Susan Bauknecht, 56, of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Shirley, died June 29 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
She was born Feb. 18, 1954, in Greenfield, a daughter of Corty Christian and Bonnie (Saul) Christian Kuhn.
Mrs. Bauknecht was employed at several hospitals as a cardiac cauterization nurse. She was formerly employed by the government in the prisons, veterans and creative corrections departments.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Bauknecht of Virginia; a son, Bradley (wife, LaShauma) Bauknecht of Florida; a daughter, Jennifer (husband, Eric) English of Florida; three grandsons, Kayden and Parker Bauknecht of Florida and Nolan English of Florida; a granddaughter, Savannah Bauknecht of Florida; two nephews, Wade Christian of Indiana and Kevin Songster of Virginia; a niece, Carlynn Frierbach of Utah; her mother- and father-in-law, Lorraine and Fred Bauknecht of Florida; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Songster of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Christian; and her stepfather, Dr. Robert Kuhn.
Funeral services were July 3 at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson with Rev. Jenny Charles officiating. Visitation was July 2 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson.
Kevin Scott Perkins, Sr.
May 10, 1965 - June 26, 2010
Kevin Scott Perkins, Sr., 45, of Knightstown, died June 26 in New Orleans, La.
He was born May 10, 1965, in New Castle, a son of Helen S. (Mitchell) Davis and the late Brent Perkins.
Mr. Perkins lived in Knightstown most of his life and attended school here. He was a plumber, employed for many years by Stearns Construction in Knightstown. He served in the Indiana National Guard. Mr. Perkins moved to Louisiana three years ago. He enjoyed fishing, camping, swimming, listening to music and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include three children, Shawna Marie Perkins of New Castle, Janelle Ann Perkins of Knightstown and Kevin Scott Perkins, Jr., of Charlottesville; his mother, Helen S. (Mitchell) Davis of Muncie; two granddaughters, Shiann and Kelsie Isenhour; two sisters, Linda S. Smith of New Castle and Michelle D. Chambers of Muncie; a brother, Brent A. Perkins of Spiceland; and his maternal grandmother, Ruth L. Mitchell of Spiceland.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jessica Sue Perkins; a brother, Brent Hobert Perkins; his maternal grandfather, Hobert Mitchell; and his paternal grandparents, Henry and Julie (Garland) Perkins.
Following cremation, visitation was July 3 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville. Burial will take place at a later date at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland.
Marjorie E. Maynard
September 20, 1926 - July 10, 2010
Marjorie E. (Freeman) Maynard, 83, of Greenfield, died July 10 at her home.
She was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Maywood, Ill., a daughter of the late William and LaVaughn (Graff) Freeman.
Mrs. Maynard was a 1944 Carthage High School graduate who worked in the Hancock County clerk’s office for 16 years before retiring in 1988. She previously owned a restaurant in Arlington and was a waitress at The Bluebird in Morristown. Mrs. Maynard was a member of Dunreith Christian Church and was a former Brownie leader. She enjoyed crafts.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (wife, Jean) Carwein of Greenfield, Debra (husband, Don) Drake-Stahl of Greenfield, Garrett B. (wife, Shelly) Maynard Jr., of Greenfield, and Brent Maynard of Indianapolis; a sister, Jane Farringer of Spiceland; seven grandchildren; five great-grand children; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Carroll Drake and Garrett B. Maynard, Sr.,; and a son, Danny Joe Drake.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Visitation is July 14 from 11 a.m. until time of services.

Ina Jessup
January 21, 1916 - July 7, 2010
Ina Jessup, 94, of Mulberry, formerly of Shirley, died July 7 at Mulberry Health Care.
She was born Jan. 21, 1916, in Rush County, a daughter of the late James C. and Florence (Stevens) Stephens.
Mrs. Jessup lived in Shirley for over 60 years. She was a member of Shirley United Methodist Church and was a 50-year member and past matron of Shirley Order of the Eastern Star #492. Mrs. Jessup also belonged to Helping Hands Home Ec Club, Shirley Senior Citizens, Shirley Historical Society and the Shirley Octagon House. She also served as a member of the Indiana Grand Chapter Publicity Committee and was past-president of Martha Circle and Ester Circle, as well as past president of district’s past matron group.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie (husband, Ken) Bodkin of Lafayette; grandchildren, Brandi Baxter, Nathan Bodkin, Dana Ditto, Robert Jessup, James Jessup, Dee Jessup, Pat Bennett, Perry Bennett and Paul Bennett; two brothers, Leo (wife, Colleen) Stephens and Leon (wife, Joyce) Stephens; and a sister, Cathrin Hennemann.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Omer; two sons, DeWayne and Frank Jessup; a brother, Gene Stevens; and two sisters, Helen Simmons and Lara Walters.
Funeral services were July 10 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Burial followed at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was July 9 with Shirley Easter Star services included.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shirley United Methodist Church.
Richard "Kelly" Clore
January 9, 1943 - July 15, 2010
Richard "Kelly" Clore, 67, of New Castle, died July 15 at his home.
He was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., a son of the late Charles and Marcella McHenry.
Mr. Clore graduated from Aurora High School in 1962 and earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Franklin College in 1966. In 1972 he received a master’s degree from Purdue University. Mr. Clore was a teacher and coach at Perry Meridian High School for 28 years, retiring in 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Babbitt Clore; two sisters, Susan Namei of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kathy Hayes of Moore’s Hill; two sons, Charles T. "Chad" Clore, II, of Dodgeville, Wis., and Todd M. Clore of Alisa Viejo, Cal.; a stepdaughter, Robin Chester of Muncie; and nine grandchildren, Erica Tompkins, Ashley Weeks, Oliver Tompkins, Roamyn Grant, Tanner Clore, Hayden Clore, Taylor Clore, Jordan Clore and Brandon Clore.
Funeral services were July 25 at Valle Vista Golf Club in Greenwood.

Robert C. Dayle
September 16, 1946 - July 26, 2010
Robert C. "Bob" Dayle, 63, of Knightstown, died July 26 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle.
He was born Sept. 16, 1946, in Fon du Lac, Wis., a son of the late Jerome and Joanna (Forster) Dreifurst.
Mr. Dayle moved to Knightstown from Cambridge City in 1996. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as an electronics technician in the circuit board industry, and was an avid conchologist and a member of CFI in Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Hartman; a stepson, Samuel J. Hartman of Louisville, Ky., and three sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother.
Funeral services will take place at the family’s convenience. Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville is handling arrangements.
Walter B. Judd
November 13, 1939 - July 26, 2010
Walter B. Judd, 70, of Carthage, died July 26 at his home.
He was born Nov. 13, 1939, in Fairfax, Ohio.
Mr. Judd retired from the U.S. Army in 1978. He also retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He served as a military policeman and was third in command in the provost marshal’s office at Fort Benjamin Harrison. Mr. Judd was awarded the soldiers’ medal of heroism and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. An avid fisherman and golfer, he was known as some one who was always willing to help others in need. He enjoyed spending time with his grand children.
Survivors include four children, Michael W. (wife, Debbie) Judd of Indianapolis, Cory T. (wife, Kelly) Judd of Knightstown, Heather (husband, Chuck) Stephens of Carthage and Matthew B. Judd of Carthage; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara (husband, John) Butler of Detroit, Mich., and Joanne White of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and a granddaughter.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Rev. Richard Thayer officiating. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at the funeral home.
