Donald R. Wisehart

Donald R. "Donnie" Wisehart, 58, of Shirley, died Sept. 4 at his home.
He was born May 22, 1952, in Greenfield, a son of Helen (Ebbert) Wisehart and the late Gene Wisehart.
Mr. Wisehart retired from Delco Remy in Anderson after 30 years of service. He was a lifelong farmer. An avid The Price is Right fan, he also enjoyed all kinds of tractor pulls.
Survivors include his wife, Judy, of Shirley; a son, Brian (wife, Holly) Wisehart of Kokomo; a daughter, Tracy (husband, Chris) Austin of Shirley; three stepsons, Gene (wife, Charity) Maxwell of Charlottesville, Scott (wife, Chana) Maxwell of Greenfield and Christopher Maxwell of Shirley; a brother, Dale (wife, Kathi) Wisehart of Shirley; a sister, Diana (wife, John) Masters of Kennard; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at McCracy Cemetery in Wilkinson with David Bonne officiating. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson.
William R. Copeland
December 17, 1922 - September 2, 2010
William R. "Bill" Copeland, 87, of rural Lewisville, died Sept. 2 at The Waters in New Castle.
He was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Spiceland, a son of the late Carroll and Gladys (Chew) Copeland.
Mr. Copeland was a 1940 Spiceland High School graduate, who worked at Chrysler Corporation in New Castle following graduation. He joined the U.S. Army on Jan. 14, 1943, and was discharged at the rank of staff sergeant on Nov. 19, 1945. Mr. Copeland received the Purple Heart medal with one bronze cluster for wounds he sustained at Barendorf and Annacount, France. Following his wartime service, he returned home to farm, raising livestock and grain. Mr. Copeland lived on his current farm for 55 years and was a member of Spiceland Methodist Church and the Spiceland American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Stella H. (Houchins) Copeland; three brothers, Max (wife, Janet) Copeland and Richard Copeland, all of Indianapolis, and Paul Copeland of New Castle; a sister, Jonell Green of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Sept. 7 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville with Pastor Carol Wiley of Spiceland Methodist Church and David Brock of Spiceland Friends Church officiating. Burial followed at Dunreith Cemetery. Visitation was Sept. 6 at the funeral home.
Taylor Alan Litten
October 14, 1988 - August 31, 2010
Taylor Alan Litten, 21, of Greensburg, died Aug. 31 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Oct. 14, 1988.
Funeral services were Sept. 3 at First Baptist Church in Greensburg with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Burial followed at South Park Cemetery in Greensburg.
Elizabeth A. Jackson
November 2, 1921 - September 12, 2010
Elizabeth A. (Bright) Jackson, 88, of Fishers, died Sept. 12 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born Nov. 2, 1921, in Markleville, a daughter of the late Jacob and Opal (Railsback) Bright.
Mrs. Jackson worked for several years at Western Electric in Indianapolis. She was a past member of Shirley Methodist Church, Martha Circle and Greenfield Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Marilyn Carlton of Shirley, Janet Reeves of Greenfield and Patsy Baker of Anderson; two sons, Tim (wife, Miriam) Jackson of Plainfield and Jeff (wife, Karen) Jackson of Fishers; three grandchildren, Brian Jackson of Carmel, April Jackson of Pittsboro and Tyler Jackson of Fishers; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew Harris, Jared Harris and Ryan Harris, all of Pittsboro, and Audrey Jackson of Carmel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jon Bright and Leon Bright; and a sister, Reona Phillips.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson with Rev. Ron Mercer officiating. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson.
Arnold E. Hirsch
February 22, 1922 - September 11, 2010
Arnold E. Hirsch, 88, of Greenfield, died Sept. 11 at Regency Place in Greenfield.
He was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Woodburn, a son of the late Fred and Anna (Doehrman) Hirsch.
Mr. Hirsch was a retired farmer and carpenter. He enjoyed woodworking, making cabinets and furniture. A former rural mail carrier, he also enjoyed traveling with his family. Mr. Hirsch was a golfer and a former pitcher for a Fort Wayne area baseball team. An avid gardener, he was a longtime member of Charlottesville Christian Church. Mr. Hirsch recently joined Shirley Christian Church and was a member of Gideon’s International.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn (Miller) Hirsch; two daughters, Janet (husband, Gary) Sickle of Greenfield and Karen Hirsch of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Bethany Sickle of Greenfield; a grand son, Zachary Sickle of Greenfield; a sister, Irene (husband, Gene) Hauke of New Haven; a brother, Kenneth (wife, Sandy) Hirsch of Woodburn; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elda Augenstein; and a brother-in-law, Donald Augenstein.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Gary Sickle officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shirley Christian Church.
Charles Lloyd Johns
December 13, 1930 - September 11, 2010
Charles Lloyd Johns, 79, of Wilkinson, died Sept. 11 at Golden Living Center in Greenfield.
He was born Dec. 13, 1930, in Wilkinson, a son of the late Earl and Vivian (McCallister) Johns.
Mr. Johns worked for 37 years at Container Corporation of America, retiring in 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Johns of Sydney, Ohio, and Barry Johns of Greenfield; a daughter, Marnie Miller of Wilkinson; two sisters, Alice Brown of Greenwood and Jackie Anderson of Medford, Ore.; granddaughters, Kaitlynn Johns of Shirley, Amy Johns of Vero Beach, Fla., and Amber Millhouse of Sydney, Ohio; a grandson, Chad Johns of Sydney, Ohio; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly (Hilligoss) Johns; a brother, Roy Johns; and two sisters, Carolyn McGill and Judy Arnold.

Regina Anderson
November 6, 1936 - September 10, 2010
Regina Anderson, 73, of Knightstown, died Sept. 10 at her son’s home.
She was born Nov. 6, 1936, a daughter of Alonzo and Olga (McGowan) Tarter.
Mrs. Anderson was a 1957 Knightstown High School graduate and a lifelong Knightstown resident. She retired from the Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Children’s Home in 2002 after 24 years of service. She was a member of Knightstown American Legion Post 152 Auxiliary for several years.
Survivors include two sons, Omer Edward (wife, Kim) Rudicil III of Knightstown and Brian Keith (wife, Brandy) Rudicil of Rushville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth (wife, Marla) Tarter of New Mexico. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Anderson; and an infant son, Robert Lee Anderson.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Pastor Danny Tompkins officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 12 p.m. until time of services on Sept. 18.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Walter Jay Ream
July 23, 1928 - September 10, 2010
Walter Jay Ream, 82, of Greenfield, died Sept. 10 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born July 23, 1928, in Dennison, Ohio, a son of the late Thomas William and Ethel L. (Wardell) Ream.
Mr. Ream served as a U.S. Navy medic during World War II. He was a member of Shirley Christian Church and Knightstown American Legion Post 152. From 1950-1956 he managed a Woolworth Store in the tri-state area. From 1968-1974, he was a food director for Huddle Systems in Indianapolis. Mr. Ream also served as a food health inspector for the Hancock County Health Department from 1996-2008.
Survivors include his wife, M. Joan (Lutz) Ream of Greenfield; a son, Walter Jay Ream, Jr. of Greenfield; five daughters, Shirlee Marie (husband, Rod) La Huis of Grand Rapids, Mich., Laura Lee (husband, Mike) Shively of Shelbyville, Deborah Lynn (husband, Dave) Ross of Greenfield, Sheila Jo (husband, Ron) Steele of Indianapolis and Sarah Jane (husband, Jerry) Brain of Indianapolis; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas M. Ream of Junction City, Ohio, David Ream of Lancaster, Ohio, and Donald M. Ream of Melbourne, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wesley Ream; a grandson, Chad Aaron La Huis; and two sisters, Betty Jean Jenkins and Lois Mae Burbacher.
Funeral services were Sept. 14 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Gary Sickle officiating. Burial, with full military graveside rites, followed at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was Sept. 13 at the funeral home.
