Niehaus, Dolores Ann
Funeral Mass for Dolores Ann "Dee" Niehaus, of Mt. Olive, will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Larry Anschutz. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Becker and Son Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. The family suggests memorials be directed to Holy Trinity Cemetery. Mrs. Niehaus died this morning, Tuesday, December 22, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 61 years old on February 14. She worked for Jubelt's Bakery in Mt. Olive and was a member of Holy Trinity Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Mt. Olive. She was born in Shipman, a daughter of Cecil Lockwood and Dorothy Leona Boatright Giffin, and attended the Shipman grade school. She graduated from Brighton High School. On December 27, 1963, in Litchfield, she married Marvin William Niehaus. He survives. Surviving also are a son, Jimmy Wayne McDonald and wife Connie of Litchfield; step sons, Charles Wayne Niehaus of Butler, Jerry Lee Niehaus of Litchfield; a brother, Lawrence Edward Giffin of Mt. Olive; sister, Virginia Lee Hill of Chatham; a grandson, John McDonald and five step grandchildren. Preceding her in death were sisters, Shirley Bollman, Evelyn Newberry and a brother, Jack Giffin. Following the services Thursday a luncheon will be held for family and friends in the basement social room of Holy Trinity Church by the women of the church. Altar servers were Daniel Dragovich and Mat Boston. Ruth Zubal, organist, accompanied the Holy Trinity choir. Pallbearers were Maynard Hampton, Tom Hampton, Harold Hampton, Bob Kertis, Jim McDonald, Paul Rine. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Becker and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Following the services a meal was provided for family and friends by the women of Holy Trinity Church. Mrs. Niehaus, 61, died Tuesday, December 22, in St. Francis Hospital.

Services for Elmer Robert Niehaus, of Mt. Olive, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Zion Lutheran Church there with the Rev. Terry Breum officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Litchfield. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Becker and Son Funeral Home, Mt. Olive. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Mt. Olive Ambulance Service. Mr. Niehaus died at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 75 years old on December 28. He operated Niehaus Eggs and farmed for many years. He was a former dealer of Pioneer and DeKalb seeds, tester for Madison County DHIA and a past member of the Madison, Macoupin and Montgomery Farm Bureaus. He also worked for Walshville Elevator, Mt. Olive Motor Sales, General Farm Improvement Service and Hano Business Forms. Member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Mt. Olive since 1929, he served on the church council and he also sang in the church choir for over 50 years. Before moving to Mt. Olive, he had lived in Hillsboro and before that in Parma, Mo. He was born in Parma, a son of Robert, Sr., and Sophie DeVries Niehaus. They later moved to Mt. Olive where he attended the Zion Lutheran German School. On June 1, 1947, he married Mary Lizetta Stamer in the Zion Lutheran Church of Mt. Olive with the Rev. Hofhenke officiating. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Sharon Snelling and husband David of New Whiteland, Ind., Patty Payne and husband Terry of Green wood, Ind., Beverly Winstead and husband William of Walshville, Marlene Gentry and husband Rick of Mooresville, Ind.; a sister, Elda Prange and husband Erhardt of Litchfield; eight grandchildren, David, Brian and Sherry Carter, Sean Payne, Michael, Michele and Melinda Winstead and Ryan Gentry and seven step grandchildren. Among others surviving is a daughter in law, Yvonne Carter. Preceding him in death were a sister, Minnie L. Mindrup and a brother, Robert Niehaus Jr. Following the services Monday a luncheon will be provided for the family and friends in the Zion Lutheran Church hall. Pallbearers were Don DeVries, Delmar Meyer, Roger Niehaus, Doug Hopper, Jim DeVries, Edwin Sievers, Craig Niehaus and John Niehaus Jr. Becker and Son Funeral Home, Mt. Olive, was in charge of arrangements. Following the services a lunch for family and friends was served in the Zion Fellowship hall by the women of the church. Mr. Niehaus died Thursday, April 8, in St. Francis Hospital.
Niemoeller, Rev. Lewis C.
Rev. Dr. Lewis C. Niemoeller, a former officer in the Central Illinois District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, died Monday, August 9, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 88 years old on April 25. A Lutheran minister for 64 years, he served various pastorates in the district and was also a circuit counselor, Bible institute instructor, pastoral adviser to the Lutheran Layman's league, conference essayist and lecturer. He served on various committees including the Bible Versions committee, the Lutheran Witness editorial staff and the committee preparing the new catechism. He was named second vice president of the district in 1960 and three years later, president. He served in the latter office until April 1970. He was chairman of the board of control of Concordia Lutheran Thelogical Seminary from 1964 to 1970. He was also chairman of the board for higher education of the synod from 1974 to 1977. He was born in Columbus, Ind., a son of Fred H. and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Scheidt Niemoeller. He married Ruth K. Meyer in 1936 in St. Louis. She survives. Surviving also are three daughters, two sisters, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Trinity Evangelical Church, Springfield. Service at graveside will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, St. Louis. Memorials are suggested to the Concordia Village Chapel Fund. Nilson, E. Bessie
Services for E. Bessie Nilson, formerly of Green ville, were held today inDonnell Wiegand Funeral Home, Green ville. Rev. Kenneth Bryant officiated. Burial was in Robinson Cemetery at Pocahontas. Mrs. Nilson died Wednesday, December 23, 1998, in Arizona. She was 99 years old on October 1. She had resided in Arizona since 1936 and was a member of Grace Evangelical Methodist Church in Phoenix. She was born on a farm north of Green ville, a daughter of John Thomas and Rebecca Reed Hall. Her husband, Charles Nilson, died in 1962. She was the last of her family. Preceding her in death were brothers, Dr. William L. Hall, Edgar Reed Hall, Marion Hall; and sisters, Clara Nelson and Madge Foulon. Surviving are a sister in law, Merle Hall of Green ville along with several nieces and nephews.
Nimmo, Opal I.
Private family services for Opal Irene Nimmo, of Waggoner, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Plummer Funeral Home with the Rev. James Borop of the Harvel Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Raymond. There will be no visitation. Mrs. Nimmo died at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 1999, in Heritage Manor of Litchfield. She was 97 years old on February 7. She was a member of the Waggoner Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Royal Neighbors of America. She was born in Macoupin County near Atwater, a daughter of Arthur and Nona Jackson Davis. She married Edwin Charles Nimmo on December 25, 1917. He died in 1974. Surviving are sons, Gerald Nimmo and wife Carolyn of Farmersville, Tommy Nimmo and wife Audrey of Norfolk, Va.; daughters, Bernadine Owens of Harvel, Shirley Jean Young of Springfield; a sister, Dena Williams of Mt. Olive; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Walter, Elmer and Clarence Davis and sisters, Rachel Rundle, Mabel Kennedy, Cleva Billiter and Laura Bandy. Services for Opal Irene Nimmo, of Waggoner, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Plummer Funeral Home. The Rev. James Borop, pastor of the Harvel Christian Church, officiated and was assisted by David Watkins. Greg Nimmo, a grandson gave the eulogy. Musical selections were "In the Garden," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "There's Something about that Name." Grandsons and great grandsons served as pallbearers. They were Mick Beard and Rick Owens of Harvel, Troy and Ty McCart of Eureka, Mo., Jeff and Randy McNeal of Springfield and Rod McNeal of Litchfield. Burial was in Asbury Cemetery in Raymond. Following the services a meal was provided for the family by the women of the Harvel Christian Church. Mrs. Nimmo, 97, died Thursday, October 21, in Heritage Manor of Litchfield.
Nimmons, Howard Earl
Services for Howard Earl Nimmons, of Litchfield, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Plummer Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Langhoff, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church of Litchfield, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Diabetes Foundation or the American Red Cross. Mr. Nimmons died at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 1998, in Doctor's Hospital, Springfield. He was 80 years old on July 6, and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a field representative with Milnot Company and predecessor the Litchfield Creamery Company from 1946 until his retirement in 1981. He also farmed in South Litchfield Township for several years. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Joseph Edward and Julia Isabelle Breitweiser Nimmons. He married Edna Stella Stievers on August 31, 1948, in the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Howard Nimmons and wife Carolyn of Florissant, Mo., Kenneth Nimmons and wife Julie of Litchfield; daughter, Marilyn Strowmatt and husband 1st Sgt. David Strowmatt with the Marine Corps in Kailua, Hawaii; sisters, Bernice Heyenga and husband Harry of El Cajon, Calif., Frances Dean of Litchfield; and six grandchildren, Joseph Nimmons of Olivette, Mo., Matthew Nimmons of Florissant, Mo., Jennifer and Stephanie Nimmons of Litchfield, Nicholas and Sarah Strowmatt of Kailua. Mrs. Nobbe died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. She would have been 90 years old on May 5. She was a teacher in the Montgomery County area for nine years. She was born in Harvel, a daughter of Henry and Regina Werner Brune. She married Samuel Charles Henry Nobbe of Harvel on May 16, 1936, in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Harvel. He died May 19, 1970. Surviving are sons, Paul Nobbe of Hillsboro, John Nobbe of Springfield, Nadine Gieseking and husband Allen of Springfield; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were three brothers.

Mrs. Nobbe died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 1999, in Utlaut Memorial Hospital, Green ville. She was 86 years old on September 29. She and her husband, William, lived on a farm in the Mulberry Grove area until moving to Green ville in 1949. She worked at Hicky's Cafe and in the Commons at Green ville College. She was born on a farm near Coffeen, a daughter of Henry and Nola Snider Vallbracht, and attended the Shiloh School. She married William Nobbe on October 24, 1936, in Coffeen. He died February 14, 1978. Surviving are a son, Raymond Nobbe of Lincoln; daughters, Evelyn Herrin of Green ville, Wilma Barnes of Cowden; a sister, Pauline Johnson of Mulberry Grove; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Burial was in Cedar Ridge Cemetery at Honey Bend. Mr. Norman died at 9:47 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 26 years old last Jan. 17. He was a truck driver for Elm Transit, an EMT and past member of the Farmersville - Waggoner service. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Farmersville. He graduated from Lincolnwood High School in 1991. He was born in Litchfield, a son of James E. and Sandra Davis Norman. He married Christine M. Seward of Butler on December 18, 1998. Surviving besides his wife and parents are a daughter, Daphane Norman and two step children, Dakota and Ruby Seward, all at home; brothers, Craig Norman of Glenarm, William Norman of Raymond; sisters, Tracy White, Tamara McAnarney, Beth Norman, all of Farmersville, and Mary Jane Reed of St. Louis. She was 75 years old on November 11. She worked for Northwestern Life Insurance Company for 10 years and was an escort voluneer at St. John's Hospital for several years. She was a member of St. Benedict's Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She was born in Morrisonville, a daughter of Abe and Emma Millburg Rhodes. She married Howard J. Norris in 1948 in Morrisonville. He survives. Surviving also are sons, David, Robert and Stanley Norris of Auburn, Kenneth "Bud" Norris of Virden; daughters, Linda Grider, Luann Farley, both of Auburn, Cynthia Brewer of Bloomington; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Novotnak, of Huntsville, Ala., died there Monday, August 2, 1999. She was 85 years old last August 16. She was born in Benld, a daughter of James and Maria Marchetti Ceretto. Her husband, Frank Novotnak, survives. Surviving also are a son, James F. Novotnak and wife Suzanne of Owasso, Okla.; daughter, Marria N. Starratt and husband Joseph of Glen Carbon; sister, Delores Genesio of Florissant, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Services for Charles W. (Slim) Noyes, of Nokomis, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home there with the Rev. James Norton officiating. Burial will be in Irving Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Mr. Noyes died at 1:10 this morning, Thursday, July 9, 1998, in Pana Hospital. He was 77 years old on August 19. He was a roofer, and a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association. He had served as a Merchant seaman. He was born in Irving, a son of Thomas and Nellie Taylor Noyes. He married Dorothy Ruppert on April 8, 1967, in Decatur. She survives. Surviving also are brothers, Donald Noyes of Atlanta, Mo., Clyde Noyes of Goose Bay, Oregon, Bob Noyes of Cowden; sisters, Donna House of Coalton, Wanda Everly of Irving. Preceding him in death were brothers, Floyd and Dale and sisters, Iris, Nina and Martha.

Mr. Obregar died Monday, December 27, 1999, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. He was 89 years old on December 23. He was the owner of Paulie's Supper Club and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Nokomis. He was born in Weir City, Kansas, a son of Paul and Mary Palier Obregar. He married June Helfer in 1941 in Hillsboro; she died in 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Flowers and husband Terry of Hillsboro; sisters, Mary Warner and Rose Lang, both of California; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was an infant daughter, Penny Patricia.
O'Brien, John
John O'Brien, father of John O'Brien, Virginia Schutlz and Michelle O'Brien, all of Litchfield, died Friday, December 18, 1998, in his home in Arthur. He was 53 years old on February 7. He was an agricultural technician for John Deere for 20 years. He was born in Taylorville, a son of Floyd and Marie Hancock O'Brien. He married Joy Tillman on July 18, 1988, in Arthur. She survives. Surviving also are stepsons, Garon Majors of Hindesboro, Shawn Majors of Menard; a sister, Betty Lentz of Harvel; and several grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. today in Moffitt Funeral Home, Morrisonville. Burial was in Harvel City Cemetery.
O'Farrell, Mary Blanche
Services for Mary Blanche O'Farrell, mother of Linda Graham of Litchfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Union Mills, Iowa, Christian Church with the Rev. Kerry Lake officiating. Burial will in Union Mills Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Harden Fuenral Home at New Sharon, Iowa. They suggest memorials be directed to the Union Mills Christian Church. Mrs. O'Farrell died Monday, December 14, 1998, in Grinnell Regional Medical Center. She was 79 years old on February 15. She was born in New Sharon, a daughter of B.L. and Blanche Eastlack Saunders, and was adopted at a young age by Edwin and Mary Graham Whaley. They resided in the New Sharon area and she graduated in 1937 from Okaloosa High School. Her marriage, to Wallace Branum O'Farrell on February 27, 1941, took place in her home near New Sharon and she resided in the home all of her life. Earlier this year she moved to the New Sharon Nursing and Rehab Center. Her husband survives. Surviving, also besides Mrs. David Graham of Litchfield, are three sisters, Audree Johnson of New Sharon, Alice Francis of Garden Grove, Calif., Marjorie Eilers of Topeka, Kan.; two grandchildren, David and Doug Graham, and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a brother, Lyman Saunders and a sister, Helen Ver Steegh.
O'Steen, Virginia
Virginia Hall Eppinger O'Steen, formerly of Litchfield, died Saturday, July 10, 1999, in Loma Linda University Hospital, Loma Linda, Calif. She was 77 years old on December 21. A resident of Palm Desert, Calif., for the past four years, she was a member of the Palm Desert Presbyterian Church and the Desert Square Dance group. She previously resided in Florida where she was employed as secretary for the Central Florida Presbytery for 15 years. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of Roscoe Charles and Lena Beindorf Hall. Surviving are her husband, John D. O'Steen of Palm Desert; daughter, Jane Walter of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Elizabeth Hardy of Littleton, Colo.; brother, William Charles Hall of Mt. Olive; and one grandchild. Preceding her in death was a brother, Mark Eppinger. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Palm Desert Presbyterian Church with burial in the Palm Springs Mortuaries at Cathedral City. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Florida. In charge of arrangements is the Palm Springs Mortuary at 6855 East Ramon road, Cathedral City, CA 92234. Oblinger, Josephine K.
Services for former state representative Josephine Kneidle Oblinger will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Sherman United Methodist Church with Rev. Dale Wilfong and Rev. Peter Mascari officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the Boardman Smith Funeral Chapel, 800 South Grand West, Springfield. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the Josephine K. Oblinger Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of A.G. Edwards and Sons or to the Salvation Army. Mrs. Oblinger, of Williamsville, died at 9:05 p.m. Sunday in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 85 years old on February 14. She represented the Litchfield area while serving in the Illinois House of Representatives as 50th District representative from 1979 to 1982 and as 100th District representative from 1983 to 1985. She was also the director of the Illinois Department of Aging from 1977 to 1978. During this time she helped to get funding for the kitchen area at the Litchfield Community and Senior Center and establish the center as a nutrition site under the Golden Circle meal program for senior citizens. She also helped to get a Bicentennial grant that resulted in obtaining the pictures of early Litchfield which hang in the small meeting room at the center. She began her working career as a teacher. From 1935 to 1940, she taught in the last one room school house in Cook County, at Downers Grove. In 1943, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Kent College of Law, Chicago, University of Detroit Law School. She was the only woman in the law school and was valedictorian of the class. She worked that year for the Legal Aid Bureau in Detroit, Mich. and from 1951 to 1962, she returned to teaching at Lanphier High School. She was president of the Illinois Federation of teachers from 1959 to 1963. Other honors include being a delegate and chairman of Older Womens Concerns Committee for the 1981 White House Conference on Aging, being awarded the Salvation Army's highest award, the William Booth Others award in 1985, and the Elizabeth Cady Stanton award from the Springfield Women's Political Caucus in 1990. She was inducted into the Illinois Senior Citizens Hall of Fame in 1994 and received the Illinois Treasurer's award Alliance on Aging in 1996. She was born in Chicago, a daughter of John and Mabel Kneidle Harrington. Her husband, Walter L. Oblinger, died in 1990. Surviving are a son, Carl Oblinger and wife Marge of Springfield; grandchildren, Jennifer and Erik Oblinger and step grandchildren, Christine Gabel and James Gabel III.

Services for Mary J. Obregar, of Nokomis, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Louis Catholic Church there with the Rev. Father Pat Jakel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in StiehlİDawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Mrs. Obregar died at 10:01 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 1998, in Litchfield HealthCare Center. She was 80 years old on December 5. She worked for the State of Illinois before she retired, and was a member of the St. Louis Church. She was also a member of AARP. The last of her family, she was born in St. Louis, a daughter of Peter Mongiat and Lena Azzolina Mongiat Mazzanti. She married Frank F. Obregar on July 24, 1938, in St. Louis. He died July 27, 1993. Two brothers, Joseph and Mario Mazzanti, also preceded her in death.
Odorizzi, Harry J.
Funeral Mass for Harry J. "Tuck" Odorizzi, of Staunton, will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Michael's Catholic Church there by the Rev. Father George Radosevich. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton. Prayer service will be said at 6 p.m. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to St. Michael's church or school, or to Staunton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Odorizzi died at 11 p.m. Friday, June 25, 1999, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. He was 83 years old on October 21. He was actively engaged in farming for most of his life. He operated the Mid America Dairy Farm until 1973. He served part time with the United States Department of Agriculture AAA program. He also served three consecutive terms on the county committee of the former Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service, now the Farm Service Administration. In addition, he was a member of the organizing committee for the Staunton Area Ambulance Service and later served on the Ambulance Board. He was a fifth term trustee of Staunton Township, member and vice president of Memorial Park Cemetery board of directors. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and an honorary lifetime member of Staunton Knights of Columbus Council 2197. Known for his lively wit, he was the anonymous writer of a column about a fictitious baseball team, "The Slaughterhouse Nine," which appeared in the Staunton Star Times during the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was born in Williamson, a son of David and Katharina Eccher Odorizzi. He married Alba Barra on November 27, 1943, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Benld. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Terry Odorizzi and wife Susan, Larry Odorizzi and wife Lana, David Odorizzi and wife Debby, all of Staunton; daughters, Sherry Millner and husband Charles, Mary Sherfy and husband David, all of St. Louis; and 11 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Kerry in infancy; sister, Mary Midgley and five brothers, Jim, Albert, Sandy, Leo and David Odorizzi.

He was 80 years old on October 28. He was a farmer and truck driver before he retired. He was a member of St. Michael's Church and the Staunton Knights of Columbus Council 2197. He was born in Williamson, a son of Joseph and Maria Yob Odorizzi. He married Mary Boston on October 25, 1947, in Benld. She survives. Surviving also are a granddaughter, Sara Beth Claytor; sonİinİlaw, Steven Claytor; sisters, Ida Elsey of Allegan, Mich., Ann Guistalsesi and Rene Veneziano, both of Chicago. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Kathy A. Claytor; sisters, Mary Odorizzi and Rose Koller; brother, Dave Odorizzi; his parents and a step father, Pete Costa.
Oettel, Laura
Services for Laura Oettel, of Staunton, were held this afternoon in Williamson Funeral Home there. The Rev. Michael Kloepping officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be directed to Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton. Mrs. Oettel died at 6:07 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 1998, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. She was 87 years old on February 21. She worked as a salesperson and bookkeeper for several area retail businesses, and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton and the Zion Senior Citizens. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. She was born in Staunton, a daughter of Fred and Lena Weber Sturm. Surviving are a daughter, Jeannette Holeschek and husband Carl of Edwardsville; a son, Jim Oettel and wife Judy of Decatur; sister, Lucille Dobson and husband John of Champaign; brother, Walter Sturm and wife Ingrid of Florissant, Mo.; two granddaughters, Julie and Jennifer Oettel of Decatur.

Services for Leslie N. Oettel, of rural Worden, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton with the Revs. Leslie J. Mitkos and Michael Kloepping officiating. Burial will be in Worden City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. Oettel died at 7:22 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 1999, in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville. He was 71 years old on January 15, and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a carpenter and millwright for 36 years and before that was engaged in farming. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton, Staunton VFW Post 1241 and Carpenters Local 633 of Granite City. He was born in Granite City, a son of George and Elsie Peters Oettel. He married Dorothy Rust on August 30, 1953, in the Zion Lutheran Church of Bunker Hill. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Janice Gebken and husband John of St. Louis, Karen Oettel of St. Louis; sister, Dorothy Kieras of Lake Worth, Fla.; grandchildren, Michael, Katie and Kimberly Gebken. Others surviving include a sister in law, Candace Oettel of Troy. Preceding him in death were three daughters in infancy; sister, Adeline Oettel in infancy; and a brother, Kenneth Oettel.

Mrs. Cameta Gilpin Olson, formerly of Litchfield, died on August 3, 1999. Word was received by Mrs. Bernadine Flynn. While residing here, Mrs. Olson a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters and a cousin, Mrs. Reba Prolitto now of Sterling Heights, Mich. Preceding her in death were her parents, Clarence and Noi Gilpin, brothers, Chris and Ivan and a sister, Virginia Edrington. Ondesko, Helen
Helen Ondesko, formerly of Hillsboro, died Monday, May 14, 1998, in Chicago. She was 64 years old last June 8. Daughter of George and Mary Glosecki Ondesko, she graduated from Hillsboro High School and moved to Chicago where she worked for Bankers Insurance until her retirement. Surviving are a brother, Mike Glosecki and sisters, Mary Jett and Olga McKenna. Other survivors include a niece and nephew, Cindy Fenton and Randy Haycock. Preceding her in death were brothers, Andy Ondesko, John and Andy Glosecki and a sister, Ann Haycock. Services were held in Chicago with burial in St. Adalbert Cemetery there.
Ondrey, Stanley J.
Stanley J. Ondrey, formerly of Hillsboro, died Friday, July 3, 1998, in Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. He was 60 years old last August 2. A resident of Morton, he worked with his brother, Matthew, at Ondrey Gold and Silver in Peoria. He previously worked as a salesman for Central Petroleum Company in Cleveland. He was born in Hillsboro, a son of Matthew J., Sr., and Daisy J. Payne Ondrey. Surviving are his mother, Daisy Ondrey of Morton; brother, Matthew L. Ondrey of Morton; and a sister, Sue Shanks of Eureka. His father preceded him in death. Services were held in Morton with burial in Roberts Cemetery there.
