collinsville, a daughter of Dominic and CAtherine Barberis. She married John Molinar on September 2, 1913, in Edwardsville. he died January 7, 1965. Surviving are two of her six children, a son, John Molinar and a daughter, Tekla Pdraza, both of Wilsonville, along with 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were sons, Martin and Frank Molinar; daughters, Marie Molinar and Louise Martin; two brothers, nine sisters and a granddaughter, Jayne Molinar.

Molohon, Joseph F.

Joseph F. Molohon, father of Steve Rigney, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, September 19, 1998, in Walnut Ridge Healthcare Center. He was 80 years old last October 9. He resided in Girard and was a laborer with Valley Steel Company in Carlinville before he retired. He was born in Divernon, a son of Stanley and Bertha McLaughlin Molohon. He married Alice Mae Sargent in 1955 in Springfield and she preceded him in death. Surviving are five daughters, Debbie Hogan, Barbara Verry, both of Girard, Ida Pierson of Gracey, Ky., Diane Black of Cadiz, Ky., Connie King of Brighton; five other sons, Joseph C. and Roger Molohon and Terry Rigney, all of Girard, Ritz Rigney of Carlinville, three sisters, three brothers, 31 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Davis © Anderson Funeral Home, Girard. Burial will be in Girard Cemetery.

Monaghan, Grace

Services for Grace Monaghan, formerly of Hillsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bass Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Compton, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Monaghan died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 1998, in Green ery Nursing Home in Royal Oak, Michigan. She was 97 years old on September 9. She lived in Hillsboro from 1912 to 1925. After that she resided in Chicago and later in the Detroit, Mich., area. She was an insurance broker and owned and operated her own insurance business until she retired. She was a member of the Catholic faith. She was born in Harvel, a daughter of Henry Edgar and Lillie Jessie Wise Dunkirk. She married Samuel Monaghan in April 1923 in Hillsboro. He died November 11, 1973. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were brothers, John L. Sr., Clifford and George Dunkirk and sisters, Florence Louise Dunkirk and Genevieve Stroup.

Monaghan, Mabel Vera

Services for Mabel Vera Sturgeon Monaghan, formerly of Hillsboro, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Heaton Bowman Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, Mo. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery there. Mrs. Monaghan died Sunday, August 30, 1998, in an Atchison, Kan., nursing facility. She was 92 years old on October 17. She was born in Irving, a daughter of Henry A. and Nora Lynch Sturgeon, and graduated from Hillsboro High School. In 1923, she moved to St. Joseph where she worked for the Western Tablet and Stationery Company. She married James H. Monaghan on April 4, 1925, in St. Joseph. They resided in Arkansas, Colorado and Texas before settling in St. Joseph in 1951, where they owned and operated Jim's Dairy Supply until they retired in 1969. She was a member of the Jehovah's witnesses since 1937. Surviving are a son, James A. Monaghan Sr. of St. Joseph; daughter, Geraldine L. Boyer of Atchison; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Dixie Vines; brothers, Harry, Ralph and Oren Sturgeon; and a grandson, David Vines.

Funeral Mass for Mary Louise Monaghan, of Gillespie, will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church there by the Rev. Father Larry Auda. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at Gillespie. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie. Prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. The family suggests memorials be directed to SS. Simon and Jude church. Mrs. Monaghan died at 8:32 a.m. Monday, August 31, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital, on the day before her 91st birthday. She was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Church and its Altar Society. She was born in Williamson, a daughter of George and Mary Pavluv Skamenca. She married Robert K. Monaghan on August 17, 1938, in Gillespie. He died August 28, 1996. Surviving are a son, Robert J. Monaghan of Kirkwood, Mo.; daughter, Kathleen A. Espinoza of Kansas City, Mo.; brothers, David Skamenca of Gillespie, George Skamenca of Rome, Ill.; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Preceding her in death were a brother, John Skamenca and sisters, Ann Isaacs and Virginia Shulse.
