Patterson, Edward F.
Edward F. Patterson, brother of Robert K. Patterson of Harvel, died Saturday, May 22, 1999, in Cass County, Minnesota. He was 61 years old on December 30, and an Air Force veteran. He resided in Springfield for most of his life and worked as a mail processing clerk with the U.S. Postal Service. He was born in Hillview, a son of Edward Worell and Inez Marie Taylor Patterson. He married Linda M. Drew in 1983. She survives. Surviving also are six children, none from the local area; his mother, Inez Patterson of Chatham; and 11 grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday afternoon in Staab Funeral Home, Springfield, with burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Patton, Harold R.
Retired Major General Harold R. Patton, of Springfield, died Saturday, August 21, 1999, in St. John's Hospital. He was adjutant general of the Illinois National Guard from 1969 to 1978. He began his military career in 1943, serving in World War II as a platoon sergeant with Company L, 242nd Infantry. In 1944, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and served as commander of Company K, 345th Infantry in the European theater of operations, participating in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns. From 1946 to 1950, he served in the Officer Reserve Corps. He then joined the Illinois National Guard and entered active service in the Korean War, assigned as adjutant, intelligence officer and operations and training officer at headquarters IX. He was promoted to Major in 1954, and Lieutenant Colonel in 1960. He also served as Operations and training officer for the headquarters detachment of the ING. He was promoted to Colonel in 1966. The following year he was appointed assistant adjutant general and promoted to Brigadier General. In 1969, he was promoted to Major General and named the adjutant general of Illinois. He was born in Virden, a son of Frank R. and Rachel L. Eccles Patton. His first wife, the former Juanita L. Field, died in 1981. His second wife, the former Morselene Harvick-Micheletta, died in 1990. Surviving are a daughter, Rosemary Hany of Schwedelbach, Germany; step son, David Micheletta of Knoxville, Tenn.; two grandsons and a step granddaughter. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Stabb Funeral Home where services are to be held at 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Services for Louis William Pauge, Jr., formerly of Mt. Olive, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Becker and Son Funeral Home there with the Rev. Paul Lellelid officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society, the Heart Fund or the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Mr. Pauge died at 2:55 p.m. Monday, April 19, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 72 years old last May 13, and a Navy veteran. He retired from Laclede Steel in Alton and was formerly a coal miner at Mine 15 in White City. He enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He had attended the Zion Lutheran German School in Mt. Olive. He was born in Mt. Olive, a son of Louis, Sr., and Anna Loescher Pauge. He married Viola Eickmeyer Peters on october 9, 1953, in Prairietown. She died September 12, 1982. Surviving are daughters, Arlene Harbaugh and husband Dave of Mt. Clare, Betty Pierce and husband Bill of LaPorta, Minn; son, Orville Peters and wife Sharon of Potosi, Mo.; brother, Donald Pauge of Oak Lawn; sisters, Edna Johnson of Springfield, Elda Scheller of Mt. Olive, Violet Mae Sandner of Cabot, Alaska; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were sisters, Anna Pierce and Wilma Pauge. Services for Louis Pauge, Jr., of Mt. Clare and formerly of Mt. Olive, were held at 11 this morning in Becker and Son Funeral Home, Mt. Olive. The Rev. Paul Lellelid, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Litchfield, officiated. Burial was in Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wilbert Scheller, Dave Barski, David Harbaugh, Jr., Randy Niehaus, Mike Laws and Don Sykes. Michael Kasarda and Dick Luescher folded and presented the flag to the family. Taps was played by Jared Carlin and Ryan Obernuefemann. Following the services a lunch was served to family and friends at the home of a sister, Elda Scheller, Mt. Olive. Mr. Pauge, 72, died at Monday, April 19, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Pavich, John
John Pavich, formerly of Mt. Olive, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in his home in Mesa, Ariz. He was 86 years old last October 1. He was a foreman for U.S. Steel Company in Chicago before he retired in 1969. Surviving are his wife, Julia; daughter, Jean Spehar; son, John Pavich; sister, Mileda Boskovich; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 4436 East McKinley, Phoenix, AZ 85008. The family suggests memorials be directed there. In charge of funeral arrangements was Mountain View Mortuary of Mesa.
Pavlak, Sharon M.
Services for Sharon M. Pavlak, of Nokomis, were held at 11 this morning in Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home there. The Rev. Danny Brown officiated. Burial was in Nokomis Cemetery. Mrs. Pavlak died at 7:55 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 1999, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was 56 years old on May 21. She was born in Montgomery County, a daughter of Clarence Lloyd Murkin and Virginia Hicks. Her husband, Albert Pavlak, survives as does her mother. Surviving also are sisters, Patricia Kay Carlock of Fillmore, Donna June Burgess and Linda Arlene Bell, both of Nokomis.

Services for William Joseph Pavlack, brother of Albert Pavlak of Nokomis, were held in Clinton today with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery there. Mr. Pavlak, 68, died Friday, December 10, 1999, in BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal. Surviving also are his wife, Helen; daughter, Lindy Summitt of Clinton; a sister, June Staffon of Bull Head, Nev.; and a grandson.

Allyson Kristine Payne, daughter of Jason and Ginger Gunn Payne of Riverton, died at birth at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 1999, in St. John's Hospital. Surviving besides her parents are maternal grandparents, Clyde Gunn and Debbie Dutton of Pawnee, Earl and Sue Furlong of Athens; paternal grandparents, Donald and Helen Kay Hurley Carlin of Chestnut, Leon Payne of Tampa, Fla., Brett Garlits of Mt. Pulaski; maternal great grandparents, Moe and Lee Bernhardt of Hillsboro; paternal great grandparents, Carl and Ruby Hurley of Lincoln and Anna Hefner. Graveside service was held Saturday in Steenbergen Cemetery at Mt. Pulaski.
Payne, Luzader M.
Luzader M. "Mike" Payne, step father of Beverly Mink of Nokomis, died Sunday, November 8, 1998, in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. He was 76 years old on April 11, and an Army Air Corps veterans of World War II. He was self employed as a carpenter and a master craftsman. He was active in the Masonic organization including membership in the Locust Lodge AF&AM, Ansar Shrine and Springfield Consistory, commander of the Legion of Honor, Christian County Shrine Club and Three Wheelers. He was born in Owaneco, a son of Frank J. and Martha Ramus Payne. He married Mary M. Ahwan in 1942 and she died in 1987. He married Florine Foster Ayers in 1988 in Owaneco and she survives. Surviving also are sons, Ronald Payne of Henderson, Nev., Leslie Payne of Whitten, Germany, Michael and Robert Payne of Owaneco; daughter, Judy Longden of St. Louis; four other stepchildren, Randy, Wiley Jr. and Brad Ayers of Clinton, Cindy Bandeko of Normal; 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Connolly McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Owaneco.

Services for Kenneth Peter "Kenny" Pazero, Sr., of Mt. Olive, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Church there with the Rev. Father Larry Anschutz officiating. Friends may call on Saturday in Becker and Son Funeral Home from 9 to 10:45 a.m. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Mt. Olive Knights of Columbus Council 8716 or the Mt. Olive Ambulance Service. Following the services a lunch will be provided for family and friends in the church social rooms by the women of the church. Mr. Pazero died at 1:03 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 1998, in his home. He was 69 years old on November 22. He retired as an inspector at Fiat Allis in Springfield, having been employed there for 33 1/2 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the Knights of Columbus Father Knaperek Council 8716, Mt. Olive VFW Post 5790. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. An Army veteran he served in the Philippines during the Korean War. He was born in Benld, a son of Joseph and Ann Janulovich Pazero, attended school there and graduated from Benld High School in the class of 1947. He married Norma Topernick on October 10, 1953, in Hillsboro. She died in May 1959 and on November 23, 1963, he married Theresa Zippay in Mt. Olive. She survives. Surviving also are a son, John Pazero of Green ville, S.C.; daughters, Sherry Hittmeier and husband Don, Jo Painter and husband Kevin, all of Litchfield, Shelly Logue and husband Bill of Hamel, Pat Barto of Springfield; his mother, Ann Pazero of Benld; brother, Joseph Pazero and wife Joyce of Worden; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Preceding him in death were a son, Kenneth Peter "Pete" Pazero, Jr.; his father, Joseph Pazero; and a granddaughter, Kristen Logue Wood. Services for Kenneth Peter "Kenny" Pazero, Sr., of Mt. Peacock, Edgar A.
Edgar A. Peacock, of Carlinville, who has relatives in the local area, died Tuesday, December 21, 1999, in Carlinville Hospital. He was 77 years old on April 15, and an Army veteran of World War II. He farmed in Macoupin and Green e Counties and then worked for Monterey Coal Company in Carlinville. He retired in 1987. In connection with his Army service, he served as chaplain for 23 years at reunions for the 44th Tank Battalion. He was a member of the Guy Baird American Legion Post 554 of Carlinville. He was born in Lowder, a son of Ernest and Mae Yates Peacock. He married Irene Behme January 12, 1946, in Carlinville. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Carol Mears of Arenzville; sons, Galen Peacock of Gilson, Lanny Peacock of Green field; brother, James Peacock of Las Vegas; sisters, Twyla Harris of Hurst, Texas, Lorraine Hazeltine of Santa Rosa, Calif.; five grandchildren, six step grandchildren, six great grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Carlinville Southern Baptist Church. Burial will be in Emerick Cemetery. Pelc, Helen
A joint graveside service for Helen Pelc and Stanley Urbon will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Benld City Cemetery. The brother and sister were formerly from Benld. Mrs. Pelc, of Pontiac, Mo., died January 25, 1998, in Mountain Home, Ark. Her brother, Stanley Urbon, also of Pontiac, died September 2, 1997, in Mountain Home. A daughter and son of Frank and Barbara Juelevich Urbon, they were both born in Benld, she on April 3, 1911, and he on May 17, 1917. Both resided in the Chicago area for a number of years before moving to Pontiac. Mrs. Pelc worked for 25 years at the Presbyterian and St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago, retiring in 1984 and then moving to Pontiac. Her husband, Laddie Pelc, whom she married on January 27, 1932, died March 19, 1962. They had no children. Mr. Urbon worked at Goodman Manufacturing until he retired in 1993, and moved to Pontiac, Mo. He was survived by his wife; a son, William of California; daughters, Dawn Duty of Bensonville, Lauren Skrundy of Indiana and from a former marriage, Barbara Roller of Florida and Robert of Illinois; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A brother preceded the two in death. Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie & Benld, was in charge of arrangements.

Services for Mildred Lillian Pelkey, mother of Clarice Andrey of Taylor Springs, will be held at a later date in California. Ellinger - Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge of local arrangements. Mrs. Pelkey, of Union City, Calif., died at 4:11 a.m. Sunday, August 22, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 87 years old last September 12. She managed a variety store before she retired, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Fraternal Order of Eagles and White Shrine Amaranth. She was born in Elkhart, Ind., a daughter of Merl and Ethel Richmond Cultis. She married Clarence Albert Pelkey on October 23, 1932, in Oakland, Calif. He died April 20, 1981. Surviving besides the daughter here are a son, Theodore Pelkey of Union City; two other daughters, Patricia Loretz of Hurst, Texas, Susan Troche of Fremont, Calif.; 13 grandchidlren and 19 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a son, Thomas Pelkey.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday in the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Mr. Pence died at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 78 years old on June 7, and an Army veteran of World War II. Much decorated during his military service. he was a medic serving from 1940 to 1945. He was a mail clerk with the Litchfield post office for 20 years and before that worked at the A&P egg warehouse in Litchfield. He also worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and computers. He was born in Raymond, a son of Clyde W. and Della Mae Williams Pence. He married Audrey J. Gurick on September 6, 1947, in Litchfield. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Michael Pence and wife Patti of Litchfield, Patrick Pence and wife Elizabeth of Bourbonnais; daughter, Cathy Vega and husband Jerry of Litchfield; brothers, Robert B., Ralph W. and James R. Pence, all of Florida, George "Tom" Pence of Livingston, Ray G. "Peg" Pence of Litchfield; sisters, Shirley Oller of Tremont, Gloria Herr of Overland, Mo., Delores Benning of Raymond, Judy Culberson of Litchfield; and eight grandchildren. Preceding him in death were brothers, John, Russell and Dale Pence and a sister, Ramona Jane Pence. Services for Harold W. Services for Wilbur E. "Wil" Pence, of Woodson, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Coonrod Funeral Home, Winchester. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Murrayville - Woodson Emergency Medical Services. Mr. Pence died Sunday, November 14, 1999, in Passavant Area Hospital. He was 73 years old on March 3, and an Army veteran. He worked in maintenance at Capital Records for more than 20 years. He was a realtor for 18 years, operating Wil's Realty. During his Army service, he was an administrative NCO at Headquarters 24 Corps in Seoul, Korea. He was a member of the Jacksonville Realty Association and the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church in Winchester. He raced stockcars at the Jacksonville Speedway from 1970 to 1977. He enjoyed racing and carpentry. He was born in Winchester, a son of Jesse and Anna Wright Pence, and graduated from Winchester High School in 1944. He married Martha Janett Kunzeman on July 245, 1945. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Dan E. Pence and wife Karen of Walshville, Larry D. Pence and wife Vickie of Litchfield; daughters, Carolyn S. Davis and husband John, Debbie A. Marlow and husband Gary, all of Woodson, and Marsha Haggard and husband Bob of Jacksonville; brother, Harold Pence and wife Wanda of Winchester, Don Pence and wife Shelby of Murrayville; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was a grandson.

Mrs. Perino died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 1998, in Heritage Manor of Staunton. She was 94 years old on November 29. She was a cook at Fazio's restaurant in Benld from 1955 to 1965. She was born in Cardiff, Ill., a daughter of Joseph and Annie Benitone Savio. Her husband, Sisto Perino, died in 1984. Surviving are a son, Pete Perino and wife Nancy of Paso Robles, Calif.; a daughter, Genevieve Schmitt and husband Don of Mobile, Ala.; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a brother, Peter Savio and a sister, Mary Zavattaro.

Services for C. Irene Perrine, of Carlinville, were held this morning in Davis - Anderson Funeral Home there. The Rev. David Perrine officiated. Burial was in the Shipman Cemetery. Mrs. Perrine died at 12:15 p.m. Friday, December 17, 1999, in the Heritage Manor of Carlinville. She was 82 years on February 13. She was a past member of the Home Extension Association and the Five Star Club. She was born in Carlinville, a daughter of Roscoe and Georgia Fite Newby. She married Bert Leo Perrine on March 20, 1935, in Carlinville. He died April 19, 1992. Surviving are daughters, Eunice Jacobs of Litchfield, Alice Westenberg of Gillespie, Charlene Fairless of Raymond, Eugene Perrine of Bicksberg, Miss., Linda Rigsbey of Chesterfield; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Robert Perrine; brothrs, Kenneth and Charles Newby; sister, Helen Nix; and a granddaughter, Cynthia Davis.

Mr. Perrone died at 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 14, 1998, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Staunton. He was 90 years old on January 16. He was a hoisting engineer with the number 2 mine of Mt. Olive Staunton Coal Company before he retired. A member of St. Michael's Church, he was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 2197 and a 4th degree knight. He was a member of the Staunton Country Club. He was born in Barnsborrow, Pa., a son of Sante and Frances Seibila Perrone. He married Marcella Jacobs on November 26, 1936, in Mt. Olive. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Sandra Bond and husband Jim, Marcia Delaney and husband Tom, all of Staunton; son, Jack Perrone and wife Linda of Arnold, Mo.; sister, Mary Thiese of Staunton; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Other survivors include a sister in law, Jessie Paulich of Staunton. Preceding him in death are a daughter, Mary Ann; brother, Antone Perrone; sisters, Jennie Dumont and Santa Sanders.

Barbara Marie Perry, step sister of Brian Hayes of Nokomis, died at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 1998, in her home in Flora. She was 50 years old on September 10. She was born in Taylorville, a daughter of Wilbur and Hazel Tanner Prasun. She married Eldon Perry on April 9, 1971, in Taylorville. He survives. Surviving also are sons, Christopher Perry of Herrin, Gregory Perry of Effingham, Matthew Perry of Flora; daughter, Kimberly Ann Perry of Flora; her mother and stepfather, Hazel and Clarence Hayes of Taylorville; brothers, Jack Prasun of Moweaqua, Robert Lee Prasun of Windsor; sisters, Glenda Johnson of Owensville, Martha Norville of Taylorville; other step brothers, Mark Hayes of Elkhart, Jim Hayes of San Bernardino, Calif.; step sisters, Marilyn Garmon and Barbara Hayes of Taylorville. Services were conducted on Thursday in Flora. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery there.

Mrs. Pervinsek died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, in Terrace West Nursing Home in Midland, Texas. She was 96 years old on September 15. She was born in Dortmund, Germany, a daughter of William and Laura Pottoff Thiessen. She married Joseph Pervinsek on September 18, 1924, in Carlinville. He died May 10, 1976. Surviving are a son, Robert Pervinsek and wife Carol of Carrollton, Texas; brother, Martin Thiessen of Carlinville; sisters, Edna Sagal of Boynton Beach, Fla., Lena Medrow of Delray Beach, Fla.; a granddaughter, Susan Holten of Carrollton, Texas, and great granddaughter, Hillary Holten. Preceding her in death were five brothers and one sister.

The baby was dead at birth at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. Surviving besides his parents are his twin, James Thomas, brothers, Jake and Sam and sister, Andrea, all at home; paternal grandparents, John and Hazel Petcher of Hillsboro; maternal grandmother, Marjorie Summers of Hillsboro; paternal great grandmother, Mildred Petcher of Hillsboro. Ben D. Peters, of rural Litchfield, died at 10:24 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 1998, in his home. He was 70 years old on November 6. He had lived in rural Litchfield for many years and was a retired teacher, having taught English and literature. He was also a librarian and a self employed farmer. After graduating from high school in Chanute, Kansas, in 1946, he attained a bachelor's degree at Friends University, Wichita, Kansas, and a master's degree in library science at Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas. He also attended the following colleges and universities: University of Georgia, University of Missouri, Wichita State University, Sangamon State University, Pittsburg State University, Sacred Heart College, Echard College, Lincoln Land Community College and Manatee Community College. He served with the Kansas State Guard, the Marine Corps, the Army Reserves, Civil Air Patrol and Air Force Auxiliary. He was a member of the Catholic faith, St. Louis Soaring Association, Short Wing Piper Club, Illinois Retired Teachers Association, Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. born in Buffalo, Kansas, he was a son of John and Mabel Dryden Peters. Surviving are sons, Ben C. and David D. Peters, both of Pittsburg, Kansas; daughters, Suzanne K. Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date with Glidden Ediger Funeral Service, McPherson, Kansas, in charge.
Private family services for Dorothy Almeta Peters were held at 10:30 this morning in Plummer Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev. Clifford Adair of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvel. Cremation was to follow the services. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Doyle Memorial Public Library in Raymond. Mrs. Peters died at 12:03 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. She was 78 years old on June 14. She and her husband operated the Darald Peters Ford dealership in Raymond for many years. She retired on July 31, 1979. She had also been employed by radio station WSMI for 10 years. She was a graduate of the Metropolitan Business College in Chicago. She was a charter member of the Lincolnwood Community Reading Center, now the Doyle Memorial Public Library, in Raymond and served as the secretary - treasurer for 20 years, from 1973 to 1993. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Harvel. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of Russell B. and Almeta G. Husman Bandy, and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1939. She married Darald Wayne Peters on February 22, 1957, in Litchfield. He survives. Surviving also are a brother, Glenn R. Bandy and wife Patricia of Champaign; sister, Dolores A. Wieties and husband William of Chatham. Preceding her in death were a son, Richard Hailstone on June 7,1974, and a brother,Bill Bandy.

Services for Marian M. Peters, of Watseka, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Calvary Lutheran Church there with the Rev. Dean Bottjen officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Baier Funeral Home, Watseka. Mrs. Peters died Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Litchfield in the home of her daughter, Renee Epplin. She was 75 years old on October 14. She worked for Iroquois Hospital, Blue Cross Insurance and UARCO before she retired. She was a member of the Watseka BPW, the Legion Auxiliary and Calvary Lutheran Church. She especially enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles and reading. She was born in Cissna Park, a daughter of Sam and Katherine Glabe Lober. She married Ed Peters on March 16, 1945, in Riverside, Calif. He survives. Surviving also are sons, Scott Peters and wife Lynn of Minneapolis, Minn., Ronald Peters of Watseka; daughters, Renee Epplin and husband Dr. Jerome Epplin of Litchfield, Dona Kellems and husband John of Watseka; brother, Ross Lober and wife Vallerie of Chicago; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a sister, Dona. Marian M. Peters died Thursday, April 29, in the home of her daughter, Renee Epplin of Litchfield. Services were held Sunday in Watseka. Besides two sons, two daughters and a brother, there are five grandchildren surviving. The grandchildren were not included in the obituary which ran in Friday's paper. They are Kate Epplin and husband Joe Baima, Luke Epplin, Rachel Epplin, Tracy Stewart and husband Andy and David Kellems and wife Theresa.

Mrs. Peters died at 3:25 p.m. Friday, May 21, 1999, in Pacific, Mo. She was 50 years old on April 1. She was born in Washington, Mo., a daughter of Charles E. and Magdalene Blanton Crider, and attended schools in Chicago, graduating from Senn High School there. She married Orville M. Peters on May 23, 1968, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Litchfield. He survives. Surviving also are sons, Melvin Chris Peters of Mt. Olive, Charles E. Peters and wife Loretta of Lawton, Okla., Terry G. Peters and wife Margaret of Potosi, Mo., Cory Peters of Pacific, Mo.; daughters, Tonya M. Purler and husband Frank of Ripley, Okla., Tammy K. Purler and husband Richard of Pacific, Mo., Corrina Peters of Pacific, Mo.; brothers, Edwin E., Kenneth W., Richard F, and Michael E. Crider, all of Hephzibah, Ga., Arthur L. and Melvin P. Crider of Potosi, Mo., and Kevin D. Crider of Caledonia, Mo.; a sister, Beverly A. Kelly of Angletown, Texas; and five grandchildren. Services for Sharon Lynn Peters, of Pacific, Mo., were held at 11 this morning in Becker and Son Funeral Home, Mt. Olive. The Rev. Terry Breum officiated. Eulogy written by Mrs. Peters was delivered by a son-in-law Frank Purler. Musical selections included solos by Elizabeth Pashea of "What a Day," and by Linda Fay Minigh of "God Sent an Angel." Both were accompanied by Dave Pashea, Jim Minigh and Kevin Crider, all on guitar. Pallbearers were Richard Purler, Ron Blanton, tony Blanton, Rick Blanton, Darrell Poertner and Billy Poertner. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Following the service a luncheon was provided for the family and friends in the Oltmann pavilion at Hagerman park. Mrs. Peters, 50, died Friday, May 21, in Pacific.
Peterson, Olga
Graveside service for Olga Peterson, formerly of Coffeen, will be held in Olive Hill Cemetery there. Memorials are suggested to the Olive Hill Cemetery board in care of Toberman's Funeral Home, Coffeen. Mrs. Peterson died Saturday, December 4, 1999, in Bellair, Florida. She was 99 years old on November 20. She had retired to Bellair and lived there for 32 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Rotary Anns. Before moving to Florida, she resided for a time in Pekin and became one of five founders of the Pekin Hospital League. She was also a 62-year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a 60-year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was born in Coffeen, a daughter of William and Mary Cullen Clotfelter, Jr. She married Franklin Peterson on June 14, 1921. He died in 1984. The last of her family, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Clotfelter. Cousins survive, including Charlotte Laurent of Coffeen

Services for Stephen Michael Peyla, son of Linda Peyla who serves as pastor of the United Methodist Churches in Pocahontas and Panama, were held at 11 this morning in the Pocahontas United Methodist Church. The Rev. Donald Burroughs officiated. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Collinsville. Mr. Peyla died at 6:07 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 1999, in his home at Pocahontas. He was 18 years old on June 24, and a student at Kaskaskia Junior College. He was born in Belleville Surviving are his mother, Linda Pierce Peyla; his father and step mother, Robert and Brenda Peyla of Collinsville; brother, Robert Peyla of Highland; sisters, Jennifer and Janis Peyla of Pochahontas; maternal grandmother, Irma Pierce of Edwardsville; paternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Peyla of Collinsville. Others surviving include his fiancee, Katy Jenkins of Green ville. Preceding him in death were a sister, Kristy Peyla and his maternal grandfather, Robert Pierce.
