Virginia Mae (Yancey) Pack, 80, of Indianapolis, died Sept. 21.
She was born Dec. 27, 1929, a daughter of the late Homer and Sarah Ann Melissa Pack Yancey.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Pack; five children, Jane (husband, Robert) Bonewits of Knightstown, Wayne (wife, Helen) Pack, Sandy (husband, Dennis) Willis, Dena (husband, Dennis) White, Rick (wife, Aileen) Pack and Alex Clark; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles E. Yancey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren and six siblings.
Funeral services were Sept. 25 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Indianapolis. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation was Sept. 24 at G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home in Greenwood.
Wilma M. VanDuyn
August 5, 1912 - October 4, 2010
Wilma M. (Catt) VanDuyn, 98, formerly of Green Township (Hancock County), died Oct. 4 at Regency Place Nursing Home in Greenfield.
She was born Aug. 5, 1912, in Butler, Ky., a daughter of the late Noble S. and Lora (Shoemaker) Catt.
A lifelong homemaker, Mrs. VanDuyn once served as a governess at the Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Children’s Home in Knightstown. She was a member of Eden United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna K. Gambrel of Greenfield, Marilyn (husband, Buddy) Dickerson of Greenfield and Carolyn Laing of Noblesville; a son, Thomas (wife, Sherry) VanDuyn of Greenfield; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mirl H. VanDuyn; a son, Russell VanDuyn; and a stepbrother, Herbert Powell.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Sally Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery in Eden. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the funeral home.

Charles L. Steigerwald
November 9, 1936 - October 11, 2010
Charles L. Steigerwald, 73, of Rushville, died Oct. 11 at the Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Nov. 9, 1936, in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late Leo and Hortense (Stauss) Steigerwald.
Mr. Steigerwald lived most of his life in Aurora and was a 1954 Aurora High School graduate. He was a high school football star, playing for the Aurora Red Devils. Mr. Steigerwald was employed as a typesetter at the Rushville Republican from 1971-1975. He also worked at Mayhill Publications in Knightstown from 1975-2003. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Corner Restaurant. Mr. Steigerwald was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra S. (Jackson) Steigerwald of Rushville; two sons, Michael and Christopher Steigerwald of Rushville; a daughter, Julie (husband, Greg) Shelton of Rushville; a brother, David Steigerwald of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Martha and Jeannie Steigerwald, and Betty (husband, Ludwig) Lager, all of Cincinnati; and three grandchildren, Bryce and Brandon Shelton and Laura Steigerwald.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Rev. William Turner officiating. Burial followed at East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. Visitation was Oct. 15 at the funeral home.
Jimmy Sexton
November 26, 1950 - October 9, 2010
Jimmy Sexton, 59, of Knightstown, formerly of Greenfield, died Oct. 9 at Rush Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born Nov. 26, 1950, in Whitesburg, Ky., a son of the late Werley Sexton and Elsie (Neice) Montgomery.
Mr. Sexton was a cabinet maker for David Cabinet Company in Portland, Tenn. He enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors and watching sports, especially football and wrestling.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Sexton of West Moreland, Tenn.; a son, Clay (wife, Amanda) Weesner of West Moreland; a stepson, James (wife, Sarah) Perry of Gallatin, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Angela Sexton of Gallatin, Tenn.; four grandsons; three step granddaughters, two brothers, Edward Sexton of Greenfield and James Sexton of Nicholsville, Ky.; a sister, Margie Glover of Carthage; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jasper Sexton; and a sister, Sharon Golob.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Joe Merriman officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services.

Jeff Rummel
January 26, 1956 - October 8, 2010
Jeff Rummel, 54, of Knightstown, died Oct. 8 at his home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1956, in Henry County, a son of Charles Rummel and the late Charlotta Mae "Lottie" (Hawk) Rummel.
Mr. Rummel enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, football and NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy (Brown) Rummel of Knightstown; two daughters, Kelly and Tracy Rummel; a grandson, Evan Thomas; his father, Charles Rummel; two brothers, Tim Rummel of Wilkinson and Randy (wife, Linda) Rummel of Knightstown; three sisters, Vicki (husband, Jeff) Toon of Manilla, Cathy Louise Rummel of Economy and Cammy (husband, Jeff) Theobald of New Castle; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Justin Theobald.
Funeral services were Oct. 13 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville with Rev. Marion L. Hickman officiating. Burial followed at Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation was Oct. 12 at the funeral home.

Janice Fannin Clark

Janice (Riley) Fannin Clark, 63, of Beech Grove, formerly of Carthage, died Oct. 8 at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
She was born Sept. 30, 1947, in Rushville, a daughter of Tony and Olive (Spence) Riley.
Mrs. Clark was a 1965 Carthage High School graduate. Most of her life she worked in management at hotels, restaurants and health care businesses. Most recently she was employed at a Salvation Army Store. She lived in Florida from 1979-1989; then she moved to Indianapolis. Mrs. Clark attended Cornerstone Nazarene Church. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing and crafts.
Survivors include her mother, Olive Riley of Shelbyville; two sons, Rodney (wife, Terri) Fannin of Calhan, Colo., and Boyd Fannin of Beech Grove; five grandchildren, Brittany, Clay, Wyatt, Garrett and Baileigh; two step grandchildren, Hannah and Dalton; a great-grandson, Ethan; and several cousins. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Clark.
Funeral services were Oct. 11 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation was Oct. 11 at the funeral home.

Virginia Moore
September 21, 1931 - October 7, 2010
Virginia (Carmichael) Moore, 79, died Oct. 7 at Country Home Health Care near Charlottesville.
She was born Sept. 21, 1931, a daughter of the late Nolan and Thelma (Gatewood) Fout. Mrs. Moore grew up on a Blue River Township farm and graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1949. She was a member of Eastern Star, Hancock County Extension Homemakers and Eden Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Jo Ann (husband, Roger) O’Neal and Jane Denis; a son, Dee B. Carmichael; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Melissa and Karli; 10 great-grandchildren; two stepchildren, Marcia and Jean; four step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Norman (wife, Patsy) Fout.
Private funeral services took place Oct. 11 at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson handled arrangements.
