Charlotte P. Bricker

Charlotte P. Bricker, 77, a resident of Greenfield, and formerly of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Tuesday, December 23 at Brandywine Manor Convalescent Center. She was born June 21, 1926 in Brookville, a daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Burton) Holden.
Mrs. Bricker retired in 1972 after 27 years of service for the Indianapolis office of the IRS.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews: Bonnie (husband Max) Riggs of Markleville, Paul Stevens of Pendleton, Charles (wife Betty) Holden of Shirley, and Bob (wife Mary) Ryckman of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bricker; five sisters, Stella Lawrence, Orpha Stevens, Mildred Sherwood, Zelma Ryckman and Evelyn Hankins; two brothers, William R. Holden and Wilbur Stanley Holden.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 27 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home with Lance Stevens officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Visitation was held at the funeral on Friday, December 26.
Emma C. Conley
Oct. 8, 1928 – Dec. 26, 2003
Emma C. Conley, 75, of Carthage died Friday, December 26 at Millers Merry Manor in Rushville. She was born October 8, 1928 in Paris, Ky., a daughter of the late Nellie Pruitt.
Mrs. Conley lived most of her life in Carthage and was a home caregiver. She was a member of the Church of Bible Covenant. Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She married Emery O. Conley March 4, 1957 and he preceded her in death July 18, 1984. One brother also preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 30 in the Todd Funeral Home, Carthage Chapel with burial in the Carthage Town Cemetery. Visitation was held prior to the service on Tuesday.
Betty J. Moore
Feb. 24, 1926 – Dec. 28, 2003
Betty J. Moore, 77, a resident of Wilkinson, died Sunday, December 28 at her residence. She was born February 24, 1926 in Carthage, a daughter of the late Gerald and Ethel (Stevens) Mann-Blessinger.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Shirley Friends Church, the Knightstown American Legion Bingo Club and the Greenfield American Legion Bingo Club.
Surviving are four sons, Michael Moore of Indianapolis, Gregory Moore of Indianapolis, Tracy Joe Moore of Carthage and Bryan Moore of Shirley; two daughters, Suzy Hanna of Willow Branch and Debby Clark of Shirley; 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Moore in 1999 and a brother, Robert Mann.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, December 31) in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Jim Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
Visitation was held at the funeral home Tuesday, December 30.
Donald McIntosh
Mar. 2, 1923 – Dec. 25, 2003
Donald Franklin McIntosh, 80, of New Castle died Thursday, December 25 at Henry County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born March 2, 1923 in Estell County, Ky., a son of the late Joseph and Kistara McIntosh.
Mr. McIntosh retired from Allison’s after 30 years of service. He owned and operated his own heating and air cooling business and was assisted by his grandson, Ronald Jr. until 1999. He was a member of Crossroad Church of God in New Castle. He lived most of his life in Knightstown and loved to hunt, fish and trap. An avid woodworker, he made cabinets, cedar chests and baby beds for many family members. A great storyteller, he also knew the Bible from front to back.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jeanette F. McIntosh of New Castle; three sons, Ronald Gene (wife Cheryl) McIntosh of Sulphur Springs, Joseph Elva (wife Lynette) McIntosh of Knightstown, and Jackie (wife Carol) McIntosh of Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Ronald McIntosh, Jr. of New Castle, Jennifer (husband Scott) Halcomb of Spiceland, Jordan McIntosh of Knightstown, Angela McIntosh of New Castle, Aaron McIntosh of New Castle, Mandy (husband Dave) Gray of Knightstown, Jeremiah (wife Aracely) Gregory of Brownsville, Texas and Jessica (husband Jeremy) Lee of Indianapolis; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Paige, Gracie, Isaac, Tyler, Madison and Devin; and an aunt, Nancy Spicer of Florence, Wisc.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-grandchild; six brothers, Elmer, Ora Dale, Ray, Henry, Richard and Glenn McIntosh; and three sisters, Bonnie, Velma Marie and Mary.
Services were held Monday, December 29 at Crossroad Church of God with Rev. Danny Douglas and Rev. Brian Campbell officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Visitation was held Sunday, December 28 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crossroad Church of God building fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
John W. Fox
Aug. 28, 1924 – Dec. 9, 2003
John W. Fox, 79, of Knightstown, died Tuesday, December 9 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born August 28, 1924 in Indianapolis, a son of the late John Hayden and Gertha (Poland) Fox.
Mr. Fox had lived in Knightstown most of his life. He was a retired electrician for the Knightstown Electric Dept. He was a member of Knightstown American Legion Post 152 and V.F.W Post # 8257. He retired after 25 years of service with the Knightstown Volunteer Fire Dept. John and his wife Mildred were the former owners of the G-2 Café for several years.
He married Mildred Chew who preceded him in death in 2001.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda (husband David W.) Glenn of Knightstown; one sister, Francis L. Fox of Washington, Ind.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Leeta Jane Glenn who died October 12, 2003; one great-grandchild; four sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 12 at the Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown with Rev. Mervin Kilmer officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery with military services by members of Knightstown American Legion Post 152 and V.F.W. #8257.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 11 at Todd Funeral Home.
Irene Avanell Ernstes

Irene Avanell Gorman Ernstes, 79, of Winchester, Va. died Wednesday, December 31 at Winchester Medical Center. She was born April 3, 1924 in Knightstown, a daughter of the late James Stanley and Margaret VanOstram Gorman, Sr.
Mrs. Ernstes was the widow of Clarence of Clarence Andrew Ernstes and had been employed as a baker by the Loudoun County Schools.
Surviving are four children, Billy Ernstes of King William County, Va., Kathy Bishop of Rocky Gap, Va., Sharon Grainger of Conyers, Ga., and Judy Ernstes of Winchester; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Edmonds of Ponsietta, Fla., Phyllis Yost of Titusville, Fla., Caroline Davis of Florida, and Geneva Dye of New Castle; three brothers, James Gorman, Jr. of Haymarket, Va., Arnold Gorman of Knightstown, and Freddy Gorman of Spiceland; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Private memorial services were held with arrangements by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel in Winchester, Va.
Lillian Mildred Stohler

Lillian Mildred Stohler, 93, a resident of Pendleton, died Monday, December 29 at Rawlins House in Pendleton. She was born April 17, 1910 in Shirley, a daughter of the late Ezra C. and Lillian Myrtle (Camplin) Gebhart.
Mrs. Stohler had been employed at Delco Remy in Anderson, Kroger in Pendleton, janitor of the EUB Church in Pendleton and a card and gift shop in her home. She was a member of the Pendleton United Methodist Church.
Surviving are four daughter, Marilyn (husband Paul) Dyer of Anderson, Donna (husband Frank) Bergman of Indianapolis, Pat (husband Ronnie) Plummer of Lapel and Barbara Stohler of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Mike Plummer of Anderson, Debbie Lamb of Zionsville, Fred Bergman of Hobart, Jeff Bergman of Indianapolis, Greg Bergman of Indianapolis, Denny Plummer of Muncie and Dan Owens of Indianapolis; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnet Guy Stohler; a granddaughter; Joy Gillespie; a sister, Eva Rozzell; and a brother, Donald Gebhart.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 3 in the condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Emory Reece officiating. Burial was in Mendon Cemetery in Pendleton.
Visitation was held at the funeral home Friday, January 2.
