Emma Randol
Brown County native Emma K. Randol died Saturday afternoon, November 7, 1998, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers in Beech Grove. A resident of Martinsville, she was 68.
Mrs. Randol was born November 21, 1929, in Brown County to Iven H. Richards and Lona Fleener Richards.
Her father served as fire chief in Martinsville.
She was married to Jay Randol. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Randol had owned and operated Kathy's Eastside Beauty Shop in Martinsville and Emma's Beauty Shop in Kendallville throughout the 1960s and 1970s.
She was a member of the York Street Church of Christ in Martinsville.
Survivors include a son, Fredrick W. Critser of Paragon; three daughters, Deborah K. Jordan of Allegan, Michigan, Molly Jones of Chicago, Illinois and Glenna Soloman of New Castle; an adopted grandson, Rocky Critser of Martinsville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, James I. Richards of Columbus; and a sister, Janice A. Abel of Martinsville.
Mrs. Randol was preceded in death by three sisters, Marion Kindred, Bettie Petro and Doris Clark.
Brother Keith Chitwood conducted a service Tuesday, November 10, at Neal and Summers Funeral Home in Martinsville.
Burial was in that city's New South Park Cemetery.
Doris M. Ratliff
Morgantown resident Doris Marie Ratliff died Thursday, November 5, 1998, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. She was 70.
Mrs. Ratliff was born November 10, 1927, in Brown County to William Ervin and Versal Hutchison Norman.
She and Melvin E. Ratliff were married March 27, 1947, in Morgantown. He survives.
Mrs. Ratliff was a homemaker. During World War II, she had worked as a secretary at Camp Atterbury.
She was a member of Mt. Nebo Community Church in Morgan County. Mrs. Ratliff acted as the church's treasurer.
Mrs. Ratliff enjoyed Indiana University basketball, mushroom hunting and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was graduated from the old Morgantown High School in 1945.
Other survivors include a daughter, Janet E. Sichting of Morgantown; two sons, Steve E. Ratliff of Franklin and Craig Ratliff of Morgantown; two sisters, Rosemary Sichting and Kathryn J. Fleener, both of Morgantown; six grandchildren, Stephen R. Ratliff, Dewayne M. Ratliff, Sally J. Ratliff, Jenny M. Scott, Chad G. Sichting and Karen R. Sichting; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ratliff was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Craig Sichting; and a sister, Wilma Lou Ratliff.
The Reverend John Irvin led a service Sunday, November 8, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
Burial was in that community's East Hill Cemetery.

Joyce D. Sizemore
Three Story Hill Road resident Joyce Dee Etchison Sizemore died Thursday morning, November 5, 1998, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was 54.
Mrs. Sizemore was born June 20, 1944, in Martinsville to William Etchi-son and Daisy White. Her mother survives in Martinsville.
She was married to Tommy R. Sizemore. He survives in Brown County.
Mrs. Size-more was graduated from Martinsville High School.
She attended Friendship Church in southern Johnson County.
Mrs. Sizemore had worked as a medication aide at the County Home of Columbus for 11 years.
Other survivors include two daughters, Diana D. Roseberry and Lisa Gregory, both of Indianapolis; a step-daughter, Angela Evans of Maryland; two sons, Timothy Bolin of Tennessee and Eric Sizemore of Morgantown; a sister, Janice Gee of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a step-son, Mark Sizemore.
Dewey Sizemore Jr. and Jimmy Hoskins conducted a service Monday, November 9, at Friendship Church.
Burial was in the church's cemetery.
Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home on State Road 135 North was in charge of arrangements.
Marcia Wilson
Brown County native Marcia M. Wilson died Wednesday morning, November 4, 1998, at her home in Edinburgh. She was 89.
Mrs. Wilson was born August 4, 1909, in Brown County to Lewis and Jennie Tomlinson.
She and Clarence "Froggie" Wilson were married in August 1945. He died in November 1980.
Mrs. Wilson had worked as a secretary at Indiana Brace Shop in Indianapolis, retiring in 1963.
She was also a quilt maker.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Edinburgh United Methodist Church, Clifford Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a former member of a Christian church in Columbus and a former worthy advisor of Rainbow for Girls.
Survivors include a son, Carlton Wilson of Edinburgh; two brothers, Louie Tomlinson of Greenwood and William Howard Tomlinson of Bonham, Texas; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and a sister.
The Reverend George Eagler conducted a service Monday, November 9, in Edinburgh's Rest Haven Cemetery.
Long Funeral Home in Edinburgh was in charge of arrangements.
Wendell Bay
Nashville resident Wendell Bay died Sunday, November 15, 1998, at his home. He was 57.
Mr. Bay was born December 15, 1940, in Brown County to Marvin R. and Josephine Hatchett Bay.
His wife, Sandy Bay, survives in Brown County.
He had owned and operated Wen-dell Bay and Sons Construc-tion and was a building contractor.
Mr. Bay had attended Unity Baptist Church in northern Brown County.
Other survivors include two daughters, Bev Percifield and Melissa Duncan, both of Nashville; two sons, Fred Bay of Morgantown and Joe Bay of Missouri; six grandchildren; five sisters, Rosemary Sisson of Morgantown, Edith Glidden of Franklin, Connie Hubbard of Trafalgar, Deloris Wilson of Kokomo and Diana Fish of Nashville; and a brother, Bob Bay of Helmsburg.
Mr. Bay was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Carol Sue Bay and Linda Lou Bay; and four brothers, Rex Bay, Donald Bay, Earl Bay and and infant brother.
Pastor Fred Harrison will lead a service Thursday, November 19, at 11 a.m. in the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home on State Road 135 North.
Burial was in Brown County's Duncan Cemetery.

Ivan Colglazier
Ivan L. Colglazier, father of Nashville resident Sheila Lemke, died Wednesday, November 11, 1998, at Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg.
A former Columbus resident, he was 79.
Mr. Colglazier was born September 5, 1919, in Wash-ington County to Perry and Edith Norris Colglazier.
He had served as vice president of sales for the Gibson Company in Indianapolis, retiring in 1982.
After that he was executive director of the Indiana Assoication of Private Career Schools.
Mr. Colglazier was a United States Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Nashville Christian Church, Murat Shrine, Scottish Rite and Calvin Prather Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Lemke of Nashville and Pam Taylor of Columbus; a son, Rick Colglazier of Columbus; a sister, Ivalou Chastain of Salem; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Colglazier was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Colglazier and Edward Colglazier.
Pastor Daryl Swearingen conducted a service Saturday, November 14, at Nashville Christian Church.
Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home on State Road 135 North was in charge of arrangements.

Dillan I. Deckard
Life-long Brown County resident Dillan Isaac Deckard died Friday evening, November 13, 1998, at the Brown County Community Care Center in Salt Creek Park. He was 75.
Mr. Deckard was born April 12, 1923, in Brown County to Porter and Sybil Axsom Deckard.
He and Norma Jean Sturgeon were married July 15, 1944, in Nashville. She survives.
Mr. Deckard had worked at Cummins Engine Company in Columbus.
He was a member of Nashville's Fellowship Baptist Church, Nashville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Diesel Workers Union, American Legion, and the Bloomington Eagle and Moose lodges.
Mr. Deckard served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.
Other survivors include a daughter, Diane Hewitt of Nineveh; a son, Wendel Deckard of Columbus; three brothers, Prentice Deckard of Columbus, Arthur Deckard of Florida and Melvin Deckard of Bloomington; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ollen Deckard; and a grandson, Gary Deckard.
The Reverend Allen Straub led a service Tuesday, November 17, at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home on State Road 135 North.
Burial was in Duncan Cemetery off Yellowwood Road.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church.
Kathleen Duckett
Sprunica Road resident U. Kathleen Duckett died Friday, November 13, 1998, at the Brown County Community Care Center in Salt Creek Park. She was 77.
Mrs. Duckett was born August 2, 1921, in Connersville to the Reverend Henry M. and Guyola Royce Church.
She and Cecil W. Duckett were married October 17, 1942, in Trafalgar. He died October 30, 1997.
Mrs. Duckett and her husband are familiar to many families throughout the county for their hospitality and Christmas trees, both of which was offered at the couple's home in northern Brown County. The couple had owned and operated Tall Pine Christmas Tree Farm since 1962.
They had also owned and operated Ducket Television Sales and Service in Trafalgar from 1951 until 1959.
For thirty years, from 1960 until 1980, Mrs. Duckett owned Kay's Beauty Shop at Sprunica.
She was a member of Morgantown Order of the Eastern Star, Indiana Christmas Tree Growers Association, Model A Restorers Club in Columbus and Brown County Democratic Women.
Mrs. Duckett was graduated from Ausin High School in 1938 and Huffer Beauty College at Columbus in 1960.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Duckett of Bloomington; a son, Steve Duckett of Nashville, Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Beth A. Duckett, Maxx Duckett and Makenzie Duckett.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn J. Doty; and two brothers, Robert W. Church and James W. Church.
The Reverend Jonathan Hutchison and Tricia Souhrada will conduct a service today, November 18, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
Burial was in that community's East Hill Cemetery.

Essie Eisenmenger
Brown County resident Essie M. Rule Eisenmenger died Thursday, November 12, 1998. She was 85.
Mrs. Eisenmenger was born August 6, 1913, in Trafalgar to James F. and Lucinda Sosbe Rule.
She was married to John E. Eisenmenger Jr. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Eisenmenger was a homemaker.
She was a member of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Morgantown and Morgantown Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include four sons, Louis D. Eisenmenger of California, John E. Eisenmenger III of West Baden, Daniel A. Eisenmenger of Charleston, West Virginia and William E. Eisenmenger of Trafalgar; five daughters, Katherine Watkins of Dewitt, Arkansas, Emma C. Guckenheimer of Phoenix, Arizona, Frieda Milnes of Upper Salt Creek Road, Rebecca Eisenmenger of Florida and Wilma J. Bunch of Morgantown; 30 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
A service was conducted Monday, November 16, at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home.
Burial was in Johnson County's Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
