Mrs. Helen "Momo" Junk (Alley)
Helen L. “Momo” Junk, 80, of Franklin died Monday morning, June 5, 2000 in Paducah, Kentucky. She was born on October 23, 1919 in Glendale, South Carolina the daughter of Garley Barto and Bertha Irene Lowe Alley. She married Rev. Kenneth Junk on December 9, 1941 in Spartanburg, South Carolina and he survives.
She is also survived by two sons, Bart (wife, Pamela) Junk of Leslie, Missouri and Richard Junk of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Judy (husband, Ken ) Lanpher-Waring of Kansas City, Missouri and Rhoda (husband, Gary) Layton of Pauline, South Carolina; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and four brothers, Ernest Alley, Raymond (wife, Jessie) Alley, and Pierce Alley, all of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and David D. (wife, Imogene) Alley of Montgomery, Alabama. She was preceded in death by one brother, Roy, and two sisters, Susan Bowyer and Sarah Edgens.
Mrs. Junk was a houseparent at Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville for eight years. Prior to that she had worked at daycare centers in Quincy, and later Jacksonville. She was active in the Deaf Ministry, and in her support as a pastor’s wife, most recently at Durbin United Methodist Church near Franklin and for many years as a camp counselor at Epworth Springs. Mrs. Junk was most widely known for the work she did in the Clown Ministry, performing as Momo. She received her clown training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville under Minnie Pearl.
Mrs. Junk was a member of Durbin United Methodist Church, President and lifetime member of P.T.A., and a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2000 at the Durbin United Methodist Church with burial at Franklin Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Durbin United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Durbin United Methodist Church. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Norma L. Keeley (Gernigan)
Norma L. Keeley, 85, of Carrollton was pronounced deat at 6:55 P.M. on
Thursday Dec. 21, 2000 at her residence unexpectedly.
Born in Kane on Feb. 1, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Jesse and
Tessie Bartlett Gernigan.
On March 27, 1937 she married Delbert “Myrle” Keeley in Kane and he
preceded her in death on July 29, 1997.
She is survived by a son and his wife : Noel M. and Joyce Keeley of
Carrollton, a brother Rupert Gernigan of Caseyville, 2 grandsons: SSGT
David E. Keeley and Mark Keeley, 2 step grandsons: Robert L. and James
Ray Thompson, 4 great grandchildren: Sarah Keeley, Lukas Thompson,
Kristen Thompson and Kelly Thompson.
She was preceded in death by a son Neil E. Keeley and her step mother
who raised her as her own child following her real mother’s death: Hattie
Weller.
Mrs. Keeley had worked in the cafeteria of the Carrollton High School
for 20 years prior to retirement in 1978. She was a member of the Carrollton
First Baptist Church and the Mt. Gilead Club.
Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday at the Airsman-Hires
Funeral Home in Carrollton where services will be held on Wednesday at 10
A.M. with burial to follow in the Carrollton City Cemetery. Memorials are
to the Awana Club.
Miss Jeanne E. Kendall
Jeanne E. Kendall, 86, of St. Cloud, Minnesota and formerly of Jacksonville died
Wednesday morning, June 7, 2000 at St. Benedict’s Center in St. Cloud. She was born
June 9, 1913 in Moorhead, Minnesota the daughter of George and Erma Rickart Kendall.
She is survived by one sister, Ruth Kendall Brewe of Seneca, one nephew, one
niece, one great-niece, 8 great-nephews, 6 great-great-nieces and 4 great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Kendall and one sister, Chestine Kendall.
Ms. Kendall was the valedictorian of Jacksonville High School Class of 1931. She was a teacher in Michigan and Illinois schools for many years. In 1975 she went to work for the Missouri Department of Social Services, Division of Family Services from which she retired in 1994.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2000 at Memorial Lawn Cemetry. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lucille Bennett Kiley, 94, of Jacksonville, died Monday afternoon, August 7, 2000, at Skyview Terrace in Jacksonville.
She was born on January 22, 1906, in Jacksonville, the daughter of George C. and mary Ann Newman Bennett. She married George Thomas Kiley on November 28, 1946, and he preceded her in death on August 27, 1998.
She is survived by three daughters: Maxine Graham of Mount Carroll; Shirley (husband, Bill) Haycraft, of Franklin; and Donna Holloway of Tuscon, Arizona; 16 grandchildren and 25c great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Ann Hudgens whose husband, Donald survives in Jacksonville and two sisters: Frances Pate and Marguerite Genualdi.
Mrs. Kiley had been employed at J. Caps & Sons as a machine operator for 43 years. She was a member of the Church of Our Saviour, where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar and Rosary Society.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2000 at the Chuirch of Our Saviour, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Church of Our Saviour. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Samuel L. Killebrew
Samuel Lawrence Killebrew, 93, of Glasgow died Monday evening June 26, 2000 at Pittsfield Manor.
He was born October 12, 1906 near Glasgow the son of the late Thomas S. “Kaiser” and Ethel W. Miller Killebrew.
He married Elsie M. Evans June 25, 1927 in Winchester. She preceded him in death December 22, 1995. Also preceding him was a grandson Mike.
Mr. Killebrew attended country school near Glasgow. He farmed, worked at the Alsey Refractories, for the Thomas and the Hardwick rock quarries, and the Scott County Highway Department where he retired in 1971.
He was a member of the Glasgow Christian Church.
Survivors include his sons Sam R. Killebrew of Glasgow and Lawrence E. “Larry” Killebrew of Caulfield, Missouri. 4 grandsons and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday June 29, 2000 at the Glasgow Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Glasgow Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4:00 PM on Wednesday at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester where the family will meet with friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Friends may also call from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the Church on Thursday.

Agnes Kimbro (Long)
Agnes Kimbro, 85, of Carrier Mills, Ill. formerly of Green e Co. died on
Sunday at The Long Term Care Facility in Carrier Mills.
Born in Carrollton on June 24, 1914 she was the daughter of the late Steve
and Maggie Layton Long.
Surviving are a son : Gary Kimbro of Limestone, Tenn. 5 grandchildren,
12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Several nieces and
nephews also survive.
Preceding her in death were 4 brothers: John Long, Art Long, Fred Long
and Wilson Cardwell and 4 sisters: Adelma Breitweiser, Pearl Talley, Mary
Vaughn and Mary Long.
Mrs. Kimbro had worked as a Department Head for Woolworth & Co.
until retirement. She was a past member of the Carrollton First Baptist
Church.
Visitation will be from 1 P.M. until service time at 2 P.M. at the
Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton on Wednesday. Burial will
follow in the Carrollton City Cemetery. Memorials are to the Carrollton First
Baptist Church.
Mrs. Thelma Lee Kingery (Ballard)
Thelma Lee Kingery, 67, of Pittsfield died Saturday night September 2, 2000 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born April 1, 1933 in Chambersburg the daughter of Herbert and Velma Robinson Ballard.
She married Harry Kingery July 11, 1951 in Pittsfield.
Mrs. Kingery attended Perry Grade School and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1951.
She was affiliated with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services as a foster parent to over 150 children from 1970 through 1998. She was employed at Louisiana Plastics in Louisiana, Missouri for 10 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pittsfield. She loved to collect dolls and do embroidering.
Surviving is her husband Harry at home. 5 daughters, Caroline (husband David) Wells of Pittsfield, Joanna (husband Dean) Silver of Ferrelview, Missouri, Linda (husband Ron) Heskett of Eudora, Kansas, Jacky (husband Bill) Minor of Pittsfield, Lois (husband Todd) Lloyd of Roanoak, Virginia, 4 sons, Brad (wife Becky) Kingery, Kevin (wife Pat) Kingery, Bruce (wife Bev) Bennett all of Pittsfield and Stanley (wife Karen) Wismer of Winchester.
11 grandchilren. 5 sisters Maxine Schaffer of Ursa, Martha Jean Browning of Chambersburg, Eva Donhardt of Quincy, Georgia Marie Sill of Hampstead, NorthCarolina, Marion Barrett of Iberial Beach, California. 5 brothers Norris Ballard of O’Fallon, Missouri, Floyd Ballard, Petauma, California, Kenny Ballard of LaGrange, Missouri and Robert Ballard of Roy, Utah, and Paul Ballard of Elizabeth Town, Tennessee.
Preceding her in death was her parents, 2 sisters Mary Jane Ballard, Evelyn Schaller, 5 brothers Herbert, Lawrence, Fred, Harold and Donnie Ballard.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday (September 7, 2000) at Calvary Baptist Church in Pittsfield.
Burial will be in Blue River Cemetery at Detroit.
Friends may call at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield on Wednesday from 5:00 until 9:00 PM.

Mr. Kevin James Knapp
Kevin James Knapp, 45, of Winchester died Sunday (July 16,2000) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He was born July 19, 1954 in Jacksonville the son of Edwin Augustus and Nancy Fern Stump Knapp.
He married Dianna Lynn Lomelino December 7, 1990 in Jacksonville.
Mr. Knapp was a 1972 graduate of Jacksonville High School; He was the owner of Ed’s Memorials in Winchester since 1978 and was also a Team Leader at Pactiv Corp. in Jacksonville where he had worked for 15 years.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge #865 in Jacksonville. He enjoyed Scuba diving, 4 wheeling, motorcycling, fishing, camping, playing pool in a league and spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife Dianna at home. 3 daughters Jamie (husband Scott) Moore, and Jodie Miller both of Pittsfield, Rachelle Knapp at home. 4 grandchildren Melissa Moore, Jonathan Moore, Caylee Miller and Taylor Miller. His mother Nancy Fern Clayton of Winchester.
Preceding him in death was his father Edwin Knapp and his stepfather Donald Clayton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday July 21, 2000 at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester with burial in Blue River Cemetery near Detroit.
Friends may call after 4:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Following the funeral services on Friday the family will also meet with friends at the Moose Lodge in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Isabella M. Laird (Johnston)
Isabella M. Johnston Laird, age 96, of New Salem, Ill. died early Sunday morning (July 30, 2000) at the Royal Manor Boarding Home in New Salem, Ill..
She was born July 5, 1904 in New Salem, Illinois daughter of the late Clarence and Nettibelle Miller Johnston.
She married Pressly Laird on April 5, 1931 in New Salem, Ill. and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1986.
Surviving is one son, Alvin Laird and wife Janis of Griggsville, Ill.; four grandchildren, Mrs. Robert (Beth) Taylor of Mapelton, Ill., Kevin Laird of Gilbert, Arizona, Mrs. Mark (Tonya) Nagler of Peoria, Ill., and Tiffany Thompson of Jacksonville, North Carolina; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Paul and Alvin Johnston.
Mrs. Laird was Postmaster for New Salem, Ill. for 30 years, retiring in 1965. She was an active member of the New Salem United Methodist Church in New Salem, Ill, joining in 1914 where she was church pianist, Sunday School Superintendent, and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a 77 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Cornelia Chapter 791 and a 50 year member of Royal Neighbors.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday (August 2, 2000) at the New Salem United Methodist Church in New Salem, Ill. Burial will be in Gray Cemetery near New Salem, Ill.. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. where Order of the Eastern Star services will be held at 7:30 p.m.. Memorials may be made to the New Salem United Methodist Church.
