Billy Tuley
Hornettown Road resident Billy L. Tuley died Friday, March 1, 2002, at his residence. He was 72.
Born August 30, 1929, in Shelby County, he was the son of Henry C. and Jennie (Fishback) Tuley.
He married Catherine Stanford, and she preceded him in death in 1978.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Tuley was employed by Detroit Diesel Allison as a tool grinder for 36 years, retiring in 1987.
Renda Walls
Renda M. (Alexander) Walls, the mother of Trafalgar resident Richard Baugh, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002, at Owen Valley Health Campus. A resident of Spencer, she was 75.
Mrs. Walls had retired as manager of the Westside Cafe in Franklin.
Other survivors include three daughters, Nila Snapp, Margaret Lane and Rebecca Boucher, all of Spencer; and a brother, Howard "Buck" Alexander of Stanford.
A service was held Saturday, March 2, at West and Parrish and Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer.
Leslie Branham
Peoga Road resident Leslie H. "Les" Branham died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Todd Aikens Health Care in Franklin. He was 88.
Born November 29, 1913, in Burksville, Kentucky, he was the son of James W. "Dave" and Sallie Anderson Branham.
He and Nina M. Mattox were married Dec-ember 24, 1954, in Shelbyville. She survives.
A member of the Trafalgar Masonic Lodge, Mr. Branham worked for Hygrade Meat Packing Com-pany in Indiana-polis from 1948 until it closed in 1962.
Myrdith Brunnemer
Myrdith "Myrt" (Martin) Brunnemer died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Homeview Center of Franklin. A resident of Bargersville, she was 81.
Born July 29, 1920, on the Polk Farm in Greenwood, she was the daughter of John A. and Maude M. (Chitwood) Martin.
She and Howard D. Brunnemer were married May 22, 1937, in Greenwood. He died July 1, 1984.
Graduated from Greenwood High School in 1937, she was a member of Bargersville Christian Church, Bargersville Senior Citizens, and had served as the national president of Phi Delta Pi Sorority, and as the carnival chairperson of Mascatatuck State Hospital.
Jean Goss
Jean E. Goss died Friday, March 15, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. A resident of Martinsville, she was 67.
Born August 13, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland, she and Dewey Goss were married November 25, 1975. He survives.
Mrs. Goss had been a sales representative at Reilly Tar and Chemical in Indianapolis, retiring in 1990.
A member of St. Agnes Chapel in Nashville, she was very active with her church and grandchildren.
Wilma Halliburton
Wilma Grace (Newberry) Halliburton, the sister of Nashville resident Geneva McClure, died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Kindred Healthcare Center in Greenwood. A resident of Franklin, she was 83.
Born April 3, 1918, in Macon County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Bedford and Irene (Johnson) Newberry.
She and Forest E. Halliburton were married in 1935 in Macon County, Tennessee. He died February 12, 1985.
Employed as a factory worker at American Art and Clay in Speedway for 25 years, she retired in 1973.
Jane Hettich
Jane W. (Wyrick) Hettich, the mother of Trafalgar resident Jean F. Heminger, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Franklin United Methodist Community. A Franklin resident, she was 89.
Mrs. Hettich was director of alumni relations at Franklin College from 1954 until 1974.
Other survivors include a daughter, Jane H. Perry of Bloomington.
A memorial service was held Monday, March 18, at Wright Memorial Chapel at Franklin United Methodist Community.
Ruby Howard
Ruby Rose Howard, the mother of Cordry-Sweetwater resident Leslie Lynn Howard, died Monday, March 11, 2002, in Naples, Florida. A resident of Greenwood, and winter resident of Bonita Springs, Florida, she was 75.
Born April 1, 1926, in Sullivan County, she was the daughter of Ray and Pearl (Buck) McGhee.
She was graduated from Sullivan High School in 1944.
She and Carl S. Howard Jr. were married August 15, 1944. He survives.
Mrs. Howard and her husband owned and operated Howco Incorporated Truck Caps and Self-Storage in Whiteland.
Linda Holt-Mollin
Linda Holt-Mollin, the mother of Nashville resident Jill Leslie Pierce, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Bloomington Hospital. A resident of that city, she was 61.
She had been a secretary at the Indiana University Kelly School of Business since 2001.
Prior to that, she had worked for the state of Oregon’s treasury department, and had been a chemist with Oak Rubber of Ravenna, Ohio.
Other survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Forrester McKelvy of Fairfax, California; and two sisters, Nancy Mollin Michael of Chicago and Leslie Mollin of Medina, Ohio.
Veda Petro
Gould Street resident Veda I. Petro died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was 78.
Born April 5, 1923, in Columbus, she was the daughter of Raymond Ferguson and Murryl Burns.
She married Harold Petro, preceding her in death in 1998.
Retiring in 1974, Mrs. Petro was secretary for the school superintendent for 20 years.
Robert Richards
Brown County native Robert M. Richards died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Franklin Meadows. A resident of Morgantown, he was 89.
Born May 12, 1912, in Brown County, he was the son of Milton and Viola (Robertson) Richardson.
Graduated from Helms-burg High School in 1931, Mr. Richards was a US Navy veteran of World War II.
He and Jo-sephine Crafton were married in November 1936. She died in January 1942.
He then married Lillian M. Fenicle in May 1946, and she died in August 1976.
Violet Stovall
Aqua Isle Road resident Violet R. (Bohanon) Miller Stovall died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at her home. She was 84.
Born February 5, 1918, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Alva Bohanon and Ethel McMillan.
She was married to Rex C. Miller, preceding her in death in 1956. She then married Bill A. Stovall on June 28, 1958. He survives.
Mrs. Stovall was a homemaker, former co-owner of Indianapolis Pump Company and a member of Eastern Star-Southport and Brown County Gospel Music Church.
Terrell Turner
Terrell M. "Pete" Turner Sr., the father of Nashville resident William S. Lord, died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center. A resident of that city, he was 81.
Born November 27, 1920, in Hiseville, Kentucky, he was the son of Edwin Lewis and Nancy Olive Byrd Turner.
He and Ida Mae Stone were married in 1946, in Columbus. She died May 8, 1962.
He then married Blanche Turner on June 5, 1965, in Taylorsville. She survives.
Dorris Woodall
Long Street resident Dorris Louise Woodall died Wednesday morning, March 13, 2002, at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was 74.
Born April 13, 1927, in Nicholasville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of John and Mervin (James) Guy.
She married Curtis Woodall who preceded her in death.
A member of Trevlac Pentecostal church, Mrs. Woodall had been a broom-maker at Cullum Broom Factory in Helmsburg, retiring in 1986.
