Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Ralph (Doran)
Patricia “Pat” Ralph, age 65, of Barry, Ill. died Thursday morning (December 7, 2000) at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill..
She was born September 6, 1935 in Barry, Ill. daughter of the late Thomas E. “Dick” and Hazel Lucille Davis Doran.
She married Glendel H. Ralph on August 27, 1954 in Barry, Ill. and he survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Sherry Waters of Hull, Ill.; two sons, Michael Ralph and wife Teresa of Pittsfield, Ill. and Bob Ralph and Jane of Barry, Ill.; five grandchildren, Clint Waters, Lisa Waters, Kate Ralph, and Zach Ralph all of Barry, Ill. and Evan Ralph of Pittsfield, Ill.; and one brother, Norman “Red” Doran of Barry, Ill..
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Robert Doran.
Mrs. Ralph was a 1953 graduate of Barry High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, crochet, and vegetable canning.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 10, 2000) at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. with Bro. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery in Barry, Ill.. Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. Saturday with family meeting with friends from 6-8 p.m.. Memorials may be made to the Pike County Transportation Fund or to the Barry American Legion Post #222.
Mr. Russell R. Ralston
Russell Roy Ralston, 55, of Palmyra, died Friday morning, August 25, 2000 in Memorial Hospital in Springfield. He was born June 6, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a son of Samuel Dalton Ralston and Esther Dorthea Heimark Ralston. He married Darlene Louise Bohannon on June 28, 1970 in Green view, Illinois and she survives.
Also surviving are his father: Sam Ralston of Palmyra; two daughters: Renee Ralston and Ruby Ralston, both of Palmyra; three brothers: David (wife Beverly) of Yorkville, Illinois; Dale (wife Judy) of Sreator, Illinois; Randy (wife Gerry) Ralston of Bonita Springs, Florida; and one sister: Barbara (husband Jerry) Swalley of Newark, Delaware. He was preceded in death by his mother, in 1987, and by one son: Romney Roy Ralston in 1981.
Mr. Ralston was a farmer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2000 in Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral time. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Palmyra. Memorials are suggested to The American Lung Association.
Mr. Harold W. Ralston
Harold Wayne Ralston, 70 of Hettick, died Tuesday, October 31, 2000 at his home. He was born on April 10, 1930 in rural Palmyra, the son of Lester and Bertha Bilger Ralston. He married Alice Ann Hall on June 24, 1950 and she survives.
Also surviving are one son: Andrew (wife Gwynn) Ralston of Palmyra; three daughters: Pamela (husband, Rodney) Thompson of Girard; Janet (husband, Harvey) Deatherage of Carlinville; Leslie Ralston of Springfield; three sisters: Lorraine (husband, Alvin) Dennis of Modesto, Alma (husband, William) Norris of Palmyra, Donna (husband, Ronald) Woolfolk of Palmyra; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marjorie Vance.
He was a member of the Scotville United Methodist Church, was retired from Farming and from the Jacksonville Developmental Center, and was a substitute School Bus Driver for Northwestern Schools.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2000 at the Scottville United Methodist Church. The family will meet friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to the Green e County Hospice or Scottville United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Mary E. Randall
Mary E. Randall, age 90, of Roodhouse, died Sunday morning, June
18, 2000 at Reisch Memorial Nursing Home in Carrollton.
She was born Feb. 25, 1910 in Roodhouse, the daughter of Joseph
and Martha Ludwick Maddiex.
She married Guy M. Randall on Jan. 9, 1931 in Carrollton and he
preceded her in death June 26, 1993.
She is survived by one son, Gary Randall of Roodhouse; one
daughter, Barbara Glover of Carrollton; four grandchildren, Michael Glover
of Springfield; Michelle Randall-Wood of Jacksonville; Kimberly Fansler
of White Hall and Toni Randall-Esarey of Atlanta, GA; and two great
grandchildren, Zoe and Daisey Wood. She was preceded in death by four
brothers, John, Eugene, Carroll and Hal Maddiex and five sisters, Fannie
McLeese, Dessie Thompson, Henrietta Maddiex, Virginia Gowan and Pearl
Maddiex.
Mrs. Randall worked at the Roodhouse Envelope Company for many
years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Roodhouse Christian
Church and a former member of the Eastern Star in Roodhouse and was
currently a member of the White Hall Eastern Star.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at
the Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse. Memorials are suggested to the
charity of the donor’s choice. The Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in
Roodhouse is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs Dorothy Mae Rawlings (Long)
Dorothy Mae Rawlings, 89, of Jacksonville, formerly Franklin, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 in Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born August 13, 1911 in Morgan County, Illinois, near Nortonville, a daughter of Samuel and Hattie Grote Long. She married Clarence "Slim" Rawlings on July 18, 1934 in Bowling Green , Missouri, and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1973.
Surviving are: one daughter; Mary K. (husband Arthur) Rouland of Waverly; five sons: Clarence Reggie (wife Phyllis) of Jacksonville; Charles of Franklin; Jerry (wife Rada) of Franklin; John (wife Peggy) of Barry; Francis (wife Bev) of Jacksonville; two sisters: Gertrude (husband Fred) Fettis of Quincy; Florence Dennis of Liberty; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband; four brothers; four sisters; two half brothers and three half sisters.
She was a homemaker and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2001 in Williamson Funeral Home, 1405 Lincoln Ave. Jacksonville, where the family will receive friends from Noon until the time of services. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Franklin. Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Church.
Mrs. Leona May Reagor
Leona May Reagor, age 70, of St. Augustine, formerly of Manchester and Roodhouse, died Thursday evening, July 6, 2000 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Galesburg.
She was born February 21, 1930 in Manchester, the daughter of Leo and Ada Cummings Rochester. She married Donald L. Reagor on October 27, 1950 in Roodhouse and he survives.
She is also survived by one son, William (wife, Claudia) Reagor of Roodhouse; one daughter, Mrs. Lewis (Debra) Turner of St. Augustine; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one sister, Virginia Sing of Toms River, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Wendell Rochester.
Mrs. Reagor worked for the State of Illinois for 26 years at the Jacksonville State Hospital, then at Galesburg Mental Health Center, then she retired on March 1, 1988 from Zeller Mental Health Center in Peoria. She loved her grandchildren and loved to read, knit, crochet, and do needlework.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Manchester Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. with family meeting friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse. Memorials are suggested to the St. Mary’s Medical center Auxiliary.
Wesley Francis Reardon
Wesley F. Reardon, 23, of Alsey died early Saturday morning (December 2,2000) at his residence.
He was born January 7, 1977 in Jacksonville the son of James M. and Carla J. Savage Reardon.
Mr. Reardon attended Winchester Schools. He was a dedicated father who enjoyed spending time with his children, his family and his friends. He worked for Valley Improvement Construction Company in Bluffs, Lakin Trucking in Murrayville and also for Reardon Tree Service in Winchester.
Survivors include his son Jared and his daughter Shayla. His parents Jim and Carla Reardon of Alsey, 2 sisters Wendy Graham of Jacksonville and Amy Reardon of Winchester. 3 brothers Jim Reardon Jr. of Winchester, Jeremy Reardon of Winchester and Justin Reardon of Alsey. His paternal grandparents Francis and Jewell Reardon of Murrayville, maternal grandmother Marion Savage of Roodhouse and Maternal great grandmother Wreatha Sitton of Roodhouse. As well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Shelly Reardon and his grandfather Carl Savage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday December 5, 2000 at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester.
Burial will be in St. Bartholomew Cemetery in Murrayville.
Friends may call after 3:00 PM Monday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
Memorial contributions can be made to a trust fund for his children.
Mr. Richard D. Reese
Richard D. Reese, age 75, of Perry, Ill. died late Wednesday evening (June 28, 2000) at Illini Hospital in Pittsfield, Ill.
He was born January 7, 1925 in Perry, Ill., son of the late Harvey H. and Mildred Lytle Reese.
He married Arlene Orr on October 5, 1945 in Griggsville, Ill. and she survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Murray (Diane) Bennett of Payson, Ill.; two sons, Dwight R. Reese of Springfield, Ill. and Douglas D. Reese of Perry, Ill.; five grandchildren, Mrs. Adam (Melissa) Wagner of Longview, Texas, Matthew Bennett of Payson, Ill., and Adam, Lauren, and Shannon Reese all of Springfield, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Reese was a 1943 graduate of Perry High School in Perry, Illinois and farmed south of Perry, Ill. for many years. In addition to farming, he also was a self-employed stonemason and was a skilled woodworker. He was a member of the Perry United Methodist Church in Perry, Ill. and a past member of the Pike County Farm Bureau.
Private services will be held Saturday (July 1, 2000). There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Hebron Cemetery c/o the funeral home. Skinner-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Griggsville, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lynden Reinhardt
Lynden Reinhardt, age 90, of Pittsfield, Ill. died early Wednesday morning (November 15, 2000) at the Pittsfield Manor Nursing Home in Pittsfield, Ill..
He was born July 28, 1910 in New Salem, Ill. son of the late William Harvey and Mina Mae Carnes Reinhardt.
He married Hulda Pauline Dunham on November 12, 1931 in Pittsfield, Ill. and she survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Dolores Ann) Rogers of Alpharetta, Georgia; two sons, Marion Lamoine Reinhardt and wife Maria “Susie” of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Richard Eugene Reinhardt and wife Cherie of Thornton, Colorado; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Glenna Dringenberg; and two brothers, Edwin Lamoine Reinhardt and Orville Fay Reinhardt.
Mr. Reinhardt was graduate of New Salem High School in New Salem, Ill. and had been employed by Brown Shoe Company in Pittsfield, Ill. for 35 years retiring in 1974. He was a 80 year plus member of the New Salem United Methodist Church and was a Past Master and member of the New Salem Masonic Lodge #218 A.F. & A.M.. He was also a member and a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and was past secretary of the Swiggert Cemetery near New Salem, Ill.. He was very active in the New Salem community for many years and had served on the town board. He was also an avid sportsman.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (November 18, 2000) at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. with Rev. David Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the Pittsfield West Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m.. There will be a public Masonic service held at 8 p.m. Friday evening conducted by the New Salem Masonic Lodge #218 A. F. & A. M.. Connie Retherford (Nord)
Connie Retherford, 53, of Carrollton was pronounced dead at 9:00 A.M.
unexpectedly at her residence on Monday August 21, 2000.
Born on Feb. 14, 1947 in Hillview she was the daughter of Alice
“Geraldine” Miller Nord of White Hall and the late Michael Pete Nord.
She married Francis Harvey Retherford on July 10, 1965 and he survives.
Also surviving are 2 daughters: Mrs. Raymond “Janelle” Hardwick and
Mrs. Robert “Janice” Woelfel both of Carrollton and a son : Francis “Bo”
( wife-Stefanie) Retherford of Green field. 4 grandchildren: Kayla and
Michael Hardwick, Amber Retherford and Terri Woelfel. A sister: Lela R.
McGee of White Hall and 2 brothers: Larry Nord and Clyde Nord both of
White Hall also survive.
She was a member of the Hillview Baptist Church and will be sadly
missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday at the Airsman-Hires
Funeral Home in Carrollton where services will be held on Friday at 2 P.M.
with burial to follow in the Pine Tree Cemetery. Memorials are to a charity
of one’s choice.
Mrs. Sarah Amelia Ribble (Thompson)
Sarah Amelia Ribble, 89, of Hettick, died Monday, December 11, 2000 at 3:10 a.m. in her home in rural Hettick. She was born on November 11, 1911 in Palmyra, the daughter of Victor and Elizabeth Wiggins Thompson. She married William Jesse Ribble on December 4, 1929 in Carrollton. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1990.
Survivng Mrs. Ribble are three sons: Tom (wife, Jody) of Ventura, California; Bob (wife, Mary Ellen) of Hettick; William J. (wife Mary Lou) of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter; Judy (husband, Earl) Mikush of St. Charles, Misssouri; fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and several brothers and a sister.
She was very active in her lifetime helping with the milking at the family dairy farm, writing for the Palmyra Transcript newspaper, clerking in the U.S. Post Office in hettick when her husband was Postmaster and volunteering her help as a cook in the school.
Following cremation, graveside funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2000 in Gilead Cemetery in Hettick. The family will receive friends from 11:00 intil 12:00 noon on Thursday at the Stults Neece Funeral home in Palmyra. Memorials are suggested to Hettick Rescue Squad, Hettick Community Club, Benld Adopt-A- Pet, or the Macula Society for Research for Macular Degeneration in care of Stults Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Mrs. Grace Jeannette Richards
Grace Jeanette Richards, 83, of Jacksonville and a former White Hall resident died Friday morning, September 1, 2000 at Passavant Area Hospital. She was born January 21, 1917 near New Berlin the daughter of John Reuben and Bessie Emma Warren Keeney. She married George Richards on August 25, 1941 in Rolla, Missouri and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1986.
She is survived by three sons, Walter Lee (wife,Christina) Richards of Kuttawa, Kentucky, Carl Dee Richards of Jacksonville and Wayne Allen (wife,Tamara) Richards of Indianapolis, Indiana; four grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Stewart of Beardstown and one brother, Paul Keeney of Palmyra. She was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Keeney and four brothers, John, Joe, Charles and Benjamin Keeney.
Mrs. Richards was an active member of the White Hall United Methodist Church and more recently attended the First Christian Church in South Jacksonville. She was very faithful and dedicated to her church. She received a Bachelor of Education Degree from Illinois State Normal University. She was a member of the Gamma Epsilon Education Sorority. Grace taught country school for five years. She and her husband farmed their entire married life both in Missouri and Illinois, most recently being west of White Hall from 1956 until the early 1980’s when they retired.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September, 5, 2000 at the First Christian Church in South Jacksonville with burial at Woodwreath Cemetery at Island Grove. Friends may call after 4 p.m on Monday at Williamson Funeral Home where the family to meet friends from 6-8. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the Donor’s Choice.
Mr. Delayne G. Richardson
Delayne G. Richardson, age 66, of Griggsville, Ill. died 7:19 p.m. Sunday (November 5, 2000) at his residence.
He was born May 4, 1934 in Lowell, Massachusetts son of the late Llewellyn Leo and Ruth Agnes Holt.
He married Lois Ann Vickroy on December 30, 1966 in West Covina, California and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Kathy) Alberts of Denton, Texas, Joanna Gustin of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Bob (Toni) Cotton of Katy, Texas; three sons, Cory Richardson of Concord, New Hampshire, John Gustin of Katy, Texas, and Jason Richardson and wife Jocelyn of Grigsville, Ill.; thirteen grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ronald (Marilyn) Stebbins of Epson, New Hampshire; two brothers, Rodney Richardson and wife Pat of Salem, New Hampshire, and Milton Richardson and wife Hellen of Altadena, California; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Richardson was a 1952 graduate of Concord High School in Concord, New Hampshire and enlisted in the U.S. Army during Korea and was very active in the Korean War Veterans Association. Following thirteen years in the military as a Warrant Officer, Texaco Incorporated employed him for twenty-five years until his retirement in 1990. Following his retirement he moved to Griggsville, Ill. and worked for Cadle Implement in Perry, Ill. and most recently at R&R Farms in Perry, Ill..
He was a member of the Griggsville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday (Nov. 10, 2000) at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. with Rev. John Eisfelder officiating. Burial will be in Blue River Cemetery near Detroit, Ill. with graveside military rites conducted by Griggsville American Legion Post #213. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where family will meet with friends from 6 –8 p.m.. Memorials may be made to the Griggsville United Methodist Church.
