Christopher W. Paugh, 30, of Knightstown, died October 12 at his home. He was born Jan. 18, 1977, in New Castle, a son of Walter Paugh and Pam (Zeilinga) Paugh.
Mr. Paugh was a 1995 Knightstown High School graduate and a graduate of ITT Technical Institute. He enjoyed motor cross racing and won over 200 trophies. He also enjoyed other outdoor activities such as fishing and swimming. Mr. Paugh enjoyed listening to music, watching football, wrestling and kickboxing. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Zanny. Survivors include his parents; a sister, Michele Paugh of Henry County; two nephews, Cody Juday of Carthage and Peyton Inman; a niece, Keianna Paugh; his paternal grandmother, Charlotte (husband, Tim) Tolen of Fairland; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Joan Zeilinga; and his paternal grandfather, Robert Paugh.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Roger Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation was October 16 at the funeral home.
Georgia J. Shutt

Georgia J. (Sawyer) Shutt, 80, of Knightstown, died Oct. 11, 2007, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
She was born April 2, 1927, in Shepardsville, a daughter of the late Bernice and Louise (Brockmier) Sawyer.
Mrs. Shutt lived most of her life in Knightstown. She worked as a mailer for Mayhill Publications. She married Frank Shutt on Oct. 27, 1961. She was a member of Knightstown American Legion Post 152 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Shutt enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Shutt of Knightstown; three daughters, Karen (husband, Walter) Harper, Diana Edington and Bobbie Overton, all of Macon, Ga.; three sisters, Ruth Dellacca of Carbon, Mary Breece of Indianapolis and Daisy Coleman of Terre Haute; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister. Funeral services were October 15 at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown with Rev. David Bonne officiating. Burial followed in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Visitation was October 14 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Joyce Marie Hendershott

Joyce Marie Hendershott, 85, a former longtime Knightstown resident, died October 6 at Regency Place Nursing Home in Greenfield.
She was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Brookville, a daughter of the late Ben and Lottie (Smith) Manning.
Mrs. Hendershott was a Navy Wave who served during World War II. She married Gene Hendershott. Mrs. Hendershott worked at Indiana Knitware and Jackwell Casket, where she was an assembly worker. She was also a housewife.
Survivors include two sons, Keane (wife, Melissa) Hendershott of Herrington, Kan., and Mark (wife, Julie) Hendershott of Carthage; three sisters, Alroma Holmes of Anderson, Edith Tude Smith of Pendleton and Gloria Poteet of Anderson; and a granddaughter, Cassandra Hendershott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; two brothers; and a daughter-in-law.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. There is no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home.
Robert E. Hood

Robert E. Hood, 82, of New Castle, formerly of Rushville, died October 11 at Henry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Rush County, a son of the late Oscar Lee and Bertha (Miller) Hood.
Mr. Hood was a 1943 Rushville High School graduate. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II. Self-employed most of his life, he had worked at International Furniture. Mr. Hood was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Mildred Noel of Rushville, Rose Ann Adkins of Knightstown and Theresa Noah of Milton; a brother, Anthony Hood of Connersville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were October 15 at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Major Marilyn Sue Riggs of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial followed at East Hill Cemetery in Arlington. Visitation was one hour prior to services on Monday.
Bettie Marie Weiser

Bettie Marie Weiser, 88, of Barefoot Bay, Fla., died October 21 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla.
She was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Lake Worth, Fla., a daughter of the late Noah and Grace (Harris) Kline. Mrs. Weiser was a civil servant for 23 years prior to her retirement. She married Robert Weiser on June 9, 1956. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Knightstown.
Survivors include two sons, Charles David Brown of Vienna, Ga., and Phillip C. Brown of Palm Springs, Fla.; a brother, Harley L. Kline of Sturat, Fla.; and one grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday, October 26, at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation is 12-2 p.m. on Friday, October 26 at the funeral home.
James E. Roy

James E. Roy, 67, of Knightstown, died October 28 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born May 12, 1940, in Jabez, Ky., a son of the late Eddie A. and Lola (Frye) Roy.
Mr. Roy served as a U.S. Army tank operator during the Korean War. He guarded the demilitarized zone (DMZ) for over 13 months. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle in March 1999. Mr. Roy enjoyed hunting and bluegrass music.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Knightstown; two daughters, Tonya Roy of Rockton, Ill., and Nyoka Renea (husband, Ed) Stone of Benton, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Cpl. Angela Michelle Perry of Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Cody and Caleb Asberry, both of Knightstown; brothers and sisters, Barb Norfleet of Carthage, Doris Stewart of Carthage, Gary (wife, Jean) Roy of Knightstown, Darlus Johnson of Anderson, Phillip Roy of New Castle, Roger (wife, Patty) Roy of New Castle, Sharon (husband, Floyd) Steward of Anderson, Sue (husband, Rick) Moore of Brownsburg and Ronnie (friend, Joyce) Roy of Needles, Cal.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Roger Roy II; and two brothers-in-law, Junior Norfleet and Bobby Johnson.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 1, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel, with Revs. Gene Bennett and Nathan Brewington officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Owen Jordan Lee Conley, infant son of James J. Conley and Amanda Winship, both of Carthage, died October 29 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his maternal grandfather, David (wife, Diane) Winship of Carthage; paternal grandparents, Benjamin and LeNora Conley of Carthage; paternal great-grandparents, James and Patricia Mosley of Carthage; two uncles, Benjamin Conley Jr. of Greenfield and David Winship Jr. of Carthage; and an aunt, Tabitha Winship of Carthage.
Graveside funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Carthage Cemetery with Rev. Charles Stroud officiating. Burial will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Owen Jordan Lee Conley memorial fund in care of Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel, which is handling arrangements.
