Services for Ruby Isabel Ruppe, of Litchfield, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Plummer Funeral Home with the Rev. C. Brent Cloyd, of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery at Van Burensburg. Friends may call in the funeral home on Sunday from noon until the time of service. The family suggest memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church Building Fund. Mrs. Ruppe died at 2:50 a.m. this morning, Friday, September 4, 1998, in Heritage Manor of Litchfield. She was 88 years old on February 27. She was employed in the fitting department of Brown Shoe Company, Litchfield, for 18 years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She graduated from Fillmore High School in 1928. She was born in Fillmore, a daughter of Thomas Eugene and Martha Edith Elam Cook. She married Esty Clyde Ruppe on December 1, 1928, in the Baptist church at Van Burensburg. he died April 20, 1993. Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Leitschuh and husband Raymond of Fillmore; sisters, Maudie Green wood of Coffeen, Ila Harrison of Edwardsville, Doris Brown and husband Howard of Edwardsville; and one grandchild, Michael Leitschuh. Preceding her in death was a sister, Hazel Allen. Services for Ruby Isabell Ruppe, of Litchfield, were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Plummer Funeral Home. The Rev. C. Ruppert, Beulah E.
Services for Beulah E. Ruppert, of Nokomis, were held at 11 this morning in St. Paul's Lutheran Church there. The Rev. James Norton, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Ruppert died Thursday, January 7, 1999, as the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Illinois Rt. 16 at Ohren lane. She was pronounced dead at 11:58 a.m. in the emergency room of St. Francis Hospital. She was 74 years old on December 8. She was an active member in St. Paul's Church, teaching Sunday school there for 35 years and as a member of the LWML, the Ladies Aid and the church choir. A farm wife, she and her husband, Orlo, raised dairy cattle on their farm northwest of Nokomis unitl the retired in 1988. They were members of the Holstein Association. They were also co leaders of Walker 4H club for more than 35 years and received special recognition for their dedication from the Montgomery County 4H organization in February 1989. The couple first met in the early 1940s at a 4İH event at the state fair. Booth attended 4İH Congress, one of the highest honors for a 4Her. Mrs. Ruppert was also active as blood drive volunteer. Daughter of Martin P. and Augustine Blievernick Moeller, she grew up in Effingham, graduating from Effingham High School. She married Orlo Ruppert on April 9, 1944, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Wheeling. He survives. Surviving also are sons, David Ruppert and wife Lenore of Nokomis, Thomas Ruppert and wife Ruth of Peoria; a daughter, Christine Anderson and husband Dale of Tiskilwa; brothers, Earl and Roland Moeller, both of Effingham; a sister, Alma Moeller of Effingham; and nine grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a grandson, Chad Martin Anderson; sisters, Irene Schuette and one in infancy; and brothers, Fred, Ernest, Dan, Art and Arnold Moeller.

Services for Henry E. Ruschhaupt, of rural Staunton, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton. The Revs. Leslie J. Mitkos and Michael Kloepping will officiate. Mr. Ruschhaupt died at 12:10 a.m. Friday, April 9, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 82 years old on April 23. He was a farmer, member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton, the men's club of the church, the Mt. Olive A.T.A. and the Macoupin County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed his grandsons, springtime, gardening, his church and the people connected with them. He was born in rural Staunton, a son of William and Minnie Sievers Ruschhaupt. He married Laura Niehaus on September 23, 1945, in Zion Lutheran Church of Mt. Olive. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Lawrence Ruschhaupt and wife Karen of Staunton, Ronald Ruschhaupt of Mt. Olive; and three grandsons, Timothy, Mark and Ryan Ruschhaupt. Preceding him in death was a brother, Harry Ruschhaupt in infancy.

Services for Evelyn R. Russell, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Union Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Jay Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in Meinschein Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Union Avenue Christian Church or St. Francis Hospital Foundation. Mrs. Russell died at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 81 years old on March 3. She and her husband, Al, owned and operated Austin and Shrader Hardware Store in Litchfield for many years. After the store was closed, she worked at Donham's Ladies Apparel in Litchfield for several more years before retiring. She was a charter member of the P.E.O. and the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of the Union Avenue Christian Church. She enjoyed knitting. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of Bert and Mabel Bringhurst Shrader. She married Ollie Monroe "Al" Russell on August 16, 1935, in Mulberry Grove. He died January 17, 1984. Surviving are her children, Barbara W. Schmidt and husband Earl A., Bert S. Russell and wife Patricia, Rebecca J. Russell, all of Litchfield, and Brenda S. Johnson and husband Douglas of Hillsboro; 12 grandchildren, Todd Schmidt of Tallahassee, Fla., Mark Schmidt of Springfield, Sara Kuehner of Phoenix, Ariz., Holly Hampton of Edwardsville, Matthew Russell of Burlington, Wis., Kristin Murgas of Naperville, Kerri Schmedeke of Summerville, S.C., Adrienne Buske of St. Cloud, Minn., Grant Buske of St. Louis, Alyssa Buske of Litchfield, Kent and Eric Johnson of Columbia; and eight great grandchildren, Lauren and Blake Kuehner of Phoenix, Ariz., Tyler Schmidt of Tallahassee, Fla., Nathan Schmidt of Springfield, Maren Hampton of Edwardsville, Rachel, Jonathan and Ryan Russell, all of Burlington, Wis. Services for Evelyn R. Russell, of Litchfield, were held this morning at 11 in the Union Avenue Christian Church. The Rev. Jay Johnson presided. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. P.E.O. ritual was held preceding the service. Musical selections for the service were "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and "Amazing Grace." Linda Maulding was the organist. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1986.
Russell, Shearon Louise
Shearon Louise Russell, whose husband John was reared in Hillsboro, died Monday, September 14, 1998, in their home in Kankakee. She was 53 years old on March 10. She was a daughter of Ernest and Paulene Schwab and married John Russell on April 27, 1968, in Assumption. He survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Sandra Cheffer of Kankakee; sons, Scott Russell of Kankakee, Stuart Russell of Waukegan; her father, Ernest schwab of Assumption; sisters, Earlene Jones of San Antonio, Texas, Verna RAney of Ozark, Ark.; and one grandchild. Other survivors include brothers in law, Jim and Melvin Russell of Hillsboro and George Russell of Rochester. Preceding her in death were her mother, Paulene in 1986, and a brother, Marvin Schwab on August 9 this year. Services were held in Kankakee with burial in All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais.

Service for Charles L. Rutherford, of Shipman, were held this morning in Targheta Funeral Home there. Mr. Rutherford, of Shipman, died Saturday, September 19, 1998, in Jersey Community Hospital. He was 82 years old on August 5.He was a machinist for OİM before he retired. He was born in Girard, a son of Horace Ebert and Marion Gay Morrison Rutherford. He married Helen B. Bradford in 1939 and she died in 1974. He then married Billie F. Hausafus in 1975 in Alton. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Carol Pinson and husband Homer of Worden; Sandy Bruggeman and husband Bob of Plainview, Judy Rutherford of Godfrey, Penny Wilson and husband Clay of Vandalia, Janice Gunning and husband Charles of Carlinville; sons, Carl A. Rutherford and husband Ruth Ann of Glen Carbon, Charles "Boots" Rutherford and wife Beverly of Moro, Terry Joe Rutherford and wife Denise of Carterville, Curtis R. Rutherford and wife Portia of Staunton; a sister, Marion Green of Kankakee; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be directed to a memorial fund which has been established in his name. Mr. Ryan died at 12:54 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 1999, in St. John's Hospital in Springfield. A resident of that city for the past 44 years, he was 73 years old and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a repairman with the Bentler Amusement Company before he retired. He was also retired from Sears. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Glen and Jessie Kessinger Ryan. He married Thelma Irene Fenton on February 13, 1949. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Wanda Ryan, Jean Ryan-Stine and husband Ron, Vicki Bergner and husband Danny, all of Springfield, Pamela Kemp and husband Vincent of Virden; a son, James Ryan of Springfield; a sister, Mamie Reed of Springfield; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a brother, James Ryan and a granddaughter, Gina.

Private family services for Helen Ryczaj, of Litchfield, will be held in Plummer Funeral Home. Inurnment of cremains will be held in St. Joseph Greek Catholic Church Cemetery in Duquesne, Pa. Mrs. Ryczaj died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21, in her home. She was 81 years old on September 16. She was a member of th Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield, Litchfield Senior Citizens Club and the Christian Mothers in Duquesne. She was born in Duquesne, a daughter of Vasil and Sophia Fazakas Peresta. She married William J. Ryczaj on April 1, 1944, in Duquesne. He survives. Surivving also are a son, William Ryczaj and wife Cheryl of Litchfield; sisters, Anne Zewe of Duquesne, Sally Stokolosa of Braddock, Pa., Mary Estu of Irwin, Pa.; and granddaughters, Bethany and Ashley Ryczaj.

She was born in Walshville, a daughter of Samuel and Sophia Hagerman Guthals. She married Harry Saathoff on November 26, 1930, in Reno, Ill. He died September 21, 1995. Miss Saathoff died at 9:15 p.m. Monday, July 5, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 61 years old on March 15. She was employed as a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital for 31 years before retiring in 1994 because of ill health. She received nurse's training at the Missouri Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1959. She was a 1956 graduate of Litchfield High School. She was a member of Litchfield Southern Baptist Church and served as the church secretary and pianist. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of Harry George and Matilda Mae Bruce Saathoff. She never married. Surviving are sisters, Dolores J. Butts and Mary Dycus, both of Litchfield, Paula Perrine of Girard; half sister, Dorothy Saathoff of Litchfield; half brother, David Saathoff of Litchfield; three nieces and nephew, including Phyllis Jenkins of Carlinville; a great niece and four great nephews. Services for Marita Dell Saathoff, of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Litchfield Southern Baptist Church. Pastor Mike Bates officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Phyllis Lively was the organist and accompanied the congregation while they sang "Face to Face," "When the Morning Comes" and "I Stand Amazed in His Presence." Olive, a daughter of Gustav and Lina Peine Viehweg. She married George John Saathoff on May 25, 1926, in Mt. Olive. He died in 1969. Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Dittus of Litchfield and three grandchildren, Dana Klim and husband William of Jackson, Mo., Lori Jacobs and husband James of San Diego, Calif., Jane Dittus of Edwardsville; and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Erwin, Waldmer, Herbert, Edward and Roland Viehweg, and a sister, Leah Carson. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Litchfield High School Scholarship Fund. Mr. Sackett died at 5:09 a.m. Monday, December 27, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 78 years old on September 30, and an Army veteran of World War II. He worked for many years as a radio dispatcher with the Ltichfield Police Department. After his retirement he owned and operated Sackett Cab Company. During his military service he attained the rank of sergeant. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Litchfield, serving as Sunday school teacher and youth counselor. He enjoyed gardening as a pastime. He was born in Ltichfeild, a son of Duaine R. and Clarise Marie Lawrence Sackett. He married Phyllis Lorraine VanTheemsche in the First Baptist Church of Rock Island. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Robert Duaine Sackett of Worlan, Wyo., Dennis Lee Sackett of Peoria; daughter, Linda Lee Fry of Chasks, Minn.; sister, Darlene Murray of Pana; and three grandchildren. Preceding him in death was a brother, Loren Lee Sackett. Services for Duaine J. Sackett, Jr., of Litchfield, were held at 10 this morning in Plummer Funeral Home. The Rev. She accompanied Shirley Edwards while she sang "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Victory in Jesus." Members of the Litchfield Police Department serving as pallbearers were Jeff Davis, Gene Guinn, John Hodge, Lee Jarman, Darin McBride and Ross Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were William Dolahite, Earl Logsdon, John Thull, George Todt, Rex Trader and George West. A recording of "Onward Christian Soldiers" was played during the committal service at graveside. Military rights were held with Will Tackaberry, Bill Bates, Charles Cress, Lee Baker and Dave Allen representing American Legion Post 436, Larry Schneck, V.C. Chasteen, Joe Wilson, Phil Burdell, representing VFW Post 3912. Dave Allen presented the flag to Mrs. Phyllis Sackett. Kaci Becker played "Taps." Mr. Sackett, 78, died Monday, December 27, in St. Francis Hospital.
Sailly, Sharon M.
Sharon Marie Hauck Sailly, formerly of Litchfield, died September 14, 1999 in Asheville, N.C., following a year-long battle with lung cancer. She was 57 years old last November 7. While residing in Litchfield, she resided on Arrowhead road. She managed the restaurant at Red Rooster Inn for a time and in 1979, she realized a life-long dream in opening Maggie's Place Cafe and Bar. The venture proved to be a successful enterprise and became a popular gathering place for its food and pleasant atmosphere. She sold the business to move on to other ventures in Florida in 1985. Before coming to Litchfield, she resided in Joliet for many years and attended Joliet Junior College, graduating in 1971 with a degree in culinary arts. She was born in Ottawa, a daughter of Leo and Dorothy Hauck. Surviving are her daughters, Victoria Sheppard - LaBrecque, M.D. of Asheville, Lori Longieliere and Jyme Sue Olson both of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and five grandchildren. Services for Ambrose Douglas "Salty" Sailsbury, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. C. Brent Cloyd officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Plummer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Sailsbury died at 7:42 this morning, Wednesday, September 2, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 77 years old on January 26, and a veteran of World War II. He was a welder with Fiat Allis in Springfield for many years. During the war he served in Alaska with the Army Air Corps as a mechanic and welder on aircraft. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1634, VFW Post 3912, American Legion Post 436 and the First Baptist Church, all in Litchfield. He was born in North City, Illinois, a son of Silas Andrew and Alice Bell Sailsbury. His first wife, Elizabeth, preceded him in death. He married the former Verna Guthrie on March 21, 1964. She survives. Surviving also are a sister, Velma Dittmere of Crawfordsville, Ind.; step daughter, Carolyn Houlihan and husband Raymond of Litchfield; daughter in law, Marcia Sailsbury of Springfield; a granddaughter, Michelle Sailsbury; two step grandchildren, Pamela Heaton and husband Chuck Jr., and Michael Houlihan; 11 great and step great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Douglas A. Sailsbury, a daughter in infancy and a sister. Pallbearers were Maynard Hartke, Michael Houlihan, Raymond Houlihan, Bill Guthrie, Daniel Evans and Steve Dittmer. Military honors were conducted at graveside in Elmwood Cemetery by members of American Legion Post 436 and VFW Post 3912. The flag was folded and presented to Mrs. Sailsbury by Larry Schneck and Jim Benton. Taps was played by Shay westhoff. Following the services a dinner was served by the women of the church. Clarence John Salovich, 65, of Staunton and formerly of Mt. Olive, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. Funeral Mass has been planned for 11 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Ascension, Mt. Olive, with a visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Becker and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Olive Library, Calvary Cemetery or the Ascension Church. Mr. Salovich, of Staunton, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday, October 18, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 65 years old on June 27. An employee of McDonnell - Douglas Aircraft Corporation in St. Louis for 31 years, he was an engineer, computer programmer and department head. He also designed the stabilizer bar for the Phantom Jet. He attended Mt. Olive grade school and graduated from Mt. Olive High School in the class of 1952. He then attended Shurtleff College in Alton and worked at Cliffton Terrace Restaurant while attending school. He graduated from Shurtleff in 1957. He enjoyed photography as a hobby. He was born in Sawyerville, a son of John and Theresa Helen Masek Salovich. He married Charmayne Reis on November 16, 1957, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Benld. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Michael David Salovich of Staunton, Mark Alan Salovich of Mt. Olive; daughter, Lisa Renee Allen and husband John of Sawyerville; brother, Richard Dale Salovich and wife Marilyn of Valencia, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Katie Marie and Chelsea Marie Allen and John Anthony Allen III, all of Sawyerville. Services for Clarence John Salovich, of Staunton, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Church of the Ascension, Mt. Olive. The Rev. Father Larry Anschutz officiated. Server was Daniel Dragovich. Ascension choir sang under the direction of Shirley Yancik and accompanied by organist Amy Dragovich. Pallbearers were Ken Calvin, Mike Salovich, Steve Eaker, John Allen, Ron Smith, Ken Clark, Gil Adams, Jeramey Johnson. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Becker and Son Funeral Home, Mt. Funeral Mass for William A. Sammis, formerly of Eagarville, will be said at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Church, Benld, by the Rev. Father Larry Auda. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gillespie. Friends may call on Wednesday in the church from 10 a.m. until the service. Mr. Sammis died at 12:35 a.m. Sunday, June 27, 1999, in Troy, Mo., Nursing and Rehabilitation. He ws 84 years old on January 19. For many years he volunteered at nursing homes throughout Illinois as a "one-man band." He worked as a millwright with the Mansanto Corporation for more than 30 years before he retired. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus in Bethalto. He was born in Mt. Olive, a son of Charles and Elizabeth Bagzis Sammis. Surviving are daughters, Barb Schniedermeyer and husband Stephen of Troy, Mo., Charlene Sammis - Singleton of Travenier, Fla.; four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was 76 years old on September 20. She worked for the former Brown Shoe Company in Litchfield as a machine operator, Sangamo Electric and the State of Illinois. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Litchfield. She was born in Sorento, a daughter of Charles A. and Mary K. Martin Cruthis, and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1939. She married Lloyd F. Jones on November 1, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo.; they later divorced. She married Alfred A. Sample on January 27, 1968, in Litchfield; he died March 14, 1993. Surviving are daughters, Karen Butts and husband Donald of Litchfield; Linda Clevenger and husband Marvin of Chatham; step son, Ronald Sample and wife Edna of Litchfield; step daughter, Deborah Ragland and husband Lonnie of Litchfield; sisters, Lucille Wernsing and husband Howard of Litchfield, Dorothy Griffiths and husband Euell of Sorento, Bertha Prosise of Salem; four grandchildren, three step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Vern, Donald and Darrell Cruthis and a sister, Myrna Salonitis. He was 89 years old on July 20. He was a farmer and also worked on railroads and in construction. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church. He was born in Montgomery County, a son of Sherman H. and Ida Revis Sanders. He married Wilda O. Drake on October 19, 1935, in Hillsboro. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Richard Sanders and wife Sharon of Hillsboro; daughter, Brenda Calame and husband Dale of Witt; sisters, Myrtle McCaslin, Margaret Cearlock, both of Nokomis; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son at birth; brothers, Luther, Harold, Eugene and Vester Sanders; sisters, Pearl Fleming, Genevieve Newenschwander; and one grandchild.

Services for Charles Own Sanders, of Ohlman, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sutton Funeral Home, Nokomis. Military rites will be conducted at graveside in Ohlman Cemetery. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Sanders died Sunday, July 12, 1998, in his home and was pronounced dead by the Montgomery county coroner at 8 a.m. He was 96 years old on October 15. He was a mechanical engineer before he retired, and a member of Masonic A.F.&A.M. 456. He was born in Audubon Township of Montgomery County, a son of Erwin and Julia Hildebrandt Sanders. He married Lottie Elizabeth Smogor on April 26, 1936. She died August 16, 1975. Surviving are a son, Robert Frank Sanders of Makanda; a daughter, Marjorie Durkin of Shreveport, La.; and two granddaughters. Preceding him in death were a brother, Lemanuel Sanders and sisters, Orlena Darst and Julia Vineta.
Sanders, Howard C.
Howard C. Sanders, a former director of the juvenile parole system in the region, died Tuesday, September 15, 1998, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. A resident of Springfield, he was 89 years old. He left the juvenile justice system in 1952 and worked in various administrative capacities in the general office of the Illinois Department of Public Welfare, now known as the Department of Mental Health and Development Disabilities until 1974, when he retired. Services will be held Friday in Springfield with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Services for Ferne B. Sandrin, of Livingston, were held at 11 this morning in Holy Cross Lutheran Church there. The Rev. Maurice Alms officiated. Burial was in Spangle Cemetery. Lesicko Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be directed to Spangle Cemetery or the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Mrs. Sandrin died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 25, 1999, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. She was 79 years old on September 13. She was a deputy clerk in the Madison County Recorders office, Edwardsville, before she retired, and a member of the Holy Cross Church. She was born in Olmirtz, Iowa, a daughter of Harry P. and Florence L. Muck Bowen. She married Eugene Sandrin on November 21, 1940, in St. Charles, Mo. He died August 10, 1981. The last of her family, she is survived by a sister in law, Albina Bowen and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were a son, David in infancy; brother, Harry P. Bowen Jr.; and sisters, Bernice Smith and Ione Ewart.

Mary Jane Sanford, 88 of Hillsboro, died at 7:10 this morning in Hillsboro Health Care Center. She is the mother of Mae Smoot, wife of Everett Smoot of Litchfield. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday in Patton Memorial Home, Hillsboro, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is planned on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. Services for Jane Sanford, of Hillsboro, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Patton Memorial Home there with the Rev. Gloria Davis, pastor of the Witt and Irving United Methodist Churches, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro. Friends may call on Saturday in the funeral home from noon until the time of service. Mrs. Sanford died at 7:10 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 1998, in Hillsboro Health Care Center. She was 88 years old on August 17. She spent most of her life in the Hillsboro area. She was a member of the women's auxiliary to VFW Post 1306 at Taylor Springs and a past member of the auxiliary's kitchen band. She was born in Moro, a daughter of John and Hannah Osborn Boyd. She married Robert Sanford on December 9, 1927, in Taylor Springs. He died in February 1980. Surviving are sons, Clifford Sanford and wife Gloria of Hillsboro, Robert Sanford and wife Sharon of Indianapolis, Ind., Earl Sanford and wife Waneta of Witt; a daughter, Mae Smoot and husband Everett of Litchfield; brothers, John Boyd of Irving, Joseph Boyd of Hillsboro; sister, Opal R. Mikolasek of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, George Sanford and three children in infancy; brothers, Jacob and Howard Boyd; a half brother, Henry Dunaway; sisters, Dessie Grosenaud, Pearl McKenzie, Rose Burris, Grace Robinson; and a half sister, Eva McGowen.

Jesse Lamar Satterlee, formerly of Montgomery County, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 1998, at his son's home in Effingham. He was 88 years old. He was an over the road truck driver and supervisor for an electronic service organization before he retired. He was a 50Ĵyear member and past master of Hillsboro's Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge 51 A.M.&F.M. and a member of the Royal Arch Masonic Lodge 197 of Hillsboro. He was born in Rountree Township of Montgomery County, a son of Arthur and Kathryn Satterlee. He married Loevia Miles in 1933. She died November 5, 1995. Surviving are sons, J. Donald Satterlee of Effingham, Ronald J. Satterlee of Scottsdale, Ariz.; brothers, Kenneth Satterlee of Rosamond, Carl Satterlee of Owaneco, Voris Satterlee of Nokomis; a sister, Virginia Hott of Champaign; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services were held Sunday in Effingham with burial in Arborcrest Cemetery there.

The pastor, Ron Brooker, officiated. Burial was in Gillespie City Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, of which she was a member, or to the American Diabetes Association. Mrs. Sattovia, of Gillespie, died at 5:21 p.m. Friday, May 7, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 81 years old on November 8. She was born in Gillespie, a daughter of Henry and Ella Luken Cordum. She married Adolph Angelo Sattovia on October 5, 1941, in Gillespie. He died November 7, 1983. Surviving are sons, Dr. Kent. R. "Randy" Sattovia and wife Shirley of Litchfield, Carl R. Sattovia and wife Joyce of St. Louis; daughters, Nancy Jensen and husband Bob of Athens, Joyce Tomaw and husband Mark of Springfield; and eight grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Tomaw, Scott and Marc Sattovia, Brian Jensen, Christopher, Sara and Katherine Sattovia. Memorial service for Marceau Sautelet, formerly of Livingston, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Lesicko Funeral Home there with the Rev. Noel Gehm officiating. Mr. Sautelet, of Springfield, died at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 1997, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. He was 84 years old on September 7. He was a coal miner in the Livingston area and also worked various other jobs. He was born in Roseland, Kansas, a son of Henry and Juliette Fauvergue Sautelet. He married Georgette Fauvergue on January 2, 1934, in Edwardsville. They were later divorced. Surviving are a daughter, Cecilia Mae Angeline of Olathe, Colo.; sons, Marceau Sautelet and wife Rosemarie of Arvada, Colo., Dennis Sautelet and wife Janet of Rohnert Park, Calif., Raymond Sautelet of Santa Fe, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A sister, Mary Pernichele of Staunton survived at the time of death but has since died.
