Weaver, Hoyt E.

Services for Hoyt E. Weaver, of Sorento, were held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Perfetti Funeral Home, Sorento. The Rev. Linda Peyla officiated. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery. Mr. Weaver died at 3:26 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 1998, in Utlaut Memorial Hospital. He was 57 years old on April 8. He had resided in the local area since 1992, but lived most of his life in northwest Indiana. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Hillsboro Moose Lodge. He was born in Shatfield, Texas, a son of Hoyt and Hazel Garrison Weaver. He married Sharon Bogus on May 16, 1964, in Chicago. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Jeff Weaver and wife Amanda of Colorado; Sheryl Reynolds and husband Mark of Fort Polk, La.; his mother and stepfather, Hazel and Claire Tarr; brothers, Dean and Tom Weaver, both of California; a sister, Jetonne Fugun of Texas; and five grandchildren. His father, Hoyt Weaver, preceded him in death.

Webb, Helen M.

Services for Helen Margaret Webb, of Litchfield, were held at 10 this morning in Meinschein Funeral Home. Father David Schmidt of Holy Family Catholic Parish officiated. Kathy Skinner was the organist. Pallbearers were Dale Weller Jr., Dennis Roach, Lloyd Irvin, Tony Meyer and Ryan Bolar. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Webb died at 6:33 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 1999, in her home. She was 86 years old on August 26. She worked for Brown Show Company for 22 years and also at Roller Derby for 12 years, both in Litchfield. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was born in St. Louis, a daughter of John and Patricia Glowaz Orblish. She married Walter H. Webb on May 5, 1933, in Litchfield. He died November 6, 1981. Surviving are a brother, George Orblish of Litchfield; sisters, Sophie Adams, Regina Weller of Litchfield; three grandchildren, Robert L. Webb and wife Lou of Litchfield, Brian R. Webb and wife Teresa of Butler, Debbie Meyer and husband Tony of Litchfield; and four great grandchildren, Amy and Lindsey Webb of Butler, Justin Webb of Hudson, N.C. and Ryan Webb of Litchfield. Preceding her in death were a son, Richard Lee Webb on May 2, 1998; brothers, John and Joe Orblish; and sisters, Blanche Orblish and Margaret Childers.

Webb, Phyllis A.

Services for Phyllis A. Webb, of Litchfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church of Farmersville with the Revs. Jerry Divjak and Kent Lolling officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery at Raymond. Friends may call in Hough Funeral Home, Raymond, on Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and in the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Farmersville © Waggoner Bike Trail rest stop. Mrs. Webb died at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, August 23, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 62 years old last September 4. She was co owner of Webb Insurance Company and a member of the Waggoner United Methodist Church. She was a 1953 graduate of Farmersville High School. She was born near Farmersville, a daughter of Jesse and Mary Fyffe Dunkel. She married Bruce L. Webb on April 4, 1955, in the Farmersville Methodist Church. He survives. Surviving also are a son, Steven R. Webb of Waggoner; daughters, Barbara Farrar, wife of Ray Durston of Waggoner, Marla J. Hitchings and husband Jim of Waggoner; sisters, Lorrie Farrington of Girard, Rev. Virginia Mackey of Silverthorn, Colorado, Mary Bedinghaus of Waggoner. A brother, Donald, preceded her in death. CORRECTION Among the survivors of Phyllis Webb, of Litchfield, not included in the obituary on Monday were nine grandchildren.

Webb, Ronald Kenneth

Services for Ronald Kenneth Webb, of Bunker Hill, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Plummer Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Osborn, of Livingstones Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday in the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Mr. Webb died at 11:57 a.m. Sunday, February 7, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 61 years old on August 10. He was a veteran serving both with the Army and the Air Force during the Korean Conflcit and in peacetime. He also worked as a cook with an offshore oil rig, before he retired. He was a member of the Livingstones Fellowship. He was born in Alton, a son of Grover Kenneth and Esther Mae Boyd Webb. Surviving are sons, Hiram David Webb of Colton, Calif., Tonny Webb of Upland, Calif.; daughters, Abigail Diane Webb of Marino Valley, Calif., Dee Dee Bautista of Pomona, Calif.; brothers, James Webb of Fruitland, Wash., Daniel Webb of George, Wash., Richard Webb of Cottage Hills, Gary Webb of Hillview, Timothy Webb of Bunker Hill, Gregory Webb of East Alton; sisters, Bonnie Glover of Woodburn, Judy Brimberry of Quincy, Wash.; nine grandchidlren and two great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a brother, Freddy and a sister, Rosemary Webb.

Weber, Dwight O.

Services for the Rev. Dwight O. Weber, of Litchfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church with the Revs. Donald Langhoff and Jonathan Bontke officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery at Steeleville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Meinschein Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School in Evansville, Ill., or KFUO Radio. Rev. Weber died at 11:40 a.m. Monday, October 4, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 68 years old on June 26. He was reared in Harlingen, Texas, and graduated from high school there. After serving in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955, he entered Concorida Theological Seminary in Springfield where he earned a bachelor's degree in ministry. He then attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, earning a master's degree in Sacred Theology. He served pastorates at St. Paul's in Lewistown, Mich., Our Savior's in Hillsboro, St. Paul's in Steeleville, and Immanuel at Campbell Hill. He retired in 1995 and returned to Litchfield. A member of Zion Lutheran Church here, he was also a member of the Men's Club and the Golden Age Club of the church. He was born in Harlingen, Texas, a son of Ortwin and Genevieve Guthrie Weber. He married Evelyn R. Gruber on July 1, 1962, in Litchfield at the Zion Lutheran Church. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Paul Weber and wife Heather of Anna, Eric Weber of St. Louis; daughters, Esther Loeffler and husband Ray of St. Charles, Mo., Joyce Nikkila and husband Eric of New Douglas; brothers, Leonard and Earl Weber of Harlingen; and six grandchildren. Preceding him in death was a sister, Joyce Weber. Services for Rev. Dwight O. Weber, of Litchfield, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Donald Langhoff was the officiant and Rev. Jonathon Bontke, liturgist. A presentation was made on behalf of the Southern Illinois District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod was the president, Herbert C. Mueller. Musical selections were "Lift High the Cross," "Crown Him with Many Crowns" and "For All the Saints." Organist was Ernie Thomack. A luncheon for family and friends was served by the Zion Ladies Aid following the service. Committal service was held at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's Cemetery at Steeleville. Rev. Weber, 68, died Monday, October 4, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Wedekind, Alta A.

Services for Alta A. Wedekind, of Raymond, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Raymond United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kent Lolling officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Hough Funeral Home or from on hour before the service Monday in the church. The family suggests memorials be directed to the church. Mrs. Wedekind died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. She was 92 years old on February 3. She was a member of the Raymond United Methodist Church and a Sunday School teacher there. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women's Organization, past president of WSCS and a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. She was born in Gordonville, Mo., a daughter of August and Anna Grebe Eggimann. She married Lawrence Wedekind on October 31, 1928, in Gordonville, Mo. He died September 26, 1981. Surviving are sons, Robert Wedekind of Litchfield, Gerald Wedekind of Raymond, James Wedekind of Groveland; a brother, Norman Eggimann of Jackson, Mo.; sister, Alice Nussbaum of Jackson, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Walter and Elmer Eggimann and sisters, Ella Blumenberg, Cora Hoffman, Helen Hopper and Alma Gipson.

Weidler, Ruth A.

Services for Ruth Ann Weidler, of Litchfield, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church with the Revs. Donald Langhoff and Jonathan Bontke officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Olive. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p[.m. Wednesday in Plummer Funeral Home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Zion Lutheran Eduational Grant Fund. Mrs. Weidler died at 5:56 p.m. Monday, August 9, 1999, in her home. She was 77 years old on January 17. She and her husband, Floyd, operated Weidler Motor Company in Litchfield and she served as the secretary - treasurer for the business for several years. She also worked for the Mt. Olive Motor Sales for 12 years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Ladies Aid, Tape Ministry, Lutheran Women's Missionary and the Interanational Lutheran Laymen's League. She was born in Mt. Olive, a daughter of Fred and Adella Schultz Ostermann, and graudated from Mt. Olive High Shcool in 1940. She married Floyd F. Weidler on May 31, 1952, in Mt. Olive. He survives. Surviving also are a son, Dale F. Weidler and wife Sandy of Litchfield; daughter, Diane Hunsley and husband Mark A. of Lincoln; two grandsons, Bryce and Brent Hunsley. Services for Ruth Anna Weidler, of Litchfield, were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church. The Revs. Donald Langhoff and Jonathan Bontke officiated. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Olive. Keith Marburger, organist, accompanied the congregation as they sang "How Great Thou Art," "Be Still, My Soul" and "Abide with Me." Pallbearers were Mark Anderson, Ron Buehrer, Ed Helgen, Herman Helgen, Olind McPherson and Roy Niemann. Following the services a lunch was provided for family and friends by the Zion Ladies Aid. Mrs. Weidler, 77, died Monday, August 9, in her home.

Weitekamp, Howard F.

Services for Howard Francis Weitekamp, formerly of Raymond, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Christ the King Church, Springfield, with the Rev. David Lantz officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery, Farmersville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 South Koke Mill road, Springfield. Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Mr. Weitekamp died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 1999, in his Springfield home. He was 69 years old on May 6. He was owner of Refrigeration Distributing Company before he retired. He was a graduate of Waggoner High School and Bailey Technical School. He was born in Raymond, a son of Leo and Lucille Berger Weitekamp. He married Barbara Limes on September 30, 1950. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Rick Weitekamp of Springfield, William Weitekamp of Clinton, Dennis Weitekamp of Rochester; daughters, Judith Velez of Ozark, Mo., Brenda Rolle of Peoria, Susan Weitekamp of Springfield, Margaret Weitekamp of Dallas; brothers, Al Weitekamp of Wisconsin, Ray Weitekamp of Arizona, Roy Weitekamp of Raymond; sisters, Marian Walber of Wisconsin, Loretta Boone of Springfield, Lorraine Flanagan of California; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Following the committal service in Farmersville, a luncheon for family and friends will be served in the Knights of Columbus Hall there.

Weir, William (Scotty)

Services for William "Scotty" Weir, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Christian Church of Litchfield with Steve Revisky, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Meinschein Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the building fund of the church. Mr. Weir died Tuesday, September 29, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 80 years old on May 16, and an Army veteran of World War II. He worked at Roller Derby and Echlin in Litchfield before he retired. Prior to that he worked for Brown Shoe Company for 27 years. During the war his overseas service was in Italy. He was a member of the Christian Church of Litchfield and an active member of Calico Twirlers Dance Club. He was born in Granite City, a son of William and Mary Elizabeth Smith Weir. He married Wilma Neoma File on April 25, 1943, in the Union Avenue Christian Church of Litchfield. She survives. Surviving also are sons, Joseph Scott Weir and wife Linda of Dallas, Texas, Robert George Weir and wife Laura of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Sharon Lynn Williams and husband Larry of Allegan, Mich.; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Tinsman and husband Allen of Litchfield; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Tonya Joyce Jacobs; brother, Marvin Allen Weir; sisters, Mildred Leath Brown and Frances Thompson. Services for William "Scotty" Weir, of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Christian Church of Litchfield. Steve Revisky, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Two of his grandchildren played a part in the services. Patricia Williams performed the trumpet solos "These Hands" and "How Great Thou Art." At graveside she played "Taps" while Tyler Weir, a Boy Scout, stood at attention. Kathleen Chandler led the congregation in singing "Does Jesus Care." Gail Felts was the pianist. Pallbearers were Larry Tucker, Charles Brown, Loyd Nail, Bill Matthis, Bob Smith and Steve Miller. Mr. Weir, 80, died Tuesday, September 29, in St. Francis Hospital.

Weisbaum, Dr. M. Byron

Memorial service for Dr. M. Byron Weisbaum, who had a home at Lake Lou Yaeger for a time, will be held at noon Tuesday, August 18, in Temple B'rith Shalom, Springfield. Boardman © Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Dr. Weisbaum died Monday, August 10, 1998, in his Springfield home. He was 87 years old. He specialized in medical and surgical ophthalmology until his retirement in 1988, and held membership in many medical societies. He was a past president of the Illinois Society of Ophthalmology, founding director of the Hope School for the Blind and served as its president from 1961 to 1972, member of Rotary International for 38 years. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois School of Medicine and took his specialty training at the University of Tennessee. He had resided in Springfield since 1925, but also had a home in the Lake Lou Yaeger vicinity. His property at the lake flanked a road used by leaseholders to get to campsites along the lakeshore. He attempted to block the road with a heavy cable and trees until the leaseholders, some 56 of them, sought and won an injunction in Montgomery County Circuit Court in July 1979. He was born in Chicago, a son of David and Hattie Weisbaum. His wife, the former Marilyn Rossiter, preceded him in death. Surviving are sons, David and Jon Weisbaum and daughters, Lindy Seltzer and Marty Brunner; a sister, Dorys Berg; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Welborn, Beatrice P.

Services for Beatrice P. Welborn, of Staunton, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Williamson Funeral Home there with the Rev. Thurman Parish officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Community Memorial Hospital Foundation, Staunton, or the R.L.D.S. Church in Sawyerville. Mrs. Welborn died at 11:17 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 1998, in Heritage Manor of Staunton. She was 91 years old on March 14. She was born in Grandon, Mo., a daughter of James and Mae Nance Sharp. She married Holbert Welborn on July 26, 1925, in Madison. He died June 5, 1985. Surviving are a son, Daniel Welborn of Staunton; a daughter, Donna Hesson of Killeen, Texas; a sister, Atlas Langston of South Venice, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Preceding her in death were a son, Gene Welborn; a brother, Everett Sharp; and a grandson, David Welborn.

Welch, Gladys P.

Services for Gladys P. Welch, of Gillespie, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Kravanya Funeral Home there. Burial will be in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Mrs. Welch died at 9:03 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 90 years old on September 25. She worked in the Records department of Blue Cross and Blue Shield in St. Louis before she retired, and was a member of the Blue Cross - Blue Shield Retiree Club. She was born in Brushy Mound Township near Carlinville, a daughter of John and Emma Gimlin Perrine. Her first marriage was to Ross Anderson. She married Harold G. Welch on January 19, 1973, in Carlinville. He died March 15, 1992. Surviving are daughters, Eveline Ferguson Calame and husband Tracy of Godfrey, Jacqueline Rideout and husband Donald of Swansea; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Ted and Bill Perrine and sisters, Leta Trotter and Goldie Novak.

Welch, Walter

Services for centenarian Walter Welch, of Worden, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Williamson Funeral Home there with the Rev. Clark Schwappach officiating. Burial will be in Worden City Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Welch died at 2:15 p.m. Monday, December 13, 1999, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland. He was 101 years old on November 14. He farmed all of his life and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Worden. He was born in Worden, a son of Otis and Mary Unger Welch. Surviving is a brother, Leroy Welch of Staunton. Preceding him in death were two sisters and two brothers.

Welge, Lola B.

Services for Lola B. Welge, of Raymond, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Plummer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery at Raymond. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Raymond - Harvel Ambulance Service. Mrs. Welge died at 9:35 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 1999, in Hillsboro Health Care Center. She was 98 years old last February 15. She was a member of the Waggoner Christian Church, Royal Neighbors and the Auxiliary of American Legion Post 701 of Waggoner. She was born in Jackson, Tennessee, a daughter of Henry and Ova Porter Norton. She married Earl Joseph Welge on November 17, 1917, in Alton. He died April 4, 1979. Surviving are sons, Clarence Welge and wife Ruth of Raymond, Robert Welge of Farmersville; daughters, Marcella Woods, Dorothy Roach and husband Fred, all of Raymond, and Frances Waldeck of Farmersville; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a sister, Grace Norton; a granddaughter, Robin Welge and grandsons, Jeremy and Jason Wills. Services for Lola B. Welge, of Raymond, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Plummer Funeral Home. Rev. Kent Lolling, pastor of the Raymond United Methodist Church, officiated. Elaine Walch was the organist. Pallbearers were Charlie Hobson, Kevin and Jason Waldeck, all of Farmersville, Chris Roach of Raymond, Jason Tyszko of Hillsboro and Matt Waldeck of Harvel. Burial was in Asbury Cemetery, Raymond. Following the committal service a meal was provided for the family and friends by the women of the Raymond United Methodist Church. Mrs. Welge, 98, died Sunday, January 17, in Hillsboro Health Care Center.

Welge, Wayne Willis

Memorial service for Wayne Willis Welge, formerly of Hillsboro, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Oak Grove Cemetery. His cremains will be interred in the Welge family plot by his daughter, Elizabeth R. Welge and granddaughter, Alice Hussey, both of San Diego, Calif. Mr. Welge, of Santa Monica, Calif., died October 31, 1997, in Encinitas, Calif. He was 71 years old the previous January 23. Before he retired, he was employed as a civil engineer. He was born in Hillsboro, the youngest child of Frederick William and Elzia Mae Hendricks Welge, and was the last surviving sibling.

Weller, Marie L.

Services for Marie L. Weller, formerly of Raymond, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hough Funeral Home there with the Rev. Clifford officiating. Burial will be in Raymond City Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday in the funeral home from noon until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Marie Weller Memorial Fund at the Mt. Pulaski Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Weller, who resided with her son in Irvine, Calif., died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, August 22, 1999, in Irvine Medical Center. She was 96 years old on April 2. She attended the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago from 1923 to 1927, and taught music and grade school for eight years in Lutheran schools in Chicago. She was born in Rao Con Dos Valles, Brazil, a daughter of the Rev. Henry and Sophie Schroeder Wittrock, and was reared in Brazil and Argentina where her father was a missionary. She married Roy Reiner Wempen on August 22, 1930, in Raymond. He died May 14, 1969. Later, on June 9, 1972, she married Euceil Weller. He died December 8, 1980. Surviving are a son, Ronald Reiner Wempen of Irvine; daughter, Eleonora Estelle Ramthun of Brookfield, Wis.; step daughter, Sonja LaForge of Lincoln; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were four brothers and three sisters.

Services for Nancy Jo Weller, of Raymond, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Plummer Funeral Home, Litchfield, with the Rev. David Moreland of Jacksonville officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery at Raymond. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Montgomery West Chapter of the American Cancer Society or the Raymond - Harvel Ambulance Center. Mrs. Weller died at 11:48 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. She was 56 years old on December 23. She worked in sales with the Furniture Doctor and Antique Mall in Litchfield and enjoyed collecting antiques and other collectibles. She also enjoyed going to flea markets and auction sales and doing crafts. She was born in Raymond, a daughter of Raymond and Freda Burner Meritt. She married Donald Lee Weller on June 5, 1993, in Raymond. He survives. Surviving also are sons, Kenneth Hooper and wife Linda of Anderson, Ind., Jackie J. Martin of New Port Richey, Fla.; step son, Randy Martin of Phoenix, Ariz.; step daughters, Renee Wood and husband Alan of Carmel, Ind., Beth Smith and husband Todd of Indianapolis, Ind., Shelley Henderson and husband Brian of Salem; brothers, Jimmy Meritt of Raymond, Kenneth and Jackie Meritt of Fairfield; and 10 grandchildren. Mrs. Weller, 56, died Wednesday, March 3, in Hillsboro Hospital.

Weller, Tim Dennis

Services for Tim Dennis Weller, of Litchfield, will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home with Brother Ed Diveley, pastor of the Southside Church in Litchfield, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Weller Family Trust. Mr. Weller died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 40 years old last August 20. His heart valves were donated to three recipients as a result of organ donation. He worked for Rovey's Landscaping and Lawn Service and previously worked for International Paper Company and Consumer Plastics, all in Litchfield. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and Litchfield Moose Lodge 1634. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Richard Duane and Marilyn Lucille Hoog Weller, and graduated from Litchfield High School in the class of 1976. He married Mary Jane Jarman on February 24, 1979, in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. They were later divorced. Surviving are his daughters, Amanda S. Weller, Stephanie Weller and Emily Weller, all of Litchfield; his parents, Richard and Marilyn Weller of Litchfield; a brother, Sam Weller and wife Patricia of Litchfield; a sister, Susan Gipson and husband Darold of Litchfield. Others surviving include nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Andrea and Brian Weller, Mallory and Nicholas Gipson. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Chester and Mary Weller and Vincent and Velma Lee Hoog. Services for Tim Dennis Weller, of Litchfield, were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home. Bro. Ed Diveley, pastor of Southside Church, officiated. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Musical selections for the service were "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton, also "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." Pallbearers were Dennis Lewey, Jim Zuber, both of Hillsboro, Jason Long, Sterling Painter, Jim Stitt, Dennis Wendell, all of Litchfield. Honorary pallbearers were Don Angle, Dick Weiss, both of Litchfield, Dan Hoog of Livingston, Ed Hoog of Staunton. Following the committal service a meal was provided for the family and friends by the Women of the Moose. Mr. Weller, 40, died Saturday, March 27, in St. John's Hospital.

Wells, Cleo L.

Services for Cleo L. Wells, of Farmersville, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church there with the Rev. Jerry Divjak officiating. Full military rites will be accorded at graveside in Rovey Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday in Hough Memorial Home at Farmersville from 1 to 4 p.m., or Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to Alzheimers or the Farmersville United Methodist Church. Mr. Wells died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 1999, in Hillsboro Health Care Center. He was 85 years old on February 8, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a farmer until he retired in 1980, and a member of the United Methodist Church of Farmersville. He was born in Bond County, a son of Emery M. and Mable C. Hirsch Wells. He married Mary Lou Agnew on July 26, 1938, in Sycamore. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Deborah Wells of St. Louis and a sister, Lozella Netzley of Naperville. Preceding him in death was a brother, Albert E. Wells.

Wells, Effie R.

Services for Effie R. Wells, formerly of Benld, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Kravanya Funeral Home there with the Rev. Nelson Reiber officiating. Burial will be in Benld City Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday in the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the VNA Hospice, 3122 Brettwood Circle, Decatur, IL 62526. Mrs. Wells died at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 1999, in Heritage Manor of Mt. Zion. She was 81 years old on April 24. She was a beautician, last working in Stonington before she retired. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Royal Neighbors. She was born in Benld, a daughter of Michael and Emma Soukup Scire, and graduated from Benld High School. She married Forrest E. Wells on August 5, 1944, in Benld. Surviving are her husband, Forrest Wells in Decatur; a son, Michael Wells and wife Sally of Mt. Zion; a daughter, Pamela Long and husband Robert of Mt. Zion; a sister, Lillian Gillette of Benld; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Chester and Louis Scire.

Wells, Virginia

Virginia Wells, formerly of Morrisonville, died June 28, 1998, in the Hospice House at Santa Barbara, Calif. She was 76 years old on June 1. She owned and operated Virginia's Cafe in Morrisonville for more than 20 years, beginning in 1952. She later operated a dress shop, The House of Fashion for more than 15 years. In 1995, she moved to Goleta, Calif., to be with her family. She was born on the family farm in Audubon Township, the last child of H.J. "Ben" and Mabel Pray Graden. She married Robert H. Stewart in June 1939. He died in January 1973. Her second husband, Dale Wells, also preceded her in death, in November 1991. Surviving are sons, Allen and Wayne Stewart of Goleta, Calif.; sister, Lucile Morgan of Hamburg, New York; six grandchildren and six great grandsons. A brother, Gilbert Graden, died in November 1994.

Welsh, Norma Roe

Services for Norma Roe Welsh, formerly of Coffeen, will be held at a later date at graveside in Green hill Cemetery at Van Burensburg. The remains were cremated. Mrs. Welsh died Wednesday, November 25, 1998, in St. Claire Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. She was 71 years old on June 26. She was a 1945 graduate of Coffeen High School. She was born in Fayette County, a daughter of Henry and Irma Roe, and married John Welsh in 1951, in St. Louis. He survives. Surviving also are daughters, Sandi Bordick of Delaware, Ohio, Donna Taylor of Pittsburgh, Debbie Moore of Versailles, Ky., Patti Krizman of Apollo Beach, Fla.; sisters, Doris Roe of Springfield, Wanda Ricci of Atlantic Beach, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

Wendel, August J.

Services for August J. Wendel, of rural Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Meinschein Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Langhoff, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Crabtree Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. Wendel died at 9:06 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 1999, in his home in rural Litchfield. He was 84 years old on November 30. He worked in the maintenance department at St. Francis Hospital before he retired. In his early years he worked for the Litchfield Creamery, American Radiator in Litchfield, Allis - Chalmers in Springfield, Wabash Railroad, Hillsboro Foundry, Brown Show Company and for Darrell Savage at Litchfield Sanitation. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Litchfield and a past Moose member. He was born in Coal City, a son of August and Nelli J. Brown Wendel. He married Velma Pearl Quinn on June 10, 1936, in Litchfield. She survives. Surviving also are sons, August John Wendel and wife Betty of Litchfield, Richard Wendel and wife Linda of Litchfield; daughters, Marjorie Ann Ellinger and husband Harold of Litchfield, Sarah Jo Lucykow of Litchfield, Janet Sue Gelsinger and husband Ron of Litchfield; 20 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a brother, Thomas L. Wendell; sister, Mary Jett; grandson, Richard Wendel; and two great grandchildren, Leigh Logsdon and Justin Flack. Services for August John Wendel, of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Meinschein Funeral Home. The Revs. Donald Langhoff and Jonathan Bontke of Zion Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was in Crabtree Cemetery. Musical selections were "Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden." Paul Hampton was the vocalist and Michelle Sweet, the organist. Pallbearers were Ronnie Gelsinger, Dennis Wendel, Harold Ellinger, Bill Ellinger, Donnie Settles, Keith Cadmus. Honorary pallbearers were Doug Pezold, Craig Walch, Earl Flack and Mark Brazel. Mr. Wendel, 84, died Saturday, October 16, in his home. His wife, the former Velma Pearl Guinn, survives in rural Litchfield.

Wendel, Jr., Richard W.

Services for Richard W. Wendel, Jr., formerly of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Meinschein Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Langhoff, pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church of Litchfield officiating. Burial will be in Crabtree Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Wendel died at 9:20 p.m. Friday, May 21, 1999, in Snyder's Vaughn-Haven at Rushville. He was 28 years old on October 30. He worked for sanitation services and also through Labor Local 85 of Litchfield. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Litchfield. An outgoing person, he enjoyed dancing, riding dirt bikes and swimming. He had played Little League baseball. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Richard W. Sr., and Linda Martincic Wendel. Surviving are a son, Richard W. Wendel III of East Alton; daughter, Ashley Davis of Litchfield; his parents, of Litchfield; sisters, Tammy Green of Litchfield, Tricia Cadmus and husband Keith of Sawyerville, Billie Jo Walch and husband Craig of Raymond; and paternal grandparents, August J. and Velma P. Wendel of Litchfield. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Frank and Emma Martincic. Services for Richard Wendel, Jr., formerly of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Meinschein Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Langhoff, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church of Litchfield, officiated. Burial was in Crabtree Cemetery. Music included solos by Paul Hampton of "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace" and by Linda Large of "If You Could But See Me Now." Michelle Sweet was the organist. Pallbearers were Frank Martincic, Dennis Wendel, Bill Ellinger, Todd DeWitt, Donnie Settles and Alan Logsdon. Mr. Wendel, 28, died Friday, May 21, in Rushville.
