Funeral Mass for centenarian Paula Theresa Schneider, formerly of White City, will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of the Ascension, Mt. Olive, by the Rev. Father Larry Auda. Burial will be in Chapman Cemetery near Mt. Olive. Friends may call on Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive. The family suggests memorials be directed to Chapman Cemetery. Mrs. Schneider died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 26, 1998, in the Lutheran Convalescent Center at Webster Groves, Mo. She was 100 years old on January 25. She worked as a cook at the 66 Terminal before retiring, was a member of the Church of the Ascension and St. Elizabeth's Church in Crestwood, Mo. She was born in Staunton, a daughter of Edward and Ernestine Artelt, and attended White City public schools. She married Martin J. Schneider on March 2, 1915 in White City. He died May 27, 1952. Also preceding in her in death was a son, Melvin E. Schneider. Surviving are a daughter in law, Martha R. Schneider of Webster Grovers; grandchildren, Alan M. Schneider, Karen L. Schneider and Margaret Rosenberg and husband Morris; and great grandchidlren, Chaz and Madison Rosenberg. Services for Paula Theresa Schneider, formerly of the Mt. Olive area, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of the Ascension there. The Rev. Father Larry Anschutz officiated with Ryan and Anthony Obernuefemann as servers. Amy Dragovich was organist. Pam Monke directed the Ascension choir. Pallbearers were Omer Schneider, Harry Schneider, Paul Schneider, Morris Rosenberg, Ed Becker and Maynard Becker. Burial was in Chapman Cemetery. Mrs. Schneider, 100, died Thursday, November 26, in Lutheran Convalescent Center in Webster Groves, Mo.
Schoen, Herbert Albert
Services for Herbert Albert Schoen, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jonathon Kosec officiating. Burial will be in New Douglas Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. Schoen died at 9 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 80 years old on January 14. He had resided in Litchfield since 1981 when he retired from farming in the New Douglas area. He had been a farmer for 34 years. He was an active member in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, serving on the church council and the property committee. He was also a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood, life member of A.T.A. Chapter 314 of Mt. Olive, and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was born in Walshville, a son of Albert and Ann Scholmann Schoen. He married Delores Geneva Kruse on February 7, 1948, in New Douglas. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Arthur Schoen and wife Joan of Mt. Olive, Ralph Schoen and wife Cindy of Peoria; brothers, Victor, Harold, Everett and Albert Jr. Schoen, all of Litchfield; sister, Alma Windau of Staunton; six grandchildren, Timothy, Michael, David, Douglas, Ann and Maureen Schoen and one great granddaughter, Kayela Raeann Schoen. Preceding him in death were his step mother, Anna Everette Schoen; brother, John; a sister in infancy and another sister, Topka Buehnemann. Services for Herbert Albert Schoen, of Litchfield and formerly of New Douglas, was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jonathon Kosec officiated. Burial was in New Douglas Cemetery. Organist Mary Beth Taylor accompanied the congregation as they sang "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were his grandsons, Timothy, Michael and David Schoen of Mt. Olive, Douglas Schoen of Ballwin, Mo., Glen and Scott Rhodes of Springfield. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Following the committal service a meal was provided for family and friends by the women of the church. Mr. Schoen, 80, died Sunday, July 19, in St. Francis Hospital.
Schoen, Emma Jane
Emma Jane Schoen, formerly of Mt. Olive, died December 1, 1998, in Granite City. She was 91 years old on February 27. She was a teacher in the Granite City School District for many years before retiring in 1972 and was active in the Drusilla Andrews Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the genealogical and historical societies of Macoupin, Monroe and St. Clair Counties. She was born in Mt. Olive, a daughter of Winford R. and Kate Bird Hix, and graduated from Mt. Olive High School in 1925. Surviving are a son, James Schoen of Mesa, Ariz.; daughter, Nancy L. Emahiser of Burke, Va.; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Winford, James and Grant Hix and a sister, Bertha Schoen. Services were held in Granite City with burial in Mt. Olive City Cemetery.

Services for William H. Schoeneman, of rural Worden, were held at 11 this morning in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Livingston. The Rev. Maurice Alms officiated. Burial was in Spangle Cemetery south of Staunton. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Holy Cross Church, of which he was a member. Mr. Schoeneman died at 1:10 a.m. Friday, August 21, 1998, in his home. He was 83 years old on February 7. He was a farmer and a lifeŠlong resident of the Worden area. He was born in Olive Township of Madison County, a son of Henry W. and Hermina Meyer Schoeneman. He never married. Schoeneweis, Jesse E.
Services for Jesse Earl Schoeneweis, of Witt, were held Sunday in Bass Funeral Home. The Rev. Gloria Davis officiated. Burial was in Irving Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be directed to Irving United Methodist Church. Mr. Schoeneweis died at 3:20 p.m. Friday, April 16, 1999, in Doctors Hospital, Springfield. He was 89 years old on August 4. He resided in the Irving and Witt areas most of his life and was a retired mechanic. He worked for the Witt school system for 19 years and for Hillsboro Glass for 11 years. He was born in Witt, a son of William and Amelia Mary Beck Schoeneweis. He married Lucille Davis on August 24, 1939, in Taylorville. She died July 7, 1990. They had no children. Surviving are a sister, Argona Denton of Hillsboro and several nieces and nephews, Darlene Mikeska of Taylor Springs, Juanita Titsworth of Florida, Alta Betoche of Donnellson, Harold Grill of Hillsboro, Linda Denton of Hillsboro and Juanita Borgic of Decatur. Preceding him in death were brothers, Herbert and Hartwell Schoeneweis.

Funeral Mass for Annie Schoenherr, former mayor of Carlinville, will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in SS. Simon and Jude Church, Gillespie, by the Rev. Father Larry Auda. Burial will be in New Calvary Cemetery. Miss Schoenherr died Tuesday, October 19, 1999, in Carlinville Hospital. She was 72 years old on March 7. She served as mayor of Carlinville from 1981 to 1989 and was the first woman to hold the position. Before that she worked at Klocke Jewelry, later purchasing the business and operating it as Anne's Jewelry for many years before her retirement in 1990. She was born in Carlinville, a daughter of George and Bernadine Kaufman Schoenherr, and graduated from Carlinville High School in 1945. She was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Church. Surviving is a sister, Margaret Bloomfield of Carlinville. Heinz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty J. Schott, formerly of Hornsby, died Monday, September 21, 1998, in St. Clair Hospital, Alton. She was 73 years old on January 16. She was a resident of Cottage Hills and before that had previously lived in Girard. She was born in Hornsby, a daughter of Haden and Myrtle Casey Lewis. Her husband, Bonnie E. Schott, died in 1988. Surviving are a son, Rick Schott of Cottage Hills; a sister, Frances Conner of Beardstown; and a grandson. Private graveside services were held this morning in Girard Cemetery. Davis Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, was in charge of arrangements.
Schroedel, Walter
Services for Walter Schroedel, of Hillsboro, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Patton Memorial Home with the Rev. Randy Sands, pastor of the Free Methodist Church of Hillsboro, officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Coffeen. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Mr. Schroedel died at 12:45 this morning, Friday, September 17, 1999, in his home. He was 61 years old last November 13. He worked as an operating engineer with Local 520 in Granite City for 32 years. He owned Walt's Watering Hole in Schram City for a time and last June 1, became the owner of Walt's Tavern in Irving. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Donnellson, the Litchfield Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club. He resided most of his life in the Coffeen, Panama and Hillsboro areas. He was a member of the last class to graduate from Coffeen High School in 1955. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1959. He was born in Coffeen, a son of Walter F. and Helen R. Hoover Schroedel. He married Patricia Ann Torbeck on March 13, 1998, in Edwardsville. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Becky Bergin and husband Tim of Coffeen; step daughters, Paula Jorn and husband Dennis, and Amber Casey, all of Hillsboro; and two grandchildren, Katherine and Sarah Bergin of Coffeen. A brother, Robert Schroedel, preceded him in death.

Services for Bernean Anna Schuette, of Mt. Olive, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Zion Lutheran Church there with the Rev. Terry Breum officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today in Becker and Son Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Zion Choir, Mt. Olive Band Boosters or the Mt. Olive Academic Foundation. Mrs. Schuette died at 8:33 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 77 years old on July 19. She helped with the family farm until she retired. She was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church, taking part in the Zion Choir, Dorcas Circle, ELCW, Zion Quilters and also heading the card ministry. She was baptized August 13, 1922 and confirmed April 14, 1935, in the church at Mt. Olive. She attended the Zion Lutheran School. She enjoyed quilting and was a former member of the Mt. Olive Band Boosters. She was born in rural Mt. Olive, a daughter of Charles and Marie "Mamie" Johnson Kruse. She married Carl Walter Schuette on April 28, 1946, in the Zion Lutheran Church of Mt. Olive. He died October 13, 1988. Surviving are a daughter, Alice Tebbe and husband Alan of Mt. Olive; sister, Elaine Kuhlmann and husband Al of St. Louis; grandchildren, Emily, David and Keith Tebbe of Mt. Olive. Others surviving include a sister in law, Wilma Schuette of Mt. Olive. Services for Bernean Anna Schuette, of Mt. Olive, were held at 11 this morning in the Zion Lutheran Church there. The Rev. Terry Breum officiated. Burial was in Mt. Olive City Cemetery. During the service the Zion choir, under the direction of Jim Kuenneth, sang "My God and I" and "In the Garden." The congregation sang "My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less." They were accompanied by organist Elda Prange. At graveside "Amazing Grace" was played on the bagpipes by Jim Leonard. Pallbearers were Warren Hemann, John Adden, Damian Weidler, Walter Friesner Jr., Nelson Bentlage and Rev. Breum. Following the services a lunch was served to family and friends by the women of Zion Lutheran. Mrs. Schuette, 77, died Wednesday, October 20, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Services for Elmer C. Schuette, of Livingston, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lesicko Funeral Home there with the Rev. Bill Kretts officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery at Alhambra. The family suggests memorials be directed to Salem United Church of christ, Salem Cemetery, Livingston Veterans Memorial, Livingston Fire and Rescue or the Olive Fire Protection District. Mr. Schuette died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 25, 1999, in his home. He was 82 years old on April 11, and an Army veteran of World War II. He had resided in Livingston for 45 years and with his wife, Alberta, ran Schuette Feed Grinding in Livingston for 20 years. They retired in 1977. His military service, from 1942 to 1945, took him to France, Belgium and Germany. He achieved the rank of Corporal. He was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, Livingston Senior Citizens and a former member of the John Waijulus American Legion Post 377 in Livingston. He was born in Olive Township in rural Staunton, a son of Louis and Minnie Albrecht Schuette. He married Alberta Rithmann on Septmeber 29, 1955 in the Salem United Church of Christ. She died February 9, 1978. Surviving are brothers, Raymond Schuette and wife Dorothy of Clearwater, Fla., Art Schuette and wife Bev of Wilmington, N.C.; sisters, Esther Weber and husband Bill of Alhambra, Edna Kinnikin of Staunton. Among others surviving is an aunt, Grace Ruehrup of Highland. Among those preceding him in death was his step mother, Alma Ruehrup Schuette.

Olive Ambulance Service or the Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Schuette died at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 1998, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. She was 90 years old on October 3. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, having been baptized there on December 22, 1907 and confirmed on May 8, 1921. She attended the Zion Lutheran School and one year of public school. She was a member of the Martha Circle and the Altar Guild of the church, and she loved flowers and gardening. She was born in Mt. Olive, a daughter of Edward John and Minnie Lowenstein Marburger. She married Aaron Herman Schuette on April 27, 1935, in the Zion Lutheran Church of Mt. Olive. He died September 21, 1993. Surviving are a daughter, Joann Schuette of Mt. Olive; brother, Harold Marburger and wife Ada of Mt. Olive; sisters, Erna Marburger, Esther Culp, both of Mt. Olive and Vera Keiser of Ltichfield. Other survivors include sisters in law, Emma Marburger and Hilda Marburger, both of Mt. Olive. Preceding her in death were brothers, Alfred and Melvin Marburger. Following the services a lunch will be provided for family and friends in the Zion fellowship hall by women of the church. Services for Selma Edna (Sally) Schuette, of Mt. Olive, was held at 11 a.m. today in Zion Lutheran Church there. The Rev. Terry Breum officiated. Burial will be in Mt. Olive City Cemetery. During the service the Zion Lutheran choir sang "Amazing Grace" and the congregation, "How Great Thou Art" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee." Elda Prange was the organist. Pallbearers were Dave Lotter, Chuck Wetzel, Ed Marburger, Mark Frailey, Gary Keiser and Jim Ottel. After the services a lunch was served to family and friends in the fellowship hall at the church by the women of the church. Becker and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Schuetz died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 1999, in Grove General Hospital, Grove, Okla. She was 71 years old on February 22. She was a resident of Gillespie until moving to Southwest City in 1990. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Southwest City. She was a daughter of Ed and Dorothy Ellen Tremaine Williams. Her husband, Richard Schuetz, survives. He resides in Zavalla, Texas. Surviving also are daughters, Brenda Sauerwein and Lisa Narbut, both of Illinois; brothers, Jack Williams of Nilwood, Ted Randall of Laconia, Ind.; sister, Lois Frye of Southwest City; and one grandson, Cody Narbut of Southwest City.

Henrietta A. Schulte, mother of Terrant "Sonny: Schulte of Fillmore died Thursday, October 7, 1999, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was 86 years old on July 12. She was born in Breese, a daughter of John and Anna Albers Ess. She married Lawrence H. Schulte in 1929 in St. Louis; he died in 1989. Surviving are daughters, Patricia Merano of Kincaid, Doris Peel of Edinburg, Ethel Mansfield of Taylorville, Iris Anderson of Bulpitt; another son, Trent Schulte of Kincaid; 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Services were held in St. Rita Catholic Church, Kincaid. Burial was in GlenHaven Memorial Garden, Taylorville.

Mrs. Schunk died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 16, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She would have been 79 years old on April 22. She was a sales clerk and supervisor with F.W. Woolworth and Venture department stores. She was a member of the Litchfield Assembly of God Church. She was born in East St. Louis, a daughter of John and Kate Foster Gillespie. Surviving are a daughter, Cookie Jones and husband Mike of Litchfield; brother, Rev. W.W. Gillespie and wife Mamie of Jacksonville, Ala.; sisters, Alvina Rupe and husband Clinton of Litchfield, Katherine Rendleman and husband Jim of Idaho, Delores Hamner and husband Jack of Pinole, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Zane Jones, Michael Jones Jr., Cody Jones and Ethan Jones. Preceding her in death were brothers, Ralph, Walter and John Gillespie; a sister, Alberta Montgomery; and a grandson, Adam Jones. Schwartz, Sarah
Sarah "Sally" Schwartz, mother of former Hillsboro resident Mary Ann Rademacher, died Friday, October 8, 1999, in Sheridan Medical Complex, Kenosha, Wis. She was 89 years old on February 9. A registered nurse, she worked in both hospitals and in private duty before she retired. She was born in Leeds, England, a daughter of Edgar and Elsie Smith Britton, and came to the United States as a child. She married Dr. Harry L. Schwartz on June 22, 1933. He died October 27, 1987. Surviving are a son, Harry Schwartz Jr. of Kenosha; daughters, Mary Ann Rademacher and husband Dr. Lon Rademacher of Alliance, Neb., Nancy Schwartz - Johnson and husband Dr. Tom Johnson of Dallas, Texas, Elizabeth Schwartz - Stephenson and husband Dr. Gordon Stephenson of Middleton, Wis. Preceding her in death were a son, Gilbert John Schwartz in 1959 and a brother, James Edgar Britton. A memorial service was held this morning in Kenosha.

Services for Walter Schwartz, of Carlinville, were held this morning in Davis - Anderson Funeral Home there. Rabbi Michael Batz officiated. Burial was in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Schwartz died Saturday, June 5, 1999, in Heritage Manor of Carlinville. He was 85 years old on May 18. He was the owner of Schwartz Furniture Company in Carlinville before he retired, and was a member of the Lions Club, former member of Elks Lodge 1412, Chamber of Commerce and Masonic Lodge 76, all in Carlinville. He was born in Collinsville, a son of Ike and Rose Gotler Schwartz. He married Carrie M. Tobnick in 1936; she died in 1980. He later married Norma Seaton in 1981; she survives. Surviving also are children, Judge Dennis L. Schwartz and wife Connie, Kenneth R. Schwartz and wife Carolyn, all of Carlinville; a sister, Louise Crames of Boca Raton, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Scott on June 28, 1952, in Gillespie. He died September 14, 1990. Surviving are a son, Edward Scott and wife Chris of Benld; sisters, Vivian Badornac of Indiana, Barbara Dunn of Bethalto; and grandchildren, Carrie and Brad Scott of Benld. Preceding her in death were brothers, Charles, Walter and Robert Subick and a sister, Margaret Stoye.

Mary Grace Holderread Scribner, formerly of Litchfield, died Tuesday, August 31, 1999, in a Lexington, Ky., hospital. A resident of Versailles, Ky., she was 64 years old. She was a daughter of John and Sylvia Jones Holderread, and graduated in the Litchfield High School Class of 1952. She was office manager for Harthill and Priest Equine Veterinarians, member of the Woodford County Woman's Club and the Woodford Hospital Ladies Auxiliary in Versailles. Surviving are her husband Jay; daughters, Laura Smith of Rochester, N.Y., Elizabeth Quigley of Galveston, Texas, Diane Beaven of Lexington; a sister, Jane Pownall of Decatur; and four grandchildren. Services were held Friday in St. Leo Catholic Church, Versailles with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Versailles.

Services for William H. Scritchfield, of Virden, were held Tuesday in the Lutheran Church ELCA, Farmersville. Burial was in Rovey Cemetery, Farmersville. Mr. Scritchfield died Saturday, April 17, in Friendship Home at Carlinville. He was 86 years old on January 31. He was a general foreman at Fiat Allis Manufacturing Company for 38 years before he retired. He was born in Virden, a son of William H. and Mary Catherine Murphy Scritchfield. He married Frances E. Visser in 1935 in Carlinville. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Mary A. Jordan and husband Alex of Divernon, Carol Jirousek of Auburn, Rhonda D. Emery and husband Lynn of Carlinville; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Bramley Funeral Home in Divernon was in charge of arrangements.

Services for Johanna Seaton, sister of Dorothy Sanders and Leola Alexander of Nokomis, were held Saturday in Vandlia with burial in Glendale Cemetery, Fillmore. Mrs. Seaton died at 11:06 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 1999, in Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia. She was 85 years old on April 5. She was born in Ramsey, a daughter of William and Lillie Craig Bauerle. She married Asa Seaton on April 24, 1938, in Ramsey. He died May 18, 1968. Surviving also are a daughter, Judy Leininger and husband Larry of Vandalia; sons, Joe Seaton and wife Kay of Effingham, Mike Seaton and wife Linda of Fillmore; brother, Newt Bauerle and wife Jessie of Ramsey; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Connie Lee Worker and brothers, Willie and Sheridan "Pouch" Bauerle.

Services for George A. "Sonny" Seelbach, formerly of Farmersville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church there. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hough Memorial Home, Farmersville. Mr. Seelbach, of Springfield, died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 1999, in St. John's Hospital there. He was 83 years old on February 23, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a machinist for Fiat Allis before he retired. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Farmersville, Knights of Columbus in Farmersville, American Legion, also a former commander of the Farmersville - Waggoner post, and the U.A.W. He was born in Raymond, a son of George L. and Marie Todt Seelbach, and attended Raymond High School. He married Mary Frances Herman on October 20, 1951, in Farmersville. He died December 6, 1989. Surviving are sons, Hugh Seelbach and wife Pat of Springfield, Kurt Seelbach and wife Brenda of Edwardsville; daughter, Miss Maggie Seelbach of Springfield; brothers, Francis "Shorty" Seelbach of Raymond, Fabian "Tater" Seelbach of Waggoner, Richard "Dick" Seelbach of Farmersville; sisters, Betty Kincaid of Chatham, Georgia Hobson of Jefferson, Iowa, Sr. Patricia Seelbach of the Sacred Heart Convent, Nancy Lundin of Decatur; and five grandchildren. Preceding him in death were eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral Mass for Gertrude Mary Seelbach, of Farmersville, will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church there by the Rev. Father Allen McIntosh. Burial will be in St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hough Funeral Home, Farmersville. The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Isidore School in Farmersville. Mrs. Seelbach died at 7:54 p.m. Monday, October 11, 1999, in Doctor's Hospital, Springfield. She was 92 years old on October 29. She was a cook at Art's Restaurant in Farmersville for more than 30 years. She was born in Morrisonville, a daughter of Thomas P. and Margaret Quinlan Murphy, and resided most of her life in Farmersville. Her husband, Alvin Leo Seelbach, died before 1946. Surviving are sons, Robert Seelbach of Morrisonville, William and Alvin "Cookie" Seelbach of Farmersville. Preceding her in death sons, Dale Seelbach in October 1985 and Jim Seelbach in September 1996; brothers, Frank, Joseph and Ed Murphy; sisters, Margaret Schlack and Kathryn Baker
Seketa, Nicholas
Services for Nicholas Seketa, of Benld, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Kravanya Funeral Home there with the Rev. Father Larry Auda officiating. Burial will be in Benld City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Prayer service will be held t 7:45 p.m. Mr. Seketa died at 10:23 a.m. Friday, October 16, 1998, in St. Luke's Hospital, Chesterfield, Mo. He was 82 years old on May 3, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a coal miner and also worked for the state of Illinois. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Mt. Olive and the Croatian Federation Union 217 of Benld. He was born in Benld, a son of John and Mary Rauker Seketa. His wife, the former Dorothy Kinichinch, preceded him in death. Surviving are sisters, Frances Goldasich of Granite City, Katherine Spudic of Mt. Olive. Preceding him in death were brothers, John and Thomas Seketa.

Services for Marie Self, of Staunton, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Williamson Funeral Home there with the Rev. Clint Braman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Staunton Memorial Hospital or the Staunton Ambulance Service. Mrs. Self died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 1999, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. She was 90 years old on April 2. She was born in Beardstown, a daughter of Samuel and Mary Dattieo Sansone. She married John O. Self on Novmeber 28, 1926. He died October 2, 1992. Surviving are daughters, Ruth Triplo and husband Donald of Benld, Shirley Kenner and husband Leonard of Staunton, Dolores Kapilla and husband Michael of Highland; 10 grandchilren, 18 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Others surviving include a son in law, Riley J. Best of Livingston. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Patricia Best, two brothers and six sisters.
Sellers, Nina C.
Services for Nina C. Sellers, sister of Bob Mitchell of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville, with the Rev. James Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Raymond. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Sellers died Monday, March 8, 1999, in Meadwo Manor at Taylorville. She was 93 years old on August 14. She was born in Honey Point Township, a daughter of Jess C. and Rosa E. Perrine Mitchell. She married Fred Sellers in 1925, and he died in 1957. Surviving are a son, Frederick Sellers of Taylorville, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Selvo, Victor
Victor "Vic" Selvo, of Mt. Olive, died Monday, December 20, 1999, in Friendship Home, Carlinville. He was 85 years old on February 26, and an Army veteran of World War II. He worked at the Little Dog Coal mine in East Gillespie and in maintenance at the Carlinville post office for more than 30 years. He retired in 1976. He was a member of SS. Mary and Joseph Church, Carlinville, and the Carlinville Traveling Baseball Team. He was born in Gross, Kan., a son of Eugene and Norino Falco Selvo, and graduated from Carlinville High School. He married Christine Yartz in 1944 in Carlinville. She survives. Surviving are sons, Gerry Servo of Venice, Calif., Mike Servo of Weiterstadt, Germany; daughter, Christine Jesse of Columbia, S.C.; brother, Adolph Selvo and wife Mary of Carlinville; 10 grandchildren, a step grandchild and four great grandchildren. Heinz Funeral Home, Carlinville, is in charge of arrangements. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in New Calvary Cemetery.
