Services for Clara Florence Wiegand, formerly of Harvel, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church of East Alton. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park at Godfrey. Mrs. Wiegand, of East Alton, died Sunday, December 12, 1999, in Bethalto Care Center. She was 92 years old on May 21. She was a liftime volunteer with the Red Cross. She was born in Harvel, a daughter of Christopher and Clara Johndrow Hendricks. She married William Franklin Wiegand in 1928 in Shipman; he died in 1996. Surviving are a son, Richard A. Wiegand of Brighton; daughter, Jean M. Zoelzer of Springfield; brother, Herbert Hendricks of Belleville; sisters, Helen Archer of Shipman, Kathryn Niederkorn of Alton, Lucille Burris - Aubin of Wood River; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
Wiese, Donna J.
Donna J. "Jean" Wiese, sister of Judy Watson of Raymond, died Wednesday, November 1, 1999, in the Good Samaritan Home, St. Louis. She was 68 years old on March 15. She was a registered nurse, having graduated in 1952 from Washington University School of Nursing in St. Louis. She worked at hospitals in Springfield, Jacksonville and Highland and in 1976 became the head nurse of the trauma center and emergency departments at Oliver C. Anderson Hospital in Maryville. She retired in 1989. She was active in Boy Scouting, serving as den mother and as vice president of the Cahokia Mounds Council. She received the Silver Beaver in Scouting award. She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a daughter of Marion Hanson "Bill" and Wilma Elizabeth Fengel Williams. She married E.H. "Bud" Wiese Jr. on September 1, 1954. He died January 10, 1986. Surviving besides her sister are sons, Kevin A. Wiese of Troy, Kirby L. Wiese of St. Louis; brother, Robert J. "Jack" Williams of St. Joseph and four grandchildren. Services were held in Highland with burial in Highland City Cemetery.
Wilcher, Ric Gregory
Services for Ric Gregory Wilcher, of Litchfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Plummer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Kinder Cemetery at Hornsby. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the American Liver Foundation or the Shriners Foundation. Mr. Wilcher was pronounced dead at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 1999, in his home. He was 47 years old on November 30, and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed as an iron worker in the construction industry, and was a member of the Iron Workers Local 111 at Rock Island and Local 371 in San Fancisco, Calif. He was also a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge 51, A.F.&A.M., Springfield Valley Scottish Rite, St. Omar Commandry in Litchfield, Ansar Shrine in Springfield, VFW Post 3912 of Litchfield and the Disabled American Veterans. He ws born in Davenport, Iowa, a son of Ted and Carolyn Williams Wilcher. He married Diane Lynn Shipley on August 20, 1995, in the Living Stones Fellowship, Litchfield. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Brittney Wilcher of Litchfield; sons, Ric Wilcher, Jr., and Jacob Wilcher of Davenport, Iowa; his father, Ted Wilcher of Davenport; brother, Mike Wilcher of Davenport; sister, Jennifer Wilcher of Davenport. Preceding him in death were his mother, Carolyn and a brother, Jon Willeys. Funeral services for Ric Gregory Wilcher, of Litchfield, were held this morning at 10 in Plummer Funeral Home. Rev. Father David Schmidt, pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church, officiated. Musical selection was "Feel Like Going Home." Pallbearers were Ivan Dozier, Rick Gibson, Terry Richmond, Mark Shipley, Mike Wilcher and Ric Wilcher, Jr. Burial was in Kinder Cemetery at Hornsby with full military rites held at graveside by VFW Post 3912 and American Legion Post 436. Dennis Lewey, commander of the VFW post, presented the flag to Mrs. Diane Shipley - Wilcher. "Taps" was played. Following the committal service a meal was provided for the family and friends by the VFW women's auxiliary. Mr. Wilcher, 47, died Wednesday, February 10 in his home.

Abby A. Bauer-Wild, daughter of Helen Bauer of Gillespie, died Thursday, September 30, 1999, in Carlinville. She was 33 years old on November 14. She worked as an independent medical records consultant in Illinois and Missouri. She was a graduate of Gillespie High School and Illinois State University, Normal. She was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Church, Gillespie. She was born in Carlinville, a daughter of Paul Lewis and Helen Rueter Bauer. She married Scott Wild in 1994 in Las Vegas. He survives. Surviving also are two step daughters, Susann and Renee Wild of Carlinville; sisters, Tracy Bauer and Amy Crowe, both of Chicago, Cecie Coyne of Glen Ellyn; brothers, Stephen Bauer of Gulf Port, Miss., Albert Bauer of Bloomington. Services were held Saturday in Carlinville with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gillespie.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Tine Cemetery. Mrs. Wilder, of Lake City, Ga., died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, August 17, 1998, in South Fulton Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. She was 88 years old on February 17. She was born in Plainview. Her parents names were not available. Her husband, Elmor C. Wilder, died September 17, 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Loretta L. Roe of Lake City; five grandchildren, Tommy Roe of Stockbridge, Ga., Bruce Scheller of Collinsville, Brian Scheller, Beverly Voss and Susan Schwandner, all of Mt. Olive; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Others surviving include a niece, Juanita Jarden of Litchfield and a nephew, Glen Suhling of Florida. Preceding her in death were a brother, James Smith; grandson, Donald K. Scheller and great grandson, Christopher Scheller.

Graveside service for Grace Wilhelm, of Butler, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Camp Butler National Cemetery with the Rev. James Howie officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. in Hough & Sons Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Mrs. Wilhelm died at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. She was 88 years old on June 19. She worked as a cook in various schools, including the Springfield and Butler schools. She was a member of Butler Union Church. She was born in rural Butler, a daughter of Harry and Emma Sattgast Wikoff. She married Roscoe Wilhelm in January 1994. He died December 17, 1979. Surviving is a daughter, Wilma Berkel of Butler. Preceding her in death were a son, Lee Wilhelm in 1993; a brother, Wilbur Wikoff; and a sister, Marion Behl.

Mr. Williams died at 2:08 this morning, Thursday, August 20, 1998, in Hillsboro Hospital. He was 77 years old on October 6, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a trouble shooter for Hillsboro Glass company before he retired in 1980, and a lifelong resident of Schram City. He was a life member of VFW Post 1306. He ws born in Schram City, a son of Thomas Williams and Frances E. Copples Williams Cryer. He married Betty J. Allman on September 20, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. Surviving also is a brother, Kenneth Williams of Hillsboro. Other survivors include nephews, Mark Williams of Washington, Mike Allman of Missouri, Art Ebeling of Glenarm and nieces, Nancy Bickel of Florida, Cindy Knuch of Butler and Kim Hodges of Hillsboro.

John E. Williams, of Staunton, died Monday, August 10, 1998, in Heritage Manor of Staunton. He was 80 years old on December 5. He worked for the Illinois Terminal Railroad before he retired in 1982, and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He was born in Gillespie, a son of Edward and Maude Jones Williams. He married Elaine Alberico in 1938 in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. Surviving also are daughters, Pat Hughes and husband Bud, Carol Finnegan and husband Bill, all of Staunton, Pam Delsignore and husband Joe of Belleville; a son, John Williams of Decatur; sisters, Mae Berg of Staunton, Josephine Huff of Raymond, Susan DeForest of Fairview Heights; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. No services are planned at this time. The remains have been donated to Washington University School of Medicine. Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Curran Township, a daughter of Oscar and Edith Smith Brawner. She married William "Bill" Williamson in 1929 in Springfield. He died in 1972. Surviving, besides son Harold and his wife Edith, are a daughter, Ann Walden and husband Stanley of Girard, 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and great great grandchild. A son, William "Ed" Williamson, preceded her in death.

He was 81 years old on April 28, and an Army veteran of World War II having served in the infantry from 1943 to 1945. He was a construction worker for more than 50 years and a member of Union Labor Local 338. He resided for most of his lifetime in Panama, was a member of the Panama Methodist Church, the VFW of Panama and the Panama Volunteer Fire Department. He was born in Green ville, a son of William and Ruth Wall Willman. He married Audrey Keith on March 27, 1937, in Panama. She died June 22, 1989. Surviving are sons, William Willman and wife Betty of Pawnee, Kenneth Willman and wife Belva, Roger Willman and wife Cindy, all of Panama; daughters, Shelby Motycka and husband Jerry of Panama, Carole Barricklow and husband Paul of Hillsboro; brothers, Arnold and Darrell McGill of Panama, John McGill of Pocahontas, Robert McGill of Taylor Springs, Allen McGill of Coffeen, Ralph McGill of Fenton, Mo.; sisters, Burnetta Redfearn and Betty Malisia, both of Panama; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a sister, Arvada Hanus and brothers, Gerald O. Willman and in infancy, Kenny.

Mrs. Willman, of rural Pocahontas, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 1999, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was 83 years old on January 27. She owned and operated the H&R Block franchise in Green ville for almost 20 years, having purchased the business in the late 1960s. Prior to that she taught in country schools. She was a 1934 graduate of Green ville High School and attended Green ville College. She was born in Bond County, a daughter of Charles and Dorcas Foulon McLean. Her first husband, Charles Edwin Towell, died in 1940. She married Everett Willman on January 27, 1945 in the St. Lawrence parsonage. He died January 3, 1992. Surviving are sons, Charles Towell, William Willman, Max Willman, all of Green ville; daughter, Susie McPhail and husband Raymond of Hillsboro; brothers, William McLean of South Bend, Ind., Charles McLean of Morgantown, Ky.; sisters, Amy Warnecke of Trenton, Sarah Melville of Menifee, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Preceding her death were brothers, Robert and Buck "Forrest" McLean.

He was 70 years old on January 2, and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was owner of Willis TV and Appliances in Gillespie before he retired. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Gillespie, Amvets of Mt. Olive, AARP of Benld, and a former member of the Moose and the Elks Lodges in Carlinville. He was born in Gillespie, a son of Wlmer and Iola Hoffman Willis. His wife, the former Annette Graham, survives. Surviving also are sons, Steven Willis of Alton, Larry Willis and wife Susan of St. Charles, Mo.; daughter, Kathy Wiltshire and husband Wayne of Plainview; and his mother, Iola Willis Pratt of Gillespie.

Her husband, Thomas Wilson, died May 5, 1978. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Harter of Wood River; sister, Shirley White of Spring Hill, Fla.; grandson, Michael Harter of Wood River. Other survivors include a sister in law, Anna Belle Combs of Sawyerville. Preceding her in death were five brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Wilson died Friday, April 23, 1999, in her home in Springfield. She was 64 years old on January 17. She was born in Springfield, a daughter of Obra Benjamin and Harriet Isabell DuPont Black. Her husband, John C. Wilson Sr., survives. Surviving also are daughters, Vickie Wilson, Susan Miloncus, both of Springfield, Sonnie Heinrichs of Green view; another son, John C. He married Charlotte Broderick on October 3, 1987, in Springfield. She survives. George L. Wilson, a former teacher at Carlinville High School, died Saturday, August 1, 1998, in St. John's Hospital. He was 61 years old on October 31. Mr. Wilson resided in Springfield and was coŠowner and operator of Wilson's Welding Shop. He also taught welding, machine shop and drafting at Capital Area Vocational Center. born in Springfield, he was a son of George K. and Lucille L. Doolin Wilson. He married Darla Jane Rudolph on March 5, 1975. She survives. Surviving also are two daughters, three sons and five grandchildren, none from the local area. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Staab Funeral Home, Springfield. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Hillsboro, Shoal Creek Fox Hunters Assocaition and was a Gideon Bible representative. He was born in St. Louis, a son of Alfred W. and Eliza Kahl Wilson. He married Nina A. Axley on October 23, 1937, in St. Louis. She died November 16, 1986. He then married Lucille Gilbert Campbell on May 7, 1994, in rural Litchfield. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Rev. Bradley Wilson and wife Vicki of Commerce, Ga.; step sons, Robert J. Campbell of Hillsboro, Charles E. Campbell of Coffeen, Daniel F. Campbell of Auburn; daughters, Jeanette bessett and husband Charles of Williston, Vt., Linda Knepler and husband Clarence of Girard, Rhonda Jacobs and husband Sonny of Westport, Pa., Brenda Vath and husband Joseph of Rocky Mountain, N.C.; step daughters, Mary Jane Roach and husband Glen of Mt. Olive, Doris Kay Hamby and husband Norman of Hillsboro; brothers, Walter E. Wilson of St. Peters, Mo., Alfred H. Wilson of Fillmore, Charles H. Wilson and Robert A. Burial was in Cedar Ridge Cemetery at Honey Bend. Musical selections for the service were "In the Garden" and "Where the Roses Never Fade." Vocalist was Peggy King. Organist was Wilma McCammack. Eulogies were given by Harold Tapley, Ken Neathery and Bob Mosser, deacons of Calvary Baptist Church, Hillsboro. A poem was read by Dan Campbell. Pallbearers were Kenny Littrell, David Slightom, Harold Tapley, Butch Sanders, Bob Mosser and Dan Hamby. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Sarginson, Harold Whitten, Ken Neathery and Billy Isaacs. Following the services a lunch was provided for family and friends by Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson, 82, died Sunday, February 21, in Hillsboro Hospital.

Graveside service for James L. Wilson, father of Jack L. Wilson of Witt, was held Sunday in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield. Mr. Wilson, of Springfield, died Friday, October 15, 1999, in Doctors Hospital. He was 74 years old on August 19, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was born in Fayette County, a son of Raymond and Grace Mason Wilson. His wife, the former Hazel Skaggs, died in 1989. Surviving are two other sons, Donald and Ronald D. Wilson, both of Herrick; daughters, Sherry Koester of Ramsey, Tammy Hoyle of California; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jerry Paul Wilson, son of Jerry L. Wilson of Hillsboro, died at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, April 4, 1999, in Memphis, Tenn. He was 36 years old last May 18. He was born in McHenry and had resided in Illiopolis and Mattoon. Surviving besides his father is his mother, Sharon Bloxam Timmons of Decatur; grandmother, Fern Hardwick of Neoga; sisters, Marta Justice of Springfield, Mo., Diana Oshesky of Sherman, Nanette Imel of Decatur, Teresa Stika of Rantoul, Brenda Wilson of Beardstown and Christina Wilson of Sherman. Services and burial were held in Concord Cemetery at Neoga.

Mr. Wilson died at 6:27 p.m. Friday, April 30, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 54 years old on July 3. He was a miner with Monterey Coal Company, member of United Mine Workers Local 1612, and a 1962 graduate of Gillespie High School. A son of James and Julia Pucher Wilson, he married Sharon Rossey on September 28, 1963, in Carlinville. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Greg Wilson of Fredericksburg, Va. and three grandchildren, Joshua O'Neil, Derek and Alexys Wilson, all of Fredericksburg. A daughter, Trisha Lynn Wilson, preceded him in death.

Services for Lucille T. Wilson, formerly of Coffeen, were held this morning in St. John's Catholic Church there. The Rev. Father Carl Schmidt officiated. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery. Toberman Funeral Home, Coffeen, was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wilson died Sunday, September 6, 1998, in Fandulac Woods Nursing Home in East Peoria. She was 95 years old on November 12. She and her husband, William, operated a dairy farm in Coffeen for many years and later they lived in Washington, Ill. She was born in South Wilmington, a daughter of Anton and Domencia Bollero Salato. She married William Wilson in December 1932 in Chicago. He died February 24, 1978. Surviving are a daughter, Joy Polston and husband Jim of Washington; sisters, Letitia Newman of California, Irene Salato of Coffeen; two grandchildren, Joyce Luzader and Jim Polston Jr.; and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Joseph Saluto "Sonny" Wilson; brothers, Joseph and George Saluto and a sister, Gabriella Olson.
Wilson, Verna L.
Verna Lucille Wilson, formerly of Litchfield, died October 27, 1999, in Tempe, Ariz. A resident of Tempe, she was 85 years old on October 5. She had been gone from Litchfield for more than 40 years and worked as secretary. She was last employed by a machinery company. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of James W. and Rachel H. Miller York. The family lived in the 1300 block of North Jackson. Her sister, Velma, married into the Wright family and at one time resided south of the family home in the 1200 block of North Jackson. She is survived by her husband, Woodrow W. Wilson; a daughter, Janis Tannenbaum of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; and a granddaughter, Rachel. Funeral services were held in Scottsdale, Ariz., with entombment in Green Acres Memorial Gardens there. Tempe Mortuary, 405 East Southern avenue, was in charge of arrangements.
Wilson, Wesley M.
Wesley M. Wilson, father of Daniel Wilson of Hillsboro, died Friday, February 19, 1999, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. He would have been 71 years old on February 20, and a veteran of World War II. He worked in the purchasing department of Commonwealth Edison until retiring in 1982. He also worked for the Mascoutah post office for seven years. He was born in Joliet, a son of Wesley G. and Madeline Kelly Wilson. His wife, the former Joyce Jahnke, died in 1982. Surviving are another son, Wesley M. Wilson Jr. of Taylorville; daughters, Mary Ellen O'Brien of Effingham, Janet Kath of Martinsville, Ind., Eileen Newberry of Taylorville; brother, Richard Wilson of Hinesville, Ga.; sister, Margaret Bressette of Washington, D.C.: and six grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Connolly - McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, is in charge of arrangements.
Winhold, Charles W.
Charles W. Winhold, formerly of Hillsboro, died Thursday, September 17, 1998, in his Springfield home. He was 86 years old on March 15. He was born in Hillsboro, a son of William A. and Vera Mary Iona Durand Winhold. Surviving are his wife, the former Marian E. Newell; daughters, Janice L. Artrip of Webster City, Iowa, Carol W. Edwards of Springfield; and five grandchildren. Services were held this morning in Springfield with burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Wisnasky, Berdell R.
Services for Berdell R. (Steve) Wisnasky, of Staunton, were held at 10 a.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Livingston. The Rev. George Radosevich officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville. The family suggests memorials be directed to Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Wisnasky died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 1998, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. He was 75 years old last September 30. He worked at Laclede Steel Company in Alton for 34 years, retiring in December 1983 as a supervisor. He had resided in Staunton for the past two years. He was born in Marine, a son of Michael and Amelia Landolt Wisnasky. He married Mary Ann Talick on June 6, 1942, in Edwardsville. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Marylu Liley and husband Steve of Alton; sons, Joe Wisnasky and wife Joyce of Edwardsville, Terry Wisnasky and wife Linda of New Douglas, Michael Wisnasky and wife Connie of Meadowbrook; a sister, Selma Ashauer of Roden; a brother, Herbert Wisnasky of Rosewood Heights; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Preceding him in death were a sister, Arlene Brown and brothers, Art, Clyde, Floyd, Lloyd, Clifton, Basil and Merwin Wisnasky. Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton, was in charge of arrangements.
