Rimini, Edna Mae

Edna Mae Rimini, grandmother of Alan Rimini of Farmersville, died Friday, August 27, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. A resident of Virden, she was 84 years old on December 7. She was born in Auburn, a daughter of Rober and Mary Weedman. She married Premo Rimini in 1935, in Springfield. He died in 1966. The last of her family, she was preceded in death by a son, George Rimini. Surviving besides her grandson, Alan, are two great grandsons. Funeral Mass was held this morning in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Virden. Burial was in the Virden Cemetery.

Ringo, Catherine A.

Services for Catherine A. Ringo, of Staunton, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Michael's Catholic Church there with the Rev. Father George Radosevich officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday in Williamson Funeral Home from noon until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Michael's church or school. Mrs. Ringo died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 1998, in Wood River Township Hospital, one day before her 77th birthday. She was a beautician before she retired, and a member of St. Michael's church. She was born in Staunton, a daughter of Christ and Julia Viste Rigoni. She married Lloyd Ringo on September 30, 1953, in Union, Mo. He survives. Surviving also are a son, Randy Ringo and wife Sue of Staunton; a sister, Helen Bledsoe of Staunton; a brother, Jack Rigoni of Staunton; and two grandchildren. A sister, Mary Stefani, preceded her in death.

Riojas, Elizabeth Anne

Services for Elizabeth Anne Riojas, formerly of Donnellson, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Medora, with the Rev. Roger Balfour officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery southwest of Carrollton. Friends may call Tuesday in Gubser Funeral Home, Jerseyville, from 4 to 8 p.m. or on Wednesday in the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Carlinville Hospice program. Mrs. Riojas, of Medora, died at 6:43 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 1998, in Green wood Manor Nursing Home, Jerseyville. She was 65 years old on December 12. She was a well known cook in the Jersey County area, having worked for the White Spot restaurant in Jerseyville, the Lockehaven Country Club and the Peavey Barge Line. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Medora. She was born in Donnellson, a daughter of Lyman DeCalb and Florence Watson Miller. She married Thomas Gresham on January 8, 1956 in Irving and he died June 24, 1994. Her second marriage was to Roque Riojas on November 2, 1985, in Medora. He survives. Surviving also are daughters, Nancy Gipson and husband Jim of Litchfield, Susan French and husband Jim of Jerseyville; sons, John Gresham and wife Terri of Richlands, N.C., Rev. Orval Gresham and Karen Stanley of Blackwell, Okla.; a sister, Marilyn Baze of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Richard Miller and wife Mary of Hillsboro; six step children, 11 grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a sister, Lola Miller and a brother, Lyman Miller.

Riplinger, OP, Mary J.

Sister Mary Johnette Riplinger, OP, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 1999, in the Dominican sisters motherhouse in Springfield. She was 82 years old. She was born in Chicago, a daughter of John and Wilhelmina Berg Replinger, and entered the novitiate of the Dominican Sisters in 1933. She pronounced religious vows in 1936. Sister Mary Johnette devoted 23 years to teaching in elementary schools, including the St. Mary's School in Litchfield. She also taught in Hampshire, Mendota, Chicago, at St. Agnes in Springfield and in Redlands, Calif. She also spent 19 years teaching in confraternity centers in Carlinville, Beardstown and Arcola. From 1981 to 1987, she ministered in the healthcare field in Rogers, Arkansas. She then returned to the motherhouse in Springfield to serve as sacristan until she retired in 1991. Surviving are a brother, Clarence Riplinger of Rockford, four nieces and two nephews. Friends may call from 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. today in the Sacred Heart convent chapel. Prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be said at 7 p.m. Burial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Sacred Heart Convent Chapel. Funeral Mass for Grace Roach, of Litchfield, will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Mt. Olive, by the Rev. Father Larry Anschutz, pastor, and the Rev. Father Ted Schelich, chaplain at St. Francis Hospital. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Litchfield. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Plummer Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The family suggests memorials be directed to Holy Trinity Church or St. Francis Hospital. Mrs. Roach died at 5:07 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 1998, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 77 years old on August 29. She was bookkeeper and store manager for the family business, R&W TV and Appliances, for several years. She had also worked for Schmidt Trucking as bookkeeper, St. Francis Hospital as accounts payable clerk, and was the manager of Dena's Parlor Team Room, all in Litchfield. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Mt. Olive, life member of the VFW women's auxiliary in Litchfield, Women of the Moose Chapter 581 in Litchfield, and St. Anne's Society. She enjoyed camping. She was born in Barnett, a daughter of Ellis D. and Christena K. Kellenberger Hess. She married Ivan Bennett Roach on July 21, 1940, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Litchfield. He died April 8, 1992. Surviving are sons, Ronald Roach and wife Linda, Jeff Roach and wife Barbara; daughters, Christina Diamond and husband Harry, Theresa Baker and husband Gary; a sister, Helen Fenton and husband Clinton, all of Litchfield; 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were sisters, Velma Kelso, Marie Torpy, Martha Gerson and Evelyn Gleason. Concelebrated Mass for Grace Roach, of Litchfield, was said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Church, Mt. Olive, by the Rev. Father Larry Anschutz, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Father Ted Schelich, chaplain of St. Francis Hospital. Daniel Dragovich and Braden Grejtak were the servers. Ruth Zubal was the organist. Pat and Mary Ann Heise, vocalists, sang "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman" and "Amazing Grace." The church choir sang "Be Not Afraid" and "How Great Thou Art." The grandchildren read a poem written by Michelle Diamond, a granddaughter. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Litchfield. Pallbearers were grandsons, Travis Baker of Glen Carbon, Andrew Diamond, Matthew Diamond, Adam Roach, Christopher Roach, Eric Roach, Matthew Roach, all of Litchfield, Chad Roach of Witt, Charles Roach of Noblesville, Ind., and Jeffrey Roach of Gillespie. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Following the committal service a meal was provided for the family and friends by the Women of the Moose. Mrs. Roach, 77, died Wednesday, December 2, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Roach, Mary E.

Graveside service for Mary E. Roach, formerly of Hillsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro. Ziegenhein Funeral Home of St. Louis is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Shriners Hospital. There will be no local visitation. Mrs. Roach died Monday, May 25, 1998, in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was a member of the Hermon Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Hillsboro, since the age of 18. She was born in Hillsboro, a daughter of William and Cora Gates Ledder. She married James Roach on April 8, 1934. He died September 26, 1994. Surviving are daughters, Mary Ann Johnston of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Sally Branson of Wildwood, Mo.

Roach, Oral W.

Oral Wyant Roach, formerly of Litchfield, died Tuesday, December 14, 1999, in his home in Malvern, Ark. He was 66 years old on May 21. He was a carpenter and worked many places, including at Webco in Litchfield, for a railroad, in construction and as a security guard before retiring to Malvern. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of American Legion Post 11 in Malvern and was of the Baptist faith. He was born in Litchfield, a son of William Wyant and Lillie Fredericks Roach. He and his wife, Nancy Rose, had divorced but remained close friends. She survives in Malvern along with their children, Michael Roach and Roxanne Ledford, all in Malvern, with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Surviving also are brothers, Roxie, Eddie, Ralph and Charles Roach, all of Ltichfield; sisters, Ruby Bridgewater of Litchfield, Mary Lahr of Lexington, Margaret Smith of Gillespie, Violet Faver of Mt. Vernon, Wash., Carol Wilson of Cherry Valley. Preceding him in death were four brothers, Carl Wayne, Richard, William and Harold Roach. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Atkinson Funeral Home at Malvern. The remains will then be cremated and entombment will follow in Crabtree Cemetery, Litchfield.

Roach, Patricia M.

Funeral arrangements for Patricia M. Roach, 63 of Litchfield, are pending at Plummer Funeral Home. She died at 11:15 this morning, Friday, September 18, in St. Francis Hospital. Services for Patricia Marie Roach, of Litchfield, were held at 1 p.m. today in Plummer Funeral Home. The Rev. Ed Diveley, pastor of Southside Church officiated. Burial was in Crabtree Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Litchfield Park District or the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department. Mrs. Roach died at 11:15 a.m. Friday, September 18, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 63 years old. She worked at Brown Shoe Company and Roller Derby Skate Company for several years and also worked as a waitress at The Ariston Cafe, the Annex Cafe and Varner's Cafe. She was a member of the Southside Church and the auxiliary to Kniery Knagg Post 436 of the American Legion. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of George J. and Goldie Harris Coss. Her first marriage, to Richard Heltsley on February 5, 1951, ended in divorce. She married Harold Leonard Roach on September 3, 1965. He died February 21, 1992. Surviving are a son, Roger Heltsley and wife Brenda of Eagarville; daughters, Deborah Widner and husband Paul of Litchfield, Janet Heltsley of Gillespie, Cheri Johns and husband Brad of Litchfield, Deborah Hughes of Springfield; brothers, George Coss of Malvern, Ark., Roger Coss of Litchfield, Ivan Coss of Omaha, Ark.; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were and infant son Melvin and six sisters, Leona Spencer, Gertrude Wolff, Lila Soldatti, Sharon Coss, Nancy Garst and an infant sister, Iva Coss.Services for Patricia M. Roach, Robert

Robert A. Roach, formerly of Hillsboro, died Saturday, July 4, 1998, in St. John's Hospice, Springfield. He was 83 years old on March 21. He had resided in Springfield since 1942, and was employed by Pillsbury Mills as a plant worker before he retired. He was born in Hillsboro, a son of Edward and Gertrude George Roach. His wife, the former Mary Evelyn Hanner, whom he married in 1940, preceded him in death. Surviving are daughters, Roberta Fanale of Riverton, Wanda Roach of Cabot, Ark.; sister, Mildred Petcher of Hillsboro; brothers, Ray Roach of Edgemont, Ark., Jim Roach of Arizona; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Stabb Funeral Home, Springfield. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Robbins, Clifton C.

Services for Clifton C. Robbins, of Hillsboro, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Patton Memorial Home with the Rev. Ken Sandlin, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hillsboro, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association. Mr. Robbins died at 1:05 p.m. Monday, October 11, 1999, in Heritage Manor of Carlinville. He was 88 years old on August 17. He spent most of his life in Hillsboro and was the owner and operator of Robbins Barber Shop until he retired in 1974. He was a member of St. Paul's Church. He was born in East St. Louis, a son of Judd and Belle Meisenheimer Robbins. He married Wilma Bernard on July 10, 1930, in Hillsboro. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Clinton "Gene" Robbins and wife Helen of Springfield; and three grandchildren, Lisa and Ken Robbins, both of Springfield and Clifton Robbins of Belleville. Preceding him in death were a son, Clifton "Dean" Robbins on September 26, 1991; a daughter, Sharol Robbins in childhood; and two brothers, Carlton and Glenn Ribbons.

Services for Dorothy M. Robbins, of Taylor Springs, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bass Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Compton, pastor of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday in the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to Hillsboro Health Care Center. Mrs. Robbins died at 2:55 a.m. Sunday, May 31, 1998, in Hillsboro Health Care Center. She was 87 years old on January 4. She spent most of her life time in the Hillsboro and family and home "her job" in life. She was a member and active in the United Methodist Church of Hillsboro for many years. She was born in Burnside, Ky., a daughter of Rufus and Ida May Robinson Nevels. She married Walter J. Robbins on December 9, 1933, in Edwardsville. He died April 8, 1983. Surviving are sons, Harold G. Robbins and wife Sherry of Benton, Thomas J. Robbins and wife Judith of Taylor Springs; three grandchildren, Rick D. Robbins of Coffeen, Bart G. Robbins of Green ville, Mitchell J. Robbins of Taylor Springs; and two great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a brother, Harold Nevels and a grandson, Michael Robbins.

Robbins, Mary E.

Mary E. Robbins, formerly of Nokomis, died Wednesday, November 18, 1998, in Freeport Memorial Hospital. She was 68 years old on September 13. She taught in the Freeport school system. An active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she was honored by the DAR for her portrayal of Susan B. Anthony, an ancestor of her family. She was born in St. Louis, daughter and only child of Barnett M. and E. Marie Harris Brownell. Surviving are her husband, Raymond Robbins of Freeport, formerly of Nokomis; daughter, Diana M. Robbins of Rock Island; sons, Richard and Keith Robbins of Freeport; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. The remains were cremated and a memorial service was held in Freeport.

Robbs, Paul L.

Graveside service for Paul L. Robbs, of Worden, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Worden City Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Boesen officiating. Williamson Funeral Home, Worden, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Worden Volunteer Fire Department. Mrs. Robbs died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 1999, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. She was 57 years old on January 19. She was born in Livingston, a daughter of Amelio and Charlotte Ann Funderburk Masinelli. She married Robert Robbs on January 13, 1973, in Staunton. He survives. Surviving also are two children, Roberta and Bobby Robbs, both of Staunton; brothers, Jim and Larry Masinelli, both of Staunton; three grandchildren, Dustin Masinelli, Anthony Pratt and Aundrea Best. Preceding her in death was a daughter, Denise Masinelli.

Roberson, Claude L.

Services for Claude L. Roberson, of Sorento, were held at 11 this morning in Perfetti Funeral Home there. The Rev. Bob Mosser officiated. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery. Mr. Roberson died at 2:45 a.m. Friday, October 16, 1998, in Carlinville Hospital. He was 82 years old on November 4, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was born in Crossville, Tenn., a son of Joseph and Clarcy Roberson. His wife, the former Helen Fink, survives. Surviving also are sons, David Roberson of Sorento, Danny Roberson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother, Walter Roberson of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Sons, Claude Lee Jr. and Edward D. Roberson, preceded him in death.

Roberts, Albert E.

Services for Albert E. Roberts, of Nokomis, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in StiehlİDawson Funeral Home there with the Rev. Father John Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Mr. Roberts died at 7:08 a.m. Sunday, June 7, 1998, in his home. He was 84 years old on September 25, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a meatcutter before he retired and later worked as a custodian. He was a member of the Meatcutters Union, the VFW and the Methodist Church. He was born in Nokomis, a son of Levi and Florence Lidster Roberts. He married Jenny Vernetti on February 1, 1947, in Nokomis. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Sharon Workman and husband Tom of Springfield, Karen Roberts of Springfield, Patricia Schneider and husband Byron of Nokomis; and seven grandchildren. Preceding him in death were sisters, May Roberts, Elaine Hedlund and brothers Levi in infancy and William.

Roberts, Dorathea M.

Services for Dorathea Mae Roberts, formerly of Litchfield, were held at 10:30 this morning in Plummer Funeral Home. The Rev. Tony Bell, pastor of St. Timothy United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Cedar Ridge Cemetery at Honey Bend. Pallbearers were Everett Abel, James Brubaker, John Dunkirk, Larry Simmons, James Taylor and Bill Tolley. Following the committal service a lunch was provided for the family and friends by the women of the church. The family suggests memorials be directed to either the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont or St. Timothy United Methodist Church. Mrs. Roberts died at 3:35 p.m. Friday, August 13, 1999, in the Lutheran Care Center, Altamont. She was 87 years old on April 2. She worked for the Litchfield Grocery Company as a bookkeeper before she retired. She was a member of the St. Timothy United Methodist Church and the Hermon Chapter 95 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hillsboro. She was born in Waggoner, a daughter of Hays and Della Wagnor Taylor. She married James Clyde Roberts in June 1929 in Waggoner. He preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Lawrence and husband Walter of Water Valley, Ky.; granddaughter, Rebecca Faulkner and husband Jay of South Fulton, Tenn.; and great grandchildren, Ashley and Zach Faulkner. Preceding her in death were brothers, Donald and Kenneth Taylor; sisters, Thelma Maxam and Hazel Taylor; and a grandson, Chip Lawrence.

Robinson, David L.

David L. Robinson, who represented this area in the Illinois House from 1977 to 1979, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, in Houston, Texas. He was 51 years old on October 12. He had resided in Mexico for the past 10 years and was partner in an investment banking firm in Mexico City. However, he continued to be active in Democratic politics, serving as chairman of the Democrats Abroad in Mexico. He was a graduate Columbia University in New York where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society, and of Springfield High School. He was born in Springfield, a son of Jerome and Shirley Robinson. Surviving are brothers, Richard C. Robinson of Springfield and James M. Robinson of San Francisco. Services were held this afternoon in Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Springfield with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be directed to the American Heart Association.

Robinson, Edna M.

Services for Edna Marie Robinson, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Zion Lutheran Church with the Revs. Donald Langhoff and Jonathan Bontke officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at Meinschein Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Robinson died at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 1999, in Pleasant View Lutheran Home at Ottawa. She was 97 years old on January 5. She owned and operated Robinson's Gas and Grocery store for 40 years. The store was located at 215 West Union, where UJ's is now. She and her husband, Herbert, purchased the service station from John Anderson on October 4, 1934, and five months later added the grocery business. She lived in Litchfield most of her life, moving to Ottawa and the Pleasant View Lutheran Home in June 1998. She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church and also a member of the Ladies Aid and the Golden Circle of the church. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of August and Wilhemina Sewing Schmidt. She married Herb Robinson on March 17, 1923, in Alton. Surviving are a daughter, Charlean Grobe and husband Robert of Ottawa; a brother, Paul Schmidt and wife Myrtha of Litchfield; nine grandchildren, Max "Robby" Robinson, Rex Robinson, both of California, Herb Robinson of Texas, Scott Robinson of Ohio, Cindy Watters of Staunton, Babs Binney of White City, Shari Grandidier of Mt. Olive, Jolene Wilson of Grand Ridge, Brenda Grobe of Ottawa; 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Others surviving include a daughter in law, Barbara Quade of Staunton. Preceding her in death were a son, Max M. Robinson on May 26, 1982; brothers, August G. and Henry L. Schmidt; sisters, Mary Birkenkamp, Bertha Grosenheider, Alma Niehaus. Services for Edna Marie Robinson, formerly of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Friday in Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Donald Langhoff officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. During the service Rev. Jim Crone was the vocalist, Mrs. Marilyn Niehaus the organist and Robby Robinson the pianist. Musical selections included solos, "Silent Night" and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand." Other selections were "I'm But a Stranger Here," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus. Sung during the committal service was "Jesus Loves Me, This I Know." Pallbearers were Benjamin Watters, Douglas Watters, Christopher Robinson, Patrick Robinson, Craig Wilson, Ian Binney. Honorary pallbearers were Cameron Robinson, Todd Robinson. Following the services a lunch for family and friends was provided by the Zion Ladies Aid. Mrs. Robinson, 97, died Tuesday, November 2, in Ottawa.

Roe, Gladys Selitha

Services for Gladys Selitha Roe, of Mt. Olive, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Becker and Son Funeral Home there with the Rev. Father Larry Anschutz officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery at Ridgeway with the Rev. Father Mark Stec officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. She was 83 years old on May 9. She worked in the shipping department of Johnson Outboard Motors in Waukegan before she retired in 1977. She was a member of the Church of the Ascension in Mt. Olive and the Mt. Olive Senior Citizens. She enjoyed especially dancing. She was born in Ramsey, a daughter of Ernie Leroy and Lillie Mae Rhodes Cole, and attended schools there. She was first married, in 1933, to Lonnie Seaton. They later divorced. In 1960, she married Norbert S. Roe. He preceded her in death. Surviving are sisters, Martha Sides of Mt. Olive, Verna Eller of Nokomis; four grandchildren, Loretta Magee of Tampa, Fla., Greg Magee of Denver, Colo., Michael Magee of Tempe, Ariz, James Magee of Salina, Kan.; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Mary Lois Seaton Magee and four brothers, Victor, Claude, Vern and Reuben Cole.

Roemelin, Kenneth G.

Kenneth G. Roemelin, brother of Glenna Hamilton of Hillsboro, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 1999, in Columbus Regional Hospital, Columbus, Ind. A resident of Decatur, he was 79 years old on February 7, and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a salesman, working first for M&M Mars Company and then for the Schultze and Burch Biscuit Company, from which he retired. He was born in Hillsboro, a son of Fred and Elsie Bingham Roemelin. He married Marge Yurecko on August 8, 1942; she died August 1, 1979. Later, on May 18, 1982, he married Marilyn Teiki; she survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Connie Magoulias of Decatur; sons, Kevin Roemelin of Macon, Scott Roemelin of Dallas, Texas; step sons, Mark R. Teike of Columbus, Ind., John M. Teike of Mominville; step daughter, Dianne J. Gallo of O'Fallon; 11 grandchildren and one great grandson. Preceding him in death were three brothers. Services were held in Decatur with burial in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Dawson & Wikoff West Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Rogers, Ruth Mary

Services for Ruth Mary Rogers, of Litchfield, will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in Plummer Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Bell, of St. Timothy United Methodist Church, offficiating. Committal service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Timothy United Methodist Church or the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department. Mrs. Rogers died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 91 years old on March 23. She was employed as a machine operator with the Brown Shoe Company in Litchfield for more than 40 years. She was a 50 year member of St. Timothy Church, a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ltichfield and a member of the Royal Neighbors. She was born in Raymond, a daughter of James and Zella Norvell Cayce. She married Clay Rogers on October 27, 1934, in Green ville. He died in November 1959. Surviving are sons, Gerald "Jerry" Rogers and wife Fern, Robert "Bob" Rogers and wife Donna, all of Litchfield; six grandchildren, Gary Rogers and wife Kathy of Rochester, Jane Titsworth of Pawnee, Sheila Tibstra and husband Jerry of Kankakee, Craig Rogers and wife Trish, Terry Rogers and wife Jeanette and Tracy Rogers, all of Litchfield; and nine great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Ralph, Joe, Herbert and Robert "Bud" Cayce. Services for Ruth Mary Rogers, of Litchfield, were held at 7 p.m. Saturday in Plummer Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Bell, pastor of St. Timothy United Methodist Church and Rev. Father David Schmidt, pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church, officiated. Musical selections during the service were "On Eagle's Wings" and "The Lord's Prayer." Following the service a meal was provided for family and friends by the women of St. Timothy United Methodist Church. Committal service was held on Sunday in Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Tony Bell officiated. Pallbearers were grandsons, Gary Rogers of Rochester, Craig and Terry Rogers, both of Litchfield, Larry Elvers, Leon Green , Don Holmer and Paul Stephenson, all of Litchfield. Mrs. Rogers, 91, died Thursday, August 20, in St. Francis Hospital.

Roglis, Charles D.

Funeral Mass for Charles D. Roglis, of Mt. Clare, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Church, Benld. The Rev. Father Larry Auda was the officiant. Burial was in Benld City Cemetery. During the service "How Great Thou Art" was played by the organist, Rosemary Messner. Pallbearers were Brian Roglis, George Katich, Bill Katich, Charles Weatherholt, Tony Lubrant and Dave DeLaurent. Mr. Roglis died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 1998, in Heritage Manor of Staunton. He was 78 years old on February 6, and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a machinist with Olin Corporation in East Alton before he retired, member of VFW Post 4547 of Gillespie, Knights of Columbus Council 2076 of Gillespie, Benld Lions Club and the Benld Owls. He was born in Wilsonville, a son of August and Petronella Gradeski Roglis. His wife, the former Catherine Chiado, survives. Surviving also are a son, Ronald Roglis and wife Janet of Glenarm; brother, John Roglis of Bridgeton, Mo.; sister, Della Weatherholt of Alhambra; and two grandchildren, Brian and Abby. Preceding him in death were a brother, William Roglis; sisters, Frances Travis and Anna Gribinas. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Benld Ambulance Service, St. Joseph's Church of Benld, or St. Joseph's Altar and Rosary Society.

Rokosik, Walter J.

Memorial service for Walter J. Rokosik, of rural New Douglas, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lesicko Funeral Home, Livingston, with the Rev. Father George Radosevich officiated. The remains were cremated. Mr. Rokosik died at 12:08 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 1998, in his home. He was 82 years old on November 1. He was a jeweler for 27 years before retiring in 1981 from Bechmen's Jewelers in Chicago. He had resided in the New Douglas area for the past 18 years. He was born in Chicago, a son of Peter and Martianna Kedowski Rokosik. He married Ruth Fuller in 1967, in Chicago. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Rokosik of Glen Carbon; sons, Ernie and Thomas Rokosik, both of Chicago; a daughter in Chicago; step sons, Donald Wallace of Majestic Beach, N.Y., David Westmoreland of Chicago, Jerry Westmoreland of New Douglas; a step daughter, Brenda Edgeworth of Glen Carbon. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Rolando, Dominic P.

Funeral Mass for Dominic P. Rolando, of Gillespie, will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday in SS. Simon and Jude Church there by the Rev. Father Larry Auda. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gillespie. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Kravanya Funeral Home. Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Mr. Rolando died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, November 8, 1999, in Rosewood Care Center, Alton. He was 92 years old on January 18. He retired from Superior Coal Mines after 30 years of service and then from Laclede Steel after 19 years. He was born in Ponte Canavese, Italy, a son of Lawrence and Aurelia Sandretto Rolando, and came to the United States at the age of 6. He married Mary Ethel Lyons on June 19, 1926, in Gillespie. She died July 30, 1980. Surviving are a son, John Rolando and wife Romayne of Petersburg; daughters, Virginia Forehand and husband, David Warren of Bethalto, Jonette (Vivian) Rolando, R.S.M., of St. Louis; six grandchildren, two step grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were an infant son, William Lawrence Rolando; brothers, Michael and John Rolando; sisters, Santina Nardini, Catterina Failoni and Caroline Gerardo.

Rolando, Edward A.

Memorial service for Edward A. Rolando, of Benld, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie, with the Very Rev. Father Paul Waters officiating. The remains will be cremated. Friends may call on Friday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Gillespie Benld Area Ambulance Service, Staunton Memorial Hospital or the Carlinville Hospice. Mr. Rolando died at 6:01 a.m. Monday, October 26, 1998, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. He was 55 years old last November 4. He was a lithographer for the St. Louis Post Dispatch, a member opf the Knights of Columbus Council 2076, Gillespie, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Benld Italian American Club, Lions Club of Benld and the Graphic Communications International Union Local 505, St. Louis. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Edward and Linda Bertagnolli Rolando. He married Deborah Garrett on August 10, 1968, in Wilsonville. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Matthew Rolando of Gillespie; daughter, Lisa Rolando Angel of Springfield; brother, John "Jacko" Rolando of Gillespie; sister, Rosemary Bunn of Gillespie; grandchildren, Ashley and Caitlin Angel of Springfield. Others surviving include his mother in law, Dorothy Garrett of Wilsonville.
