Joyce Percell

Joyce Percell, 65, of Arlington, died Saturday, November 5, at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. She was born January 25, 1940, in Rush County, a daughter of the late Fred and Marcella (Moore) Mann.
She married David Percell Nov. 22, 1962; he survives.
Mrs. Percell was a lifelong resident of Arlington. She was a 1958 graduate of Arlington High School and had worked as a nurse’s aide at Rush Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Percell was a member of Hannegan Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Tina (husband, Bradd) Stamm of Carthage, Jannet Rush of Indianapolis, and Cindi Percell of Columbus; one brother, Dennis (wife, Melinda) Mann of Arlington; one sister, Karen (husband, Fred) Lee of Arlington; and three grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with the Rev. Warren Engle officiating. Burial followed in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home.

Russell V. Hunt
Sept. 4, 1927 – Nov. 3, 2005
Russell V. Hunt, 78, of Spiceland died Thursday, November 3 in Henry County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born September 4, 1927 in Hancock County to the late Jehu and Stella Mae (Steele) Hunt.
A Spiceland resident for 49 years, Mr. Hunt retired from Carpenters Union Local #1016 in Muncie in 1990 after many years of service. He was Commander of Spiceland American Legion Post #146 and was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8257. He enjoyed coon hunting, target shooting, woodworking and loved horses and fishing. His favorite thing was being a grandpa.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy L. Hunt of Spiceland; five children, Darrell (wife Janet) Craft, Debbie (husband Larry) Bever, Russell A. (wife Melanie) Hunt and Linda (husband Tom) Gideon, all of Spiceland, and Brian Hunt (companion Kathy Ferrell) of Middletown; 10 grandsons, Mike and Patrick Craft, Jason and Chad Bever, Russell Hunt Jr., Brad Fox, Matthew and Charlie Hunt and Travis and Casey Gideon; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Vesta Hunt of Silver Springs, Fla.; and one niece, Toni Winfree, also of Silver Springs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Fox in 2000; a brother, Horace Hunt; and a sister, Margie Hunt.
Services were held Monday, November 7 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service at the Knightstown Chapel with Morris Smoot officiating. Burial was in Circle Grove Cemetery. Visitation was held at the funeral home Sunday, November 6.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Cancer Society.
Ruby J. Huse
Oct. 24, 1925 – Nov. 9, 2005
Ruby J. (Jackson) Huse, 80, of Knightstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Indianapolis.
She was born Oct. 24, 1925 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Gobel and Rushia Jackson.
Mrs. Huse retired from Western Electric after over 22 years of service. She was a member of the Knightstown American Legion Post 152 Auxiliary and the Business and Professional Women’s Club. Mrs. Huse was also a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of over 54 years, Elmer Huse of Knightstown; a daughter, Jeannie (husband, Emmons) Berry of Indianapolis; two sons, Sam Hurd of Marshall, Ill., and Rex (wife, Nancy) Huse of Mulberry; one step-son; two step-daughters; two grandchildren, Chris Wisner of Indianapolis, and Taylor Huse of Mulberry; three great grandchildren, Julian Wisner, Jackson Wisner and Mali Wisner, all of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mary Wells and Jackie Coffman, both of Knightstown; one brother, Jim (wife, Virginia) Jackson of Knightstown; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alexander, Shelton and Malcolm Jackson.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Chris Lee officiating. Burial followed in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, at the funeral home.
Robert E. Jones
Dec. 9, 1925 – Nov. 13, 2005
Robert E. Jones, 79, of Knightstown, died Sunday, Nov. 13, at Americare Nursing Center in New Castle.
He was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Indianapolis, a son of the late Alva and Edith (Downey) Jones.
Mr. Jones was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and the American Legion. He was a loving husband enjoyed working on cars.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Jones of Knightstown; seven children, Judy (husband, Dave) Peterson of Grand Rapids, Minn., George Jones of Minneapolis, Minn., Larry (wife, Marge) Jones, Linda (husband, Dennis) Olson, Pam Jones, and Robert Jones, all of St. Paul, Minn., Jerry (wife, Jeannine) Jones of St. Francis, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five siblings, Francis Anderson, Dorothy Ritton, Richard (wife, Virginia) Jones, Charles (wife, Judy) Jones, Norman (wife, Edna) Jones; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Jones, and a brother, Ross Jones.
Funeral services were at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Rev. Larry Delon officiating. Burial followed in Marion National Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Robert E. Jones Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
Nancy L. Hunt
Aug. 10, 1931 – Nov. 14, 2005
Nancy L. Hunt, 74, of Spiceland, died Monday, Nov. 14, in her home following a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 10, 1931 in Fleming County, Ky., a daughter of the late Isaac Edward and Laura Jane (Pitts) Hamilton.
A Spiceland resident for the last 49 years, Mrs. Hunt enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and being a homemaker. She was also involved in a local M.A.S.H. group.
Survivors include five children, Darrell (wife, Janet) Craft, Debbie (husband, Larry) Bever, Russell A. (wife, Melanie) Hunt, Linda (husband, Tom) Gideon, all of Spiceland, and Brian (companion, Kathy Ferrell) of Middletown; 10 grandsons, Mike Craft, Patrick Craft, Jason Bever, Chad Bever, Russell Hunt, Jr., Brad Fox, Matthew Hunt, Charlie Hunt, Travis Gideon, and Casey Gideon; one granddaughter, Dawneil Hall; 13 great grandchildren; three sisters, Lola Mae Porter of Hamilton, Ohio, Eldred Logan of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Pauline Porter of Knightstown; two brothers, Clayton Hamilton of New Castle and Forrest Glen Hamilton of Sulphur Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Russell V. Hunt on Nov. 3, 2005; a grandson, Brian Fox, and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown. Funeral services will be private. Burial will take place in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Gracie W. Maynard
Sept. 6, 1927 – Nov. 19, 2005
Gracie W. Maynard, 78, died Saturday, Nov. 19, at Heritage House Convalescent Center in New Castle following a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Jabez, Ky., a daughter of the late Luther and Rachel (Bolin) Wiggington.
An avid gardener, Mrs. Maynard also enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and singing. She was a Christian who attended Cook’s Chapel in Jabez. In 2005, Mrs. Maynard was crowned Valentine’s Day Queen at Heritage House.
Survivors include nine children, Willard Maynard, Janice Davis, Larry and Gary Maynard, Royce and Joyce Maynard, and Winford Glenn Maynard; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Tommy Wiggington of Greenfield; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Huff; a brother, Carlos Wiggington; two sisters, Lula Butcher and Dorothy Polston.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. (Central Standard Time) at Military Springs Cemetery in Jabez, Ky., with Rev. Herb Godsey officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gracie W. Maynard Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
Robert G. Taylor
Aug. 14, 1925 – Nov. 18, 2005
Robert G. “Bob” Taylor, 80, of Greenfield, died Friday, Nov. 18, at his home.
He was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Spiceland, a son of the late William H. and Hazel (Ratliff) Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Purdue University. He also earned a master’s degree from Ball State University. He retired from Eastern Hancock High School in 1987 after 32 years of service as a guidance counselor and high school math and chemistry teacher. Mr. Taylor was an avid breeder, trainer and racer of standard bred “trotter” race horses, a hobby he shared with many friends. He was a member of Spiceland United Methodist Church and an associate member of Bradley United Methodist Church in Greenfield.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn M. Taylor; two brothers, Fred D. Taylor and William J. Taylor, both of Florida; nieces and nephews, Connie Peters, Stephen Taylor, Greg Taylor, Mark Taylor and Shari Hendrickson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland with Pastor Brian Campbell officiating. Visitation was from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
