Cleta Belle Arbogast Bernot

Cleta Bella Arbogast Bernot, 97, a former Losantville resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Willow Crossing Health Care Center in Columbus.
She was born Jan. 11, 1909 in Randolph County, the daughter of the late Clinton and Matilda Arbogast.
Mrs. Bernot was a Losantville High School graduate who later graduated from the Chicago Training School of Business and Clerical Studies. She lived most of her life in Chicago where she worked in the offices of Swift and Company for 40 years. Mrs. Bernot was a faithful volunteer at Columbus Hospital in Chicago and was a lifelong member of United Methodist churches in Losantville and Chicago.
Survivors include two nieces, Mary F. (husband, John) Pelton of Franklin and Ruth Panghorn of Michigan City; a nephew, William (wife, Amy) Panghorn of Losantville; great nieces and nephews, Joan Lietz of Indianapolis, Daniel Eudaly of Indianapolis, John Jeffery (wife, Donna) Panghorn and Tracy Moffitt, both of Michigan City, Greg William (wife, Sherrie) Panghorn of Lynn, Gwen (husband, Jeff) Glotfelty of McCordsville and Melanie (husband, Dean) Cardamore of Carmel; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Mae Panghorn, and two nephews, Frank and John Panghorn.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Riverside Cemetery near Losantville. There was no visitation. Main & Davis Astor Main Blue River Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Glen Ballenger
July 12, 1938 – Feb. 14, 2006
Gen Ballenger, 67, of Indianapolis, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Community Nursing and Rehab Center in Indianapolis.
He was born July 12, 1938, in Jamestown, Ky., a son of the late Cellia and Mary (Lawless) Ballenger.
Mr. Ballenger retired in 2001 from IPT in Greenfield. He had worked for several Ford dealerships in Indianapolis, where he served as service manager.
Survivors include his wife, Louise (Masters) Ballenger of Indianapolis; two daughters, Donna Ballenger of Indianapolis, and Lisa (husband, AJ) Smith, also of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Jordan Smith of Indianapolis; four brothers, Johnny Ballenger, Lee Ballenger, Earl Ballenger and Gary Ballenger, all of Jamestown, Ky.; three sisters, Alene Pennington of Dayton, Ohio, Pauletta Stoyell of Jamestown, Ky., and Betty Starnes of Louisville, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Ballenger.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Paul Masters officiating. Burial followed in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Nemuel R. Albea
July 7, 1941 – Feb. 19, 2006
emuel R. Albea, 64, of Anderson, died Sunday, Feb. 19 at Community Hospital in Anderson.
He was born July 7, 1941, a son of the late Nemuel Albert Albea and Cecile Fern (Cook) Albea, who survives.
Mr. Albea graduated from Hancock Central High School and Ball State University. He also attended Franklin College. He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson after 32 years of service. Mr. Albea was also a real estate broker and worked for Pendleton Community Library. An avid golfer and chess player, he was a member of Daleville Masonic Lodge #730.
Survivors include is wife, Aileen Rose (Paredes) Albea of Anderson; his mother; a son, Jeff (wife, Debbie) Albea of Pendleton; two daughters, Shelly (husband, Tim) Harvey of Noblesville, and Jeri Anne Cleckley of Anderson; a brother, Richard (wife, Beverly) Albea of Anderson; five sisters, Dianne (husband, Phillip) Martin of Illinois, Linda (husband, Conrad) Smith of Indianapolis, Loretta (husband, Stan) Kroin of Indianapolis, Cheri (husband, John) Perrin of Ohio, and Jayne (husband, Mike) McCubbins of Greenfield; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nemuel Albert Albea, and a sister, Patricia Albea.
Funeral services are at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Sally Dickerson of Eden United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation is two hours prior to funeral services. Masonic services start at 7 p.m. Private burial will take place Mendon Cemetery.
David L. Craig
ept. 30, 1941 – Feb. 20, 2006
David L. Craig, 64, of Knightstown, died Monday, Feb. 20, at his home.
He was born Sept. 30, 1941, in Terre Haute, a son of the late James W. and Doyne Evinger Stevens.
Mr. Craig retired from Delphi of General Motors Corporation in 2004 after 39 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 662. Mr. Craig was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Barbara Craig of Knightstown; four step-children, Robert S. (wife, Sandra) Jackson of Carthage, Debra Jackson of Indianapolis, Treesa (husband, Keith) Jarvis of Knightstown, and James (wife, Sherri) Jackson of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Angel (husband, Bryce) Graddy of Middletown, Steven (wife, Amy) Jackson of Knightstown, Misty Strother (fiance, Alan Jarvis) of Springport, Amber Jarvis of Knightstown, Jacob Jackson of Carthage, David Jackson of Carthage and Caleb Jackson of New Castle; and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James A. Craig.
Private funeral services will take place at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Hinshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
David Green
Sept. 30, 1936 – March 18, 2006
David Green, 69, of Greenfield, died Saturday, March 18, at St. John’s Medical Center in Anderson.
He was born Sept. 30, 1936, in Anderson, the son of the late Arlie and Dolly (Relliford) Green.
In 1996, Mr. Green retired from Delco-Remy in Anderson after 30 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Bea (Whetsel) Green of Greenfield; two step-daughters, Jean Potts of Greenfield and Pam (husband, Jeff) Smith of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Gary Wilson of Indianapolis, Stacy Potts of Greenfield, Christy (husband, Shane) Lewis of Greenfield and Brian (wife, Jean) Potts of Greenfield; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack Green.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Ernie Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery in Eden. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Janet Elaine Marsh
Sept. 2, 1943 – March 18, 2006
Janet Elaine (Holt) Marsh, 62, of Carthage, died Friday, March 18, at Northgate Health Care Center in Marion.
She was born Sept. 2, 1942, in Milan, a daughter of the late John and Lorena Holt.
Mrs. Marsh was a homemaker who enjoyed going to yard sales and collecting nic-nacs.
Survivors include six grandchildren; two sons, Jarman Spurlock of Indiana, and Richard (wife, Denise) Marsh of Indianapolis; four daughters, Belinda (husband, Shannon) Foster of Greenfield, Earlene Groffon of Shelbyville, Pam Spurlock of Greenfield and Dixie Marsh of Shelbyville; two brothers, Larry (wife, Marsha) Holt and Richard (wife, Joyce) Holt, both of Milan; one sister, Joan (husband, Chad) Hayes of Milan; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Holt, Donald (Fiddle) Holt and William Holt.
Funeral services are private and there will be no public visitation. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Main & Davis Funeral Home, Broad Street Chapel, in New Castle.
Delores J. Wilkerson
Oct. 28, 1934 – March 18, 2006
Delores J. Wilkerson, 71, of Knightstown, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 18, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
She was born Oct. 28, 1934, a daughter of the late Russell and Beulah (Pitts) VanDuyn.
Mrs. Wilkerson was a former Cub Scout leader and a former member of Knightstown Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Wilkerson was also an avid fan of college basketball, especially Indiana University.
Survivors include her husband, Chalmer Wilkerson of Knightstown; two sons, Steve (wife, Betsy) Wilkerson and Jeff (wife, Debbie) Wilkerson, both of Knightstown; five grandchildren, Heather, Abby, Emmie, Ashlee and Jace Wilkerson, all of Knightstown; two brothers, Bill VanDuyn of Anderson and Tom Hexamer of Greenwood; one sister, Sue Smith of New Salem; a brother-in-law, Chalen Wilkerson of Shirley; a sister-in-law, Kay Wilkerson of New Trenton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Pauline VanDuyn, and a brother, Gerald VanDuyn.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel, with Rev. Richard Thayer officiating. Burial followed in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at the funeral home.
