John H. Wagener, brother of Lois Kessinger of Hillsboro, died Saturday, August 14, 1999, in San Antonio, Texas. He was 79 years old on March 12, and a veteran of World War II having served in the European Theatre. He was born in Altamont, a son of Ruby Darold and Ruth Wise Wagener. Surviving also are his wife, a son and three daughters, all in Texas; and another son in Fairview Heights. Following cremation inurnment was to take place at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. Memorial service was to be held at a later date.

Masonic rites will be held at 8 p.m. Mr. Waggoner died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 1998, in his home. He was 47 years old on June 8. He was an Air Force veteran, member of Waggoner American Legion Post 701 and Girard Masonic Lodge 171. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Joe L. and Mary Lou Edmundson Waggoner, and graduated from Lincolnwood High School in Raymond. Surviving are his wife, the former Jeanne M. Bowman; daughters DeAnn Waggoner of Champaign, Diane Waggoner at home in Farmersville; his parents, Joe and Mary Lou Waggoner of Litchfield; brother, David L. Waggoner of Waggoner; sister, Karen Kraus of Farmersville; and a grandson, Kyle.

Services for Ellen A. Waggoner, of Waggoner, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hough Memorial Home, Farmersville, with the Rev. Father Alan McIntosh officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Waggoner Centennial building. Mrs. Waggoner died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, September 19, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 73 years old on July 24. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Farmersville, and the Farmersville - Waggoner American Legion Auxiliary. She attended two years of college at Illinois Wesleyan College. She was born in Lincoln, a daughter of Carl and Ellen Maloney Weber. Her husband, H.Q. Waggoner, died in March 1987. Surviving are sons, Mark Waggoner of Bellville, Texas, Scott Waggoner of Waggoner; a daughter, Anne Waggoner of Girard; brother, George Deane Weber of Texas; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were two brothers.

Memorial services for Eugene G. Wagy, brother of Dr. Theodore Wagy of Raymond, were held at 11 this morning in Staab Funeral Home, Springfield. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park. Mr. Wagy, of Springfield, died Tuesday, November 23, 1999, in Memorial Medical Center there. He was 81 years old on March 2, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a mechanical engineer at Fiat Allis for 44 years. He was a member of the Laurel United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 500, Shrine Retiree Club. He also volunteered as a Red Coat for 13 years at Memorial Medical Center. He was born in West Liberty, a son of Ray N. and Ruth Metheny Wagy. He married Jane Gregg in 1942 in St. Louis. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Linda Maurer of Pittsburgh; sons, James Wagy of St. Louis, Richard Wagy of Taylorville; and seven grandchildren.

Miss Walch died at 5:58 this morning, Friday, October 8, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 84 years old last November 12. She was a homemaker, helping to raise her nephew, Richard Walch of Raymond and niece, Deloris Dudas of Illiopolis. She was a member of the Raymond United Methodist Church and the Mizpah Class. She was born in Rountree Township, a daughter of Willie and Emma Engelhart Walch, and never married. Surviving are a brothers, Willis and Lester Walch of Raymond and a sister, Leona Carriker of Raymond along with the niece and nephew. Preceding her in death were four brothers, one sister and a niece and nephew.

Services for Loretta Jane Walch, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church in Litchfield with Gary Allen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Walch died at 5:55 p.m. Monday, April 9, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 82 years old on July 28. She was employed as a machine operator with the Brown Shoe Company in Litchfield for 35 years before retiring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Litchfield, the Fidelitas class and Keenagers of the church, and taught Sunday school for several years. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of Everett and Minnie Saathoff Lowe. She married Purl Frederick Walch on September 12, 1948, in the First Baptist Church of Litchfield. He died August 30, 1974. Surviving are a step son, Kenneth Walch and wife Penny of Litchfield; three grandchildren, Craig A. Walch and wife Billie Jo, Cheryl Bates and husband Ron, and Curtis Walch, all of Litchfield; and five great grandchildren. Services for Loretta Jane Walch, of Litchfield, were held at 11 this morning in the First Baptist Church of Litchfield. Gary Allen, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. During the services Michelle Sweet, organist, accompanied the duet of Sandy Keith and Sharon Wimberly while they sang "In the Garden" and "How Grat Thou Art." Pallbearers were Ron Bates, Dale Bruhn, Jim Haycraft, Lester Lowe, William E. Sielschott, all of Litchfield and Carl Walch, Raymond. Following the committal service a luncheon was provided for the family and friends by the women of the church. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Walch, 82, died Monday, April 19, in St. Francis Hospital.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Harvel, A.A.L., Evangelism board and the Harvel Lutheran Quilters Club. She was born in Walshville, a daughter of August Benjamin and Bessie Kruse. She married Ray Alvie Walch of Morrisonville on March 21, 1947, in Litchfield. He died October 20, 1995. Surviving are a son, Robert A. Walch of Raymond; daughters, CAthy Canada of Knoxville, Tenn., Beverly Walch of Raymond, Debora A. Calcara of Glenarm; brothers, George Kruse of Pawnee, Cristy Kruse of Litchfield, Ervin Kruse of Mt. Olive; sisters, Virginia DuBree of New Douglas, Nellie Steele of White City; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were brothers, Amil Kruse and Halbert Long; a sister, Nancy Stockamp; and one great grandchild.

Walker, Marshall G.
Marshall G. Walker, formerly of Litchfield, died at 10 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 1999, in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. He was 89 years old on August 30, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a resident of Bethany and was retired from the York Division of Borg - Warner Corporation where he worked as a machinist. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church and of American Legion Post 507 for more than 50 years. He was born in Virden, a son of David C. and Mary Bell Clark Walker, and attended schools in Litchfield. He married Helen Frances Tabaka on October 25, 1941, in St. Louis. She survives. Surviving also are sons, David A. Walker and wife Sharon of Decatur, George L. Walker and wife Faye of Morton; daughter, Barbara Phillippo and husband Larry of Fisher, Ind.; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Preceding him in death wre two sisters. Services were held September 15 in Bethany with burial in the Marrowbone Township Cemetery there. McMullin-Young Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Walker died at 10:43 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 1999, in Montgomery Health Care Center, Taylor Springs. She was 74 years old on November 23. She resided in Springfield for many years and worked there for 20 years as a cashier for National Food stores and for 5 years as a cashier for Schnucks. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Springfield. She was born in Virden, a daughter of Clyde, Sr., and Faye Akers Wilson. She married John Walker on April 19, 1950. He died March 15, 1985. Surviving besides the daughter, Nancy Turcher and husband Dennis, are three grandchildren, Staff Sgt. John Dautel with the Air Force in Okinawa, Japan, D.J. and Amber Tincher, both of Donnellson; and one great grandchild. Staab Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mr. Wallace died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 1999, in St. Luke's Hospital, Chesterfield, Mo. He was 59 years old on August 3. He worked for the George Pacific Company in Mt. Olive where he was a cut off operator. He was born in Granite City, a son of Eddie and Mary Ruth Powers Wallace. He married Diana Partridge on February 14, 1973, in Granite City. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Walter Wallace of Vandalia, Jason Wallace of Benld; daughters, Dana Young of Moulton, Iowa, Jody Rost of Gillespie; his mother, Mary Ruth Percy of Granite City; brothers, Gerry Wallace of Cumming, Ga., William L. Percy Jr. of Wilsonville; sisters, Margaret Hileman of DeSoto, Mo., Rosemary Hogue of Granite City; and eight grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Marvin Wallace Jr. and his father, Eddie Wallace.

Burial will be in Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Honey Bend. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mrs. Wallis died at 4:52 p.m. Friday, January 29, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 84 years old on Feb. 19. She worked at P.& Hirsch Department Store in Litchfield for more than 20 years. She moved to Litchfield from Honey Bend in 1973. She was a deaconess of the Barnett Christian Church and a member of the Honey Bend Quilt Club. She was born in Mt. Olive, a daughter of Arthur and Anna Thunhorst Bohlen. She married Earl R. Wallis on July 13, 1940, in St. Louis. He died February 10, 1974. Surviving are daughters, Joann Tabaka of Litchfield, Beverly Jean and husband Dennis of Cambden, Miss., Patty Lynne Bishop and husband Larry of Litchfield; brothers, Clarence Bohlen of Staunton; sisters, Lucille Skinner of Litchfield; four grandchildren, Terry K. Hall of Highland, Trisha Coleman of Jackson, Miss., Michael Tabaka and Craig Walch of Litchfield; and seven great grandchildren, Tiffany Parnell of Highland, Trista Tabaka of Arizona, Craig Walch, Jr., Katie and Kari Walch, Kevin Black and Jaime Hall, all of Litchfield. Funeral services for Frank Adam Walters, of Hillsboro, will be private with Perfetti Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Parkinson Research Center, Greater St. Louis Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association, 660 South Euclid, Box 8111, St. Louis, MO 63110. Mr. Walters died at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 1998, in Hillsboro Hospital. He was 77 years old on January 14, and an Army veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific theater. He taught in the Hillsboro School District for 21 years, with 20 of those years spent at the Junior High. He retired in 1975. He was principal, teacher and coach at the Panama High School for three years before transferring to Hillsboro. He also taught and coached at Hillsboro High School for one year. He attended Eastern Illinois University, earning a bachelor's degree in Education in 1949. He then went on to earn a masters degree in Education from the University of Illinois in 1954. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, National Education Association, Illinois Education Association and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was born in Panama, a son of John and Clara Novak Walters. Surviving are his wife, fthe former Bernice Fuller; children, Janet Smietana and husband Paul of Palatine, Betty Faron and husband Charles of Downers Grove, David Walters and wife Pamela of Springfield; a sister, Helen Hancock of Panama; three grandchildren, Adam, Emily and Sarah Smietana. Preceding him in death were a sister, Clara Brandt and a brother, Edward Walters.

Miss Wankel died at 5:44 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 54 years old on March 31. She was born in Effingham a daughter of Virgil R. and Bessie E. Smith Wankel. Surviving are her mother, Bessie Wankel and a brother, Jim Wankel, both of Jacksonville.
Ward, Grace E.
Services for Grace E. Ward, formerly of Butler, were held today in O'Fallon, Mo., with burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Church of Christ of Springfield, of which she was a member. Mrs. Ward died Friday, August 28, 1998, in Twin Oaks Estates at O'Fallon. She was 88 years old on February 2. She worked for Federal Judge Omer Poos for several years in Springfield before she retired. She was born in Butler, a daughter of Max and Gertrude Hogsett Fromknecht, and was married twice. Her first husband was Arthur Phelps and her second, Louis Ward. Both preceded her in death. Surviving are sons, Ross E. of St. Peters, Mo., Paul C. of Chicago; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Her remains have been donated to Washington University School of Medicine. Miss Wargausky died Wednesday, December 30, 1998, in Carlinville Hospital. She was 89 years old on February 7. born in Ladd, she was a daughter of Anton and Martha Pronskaitis Wargausky.

He was born in Mt. Olive, a son of George and Anna Kocis Wargo, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Preceding him in death were six brothers, Frank, Edward, John, Steve, Joseph and Albert Wargo and three sisters, Ann Brad, Martha Onderisin and Mary Lay.

Mrs. Warmann died at 12:24 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 75 years old last December 14. She was employed as a sales clerk at Dillards in St. Louis before she retired. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Mt. Olive, the Immanuel Quilters and Lydia Circle. She was a former member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in St. Louis. She was born and reared in Palco, Kansas, a daughter of Chriss A. Ida L. Albrecht Wolf. She married Ottmer A.L. Warmann on September 30, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas. He survives. Surviving also are a son, Vincent Warmann and wife Carolyn of St. Louis; daughters, Barbara Henning and husband Jerry, Sandra Vierdag and husband Robert, all of St. Louis; sisters, Rosella Lueker and husband Elmer of Worden, Hilda and LaVera Wolf of Mt. Olive; seven grandchildren, Dawn, Katie, Rachel, Andrew, Joel, Jason and Justin. Preceding her in death was a grandson, Jeffery. Following the services a lunch will be served for family and friends by members of the Lydia Circle in the Immanuel Educational building. Services for Lydia Emma Warmann, of Mt. Ernie Thomack was both organist and soloist. He sang the 23rd Psalm and accompanied the congregation as they sang "Amazing Grace" and "Beautiful Savior." Pallbearers were her sons in law, Jerry Henning and Robert Vierdag; grandsons, Joel Henning and Jason Vierdag; nephew, Elmer Lueker Jr.; and Arlin Duelm. Following the service at the the church a lunch was served to family and friends in the Immanuel Educational building by members of the Lydia Circle. Mrs. Warmann, 75, died Sunday, November 28, in St. Francis Hospital.

The family suggests memorials be directed to the Raymond United Methodist Church. Mrs. Warnsing died at 12:52 this morning, Monday, March 15, 1999, in Hillsboro Health Care Center. She was 95 years old last April 29. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Raymond and was involved with Home Extension over the years. She was a high school graduate and attended nursing school for two years. She was born in Irving, a daughter of Albert and Nellie McHugh White. She married Ross Lamar Warnsing on October 2, 1926, in Rountree Township near Nokomis. He died in 1977. Surviving are sons, Keith Warnsing and wife Irene of Taylorville, Leon Warnsing and wife Martha of Raymond; daughter, Doris June House of Raymond; brothers, William White of Detroit, Mich., Wayne White of Irving; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Norma Braye; brothers, Raymond, Wilbur, Leslie and Ben White; sisters, Gertrude Armstrong, Margie McCulley, Alberta Madge and Bessie Linton. Services for Bertha Mae Warnsing, of Raymond, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Raymond United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kent Lolling officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Grandsons serving as pallbearers were Greg House and Lemar Lipe, both of Witt, Tom Irwin and Scott Roach, both of Raymond, Daniel Warnsing of Taylorville, Mark Warnsing of Divernon, Mitchell Warnsing of Auburn and Randy Warnsing of Sullivan. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Warnsing, 95, died Monday, March 15, in Hillsboro Health Care Center. An addition to her obituary which appeared in Monday's paper is that two grandchildren, Susan R. and Larry D. House, preceded her in death.

She was born in Oates, Mo., a daughter of Orbus and Isabella Meyers Volner. She married Mike Martin in 1931 and he died in 1939. She then married Lige Warren on June 21, 1940, in Patosie, Mo. He died April 8, 1980. Surviving are sons, Vernon Martin of Mulberry Grove, Jim Martin of Gillespie, Darrel Martin of Litchfield, Harold Martin of Lake Park, Ga., Claude Warren of Pittsfield, John Warren of Chesterfield, Ellis Warren of Columbia, Mo.; daughter, Murel Pocklington and husband Warren of Carlinville; sister, Ruby Alexander of Springfield, Mo.; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren. Mrs. Warren, of Edwardsville, died at 10:21 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 1999, in Anderson Hospital at Maryville. She was 58 years old on May 31. She was an amateur artist and had worked as a bookkeeper for McKay Auto Parts and in advertising for the News-Herald. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Litchfield and taught Sunday school there. She was also a member of Lavonne Chapter No. 55 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Cruisin' Classics Car Club of East Alton. She was a 1989 graduate of Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, with a degree in business. She was born in Harco, a daughter of Charles and Emma Griffiths Takacs. She married John Sinclair in February 1961 in the First Baptist Church of Litchfield; he preceded her in death. On September 7, 1984, she married Richard R. Warren in the First Baptist Church of Litchfield; he survives. Surviving also are sons, Charles R. Sinclair and wife Kelly of Litchfield, Paul T. Sinclair and wife Billi of Monticello; step sons, Richard R. Warren Jr. and wife Karla of New Douglas, Robert J. Warren and wife Missy of El Paso, Texas; her mother, Emma Zucchini of Litchfield; a brother, Jerry Takacs and wife Barb of Bloomington; and eight grandchildren. Her father, Charles, preceded her in death. Services for Beverly Ann Warren, formerly of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Plummer Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Revisky, of The Christian Church of Litchfield, officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Musical selections were "In the Garden," "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" and "Because He Lives." Pallbearers were Marion Bonucchi, Gene Dailey, Walter Volentine, all of Edwardsville, John Groves of Atwater, Art Konnecker of Carlinville and Kenny Littrell of Litchfield. Services for Billie C. Warren, of Coffeen, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Patton Memorial Home, Hillsboro, with the Rev. Charles Campbell of Coffeen officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery at Coffeen with military rites conducted at graveside by the VFW Post. Mr. Warren died at 10:01 a.m. Sunday, June 6, 1999, in Montgomery Health Care Center. He was 79 years old on June 8, and an Army veteran of World War II. He resided in Coffeen for the past 20 years having moved there from Detroit, Michigan, where he worked in heat treating in the steel indusry for approximately 30 years. He retired in 1981 as a painter with Ronk Electric in Nokomis. For the past several hears he worked as a school crossing guard in Coffeen. He was born in Barkerville, Tenn., a son of Milton and Annie Choate Warren. He married Kay Thomas in Tennessee after World War II and they were later divorced. He married Lila Snider King on February 14, 1975, in Dearborn, Mich. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Pamela Kellem and husband Randy of Erie, Mich., Paula Hale and husband Donny of Erie, Mich.; sons, Johnny Warren and wife Donna, Jeff Warren, Joe Warren and wife Carol, all of Michigan; step children, Joan Subhan, Linda King, Ed King, Madeline King and Kathy Riddle, all of Michigan; a sister, Loive Warren of Florida; several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Six brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Services for Imogene F. Waters, of Litchfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Meinschein Funeral Home with the Rev. Father David Schmidt, pastor of Holy Family parish, officiating. Burial will be idn St. Patrick's Cemetery, Godfrey. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to Alzheimer's Disease research or the Montgomery County West Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Waters died at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 1999, in Litchfield HealthCare Center. She was 77 years old last August 29. She had worked as a houskeeper at the old Barry Nursing Home in Litchfield and was an avid bingo player. She was born in Walnut Ridge, Ark., a daughter of Marvin and Alta Lorsbach Johnson. Her first marriage, to William Denton, ended in divorce. On January 13, 1962, she married Paul J. Waters. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1977. Surviving are sons, Kevin Denton of Springfield, Kennedy Waters and wife Kathy of Litchfield; daughter, Kim Nowlan and husband Dennis of Chicago; brother, Gale Lorsbach of Apple Valley, Minn.; sister, Barbara Ray of Jerseyville; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Services for Diane E. Watson, formerly of Staunton, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Williamson Funeral Home there with the Rev. Dan Barbey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday in the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Watson died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 1998, in her home in Cottage Hills. She was 54 years old on July 25. She had resided in Cottage Hills for the past 34 years was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church there. She was born in Staunton, a daughter of Remo Raymond and Verneda Meyer Masinelli. She married Vernon Watson on December 27, 1963, in Staunton. He survives. Surviving also are sons, Vernon Scott Watson and wife Bobbie of Alton, Mark Watson of Moro, Cory Watson of Cottage Hills; her mother, Verneda Masinelli of Staunton; sister, Doris Cunningham and husband William Jr. of Litchfield; brothers, Dennis Masinelli and wife Dianne of Staunton, Donald Masinelli and wife Lou Ann of White Hall, Montana. Her father, Remo Raymond Masinelli, preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Rosetta Eilene Watson, of Hillsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bass Funeral Home there with the Rev. Ronald Rhodus officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Eastern Star rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Carlinville Hospice. Mrs. Watson died Monday, September 20, 1999, in her home. She was 76 years old on February 22. She resided in Hillsboro most of her life and worked for the Hillsboro Glass Company for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She was born in Hillsboro, a daughter of Ora and Emily Louisa Paddock Lang. She married Ralph Leroy Watson on July 25, 1941 in Bowling Green , Mo. He died September 16, 1994. Surviving are sons, Leroy Watson and wife Sandy of Charleston, Ronald Watson and wife Connie of Hillsboro; a daughter, Media Criswell and husband Harry of Elkville; sister, Bonita Adams of Topeka, Kan.; three grandchildren, five great grandsons and a great great grandchild. Preceding her in death were 11 siblings.
