Mr. Poggenpohl, of Springfield, died at 1 a.m. Sunday, January 31, 1999, in Memorial Medical Center. He was 66 years old on September 12, and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a salesman for Herrin Fertilizer in Mt. Pulaski for 15 years before he retired in 1997. He moved to Springfield in 1973 from Lincoln, was a member of the First Christian Church, the American Legion Post of Mt. Pulaski and the Grasshopper Association of Springfield. He was a 1954 graduate of the University of Illinois. He was born in Hillsboro, a son of Lawrence and Nora Sanders Poggenpohl. He married Lillian Dellomo on September 27, 1979. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Sue Stafford of Connecticut, Marla Bailey of Champaign, Dawn Poggenpohl of Athens; two step daughters, Judy Dodd, Tamie Esella, both of Springfield; sons, David Poggenpohl of Springfield, Larry Poggenpohl of St. Louis; a stepson, Kevin Dodd of Riverton; a sister, Marilyn McWard and husband Don of Raymond; and 11 grandchildren.

Services for Murvin L. Porter, of Bloomington, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis, with the Rev. Jeff Bapst officiating. Burial will be in Nokomis Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Mr. Porter died at 6:23 a.m. Sunday, October 25, 1998, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Bloomington. He was 53 years old on December 7. He worked in electrical construction and was employed by L.E. Meyer Construction Company for 31 years. An Army veteran, he saw service in Korea. He was a member of the VFW in Bloomington. He was born in Oconee, a son of George and Cecilia Lewiski Porter. He married Helen Bracken on July 19, 1968. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Michael Scott Porter of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter, Lisa Kay Porter of Bloomington; brothers, Paul Porter of Nokomis, Gerald Porter of Pana, Albert Porter of Oconee, Richard Porter of Centralia, Jack Porter of Herrick; sisters, Thelma Erickson, Frances Howse, both of Lake Stevens, Wash., Rose Brown of Rosamond, Irma Shuff of Tower Hill, Ann Smith of Ramsey; and three grandchildren, Nikki, Jeffry and Jared.

Services for Lyndell May Powell, mother of Carol Powell of Hillsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. Tursday in Ellinger � Kunz and DAvis Funeral Home, Springfield, with the Rev. Charles Lee officiating. Mrs. Powell died at 7:51 a.m. Monday, January 11, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 82 years old on April 6. She was employed at St. John's Hospital as a nurse's aide for 27 years before she retired. She was born in Elkhart, a daughter of Albert and Mary Anderson Harmon. She married Richard T. Powell on June 17, 1935, in Linoln. He died March 8, 1979. Surviving are five other daughters, Mary Bauser of Long Beach, Calif., cAtherine Kieffer of St. Peters, Mo., Frances Hicks of Harrisburg, Lois and Patricia Powell of Springfield; 15 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were two brothers, Richard L. and William L. Powell and a daughter, Jean Sherrell.

Funeral arrangements for Ralph J. Prange, step father of Dennis and Steve Roberts of Litchfield. Mr. Prange, of Salem, Ark., died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, June 26, in Green haven West nursing home in Springfield, Mo. Ralph John Prange, formerly of Litchfield, died Saturday, June 26, 1999, in Green Haven Nursing Home, Springfield, Mo. He was 79 years old on March 26, and an Air Force veteran of World War II. A resident of Salem, Ark., he was retired. Before that he was an advertising salesman for Kaiser Blair Company. He was, also, a member of Spring River Moose Lodge 739 and the VFW, and was a affiliated with the Lutheran Church, having become a member while in Litchfield. He was born in Michigan City, Ind., a son of John Henry and Willamena Sophia Meyer Prange. He married Priscilla Rose Menossi on June 8, 1958, in Corinth, Miss. She preceded him in death. Surviving are sons, Dennis and Steven Roberts, both of Litchfield, Richard Roberts of Denton, Texas; daughter, Becky Prange of Salem, Ark.; sisters, Eunice Wiest of Salem, Lois Ward of Clairmore, Okla.; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a daughter, Lisa Degg, a brother and two sisters. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30 in Barker Funeral Home at Salem, Ark. The family suggests memorials contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society. Graveside service for Ralph and Rose Prange, formerly of the local area, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, in Cedar Ridge Cemetery at Honey Bend. The Rev. Chad Foster of the Baptist Church of Morrisonville will officiate. The cremated remains of the couple are being buried together. Mr. Prange died June 26, 1999, in Springfield, Mo. His obituary was published June 29. Mrs. Prange preceded him in death on December 23, 1993.

Roberta Ryan Pray, sister of Jean Reincke of Nokomis, died Monday, September 14, 19998, in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. She was 74 years old. Surviving also are her husband, Merle; son, Roger Pray of Genesco; daughter, Marcia Downs of Stonington; other sisters, Wanda Bates of Taylorville, Carolyn Cothern of Western Springs, Judy Brierly of Springfield, Mo.; brother, Don Ryan of Taylorville; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was born in Nokomis, a daughter of Jim and Theresa Fassino Jachino. She married Earl Robert Price on February 9, 1945, in Hillsboro. He died September 21, 1995. Surviving are her children, Robert Earl Price and Ginger Barnes, William Roger Price and Pam Hennings, all of Hillsboro, Jerry Lee Price and wife Stacy of Seattle, Wash., Carol Price Harrison and husband Bob of Hickery, N.C.; four grandchildren, Theresa, Crissi and Audra Harrison of Hickery, and Jackson R. Mrs. Price , of Jerseyville, died at 11:40 a.m. Friday, November 27, 1998, in Alton Memorial Hospital. She was 82 years old on September 21. She had resided in Staunton for 41 years before moving to Jerseyville seven years ago. She worked in several Staunton area restaurants as a cook. She was a member of the New Life Tabernacle at Delhi. She was born in Ellsinore, Missouri, a daughter of Lemuel P. and Nora Bell Carnahan Norman. She married James M. Price on January 20, 1934, in Van Buren, Missouri. He died November 25, 1984. Surviving are daughters, Wilma Cummings and Juanita Alexander, both of Jerseyville; four grandchildren, Gary and Tracy Simpson, Harlan Simpson and Beverly Simpson; and two great grandchildren, Justin and Joshua Simpson. Preceding her in death were eight brothers and sisters.

He died August 21,1936. Surviving are a son, William R. Price of St. Charles, Mo.; daughter, Joyce Bywater of Boulder City, Nev.; step daughter, Opal Dunn. Larry Joe Price , an partner in the law firm of Droste and Price with offices in Mt. Olive and Staunton, died unexpectedly Friday, April 2, 1999, in Christian Hospital North West. A resident of Florissant, Mo., he was 53 years old on January 24. Besides his law career he taught history in the Hardin school district. He was born in Springfield, a son of Robert and Ruth O'Neill Price , originally of Carrollton. He married Cheryl Siemer on August 27, 1966, in Carrollton. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Jacqueline Price , Amy Price -Florez and husband J. Richard, Katherine Price ; son Ryan Price ; his mother, Ruth Price ; brother, Donald Price and wife Jacqueline; one grandchild, Brooke Catherine Price . Services and interment were private. Buchholz Valley of Flowers Mortuary in Florissant, Mo., was in charge. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Larry Price Memorial Fund at the First National Bank of Staunton.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Business and Professional Women, and the Rebeccas in Hillsboro. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of Jacob C. and Daisy Follis Bailey, and attended Litchfield schools. Her husband, Edward Price , died October 10, 1945. Surviving are a daughter, Mildred Downs and husband John of Hillsboro; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a brother, Earl C. Bailey and a sister, Pearl Hampton.

Services for Ruth H. Price , of Litchfield, were held Monday afternoon in Airsman - Hires Funeral Home, Carrollton. Burial was in Shipman Cemetery. Mrs. Price died Friday, July 2, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 79 years old on May 31. She resided in Carrollton for many years and she and her husband, Robert, drove school buses for many years in the Carrollton School District and later for the Southwestern School District. She was born in Springfield, a daughter of Harry and Ruth Gutzwiler O'Neill. She married Robert Price in 1940, in St. Charles, Mo. He died in 1992. Surviving are a son, Don Price of Jerseyville; sister, Peggy Sidener of Springfield; brother, Robert O'Neill; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a son, Larry Price .

No services are scheduled for Meredith "Mitzi" Probst, of rural New Douglas, who died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. Mrs. Probst, 88 years old on October 16, was very active in Senior Olympics. She and her husband, Arthur, owned and operated a horseback riding school in Palentine for many years. He preceded her in death. They had no children. She was born in New Douglas, a daughter of Harry and Carrie Elliot Binney. Her brothers, Harry, Myron and Joe Binney, preceded her in death.. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Remains were cremated with Williamson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Graveside service for Ruth Streight Knotts Provence, sister of Barb Furness of Witt and Junior Streight of Raymond, was held this morning in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. Mrs. Provence, of Carbondale, died Friday, May 7, in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis. She was 73 years old on June 26. Daughter of Preston and Ione Thrift Streight, she was born in Maroa and married Phillip Provence in Decatur. Surviving are her children, Wayne Knotts and wife, Dusteen Long of Nashville, Tenn., Lona Nelson and husband Ed of Herrick, Sue Bates and husband Richard of Lakeland, Fla., David Knotts and wife Sherry of Decatur; another sister, Rosemary Sites of Tennessee; another brother, Jim Streight of Florida; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Clifford E. Pruett, formerly of Witt, died Tuesday, October 5, 1999, in his home in Pana. He was 92 years old on February 14. He was born in Mt. Vernon, a son of Robert Eldridge and Daisy Olive Lansford Pruett, and was married twice. His first wife, the former Grace Sims, died in 1951. He married LaVonne Workman on August 30, 1952, in the parsonage of the Pana Free Methodist Church. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Barry Pruett of Pana; step daughter, Lulu Edwards of Effingham; brothers, Brent Pruett Sr. of Pana, Vance Pruett of Ohio; two step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren and 13 step great great grandchildren. Services were held in Pana with burial in Mound Cemetery.

Jeanette M. Pruitt, sister of Martha Sperry of Litchfield, died Sunday, January 17, 1999, in Smyrna, Ga. She was 63 years old last Feb. 9. She was born in Cedartown, Ga., a daughter of Lawrence B. and Mary Sowell. She married Lamon "Jack" Pruitt on August 25, 1956, in Cedartown. He survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Donna Snead and husband Charles of Marietta, Ga. and two grandchildren, Brian and Joshua Snead. Others surviving include nieces, Lori Sperry Heise and husand Dan of Litchfield, Kerri Sperry Frerichs and husband Dan of Sullivan, Gina Sperry of Manchester, N.H., and a nephew, Don Sperry and wife Susan of Goldboro, N.C. Services were held in Smyrna.

He was a control operator with Ameren CIPS in Coffeen, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hillsboro. He was born in Taylorville, a son of Elmer and Victoria Wayne Pugh. He married Betty Lazenby on February 10, 1979, in Hillsboro. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Karen Eggersmeier and husband Ross of Morrisonville, Kathy and Karel Pugh, both of Irving; his mother, Victoria Pugh of Irving; a sister, Nancy Pugh of Irving; and one grandchild. Preceding him in death were his father, Elmer Pugh; brothers, Elmer, Robert and Gary Pugh; a sister, Rita Pugh; and one grandson, Lee Eggersmeier.

Services for William Lee Pugh, of Mt. Olive, will be held at 8 p.m. today in Becker and Son Funeral Home with Ivan Trauernicht as speaker. Burial will be in Spangle Cemetery, Livingston. Masonic services are planned for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3. Mr. Pugh died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 1999, in Barnes - Jewish Hospital, St. Louis. He was 59 years old last December 3. He was employed as a civil engineer at S.J. Grove and Sons in Springfield and was a former alderman in Livingston. He was active in the Masons and was a current member of the Knightsville, Ind., lodge. He was a former member of the Scottish Rite, Valley and the Murat Shriners, both of Indianapolis, Ind. He was also a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Knightsville, and Teamsters Local 50. He attended school in Linton, Ind., graduated from high school in Terre Haute, Ind., and attended Purdue University for one year. He was born in Shelburn, Ind., a son of Charles and Lucille Parks Pugh. He married M. LaVerne Downing on June 9, 1961, in Brazil, Ind. She survives. Surviving also are a son, William L. Pugh II of East Alton; daughters, Kelly L. Pugh of Troy, Barba L. Bone and husband Jeffery of Mt. Olive; two brothers and two sisters; eight grandchildren, Jeffery, Aspen, Jessie, Autumn, Andrew, Matthew, J.D. and Reagan. Services for William Lee Pugh, of Mt. Olive, will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, December 3, in Becker and Son Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends beginning at 6 p.m. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Spangle Cemetery. Mr. Pugh, 59, died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 1999, in Barnes - Jewish Hospital, St. Louis. His obituary was published Friday. The family wishes to list as an additional survivor, a godson, Ryan John Trauernicht of Wheaton, with whom he was very close. Services for William Lee Pugh, of Mt. Musical selections were "How Great Thou Art," "Wings of a Dove" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee." Rosemary Messner was the pianist and soloist. Pallbearers were Ivan Trauernicht and Ryan Trauernicht, Mr. Pugh's godson. Burial was in Spangle Cemetery. Committal service was held there at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Pugh, 59, died Wednesday, November 24, in Barnes - Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.
Pundzus, Joseph
Joseph Pundzus, formerly from Nokomis, died February 17, 1999, in Arizona. He resided in Scottsdale there, and was 84 years old on January 7. For many years he played the accordion on Saturdays in the Nokomis park. He was employed as a truck driver and was also a farmer in the Grayslake area. He was born and reared in Nokomis, a son of Joseph and Anna Pundzus, graduating from school there. His wife, Mary died in March 1990. Surviving are two children, James and Janice; sister, Sophie Komac, Veronica Rogers, both of Nokomis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A sister, Anna, preceded him in death.

Marguerite J. Pushnik, of Nokomis, died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 1999, in St. Vincent's Hospital, Taylorville. She was 82 years old on September 27. She resided in Nokomis since 1987, having moved there from Pana where she had lived for 40 years. Before she retired she was an office worker for the State of Illinois. She operated the Schloz Market together with her husband for many years. She was born in South Wilmington, a daughter of Joseph and Alvena Roitero Lenzi Sr. Her husband Frank Pushnik died October 6, 1981. Surviving are a sister, Josephine Keller of Nokomis along with a niece, Margo Jenkins of Nokomis and a nephew, Larry Lenzi of Rochester. Services wre held Saturday in Pana with burial in the Calvary Cemetery there.

She was born in Radley, Kansas, a daughter of Ludvick and Josephine Subick Rugel. She married Joseph Quade on February 11, 1947, in Gillespie. He survives. Surviving also are daughters, Deanna Girardi of Staunton, Jolene Hausman and husband Dennis of Springfield; and four granddaughters, Kristin Girardi of St. Louis, Margo Girardi of Staunton, Lindsay and Sarah Hausman of Springfield. Preceding her in death was a brother, Herman Rugel, and a son in law, Robert Girardi.

He was a farmer in the Hillsboro area, graduate of Litchfield High School, member of the First Baptist Church of Hillsboro and the Moose Lodge of Litchfield. He was born in Goodland, Kansas, a son of John and Florence Adcock Quarton, and was the last of his family having been preceded in death by three brothers, Coy, Robert and Ed Quarton and a sister, Thelma Cook. Services for Wendell E. Quarton, of rural Hillsboro, were held at 11 a.m. Monday in Meinschein Fuenral Home. The Rev. Bill Bauhman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hillsboro, officiated. Irene Graden was the organist. Pallbearers were Glen Green wood, Wayne Timmons, Kenny Williams, Jack Cool and Bedford Billington. Burial was in Girard Cemetery. Prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sister Florita died at 4:40 a.m. Thursday, July 8, 1999, in St. Francis Convent. She was 92 years old on August 16. She was born in Glen Carbon, a daughter of James and Jenney Ballock Queen, and entered the congregation of the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis on April 19, 1927. She professed religious vows on November 5, 1929. She graduated from St. John's School of Nursing in 1934 and served the community as a registered nurse at several of the Order's hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1985.

Mr. Quinn was pronounced dead at 3:37 a.m. Thursday, November 25, 1999, at the site of a one vehicle accident three miles south of Jerseyville. He was 17 years old on September 22. He was a senior at Jersey Community High School and had just begun working as a cook at Pizza Hut in Jerseyville. He enjoyed cars and motorcycles. He was born in Alton, a son of Phillip and Sue Gray Quinn. Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Cory Quinn and wife Jamie of Jerseyville; sister, Kelly Beiermann and husband Tim of Jerseyville; and grandparents, Thelma Gray and John Henry Quinn, both of Jerseyville. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, John C. Gray and Goldy Quinn.
Race, Arnold
Arnold Race, whose wife the former Dorothy Mikeska was from Taylor Springs, died Sunday, August 1, 1999, in their home in McHenry. born in Shelby, Mich., he was 78 years old last September 10, and a Marine veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; their children, Robert Arnold, Gina Maureen and John Steven; two sisters, a brother and one grandchild, Morgan Paige Race. Others surviving include his mother in law, Catherine Mikeska of Taylor Springs. Services will be held Wednesday in the Kisselbury - Wauconda Funeral Home, Wauconda. Burial will take place Friday in Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Muskegon, Mich.
Rademacher, Martha G.
Word has been received of the death of Martha Gerhardine Rademacher, formerly of Nokomis, at 10 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 1998. born in Selverde, Germany, a daughter of Gerhard and Elina Aggen Pollmann, she was 91 years old on January 14. She had resided in the United States since immigrating in October 1928. She worked for a farming family in Nokomis for two years to pay for her ticket. On August 25, 1933, in Petersburg, she married Harm Rademacher. He died August 6, 1985. Surviving are four chilren, Anna Funk of Danville, Esther Hartz of Omaha, Neb., Heye Rademacher of CAnville, Edgar Rademacher of Livingston; a brother, Christian Pollmann of Strackholt, Germany; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Other survivors include a nephew and niece, Elmer Broers of Nokomis and Elaine Kuethe of Witt. Funeral services were held in Danville with burial in Lutheran Cemetery there.

Services for Faye C. Radulovich, of Gillespie, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Kravanya Funeral Home there with the Rev. Nelson Reiber officiating. Burial will be in Benld City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Benld Nutrition Center or the United Methodist Church of Benld. Mrs. Radulovich died at 12:40 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 1999, in St. John's Hospital North, Springfield. She was 70 years old on June 15. She was a scriber for Hano Business Forms in Mt. Olive before she retired. She was born in Benld, a daughter of David and Elizabeth Robertson Anderson. She married Robert J. Radulovich on July 31, 1954, in Carlinville. He survives. Surviving also are brothers, Sam Anderson of Benld, David Anderson of Bunker Hill; sisters, Elizabeth Hasquin of Benld, Isabelle Bollini of Joliet, Mary Tongya of Chicago. Preceding her in death were a brother, Peter Anderson and sisters, Lillian Behrens and Christine Anderson.
